The combination of the synopsis and that cute cover convinced me to give this book a shot. And I’m so happy I did!

Aislinn is a bit of shy girl, content being on her own, not going out much, not dating…She does have a crush on someone, has had it for quite some time. But according to her the boy is too far out of her reach. Besides her crush is dating miss super bitch, who is already set on making her school life hell. No need to give her more motivation.

When her brother, Connor, comes home from college he brings with him a buddy of his. One look at the stranger and Aislinn’s jaw drops open. The following weeks will prove to be quite interesting.

In this book Aislinn makes many changes, they don’t happen all at once or out of nowhere. There’s a slow build up to them, which I really appreciate. As I mentioned before there’s a miss bitch who’s nothing short of a bully. It was hard to read that Aislinn could stick up for others but when the bullying centered on her she would rather walk away, and many times that is exactly what she did. Luckily she has a best friend who has her back.

Connor’s buddy, Teagan, isn’t at all what I had expected. Despite his reputation as a player he is really good for Aislinn. His presence in the Munroe house brings many excitements, one is in the form of a ginormous dog. Overall Teagan is kind and respectful, he’s a bit quiet as well which makes it kind of difficult to read him at times. That’s all part of the allure I guess.

Too bad Connor doesn’t have any of those qualities. This guy can be a real pain in the butt. As he’s a brother I’ll give him a pass on many inconsiderate moments. But even that has a limit. My opinion of him goes up and down throughout the story and in the end I’m all kinds of twisted in them. I can only imagine how Connor himself must be feeling.

Despite all of the heavy stuff I really love this story, it’s cute and funny. It portrays brother sister relationships perfectly as well as how fragile a first relationship can be. All combined I would say Pivotal Moments is a prefect summer read. At least, that’s the vibe I got while reading.

I’m going to rate this read 4,5 stars. Yes, this read made Trinity Hanrahan a new favorite author of mine and I can’t wait to read the other installments in this series. Please tell me we won’t have to wait long for them.

2.5 “Aislinn Fit” STARS

ARC via NetGalley.

Thank you, Limitless Publishing

There are times when I choose to read a book because it’s completely different from everything else I’ve read, but most of the times I find myself drawn to stories that contain elements I’m already familiar with. When looking for contemporary romance (YA or A), I often try to go for the famous tropes, like enemies to lovers, love triangles, falling for you BFF or falling for your older brother’s BFF, which was Pivotal Moments’ case.

While its similarity with other books in the same age category and genre will have me itching to read it, what will make a book stand out will be its ability to turn the tropes into something original. And that was where this book lost me.

Meet Aislinn (or Ash), a senior in high school who goes back home one day to find her older brother has returned from college to spend spring break with them, and he didn’t come alone. Teagan, the brother’s super handsome, super sexy BFF will be staying with them. Guess what? He’s interested in Ash the moment he sees her. Insta love, anyone? *sighs* That’s basically the entire thing: Ash and Teagan falling for each other overnight. If you’re looking for an elaborated plot, I’m afraid this won’t be your thing.

The lack of plot didn’t bother me that much, because I (hate to say this) was too busy trying to get through the bunch of clichés that were thrown together in order to make this into a book.

Smart, insecure, but gorgeous MC who didn’t see how beautiful she was? Check.

Drop dead gorgeous BFF whose only purposes were to make the MC even more insecure about her appearance & listen to the MC complain about her life? Check.

Super sexy, older guy who fell for the MC right after they met? Check.

Bitchy cheerleader? Check.

Overconfident football player? Check.

Overprotective brother? Check.

Every little thing you could find in a YA-cliché-list was there, and it wasn’t done in a way that made it fresh. I just kept waiting for something different and exciting to happen, but I was disappointed.

My biggest problem with the story, though, was the MC. Aislinn was introduced as this insecure, inexperienced and naïve girl, but in reality she was simply incredibly immature. Every time something didn’t go her way, she’d throw one of what Teagan later named as an “Aislinn Fit”. She’d cry, she’d stop talking, she’d refuse to tell the other person what was going on until they had to plead over and over again. The number of times Teagan pleaded with her to let him in was unreal. I doubt an older guy would deal with a behavior like that from his younger girlfriend without getting pissed off. Somehow, Teagan managed to remain patient and calm while she acted like a stubborn child.

Aislinn often came across as selfish, too. She didn’t seem to care about her BFF, Tracey at all. The poor girl dealt with Aislinn’s drama for years until she had enough and told her to get her shit together before calling her back. Totally understandable. Instead of trying to do just that, Aislinn focused on her relationship with Teagan and completely ignored Tracey. Not until Teagan practically forced her to call her ex-BFF, did she make a move to reestablish their friendship. It conveniently happened when Aislinn needed someone to talk to again. And when this thing happened (spoilers) and Tracey learned about something that broke her heart, did Aislinn step up and tried to be there for her friend? Nope. Of course not. She was too busy with Teagan again.

I get that this was their love story, but taking every other aspect of the MC’s life away from her so she can focus solely on her new boyfriend wasn’t the right move.

Neither was having Teagan call her “babe”, “baby”, “sweetheart”, “honey” every freaking sentence.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked Teagan. He had a lot of potential to be even more interesting, but he was intriguing enough. My problem was definitely with Aislinn.

I also liked Zver, the huge and adorable dog. I wanted more of him. Zver, kmone and let’s be friends. *heart eyes*

Overall, this was an okay read, but it lack originally and relied too much on clichés to make it something memorable.

Pivotal Moments is Trinity's debut novel and I can't say enough about how much I was blown away by it!!!I was drawn into it in the first paragraph. The novel is a quick read, built by realistic characters and situations. It contains some swearing, appropriately used. By far it is blossoming romance between Ash and Teeg but the novel has so much more. It encompasses normal situations that high school students and young adults face and between family and friends.

The novel is written by Ash's point of view. She is naïve, inexperienced when it comes to boys, and doesn't have much self esteem about her looks. There are valid reasons for her self-doubts. Her friends, family, and new boyfriend, Teeg, tell her often how beautiful she is both inside and out. As the reader, I found myself wanting to reach out and shake Ash, to tell her to believe them and to believe in herself. I could relate to Ash and I'm sure other readers could too. The novel is that powerful!

Teeg... OMG, he seems dreamy. But like any realistic person, he has flaws. He is open about his flaws and how he has changed. Teeg is older than Ash, a roommate of Ash's older brother from college. Teeg and Ash experience in relationships is vastly different. Ash is just 17 and Teeg is 23. After a couple of weeks together, he has to go back to college and the two have to sustain a long distance relationship. These are just some the things the two have to face, and I found myself rooting for them even more.

The only negative thing I can say is the novel ended. It didn't have any ending cliffhangers, which is a nice relief. It DOES however leave me in Ash and Teeg withdrawn. What will I read next? LOL.

I loved, LOVED this novel!!! I highly recommend it.

NOTE: I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

Aislinn is your typical teen who shares many of the insecurities about her body and concerns about college that teens have. As she’s nearing the end of her senior year her focus is on her college preparation, and while she has never been part of the popular crowd, she has her best friend Penny at her side and that’s all she needs...Enter, swoon worthy Teagan, her brother’s delicious college friend with a heartbreaker past and his eye on Aislinn. However, things may not be smooth sailing, with an overprotective brother, the mean girls out to get her and her own anxieties holding her back, there is going to be some turbulent waters.

---------

I am on the fence with this book. While I enjoyed it for its entertainment value, it was just lacking something which I can’t quite put my finger on. While there were certain aspects which I imagine many teens can relate to, such as the main characters insecurities and lack of self-esteem. I fear I am past the point in my life where I find these things as relatable as I once did. However, I commend the author on the emotional growth of the character, there is nothing worse than when a character doesn’t learn anything. But Aislinn, learned to both believe in and stand up for herself.

I did enjoy the cute fluffy romance at times, even if it was a little cheesy. Teagan was an easily likeable character and his past indiscretions were a good addition as they made him more ‘human’, since he sometimes came off as too flawless. Penny and Connor (and Zver for that matter) made great supporting characters. Although Connors big protective brother routine became almost frustrating, especially considering his own poor decisions.

Overall, an entertaining read if you’re looking for something fluffy to fill your summer days, which I think a younger YA audience would enjoy. However, for me there was a certain predictability to the plot that was a little too formulaic for my taste.

Pivotal Moments is the author's debut novel and it was such a refreshing great read. It was very well written with realistic characters and real life situations. I was  hooked from the very first word to the very last and I never wanted it to end! I wanted more Teagan and Aislinn!

The novel is told in Aislinn's point of view. She is naive and inexperienced when it comes to boys and doesn't have the best self esteem when it comes to her looks. Aislinn, or Ash, was real and very easy to relate to. Her friends, family, and new boyfriend, Teagan always tell her how beautiful she is both on the inside and on the outside. She has the insecurities, thoughts, and reactions that any 17 year old high school girl would have. I could totally relate to all the things she was experiencing because I remember how it was in high school.

I absolutely loved Teagan! He is so sweet and affectionate towards Aislinn and is always telling her how beautiful and amazing she is. But like any person, he isn't perfect and doesn't try to be. He has quite the playboy past but he is up front with Ash about his lurid past and how he has completely changed for the better. Teagan is a few years older than Ash, a roommate of Ash's older brother Connors from college. They both have vastly different experiences when it comes to relationships. When Teagan has to go back to college after being away on spring break for two weeks, they have to deal with being in a new relationship as well as cope with the distance. This is only one of the hardships that they have to deal with in their new coupledom.

I absolutely loved this book and how refreshing and real it is! I am in serious Teagan and Ash withdrawals! I wish the author would have written in alternating point of views so I could have learned more of Teagan's background and thoughts and feelings on things but I still enjoyed this book very much! I can't wait to see what Trinity has in store for us next!

Pivotal Moments

Firstly I want to state that I first came across this story on Wattpad so when I heard it was being revamped and published I was both excited and a little anxious over how the story would change.

What I can say is that you wont be disappointed. For those who have already read this, let me say that it is well worth buying this for the author has been generous to her fans. For those who have never seen this story before, well you guys are in for a real treat.

Pivotal Moments is a great Young Adult/New Adult romance fiction centered around Aislinn and the oh so sexy bad boy, Teagan. Aislinn is one of the most realistic teen characters I have read in a long time. She isn’t perfect, she has curves and a personality that I find rather endearing even if at times I wanted to kick her ass.

Teagan is…well…he is one of the most sexy bad boy, turned good, that I have read in this genre. He is right up there for me with Adrian from Vampire Academy. I love how the author gives us a deeper insight into his personality as the book progresses. Teagan is the ying to Aislinn’s yang. Together this unlikely duo will do everything in their power to make things work but will their love be enough?

Trinity Hanrahan is one very talented storyteller. She takes the reader on a journey, one with unforeseen ups and downs. As a reader, you can’t help but to be drawn into every little moment. I have found myself laughing, crying and cursing during reading this novel. This is one story I give five very well deserved stars to. Love this story and can’t wait for the next installment in this series.

I first read this book after one of the many nights I had been up late surfing the internet trying to feed my over active brain. I stumbled upon this story on Wattpad and it couldn't have come at more perfect time. I had just ran out out of both ebooks and physical copies of things to occupy my time. I'm not usually one to re-read a story so reading something again wasn't really appealing; I craved something fresh. That all changed after discovering the talent that is Trinity Hanrahan. Her characters are incredible and captivating. The beauty of Aislinn is how relatable she is, it is so easy to find yourself within the story. I was Ash. I have the same insecurities. I get lost in my head. I understand her and that's because of the way this author writes. She moves you with her words and style and shows you that you're not alone through her characters' hardships. Pivotal Moments was so good that I physically couldn't put away my tablet. I laughed, I cried, I cursed characters out and found myself so sucked in that I mourned the loss of entertainment when I finished the story. I loved the book so much that for the first time ever I re-read a story. I have read this book now a grand total of 10 times and the best part is that it never gets old. If you have not read Pivotal Moments, do it. You won't regret it because it's impossible not to fall in love with these characters and Trinity Hanrahan's outstanding ability to write what you didn't know you needed.

I liked the book overall but was kind of surprised how sexist all the males were in this book. Aislinn is an introvert who has low self esteem. Her brother, Connor, is protective and overbearing. Teague is gorgeous and his friend. a relationship between Teague and Aislinne develops very slowly. He is 5 years older than her and she is quite immature.
I like parts of this book that describe their relationship, but some parts felt a little stilted.
She doesn't believe when people tell her she's gorgeous and attractive and that guys are interested in her, because of her low self-esteem. It's a constant battle in the book.
There is a miscommunication towards the end of this book I won't go into which shapes their relationship going into book 2. Blake, Teague's brother, seems like an extraneous plot point. I wish there were more chapters with Penny. She stands out.
All in all, a decent read and I am currently reading the first chapter of book two. I hope there's more character development on everyone's part.
Happy reading!

I love how the author wrote characters that readers could relate too. High school is a tough place to be when there's bullies and you're self-conisuous about your weight. Aislinn is 5'3" and a size 14. I think I loved her even more because she was not a stick figure we get in YA books.

Aislinn was the poster child of her family until the day she gets into a fight at school. Her reasoning for this fight made me love her. When she comes home, she finds her older brother is back and he brought a friend, Teagan. Ohmygod, I wish Teagen would show up at my house with his dog. ;)

There are some cliched scenes that you always find in YA books but the author knows how to write different characters so you don't get the same person over and over again.

I first read this as book on Wattpad and was completely engrossed from the start. From the first few pages, Trinity Hanrahan expertly draws you into the life of Aislinn Monroe in a deep and fully immersive way. You will find yourself rooting for this girl, sympathising with her and loving her completely. The story never loses pace and yet still manages to reveal intimate details of each character's personality and life.
So if you want a book that is impossible to put down, a cover to cover read; one that is light-hearted, funny and yet deals with the honest and every day issues of a high school senior and graduate, then Pivotal Moments IS that book.

I will read just about anything, but I have to be honest—I didn't know if I would like this. I read it based on a recommendation and was completely surprised. This book was hilarious! It was extremely refreshing to read a book with a character's internal monologue so starkly honest. I couldn't put this down as I laughed, cringed, and cried with Aislinn, and followed her through some pivotal moments (pun intended). I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I would hands down recommend this book to everyone, especially those trying to stay away from angsty, teen-fuelled dramas; I was one of those, and this book does NOT fit into that box. It may just change your mind on the genre! :)

If you added mystery, romance, and comedy together, you would get an unbelievably beautiful story. Also known as, Pivotal Moments. The way Trinity expresses emotions within each character is amazing. This book is so well written! I've never read anything like it. She displays a deep knowledge of a high school girl with many insecurities about her body living in a judgmental world but still overcoming all the bias and finding herself within. I can't wait to have my own copy of the story!

Sorry it's over!

This has got to be one of the BEST young adult novels I have ever read. I never wanted the story to end. I started it late last night and resented every moment that I had to put it down to do something else. It was so well written me the characters seemed so real. I can't wait to read something else from this author. Well done! Well done!

Young Adult books are not my norm but this book was very good! Aislinn was an introvert and she was getting prepared for college. She was having a bit of a hard time. Her brother brought home a houseguest from college, Teagan, a former player and he and Aislinn became friends. They had their differences but they figured it out and made this a great story! I really can't wait to read the next book! I give this 4.5 stars and a strong recommendation!

A very good book

I quite enjoyed this book. Totally not what I expected from a YA novel and I was pleasantly surprised. Loved how real the storyline was. The characters are human and flawed and so very true to life.
A must read.

I got this book thinking it was a clean romance as it had been marketed as such. It’s not. I loved the storyline but could definitely have done without the constant swearing and there were some scenes were sex was depicted. Disappointed that it wasn’t a clean read but great story overall.

I love finding new authors and Trinity Hanrahan is someone I definitely will be looking out for in the future. Pivotal Moments is her debut and one I'm sure that will get her noticed. It is hard for authors I think now to be original and new when it comes to New Adult romances and so many are the same. What I liked about this book was the way Trinity made me feel the connection, I really felt like I was Ash.

Ash and Teeg's romance isn't really anything new where NA books are concerned. However, I loved Zver (The beast) and I think much of my enjoyment of this book was because of him! Ash as a character was pretty immature, the girl through tantrums all the time, was slightly self centered when it came to her thought processes and I just wanted to shake her due to her lack of self confidence. So you've got curves girl? Join the club and rock those bad boys! Still Teeg was pretty cool, not and loving so that kind of helped. There's definitely some insta-love in this book, so if you hate that kind of thing then maybe avoid this one.

There's a great cast of other characters although I admit they are a little stereo typical. What I really liked about this book was the age gap, you often get a 1-2 year between love interests but they gap was greater with these 2 (And not bordering on the 'weird/freaky' side of things). I liked her Teeg accepted that Ash wasn't ready for things and took everything at her pace - if only more real life guys were like that huh?

My pet hate would probably be Ash's tantrums in this book, her immaturity which both I've mentioned already and Teeg's pet names for Ash. At times he used babe, sweetheart and other terms f endearment so often I did wonder if he'd forgot her name - I'm joking of course but you get what I mean.

There's no cliffhanger with this book which is great as its a series by the looks of things, there's a sweet HEA and a cut couple too. I've no real hate or dislike for this book, everything levelled out nicely I thought. 3.5-4 stars, this was barely a 4 but I'm feeling good about the story and liked Trinity's writing style.

Overall I really loved this book. There were a few problems or things that struck me as a little odd. But first I will start with what I liked and what will keep me coming back for the next three books.. Yes three, I messaged the author on Facebook because I had to know who's story was next.. I love Zver, obviously! Makes me want a high maintenance dog, sort of. OK, so I loved that a lot of what happened and the reactions were real life reactions. I know some people have complained about Aislinn's insecurities and being naïve, but weren't we all that way in our first relationship? I know I sure was, and I'm pretty positive I responded the exact same way she did to a lot of situations! Was she a little annoying at times? Yes, but I overthought everything when I was in her shoes. Now one thing that was odd to me was Where is "my Teeg"? In a nutshell, this story had some oddities but I fell in love with the characters and will be waiting to see how it finishes out..Except I'm not super excited to have a sequel to this particular story because I know books need drama and when I fall in love with a couple it hurts my heart to see them go through hard times!

So I'm hoping Aislinn will have some character development in the sequel, I think she will be a pretty amazing character once she's matured and found herself and some self-esteem.

Aishlinn Munroe is happy living her life without being noticed by well anyone. She is almost done with her senior year of high school and is ready to move to the next stage of her life: college. She doesn't mind going unnoticed and frankly wouldn't know how to handle the attention. She didn't count on Teagan Aldridge.

Teagan Aldridge didn't expect to fall for his roommates little sister but he can't help himself with he meets Aislinn Munroe. She is beautiful inside and out and the air of innocence makes her even more attractive. Teagan sets about getting his girl.

Aislinn is unsure how Teagan sees her but is convinced he won't be interested in his friend's little sister. Can Teagan convince her that he is sincere and very interested or will Aislinn let her own insecurities ruin what could be the the best thing in her life?

I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the blurb on this book but I am so glad I didn't let my hesitance keep me from reading this story. This book is one that every young lady needs to read not just because of the love story but because of the message about not letting your fears and insecurities keep you from living life. I hope everyone that reads this book gets the same message I did. I will be checking out more books by Trinity and so should you.

I received an eARC from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I requested this book on Netgalley because it’s a contemporary read and I LOVE contemporaries. They usually captivate me, but this is one I really don’t like.

First of all, the writing style is kind of childish. This is a story from Wattpad and I can definitely see why, the writing style isn’t that developed, this makes it annoying to read right from the start. As a reader, I just had the feeling that I was regarded as a child in some ways.

Also, I was so annoyed by the male protoganist, Teagan. He couldn’t stop saying ‘baby’, ‘babe’, ‘honey’ and ‘sweetheart’ to Aislinn. After seriously three times I got fed up with it. I hate the words ‘baby’ and ‘babe’ and it was very unoriginal.

In addition, the relationship between Aislinn and Teagan is really unrealistic. They met each other one day and several moments later they were deeply in love. This phenomenon is called instalove but I'm not a big fan of it. Everything is put in such a high speed while this would have never happened in real life.

It is also very bugging me that Aislinn is so uncertain. I understand that you are insecure, but the way Aislinn is, really gets on my nerves. And I must say, she can be a real pain in the ass (and a first class bitch). Teagan has to be so deeply in love (well we all know that love makes blind) because if I'd been him already would have left her.

Fortunately, Pivotal Moments hasn’t changed my look on contemporary, but now I'm afraid to pick up the wrong contemporaries. Conclusion: it was just a stupid book. I give Pivotal Moments two stars.

Book Review- Pivotal Moments by Trinity Hanrahan

Aislinn Munroe is dreading going home. She knows her mother is going to be mad because of what happened at school. It isn’t her day especially when she has to pack on the street. Someone is in her spot in the drive way. It turns out her brother Connor is home for Spring Break. He brought his roommate Teagan and Teeg’s dog, Zver. Zver is huge and scares Ash half to death when he comes to say hi. Then she is completely shocked when she gets a good look at Teagan. He is pretty hot but it seems she has been placed in the little sister zone which is worse than the friend zone. Ash knows better than to get her hopes up. Teagan wouldn’t be interested in anyone like her anyway. She doesn’t have many friends, she doesn’t date and she is overweight. Her insecurities are front and center.
Teagan likes Aislinn instantly. She is sweet, funny and smart. He also knows how innocent she is. He sees how she cares and soft-hearted she is. She is beautiful inside and out and he is determined to show her that.
I absolutely loved this book. In fact I read it twice before I reviewed it. It was a feel good story. Aislinn has so many insecurities. I can completely understand why which helps relate to the character. The author walked a fine line of keeping Aislinn from falling into the completely annoying category. She made it work and then throw in Teagan. He was swoon worthy and a man every woman should have in her life. You just want to be Aislinn in order to be loved like that. I totally recommend this fabulous love story to any reader. I give it a 5 out of 5.

I received a copy of this book via Netgallery in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet romantic story line.

Aislinn is a senior in highschool still trying to find her place, she is inexperienced with boys and has self esteem issues, she doesn't have many friends and has outcasted herself from the world. Sometimes I felt like Aislinn was a bit immature for her age, but other then that I though she was a good strong character.

Teagan is your typical bad boy turned good, but he has such a soft sweet side to him as well. He has dealt with many issues to get him to were he is. Even though Aislinn likes to hide herself Teeg found something in her that brought her out and them together. Even though there was a bit of an age gap between them they did not let them stop them from being together. They had a real strong connection and was not going to let anyone stop them.

I liked the secondary characters in the story as well they brought drama to the story and hopefully maybe a book about Penny and Connor???? I loved the dog Zver. He was a big part of the book and it was such a different dog then what you would read in any other book. He brought lots of laughs to the book.

One thing I didn't really care for in the book was the ending. I didn't think there was much to the ending.

I would recommend this book and can't wait to read more from this author.

I'm not one to read YA novels but I really liked the cover and the description was intriguing so I figure that I'd give it a shot.

Aislinn was a good heroine. But half the time she annoyed me with her whiny tendencies. Some times she seemed amazing and then she would do something to make me dislike her.

Teagan was great. I was expecting him to be a big jerk, but he really surprised me. He ha a bad boy past but he was a good guy.

There was a slow burn romance that forms from the start with amazing attraction and slowly morphed into something more. While you can see the attraction that the heroine has for the hero, you can't feel it.

As for the plot, there really wasn't much., it was a older brothers friend type romance, but also opposites attract. The heroine had a lot of her own issues and I felt that too main stage and took away from the rest of the story.

Overall, this is why I don't like YA books. I don't particularly care for immature characters and the heroin and showed her true colors through most of this book and seemed too whiny and immature. I was waiting for something more and I was a little let down. 3 stars #2OCCJD
