I got turned off by LDS writers years ago, but this author brought religion in, yet kept me wanting to read. It was predictable to me, but my husband also read it after I did and he said he didn't figure it out until close to the end. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This is the first book of the "Heart" trilogy. Paula Donroe is a type "A" business woman and she really knows her stuff. She loves her children, but she's a "hardened" single parent and sole breadwinner. Scott is a rebelious teenager, TJ wants to join the LDS church, and Paula who is astranged from her parents, keeps a secret adoption to herself. When Paula's heart is litterally broken, she becomes a pretty exceptional women.

This was an interesting book with some twists & turns. Paula Donroe has a past. One she can not forget. She is a successful business woman with 2 sons and even that can not erase her past. LDS missionaries come into the picture and she wants nothing to do with them. One of her sons becomes quite interested however and it is only after tragedy strikes that she faces the truth of the gospel.
As stated on the cover its a story of Love, Loss, and Healing.

This is her first novel - I felt it was a little too predictable, but it still made me laugh and cry. And I like it enough to continue the trilogy. Feel good LDS books :-).
