Brilliant book
Again a brilliant book Sophia has had her two years of mourning after her mate died in a car crash when the new alpha of the bear clan turns up Liam he tells he wants her as his mate. Liam has loved Sophia for years but never said anything as his best friend Noah had made a claim to her and as alpha Liam couldn’t do anything about it. Sophia doesn’t understand the blood oath she made when she was With Noah so was surprised when Liam turned up he tries to get her to understand what is going in as well as getting her to open up and let him in as someone to love. Sophia has to look inside of herself and decide if the walls she has built round her heart can be brought down and be loved again.

Sophia’s time of mourning her mate’s death has officially come to an end. Although there is never a true time period for how long someone mourns the loss of that one person they loved with all their heart, according to clan law Sophia has a duty to the clan, one she cannot be allowed to overlook.
When Sophia mated or married Noah she knew he was a bear shifter. So she got the mating part of the ritual that was performed. What she didn’t realize that in pledging to Noah she was also pledging her loyalty, and devotion to the clan as well. In clan lore the Alpha female is tied in with the fertility and longevity of the clan. Liam as their new Alpha must claim Sophia as his mate before the next eclipse or their clan linage will end. Now.
It’s been two years since his best friend’s death in a car accident. He’s mourned for Noah, missed him like crazy and hie has taken the Alpha role in their clan. The two year ending of mourning means that he is now free to court the woman he fell in love with at the same time his best friend did. Sophia has no idea that Liam has loved her for years, and stepped aside to ensure her happiness above his own. Now she’s in for some reality checks as Liam is looking for his mate and trying to save his clan.
Sophia wants nothing to do with love ever again. Love is no guarantee that someone will stay with you forever, no matter how many promises they make. She simply will not open herself up to that kind of hurt and pain again. When Liam refuses to accept that she will not even consider his offer, Sophia has to find some way to convince him that she means no. Yet, never doubt a man in love as Liam slowly courts and begins to win Sophia over simply by being there for her every single day. He knows that time is running out. If his clan doesn’t mess up all of his work and plans he hopes to convince Sophia of his love before the eclipse. But reality is he won’t force her, and when it comes to Sophia’s happiness or the clan… the clan will lose every time.
Bear Again is a quick read, but one with a strong message of loving someone no matter what. Noah and Sophia had a wonderful life and neither expected Noah to be killed, but life and death happen. Sophia has to make a choice, but one that she can live with. At some point she’ll have to let Noah go and forgive him for leaving her behind. She knows that Liam loves her and she believes she loves him as well – but can she be strong enough to risk everything once again?
I have to admit there were times when I found it difficult to back up Sophia’s decisions, or even like the way she was behaving. I got that she was hurt and afraid, but that was no reason to strike out at Liam as she often did. Liam was easier for me to cheer on. He had stepped aside long ago and now his only chance at real happiness lies with one stubborn, afraid woman’s decision.
If you enjoy Shifter Romance then Bear Again is an intense love story with a unique lore.
