She put herself on autopilot and stopped working to her fullest, stopped striving to be her best, stopped pursuing the excellence she knew she was capable of. It was in this realization that led Sharon to her next project, the Play Big Movement- a call to action, online course, and forthcoming book about rising above whatever is stopping you from thinking and acting as to your greatest potential. With the Play Big Movement, Sharon is back and teaching the world how to take control of their time and money, live their legacy and create maximum impact.
This book is one I can read over and over. It confirmed so many thoughts and hunches I have had over the course of my lifetime. I love that it's faith based and shares some many successful women's quotes and thoughts. It's a must read for any women who is on the path for growth and prosperity through God!
This book was a convoluted struggle and full of little but repetitive platitudes. A few chapters were thought-provoking and one in particular inspired me to find ways to give back to my community (which I am now doing). But for the most part, this book was a disappointment. Author also promotes network marketing, which made me question her ethics.
And any woman who goes out of her way to say "I am not a feminist" has no business writing (or in this case, adapting) personal development books for women. Come on, learn what feminism actually is. Blegh.
It was a very good book, filled with insight and great advice. Definitely worth the read. I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn, grow, and achieve success. It is inspirational and motivational and offers a positive approach to building a career filled with passion and satisfaction, while using the wisdom of other women.
This book is a must read for all women from every walk of life. If you are trying to figure out what's next, then this book is for you. If you are trying to find balance and commitment in your life, then please read and take notes. Most importantly do the work! God bless!
This version left out so many of the critical aspects of Hill's work. You really have to have read and absorbed the original to get true value out of this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I never read the original book, and after this there is a good chance I won't. The entrepreneur trend that is so big these days has a selfishness and lack of compassion and common sense that seems to pervade the movement, and it drives me crazy. I thought this book would be more about what women can do to make smart money choices in the business and financial worlds that still favor men. Talk about getting raises, making sure you are paid a fair wage, planning for retirement, investing, etc.
Part of my disappointment is my bad for not really knowing what Napoleon Hill's original book focused on. Apparently it actually just focused on money. How to think about it, attract it to you, and get it. I just thought after all the times I had heard about it over the years there would be a little more depth. I guess it's in the title, so I shouldn't be that surprised.
At one point Sharon says straight out that she is not a feminist. What? I mean, you can't say something like that and then not explain what you mean or why you choose not to identify as one. This was published in 2014! For women! What editor didn't catch that?!
I got some useful stuff out of this, but I'm uncomfortable endorsing material that sidles up to all that problematic law of attraction stuff. Thus the three stars instead of four, breaking my own reviewing rule.
Good points made, but at times a slow read. I did not follow the tasks and homework as instructed, but I did enjoy the moments of reflection it encouraged and created while reading.

📚 Why It’s a Great Read Because no, its not dry and boring theory—it’s stories of real women who turned ambition into achievement. Sharon Lechter makes success principles relatable, funny, and empowering. You’ll laugh at your own habits (“Yep, that’s me procrastinating”) and walk away with a toolkit for confidence and wealth.
The Bottom Line: Think and Grow Rich for Women book encourages you to stop apologizing for ambition and start using it to create success and significance.
My Message to All Women: Dear woman… for far too long, we were living in the shade—boxed into frames, told our place was in the background, our voices too soft, our dreams too big. That was the past.
If you want a role—go for it. If you want to lead—go for it. If you want to be a politician—go for it. If you want to build a business—go for it.
Because you are not defined by limits, you are defined by your beliefs.
To us women… who can do everything—balancing between family and work life, between doing and leading, between nurturing and conquering. Our strength is not in choosing a role, but in owning the ones we want.
We are no longer the background—we are the front lines. Every time a woman steps forward, she doesn’t just break a barrier; she builds a bridge for others to cross.
And let us never forget: every human alive today owes their life to a woman—a mum, a wife, a partner, a sister, a daughter. Women are the heartbeat of humanity, the foundation of families, and the architects of futures.
So let’s make the world where more women are not just present, but leading. are not just surviving, but thriving. are not just included, but celebrated.
Because when women rise, the world doesn’t just move forward—it transforms. Families heal, communities thrive, nations grow stronger. Every heartbeat of humanity carries the rhythm of a woman’s courage, and when we rise, we lift generations with us.
I read this book a while ago but from what I remember is that it’s a self-help classic that teaches the mindset and principles behind achieving wealth and success. Based on insights from successful figures like Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford, Hill emphasizes the power of desire, faith, persistence, and clear planning.
While some ideas may feel dated, the book’s core message—success starts in the mind—remains relevant and inspiring. Whether you’re chasing financial goals or personal growth, Think and Grow Rich is a powerful reminder of the importance of mindset and action in achieving your dreams.
Napoleon Hill's classic is a classic for a reason - many of this philosophies have stood the test of time. Here, Sharon Lechter takes Hill's 13 steps and applies them to the modern day and, specifically, with women in mind. She includes quotes and anecdotes from successful women, and how she's applied Hill's teachings in her life and the results she's gotten. The result is a new take on the original "Think and Grow Rich" with some fresh insights from some of the world's most impactful and influential women. An inspiring read and great reminder!
Think and Grow Rich for Women is a phenomenal read especially if you are feeling lost and indecisive on the choices you want to make your life more successful and filled with your purpose of what you are going to enjoy doing for the next 50 years of your life. I really enjoyed this read, that I am actually going to buy the book for myself since I borrow this copy from the public library.
The author gives tons of advice for is woman to think and grow rich. She also share her story and how she made it through the obstacles. If taken seriously and with higher sense of commitment this book serves as a guide to achieving your wildest dreams. Highly recommend.
I wish I had read the original first. There is a lot of reference to the original book by Hill but with quotes from women and some commentary by the author. People may get more out of the book by reading them both together.
