I waited and waited some more for Part 2....SKIP IT and wait (maybe) for BOOK 3
Only to be enormously disappointed. I loved book 1. LOVED IT. I had the impression that Book 2 would be in Chase's POV. WRONG.

This book is just annoying. I thought I'd swallow this up in one sitting but after the second chapter, I needed a break because suddenly I developed an attitude. Basically, book 2 is "a dark look washed over his face but quickly disappeared. But I saw it." Very frustrating. The entire book is about Laurie's insecurities, Chase's ego and very little build up to their wedding. Nothing in this book is about Clint, her mother, Chase's past (except for the epilogue) and all to do with her virginity and her inner struggle to give it up. Nothing of substance as was in Book 1.
Do yourself a favor, skip it and wait for Book 3. Maybe it will offer the conclusion or a little glimpse of a conclusion to book 1. Honestly, I feel ripped off. That's why I'm writing this negative review.

Dizzy and Confused
I was impatiently waiting this book's release because I loved The Interview so much.
However, I'm not too sure if it's possible to be more disappointed, unfortunately. It actually felt like a completely different book with completely different characters written by completely different authors. Yikes!

Ok, let's start with Laurie. She was incredibly annoying, naive, gullible and immature in this book.
Oh, I'm getting married...wait, he expects to live together?

Laurie is deciding if she wants to go through with the fake marriage to Chase. Laurie is struggling with her decision, she doesn't know much about Chase and she is finding her attraction is complicating her decision. Chase has decided he wants Laurie in every way, but will settle for an agreement that will satisfy them both.
Quickly paced, you get to learn a little bit more about both characters. Cliffhanger ending and I am anxiously waiting the finale. i thought this was highly entertaining and the chemistry between Laurie and Chase escalates throughout the story.

JOSIE'S REVIEW
This book is not to be read as a standalone, this is the continuation of Chase and Laurie’s very complexed and unique relationship. Once again JC Reed and Jackie Steele collaborating together have treated readers with a very intense and drama filled story. The story is told in Laurie’s POV but we do get a brief look into Chase’s mind in the prologue and I have to tell you I need more. This is a quick read but the writing was so well done that I felt like there was no detail left out.
As we know, there is someone watching the couple waiting for the right time to strike, the question is who. After reading the letters her mother left, Laurie no longer wants to be the beneficiary to Waterfront Gardens. She wants no part of its dark past or the money. She agreed to a fake engagement but a fake marriage is something she is having trouble dealing with. They might have an agreement but as time goes on both of them become deeply affected by the other. Chase really stirs Laurie’s hormones. Laurie fights her feelings and needs throughout the book. She tries to keep her jealously in check. She also fights the need of wanting Chase as hers. We knew from the first book that something traumatic happened to Laurie in her past, and in this book we see some more of its deep seeded effects.
We see many different sides to Chase’s character in this book and it is difficult to get a true reading on him. I wasn’t sure about Chase, something about him had my alarms going off; the quick calls and his willingness to help Laurie have me questioning what his game truly is. Chase is an interesting, appealing, sexy, and challenging character. He knows he was hired to play the part of her fiancé but he can’t ignore the pull, need and sexual chemistry he experiences with Laurie. He tries to show signs of indifference with Laure, but I can see right through it. Laurie tests his patience and his control, and he wants to help her and protect her but at what price. Chase realizes that in order to get the upper hand, he is going to have to change the game and change it in a way where he will reap its benefits.
When Chase finally lays all his demands on the table will Laurie accept his proposal? Can Laurie keep their relationship as strictly professional? With the game changed and secrets are revealed, will the game change again? Is Chase hiding something truly dark about his true intentions with Laurie? I really enjoyed this story, there were so many revelations and secrets I wasn’t expecting. Definitely a book every fan of these authors will want to pick up.

In February I read An Indecent Proposal: The Interview, and was hooked! I wanted to know more about Laurie and Chase. An Indecent Proposal: The Agreement, continues immediately after the first book, so you would have to read the first to understand what is going on. It was an exciting and sizzling read with a few twists thrown in to keep you on your toes!
I learned a lot more about both Laurie and Chase. Laurie became more comfortable around Chase and found it hard to fight her attraction to him; the more time they spent together as well as his proposal didn’t help her keep him at arms length. She’s still determined to get her letters, but her stepfather Clint remains on her mind too.
I thought that Chase was really sweet in this instalment too, trying to make things as perfect as possible for Laurie. But there were times that he struggled; he’s definitely attracted to Laurie, but I can tell that he’s keeping secrets from her that can tear them apart. The relationship is difficult, but they both will benefit from the proposal.
Laurie’s past is still a bit of a mystery to me, and I’m hoping that we get all the answers in the next book. Laurie’s friend Jude remains at her side throughout everything, but I’m beginning to wonder if there’s more to her than what she portrays.
Although I didn’t get all the answers yet, Indecent Proposal: The Agreement was a captivating read. There were plenty of swoonworthy moments featuring Chase, but there were also a few twists that kept me thinking. The threat that occurred during the first book wasn’t a major factor in this book, but remains in the corner of my mind. J.C. Reed & Jackie S. Steele have continued to keep me hooked to the storyline and when I got to the final page I kept trying to flick the pages of my iPad for more, because that ending… Gah! I hope I don’t have to wait as long for the final book. Well done ladies!!

If I could give 1/2 stars, then I would give this book 2.5 stars. I was excited
to read this book because the beginning of the book was from Chase's pov. The rest of the book was from Laurie's pov. She drove me crazy because she is so helpless and whiny. She would lead Chase on and then get mad when he would try to take control of the situation. She got all defensive with his conditions on the marriage. What did she expect he was going to want out of the relationship. She was so naive. The ending had a couple of twists, but her immaturity shone through. I would have stood my ground and would have found a way to beat Chase at his own game. I hope she grows up in the next book and I would like to know what Chase is thinking

I loved reading this series, it always leaves me wanting more from each character. I loved Chase in the first book but this second book has me wondering what he's got himself into. Laurie finds herself in a situation she's not sure about however she really doenst have much choice, especially if she gets what she wants out of the agreement. Following Chase's demands isnt easy and Laurie doesnt plan on giving in anytime soon or so she says.
I love the banter between the characters, Chase is definitely the hottie everyone wants to keep as their own. I loved reading The Agreement and cant wait to see what's in store for the third book especially with the cliff hanger we were given in book two. The suspense is killing me lol

Chase is still such a mystery to me and I can't seem to figure him out. I am normally really good at doing so but these authors got me good.
Chase is still dead set on marrying her and now he has some demands of his own. Some she may not be willing to deal with but then again does she really have a choice.
This book will have you begging for more. The details of this book are perfection even down to how her wedding dress looks.
Then once you get to the last chapter theses authors are going to make you hate them....why you ask? Well because they leave you with the mother of cliffhangers.

Where to start? This is the second book in the Indecent Proposal series. While I love the first book in the series titled The Interview - I really struggled with Laurie in The Agreement. She is trying to decide if she wants to go through with the wedding to Chase and all of her whining about did me in. BUT the last couple of chapters reeled me back in and left me hanging and wondering what the crap would happen in the last book. I can't wait to read The Contract to see how things end up with Laurie and Chase.

And the plot thickens. I definitely knew there was more to this story than what I was reading in the first book. Some pretty intriguing surprises popped up in this one and oh boy they were good. Even though, some of my questions have been answered, I still have so many more. While the story stayed pretty strong, I was a little disheartened at the direction that the characters went in this one. I have the utmost fait that there will be some definite redemption in the next book.

I really didn't like this book. I felt that it was all unnecessary words for nothing. Even though I read this first book, I found the characters unlikable this time around, and that this book was put out to fill dead space so to say.
I actually feel bad for not liking this book, because I do like J.C.'s other books. Mind you, I will read the third one as I want to know what the hell is going on.

The chemistry between Chase and Laurie is awesome. The author did a great job at describing their relationship. Laurie frustrated me some by not speaking her mind all the time but Chase's character wouldn't have had it any other way. This story was about their contract agreement on the terms of their marriage. Chase shows his romantic side and Laurie realizes she is falling in love. But it ends abruptly and I was so happy the next book was out and available to be read.

Great Read
I waited so long for this book to come out and now I have to wait again for the conclusion. I feel bad for Laurie only to finally trust and have her heart broken. Sometimes I believe her friend Jude is in on it, I guess I'll have to wait and see

I enjoyed book 1, and book 2 was not different. The storyline is great, the writing flows. I enjoyed reading it and I'v got the next book at home.

Be advised: An Indecent Proposal: The Interview must be read BEFORE this installment. This is not a standalone series. If you haven't read The Interview yet... why not?!?
I'll admit, it took a while for me to get invested in the story when I read the first book, The Interview but once I connected with the characters, I was all in... and then I was HOOKED once I read the prequal in The Arrangement. The authors give us a brief glimpse of Chase's POV and I spent the whole time trying to figure out what his game plan was. Though, this book isn't necessarily a "suspense", that small sliver kept me in suspense the whole time. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and just like the great authors they are, the story was delivered in a way that I'm left holding my breath and waiting at the edge of my seat for the final part of this story. (sneaky, sneaky)
This whole story revolves around an arrangement Laurie made with Chase. She's trying to get through a legal hurdle that is keeping her from the only thing her mother left her and Chase agrees to help her. Now when we meet Chase in the first book, he's all gentlemanly and sweet; which he remains in this book, but little by little we get to see a little bit more of him and I'm certainly intrigued as to who he really is. Those small fragments shows us a more dominating, darker persona and I can't wait to see more of him. I would certainly drop my panties for him.
Laurie is still the determined, headstrong girl we met in the beginning. However, she did tend to fell a bit wishy/washy, but I think it had a lot to do with her inner turmoil. She really wanted to stick to her guns and keep everything "businesslike", but she's almost a puddle of jello when she's around Chase. I can't blame her. Once he turns on the charm, I'm a puddle of goo as well.
The Agreement delivers much more character development for Laurie. We see her mature in many ways as she battles her needs, wants and desires when it comes to Chase Wright. This proposal ended up being much more than she bargained for and she has trouble sticking to her plans.
I'm soooo looking forward to the conclusion to this story. I need to know what's in those letters, who is Chase Wright and what's going to happen next?? I can't wait!!

REVIEW: THE AGREEMENT is the second installment in JC Reed and Jackie Steele’s contemporary, adult AN INDECENT PROPOSAL romantic suspense novella trilogy focusing on twenty two year old Lauren Hanson, and Chase Wright. THE AGREEMENT should not be read as a stand alone, as each installment builds upon the events of the previous storyline.
SOME BACKGROUND: The focus is on Lauren’s need for a ‘fiance’. According to her mother’s will, in order to gain access to a set of letters her mother bequeathed upon her death, Laurie must be in a committed relationship before her twenty third birthday. Enter-handsome and mysterious actor Chase Wright-who easily accepts all of the conditions set out by Miss Hanson.
Told from first person point of view (Laurie) THE AGREEMENT focuses on preparations for Laurie and Chase’s ‘wedding’. Laurie insists that the couple agree to a professional arrangement with no physical or emotional attachments but Chase insists on a contractual agreement whereby Lauren must agree to a number of stipulations and rules in order for their fake marriage to survive. What ensues is the push and pull of attraction; the uneasiness of the unknown; and the possibility that our heroine has committed herself to a dark and dangerous man with secrets of his own. As the rightful heir to the Waterfront Gardens, Laurie’s mysterious new husband could have very well played our heroine like the naive fool she has presented herself to be.
THE AGREEMENT is a slow build to an intense (although not unexpected) reveal that is impassioned, dramatic and heartbreaking. The destructive nature of the ill fated proposal catches the heroine and the reader in a climactic and powerful cliff hanger that leaves Lauren Hanson in a precarious and unenviable position- to run or face the uncertainty that her new marriage and husband have to offer. Chase has an agenda and Laurie plays a major role in his plans. The premise is intriguing and suspense filled; the characterizations continue to reveal something more than meets the eye; the romance is a struggle between heart and mind.

REVIEW: THE AGREEMENT is the second installment in JC Reed and Jackie Steele’s contemporary, adult AN INDECENT PROPOSAL romantic suspense novella trilogy focusing on twenty two year old Lauren Hanson, and Chase Wright. THE AGREEMENT should not be read as a stand alone, as each installment builds upon the events of the previous storyline.
SOME BACKGROUND: The focus is on Lauren’s need for a ‘fiance’. According to her mother’s will, in order to gain access to a set of letters her mother bequeathed upon her death, Laurie must be in a committed relationship before her twenty third birthday. Enter-handsome and mysterious actor Chase Wright-who easily accepts all of the conditions set out by Miss Hanson.
Told from first person point of view (Laurie) THE AGREEMENT focuses on preparations for Laurie and Chase’s ‘wedding’. Laurie insists that the couple agree to a professional arrangement with no physical or emotional attachments but Chase insists on a contractual agreement whereby Lauren must agree to a number of stipulations and rules in order for their fake marriage to survive. What ensues is the push and pull of attraction; the uneasiness of the unknown; and the possibility that our heroine has committed herself to a dark and dangerous man with secrets of his own. As the rightful heir to the Waterfront Gardens, Laurie’s mysterious new husband could have very well played our heroine like the naive fool she has presented herself to be.
THE AGREEMENT is a slow build to an intense (although not unexpected) reveal that is impassioned, dramatic and heartbreaking. The destructive nature of the ill fated proposal catches the heroine and the reader in a climactic and powerful cliff hanger that leaves Lauren Hanson in a precarious and unenviable position- to run or face the uncertainty that her new marriage and husband have to offer. Chase has an agenda and Laurie plays a major role in his plans. The premise is intriguing and suspense filled; the characterizations continue to reveal something more than meets the eye; the romance is a struggle between heart and mind.

I remember after reading The Interview the first in this series being hooked from the word go and could not wait for The Agreement, the second book.
I finally got my hands on The Agreement for review. I loved how this book just flowed from the 1st book with no break in time. It was easy to pick up again and read.
Laurie and Chase are getting closer and although Laurie keeps denying it she secretly wants Chase, not just for the agreement they have but for longer but she knows that is just not possible after all it was just an elaborate fake relationship/wedding in order to get what she has desired for a long time, her mother’s letter.
Throughout this whole book Laurie’s background and her determination to get her mother’s letters kept playing on my mind constantly wondering why?, why were these letters so important and what is the deep dark secret behind them, basically I just wanted answers LOL.
Laurie relaxed a bit more with Chase and he encouraged that but deep down he knows she has feelings for him and at times he plays on that. The sexual chemistry between these two is combustible.
Chase is a character, I did like how he took care of Laurie and wanted what was best but at the back of my mind I did keep thinking “What’s his game”, I mean let’s face it not many men would do what he is doing for someone he hardly knows. There were just times where I wondered about his actions, who he really was and why was he really doing this. Something to me does not add up with him.
Laurie has her feelings to deal with over Chase, her stepfather Clint who is still a pain for her and her sexual frustration; a lot to deal with in one go. Her best friend Jude I really liked in the first book but in this book I felt she could have been a bit more supportive and around more for Laurie, she knows what Laurie is feeling and I am sceptical of her just now, I just wonder if Jude has more secrets than even Laurie knows and is truly her best friend or has an ulterior motive in getting Laurie and Chase together.
I did enjoy this book and had been looking forward to it for some time, yes I still have loads of questions to be answered and I want to see how these two progress and I can’t wait for that, to me this makes a good story, it keeps you on your toes, makes you want more and makes you ask those questions. It is not just a straight cut book, it has so many twists and turns that it is full of anticipation which I love.
I can’t wait for the next book in February 2016 as then I hope to get all my answers and the ending I am really hoping for. There are ample parts of this story though that will make you question everything but will also make you go Ahhhh how sweet. A full array of emotions which to me always makes a good story.
Must be read as part of the series, cannot be read as a Stand Alone or you would get lost with the plot .

What I Loved:Once again the prologue sucks you in to the story and adds more mystery of some of the characters which I really loved. Also I really loved that we start to see what Chase is all about and his motivations for proposing to Laurier. We do get some questions answered but a lot more questions arise and I love not knowing what is going to happen next. Chase’s charm and charisma is probably what has interested me most in this series, so to see how all of this playing out between him and Laurie makes this story more intriguing.
We pick up immediately where The Interview left off, Chase has proposed that Laurie and he get married so she can her hands on the letters her mother wanted for her. The story then follows Laurie through her thought process on marrying a man she barely knows and is scared of because of the attraction between them. Chase’s magnetism pours off of him a lot in this book and he makes it very clear to Laurie that he wants her in his bed and soon! To me that was the most intriguing part of the book because he is so blunt with her and to me that it’s a definite turn on which makes me want him even more.
Not So Much:
First of all I felt like the plot in this book was too shallow to validate an entire story for this. The whole back and forth leading up to Laurie and Chase’s wedding could’ve been included in the first book rather than dragging it out the way it was. Laurie’s constant back and forth doesn’t make her a relatable character because it doesn’t come off as growth but rather inexperience and stubbornness. I get that love is scary and that’s the message the authors are trying to convey but Laurie’s determination is annoying and alienates the reader rather than sucks them in. One moment she starts to give in a little and accepts she’s attracted to this man and might give her virginity to him, the next she states she’s never going to touch him again. It was too extreme and silly at certain points. I don’t like books that I can’t get emotionally invested in the main character and Laurie’s attitude keeps me from relating to her in any way, shape or form.

This book pick up where the first book ended. Now engaged because they have to be Laurie and Chase are continuing with their I'm attracted to him and shouldn't be game on Laurie's part. For Chase's part he wants Laurie and is helping her out,nbut there will be no touching until she is begging for it. With the wedding looming Chase comes up with an agreement of his own for Laurie to agree to and sign. After much debate they come to an agreement and the wedding can take place.
Except for the Prologue and Epilogue which were the two most interesting parts of the book in my opinion, we really learn nothing new from this book. It felt like one long session for foreplay to get to the closing act. No questions are answered, but you are given a couple hints of new information. Still I was left with so many confusing questions and no answers. I'm still not a fan of Laurie. I want so badly for her to stop being so afraid or everything. To get out and live a little or at least make a decision without debating it to death. Chase for his part is the good looking, charming male character the book needs though he is obviously up to something. Something that is big and life changing for Laurie. Though, I have not a clue what it is just like Laurie's past is one huge mystery.

A most interesting continuation…
This is the second book in the series and should be read in series order.
A fake fiancé is what Laurie Hanson wanted and she now has one but nothing is free in life and he’s turned the tables by adding some interesting demands for playing the full role. Now as the real though sham marriage approaches Laurie is questioning herself, the arrangement is dangerous to her heart but it will get her what she’s wanted for so long. Can she survive this man? And what of the danger that she feels foreshadows her and them? The pains of Laurie’s past are still a mystery to us. What happened to her in the past to turn her off so much to relationships? To trusting?
Chase Wright is a man with an agenda. He’s intriguing, charming, sexy, demanding and perhaps cunning. He’s playing the role he was hired to do yet there’s no denying the chemistry that exists between him and Laurie. You feel he cares about her though he might not want to, she was not what he expected. He wants to help her but perhaps too much and for what true reasons we don’t yet know. We were given his point of view when this installment opens and that opened up so many questions that remain unanswered. More of his point of view was desired but we were only given the one.

This is the second part of Chase and Laurie's story that started with an indecent proposal.
This book pulls you in from the start as we continue with Laurie's turbulent and downright stressful lead up to her fake wedding.... I totally got her character and empathised with her moments of clarity when she was away from her lustful thoughts of Chase.
This book has a lot of elements it will have you roaring and sniggering as Jude and Laurie are a great combo in the friend department. To feelings of despair as Laurie take this unnatural step in her life as she needs her mothers letters and will go against her moral compass to have that last piece of her mum. I also liked and loathed Laurie's character, I think it's her naivety that gives mixed feelings and because of this I forgive her for being so trusting as her character isn't naturally like that and I'm enjoying her evolving as a character. There is also the sexy side and it's written very well and fits into the theme of the book.
But for me this book was all about THAT ending....JC and Jackie have now whet my appetite was could potentially be an explosive ending to this story...How one last chapter can spin an entire book and gel the Prequel novella into the story perfectly, really set my mind racing and wondering.
I really NEED Bad Boy on my kindle ASAP as I'm desperate for answers to everything.

Finally, the long awaited book two, and I have to say it was well worth the wait.
The story in this book is very well written and developed and the plot is very fast paced and will keep you guessing till the end of the book. The chemistry between and Laurie and Chase, even though neither of them are willing to admit that they want each other, is amazing, without all the lies between them there could be a great relationship, and not the fake one that they have now.
In this book we see Laurie have so much indecision as to what she wants to do, does she want to fake marry Chase to get her deceased mothers letters, or does she want to walk away from it all. Those letters, Laurie is hoping, hold the answers to many questions Laurie has, but is marrying Chase really the right thing to do? I think the real reason for all Laurie's back and forth about what to do has to do with the fact that she has real feeling for Chase but doesn't want to admit it. Then we have Chase, what does he get out of all of this with Laurie.

In this follow up to The Interview, I was eager to find out more about Laurie and Chase and their plan to pull off the fake wedding. I didn't feel like answers from the first book were answered, instead I now have an even longer list for book three.
1. Who in the hell is Chase? We are told about these "dark looks", but is it more of Laurie's paranoia?
2. What in the world is Laurie so afraid of?? I understand her childhood was not typical, but alluding to the dark phobia without giving us a little more information became repetitive.
3. Would Laurie just make up her mind? Again, she continues to be indecisive about this fake marriage and Chase.
My favorite part of this book? The end...Finally, we are learning something about Chase!!
I was slightly disappointed in this installment, but was able to read easily in a day. I wished for some of Chase's point of view. I would love to get into his mind! I can't wait for book 3, Bad Boy, and hope my endless questions will be answered!
