While this doesn't cover everything, this was a great way to clear up some myths about Mormonism while truly getting at what makes Mormonism tick and why it doesn't work. Members of the LDS are not Christians, because they do not believe in the God of Christians. (One God in Three Persons.) There was also a lot of internal turmoil at the founding. I pray that Mormons can find true faith the truly Apostolic and Universal Catholic Church.

I wrote a short book in response to Horn's work for one of my religion classes. If anyone wants to read my response, message me and I'll send it to you.
In short, 20 Answers: Mormonism is not a good book. It is extremely poorly-researched. Citations and proof are quite rare. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will quickly recognize that many of Horn's claims about LDS beliefs and Church history are completely false. They simply aren't true, and if Horn had done easy, cursory research about his subject matter he would not have published many of his claims.

In addition to being poorly-researched, this book contains weak logical arguments and demonstrates an ignorance of the Bible, which is used as evidence for many of Horn's criticisms. One example of this is when Horn argues that we shouldn't trust our "feelings" from the Holy Ghost when deciding whether the Book of Mormon is true. His first mistake is assuming that these feelings should be used as evidence in an argument about the Book of Mormon's veracity. This is wrong because the Holy Ghost's promptings are given by God to convince a sincere individual about the truth; they are not significant for anyone other than the individual touched by the Holy Ghost.
Horn's second serious mistake is ignoring the plethora of Bible scriptures about the Holy Ghost's importance in finding the truth(Matthew 16:17, John 14:26, John 16:12-13, 1 Corinthians 12:3, Acts 7:51).
That's just one example.
I don't have anything against Trent Horn. Anyone who fights against abortion is cool in my book. But if you're looking for a factually correct, logically sound book about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20 Answers: Mormonism is not it.

Short, but to the point. As someone with a history with the LDS church I can testify that he tells the truth about what LDS believe. It could be deeper, but that’s not the scope of the book. I noticed a reviewer saying it’s all lies without sources, but then he must have read a very different booklet than me. There are footnote and citations through the whole booklet.

Excellent information about Mormonism

As a Catholic living in Mormon Utah this is a wonderful brief book on the differences between our two religions. Truthfully, I probably would never have use for this information in everyday life with our Mormon friends, but as a person who enjoys knowing these things, I am glad that I have had the opportunity to acquire this knowledge. Many thanks to Rev. Horn for his research.

This book provides concise and well-founded answers about the doctrines, origin, and history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The strategy outlined at the end seems like an excellent starting point for engaging in dialogue with Mormon friends, family members, and acquaintances.

This short booklet was full of excellent content written intelligently and approachably. The way Horn organized this booklet was great. He took the time to explain Mormon beliefs, provide Biblical evidence for their beliefs, and then provide Catholic responses. I appreciated that he took the time to explain where the Mormon beliefs come from rather than just stating them and dismissing them. Horn also was cautious to respect Mormon beliefs despite being in disagreement with them. He addressed myths and avoided sharing some private, sacred practices. In addition to answering questions about the Mormon faith, he provided practical tips for having charitable conversations with Mormons. I would recommend that anyone who wants to engage in a conversation with Mormon friends, family members, or missionaries.
