The critically-acclaimed hit thriller continues with more shocking horror! Is there a new serial killer from Buckaroo?! Can they unlock the town's deep secrets? Will Finch and Crane have to sell their soul to the devil to catch them?!
Someone is killing residents of Buckaroo who have tried to leave town and start over with new identities. And somehow Warren, aka Nailbiter, is in the thick of the mystery. But not in the way you might think.
As Crane sits vigil at her (and Warren's!) daughter's bedside, Finch continues to try and ferret out what's happening with the help of the FBI agent who is having the killer daydreams. This is a fun series! Recommended.
In this volume we take the show on the road. There's a new serial killer in Atlanta. How is it tied into Buckaroo? Every time we start to find out a little more about the serial killer conspiracy, that person is instantly murdered. It's becoming very frustrating. I'm still really enjoying the series as a whole though.
I'm enjoying this series more and more as it goes on. Nice Halloween theme to this volume with the usual gore. As an added bonus, Barker finally goes full bat shit crazy and actually follows through with one of her killing spree daydreams.
This gettin’ gud. I’m finally starting to get the rhythms of the story and it’s characters - maybe I’m finally paying attention to the writing? Maybe I had a good night’s sleep? Or maybe the story’s finally coming together in a way I’m not completely mystified?
I think I mostly get who the characters are now, and how they relate to each other - maybe it’s the that broke it open for me?
And the change of scenery didn’t hurt - Atlanta and its murders were a delicious little mystery to unfold.
But the most fun is finally clueing in on Barker’s episodes - .
Williamson and Henderson definitely know how to spoil out a mystery, build suspense, make you work for the details of the overarching story.

I'm still hoping this story won't end in a flop, but the suspense is still there. And there's plenty of violence to keep me going.
Buckaroo is overrun by the FBI. Alice, revealed as Crane and Warren's daughter, is recovering from her wound in the hospital. Barker, still having visions of herself killing the people around her, arrests Finch. Carroll is awake, but hidden away by the Bureau. Warren decides to leave Buckaroo on Halloween right as a new killer the media calls the Devil Killer leaves a body strung up and decorated with satanic simbols.
Me gusta, pero es estresante que el desarrollo sea un poco lento, varias cosas se han revelado y aún así siento que no avanza mucho, el anterior lo encontré mucho más entretenido y trepidante que este.
This was a really good volume, there is a story of some kids going to nailbiter's house on Halloween and then confronted by him and there is a sort of horror vibe there but its mostly warren having fun and leaving Buckaroo and then we come to Atlanta where there are a lot of sudden deaths going on and all the victims are turned to devil and they calling it "The Devil Killer" and one suspect is Daniel, a guy from Buckaroo and that makes it obvious he is guilty, only he is not and then we learn of who it really is, Officer Vaughn and his motives and we follow Abigail and Finch trying to investigate it and also Warren gets involved, more truths revealed and in another place good bonding between Shannon and Alice. This was a good volume and enriches this world and we learn more of these characters, the art is still the best part about it but that ending wow! it changes everything!
Though I'm still a huge fan of the series, this has to be my least favorite volume, so far. Very scattered plot-wise, and the fact that the writers keep dancing around the story and then in the last few pages of each volume hit you with the tease of what you REALLY want to know about is getting frustrating. Come on now, lets get to the meat (no pun intended) of this thing! Still a fun read though, of course.
Predictable, probably not worth 5 stars, but rating it 5 anyway because of the letters page on the final issue saying, "Well, I'm sure you saw that coming? Right?" Hahaha if it's intentionally predictable, I shall give credit where it's due. Overall enjoyable anyhow.
Recommended if you like: Comics/graphic novels, gore, stories about serial killers, dark stories.
This is the 4th installment of the series and we get a few new pieces of the puzzle. I enjoyed the story and the graphics but it’s moving slowly, I don’t mean the pace for the story itself, but the revealing of the important pieces to begin to piece together what’s really going on; there are new cases and secondary stories, but the main plot point isn’t developing as fast as I would like to. This is always my main problem with comics and graphic novels, they are too short, and I think that instead of having 6 volumes, you could only have 3 and make them longer.
It’s interesting, entertaining, engrossing and a fast read. I’m going to continue with the series and I recommend it if you like something on the darker side.
That ending!!!!! THE ENDING!!!!!!!!! I loved this one. This is one of those series that keep getting better and better as the story progresses! I can’t wait to read the next volume.

It's been awhile since I read Volume 3 of this series, and I found out how much I missed it. It was so easy to jump back into it. This is a really fun, horror comic. It has got the scares, it has got the secrets, it has got me hooked. I was so so ready to finally find out what happened to Carroll, what's happening in Buckaroo, but those answers were kept just out of my reach AGAIN! I want to know so badly what's going on!!! It's like that carrot held on a string in front of a horse, so close, yet so far. As always, I really like the artwork in this. I like the tones, the colors, it really goes well with the story. That TO BE CONTINUED at the end was just cruel, but I knew it was coming. If you like comics, if you like horror, I'd definitely recommend this one. I think the scares are there, the story is super interesting, and I can't wait to read more of it!
BOOKCITEMENT LEVEL 4/5 Those TO BE CONTINUED's are so, so cruel.
This series is starting to lose me as of this volume. By this point it's become apparent that they are bending over backwards to avoid telling the reader what the central mystery is about, and the writing is becoming weaker as they work to keep a lid on their big reveal. I will probably keep reading the ensuing volumes as Comixology sales allow, but I'm not going to be as rabid about seeking this out as I was at the end of Volume 1. Still recommended, but be aware that they are starting to move toward a LOST style of narrative.
I read these last four trades in a mad dash, pretty sucked into the story! I think this is where i started to really feel like the story was being drawn out a bit too much. People like Barker and Carroll and Warren all know exactly what the hell is going on, but none of them are just revealing what happened the second they get out. Especially having read all the way through, this all just seems like a giant misstep in terms of motivation and actions. Watching everyone try to choose their moment is a bit too convenient.
In terms of actual action, there's some good stuff!
Is this actually starting to get a bit better or am I imagining it? I'm starting to suspect that the Nailbiter isn't a bad guy after all, but the secret hero of this whole thing. Anyway, it's got its hooks into me now...
There's a lot of movement in v4, yet it still manages to avoid much in the way of revelations. A new Buckaroo Butcher is killing people in Atlanta. Agent Barker keeps having strange violent fantasies. Carroll is awake but doesn't get the chance to disclose what he learned about Buckaroo's secrets.
Not a terrible volume but the pacing needs to be tweaked.
