I know what you’re thinking – what kind of an asshole kills his own kind? This kind of ass... I mean me. I do. I’m a vampire hunter who just happens to be a vampire also. Or as I prefer to think of it, an exterminator, making the nighttime safer, one bloodsucker at a time.

I get it. I don’t look like the typical vamp. I’m not tall, dark, and handsome. I don’t smolder. People don’t see a killer when they look at me. I like it that way, it lets me hide in plain sight.

Boston’s just like any other city that needs cleaning up, and it’s kept me busy enough not to think about what I left behind in San Francisco.

Until she walked in.

I’d seen a zillion girls like her in my day. Wannabe feeders, going for that slutty goth style they thought vampires wanted. She was perfect. I didn’t have to watch anyone else in the place but her. Whoever took the bait was the one I’d target for the night. Only it turns out this girl doesn’t want saving. This girl’s on a hunt of her own.

*** Carter can be read as a standalone, or as book 10.5 of the Forged Bloodlines series. ***

So, first things first... Carter is apart of Lisa's Forged Bloodlines series, which is at 10 books right now, but it can be read as a standalone. I will say that if you haven't read her Forged Bloodlines series you are totally missing out, it's fantastic!

Carter is a vampire but he's not your typical vampire. He's more like a hot, cocky, smart mouthed, superhero/vampire slayer. See, he didn't choose to be a vampire, that choice was made for him but he can, and does, choose to not to kill humans. He even goes as far as not drinking from humans at all. He doesn't take to kindly to the vampires who kill the humans just because they can, so he puts an end to them. Now, before that meant that he would kill them but now, for...reasons, he has to get creative on how to get rid of them.

I am a huge paranormal fan and also a huge Lisa Olsen fan. I love her writing style and the way her books suck you into a whole nother world. Carter will give you the giggles, make you angry and give the feels. So many feels... But most of all, it will make you fall in love with CARTER.

Carter is a character in the Forged Bloodlines series, but this book can easily stand alone. However, I strongly suggest you read the entire series because it is amazing!!!
Carter is a loner, with the exception of his long time friend Anja he does not have close relationships. Part of that is because of what he does to protect the community he is a part of. You see Carter is a vampire, but not by choice, but a vampire none the less. His problem with the vampire community is those that kill humans just for fun. So now Carter has made it his personal mission to take out those vampires who kill their victims. That is when he meets her, the one person who can turn his perfectly created world upside down.
I loved this book, and I fell in love with Carter, I had always thought he was great and that he was special, but this book made me love him for how real he was, and the fears he had that can be seen in so many people that we know personally. So while it is a paranormal based book, it relates to real life.
Lisa Olsen does it again and I look forward to so many more books!

Savored every last word... Carter has been one of my favorite characters ever since Lisa introduced him to this series. He is everything a girl would want in a guy, funny (at least to me), brave, and even though he doesn't think it an all around nice guy with Morals (who would have thought)

After arriving in Boston Carter's world as he knew it was turned up side down. The excitement and tears this story brought me was overwhelming at times. The adventures were heart warming and the mishaps had me whispering (who am I kidding yelling) no oh gosh please no! This entire series has been a favorite of mine, but for reason's I cannot explain this book touched me in a way I will always remember. Must Read PEOPLE!!! MUST READ!!!

I received an ARC for an honest review. I loved this book. I have fallen for Carter. His sense of humor tickles me. Also his sense of honor is rare, especially in a Vampire. This is probably why Anja is such good friends with him. Carter is a Vampire that hunts other Vampire. He meets Holly white doing his job. The shenanigans these two get up to are hilarious. Of course, it cannot be a Lisa Olsen book without making me cry. I was rung through the ringer and spit out. It had all my favorites. Action and adventure. Suspense and a little mystery. Hope I got your attention. Go get your copy and fall for Carter too. From a true Fan... Pam James.

Slayer slaying

Carter is a Vampire Slayer & is also a vampire. He has sworn off relationships that is until he saves Holly from a nasty vamp. Holly is a human on the lookout for her missing brother & a woman by the name of Ivy that she believes is not only a vampire but also associated with her brother. Holly has a way of working around the compulsions that Carter lays on her so their paths continue to cross. They end up working together as they both have the same target...the nasty vamp Gideon.

Sparks fly with these two but Carter fights the sparks. Holly is a tough cookie that challenges him which makes the story entertaining. There is something about Carter that just makes you love the guy.

This author really knows how to write an entertaining, mysterious & enjoyable paranormal love story. I encourage you to read not only this story which can be read as a standalone but also the other books in this series. They will provide you with many hours of entertainment.

This is a definite 5 star read because of the entertainment factor alone.

Carter is a book in the Forged Bloodline series of books. This book is about Carter and Holly. It starts out with Carter out hunting bad vampires who kill people, which is weird since Carter is a vampire. Holly is searching for someone in places that are going to get her hurt or killed, and Carter rescues her not once but twice before he figures out it will be easier to just help her out. Holly doesn’t want to believe in vampires but while trying to figure out where her brother has disappeared to she finds all this evidence in his apartment which seems to point out that vampires are real. But regardless she is determined to find Pete.

This book is great! While it is in the Forged Bloodline series of books, it can be read as a standalone book. The characters are great and the action starts right away. This book would be great for anyone who loves paranormal stories. I would recommend this book to anyone.

I was given an ARC for an honest opinion of this book.

Ok so Carter is part of one of Lisa Olsen's series' s Forged Bloodline but can easily be a standalone also. But if you haven't read the forged bloodline series I insist that you do because it is easily one of my favorites. I got this book as an ARC for an honest review and I hate anyone who post spoilers so I will not do that to you, but I will tell you this; Carter is a badass Vampire that hunts his own kind. He is a loner who only has one real friend in the world until he meets a stubborn human whom just can't seem to keep herself out of trouble. If you haven't read this story, you are truly missing out. It is by far one of the best books I have read this year. Kudos Lisa Olsen. Well Done !

Lisa Olsen has outdone herself yet again! Carter is full of action, humor, witty banter and romance. Our hero is almost an anti hero or so he thinks of himself yet he takes out the bad guys and saves the damsel in distress, kind of..... Holly is our heroine and while she is new to Carter's world, she certainly doesn't faint or pull the girl act. I think she's a great foil for Carter and at times, you can tell he doesn't know what to do with her! I loved every word! While this is a stand alone, it does fit in with the Forged Bloodlines series and if you haven't read those, you are definitely missing out!!!!

I have read the other books in this series and I've got to say, I wasn't as looking forward to this story as much as the others. I was very pleasantly surprised however. I'm so glad I read this one! I feel like I got to know Carter a lot better and the people he meets in this one are awesome as well. In what I've come to expect in a Lisa Olsen novel, there was humor, action, and some moments where you were saying "don't you do it! Don't you dare do it!". I can't wait for the next installment in the series and hope that Carter and other characters from this one make an appearance. If you haven't read the series, I highly recommend it. They are quick reads full of action and entertainment.

I love Carter. This is a perfect addition to the Forged Bloodlines series but can also be read as a stand alone. Carter the vampire who hunts evil vampires, the loner. After years alone as a vampire hunter he finally meets his match in Holly. She's perfect for him. I truly enjoyed this book in actual fact I read it within a day as I could not put it down. I loved the humour and the excitement of the book.
I would definitely recommend this to any PNR fan, if you've never read PNR? Don't worry this book will have you hooked.
Thanks Lisa for another great read.

Carter was such an amazing read

Loved Carter's story. Just love the world Lisa created with this series. Carter is the bomb although he could have been nicer to my Bishop but then again there wouldn't be the hysterical things Carter says about him. This story will have the reader caught in Lisa's web with the first paragraph. But really nervous with the title of her next installment.... forget me when the sun goes down..... don't break my heart Lisa!!!!

I'm glad Lisa decided to expand The Forged Bloodlines series. It's one of my favorites. Nobody writes vampires like she does! This book is no exception. Carter is a favorite character of mine. It's good to see into his world. Still think he moved on too fast emotionally though...
