Once Upon a Midnight Anthology

Kenna and Gunnar meet, they're mates and live a ridiculously happy ever after.

The story started off pretty interesting, but besides a random shooting and minor labor difficulties nothing happened. The most stress they had was thinking about where to go for Christmas. It was almost like an extended epilogue...but it was way too long for that so it was just boring.

I love this addition to the series. I enjoyed going back to see what happened after Kenna and Gunnar met. I also enjoyed the fact that the author included updates on most of the family members, new babies and such. Kenna and Gunnar's story was different from the others because they were both raised with the knowledge that they would one day find their forever mate, so there was no doubt on either of their parts, at least not the kind that the other women exhibited. I love that this story not only showed their mating but it shows you events that takes place a year after their mating. The story takes place over about a year and a half time span so you get a larger look into their life together. There is one more book at this time, Bound by Sight, which comes out in about 2 weeks I think. I can't wait to read it and I hope the author has plans to write more stories. I would love to see Gillian get her HEA, as well as Cameron. Plus, I'd like to now the names of Grace and Max's 2 children.

Kenna and Gunnar's story was different from the others because they were both raised with the knowledge that they would one day find their forever mate, like Payton and Brodie. However, unlike Payton, they were both well over 25, so there was no doubt on either of their parts about whether they belonged together. I love that this story not only showed their mating, but it also shows you events that takes place after their mating. The story takes place over roughly a year and a half time span, so you get a larger look into their life together.

Another great festive read from Piper Davenport! This story is part catch up and part new romance. I always enjoy when Piper writes about two Cauld Ane getting together. Normally there has to be an explanation and such when the romance is between and human and Cauld Ane. Which don't get me wrong is awesome but it is fun to see the other side of the Cauld Ane world! Kenna has waited for hundreds of years to meet her mate and then in walks Gunner. This is a quick story of insta Claud Ane bonding around the holiday season. It has all the great elements of the previous books but with the festive feel of the holidays. This is a must for anyone who has read the Cauld Ane series! If you have not read the series treat yourself today!

Great must read series

I truly enjoyed the Cauld Ane series 1-8. The background stories are different than other books. The H were strong alphas but completely loving to their mates. The H were strong women with opinions that came through clearly. It was great to read HEA stories. Only downfall, many of the extra characters had the same name. That became very annoying and somewhat confusing at times. There are hundreds of thousands of names, 'Smith," though quite common and popular is not every person in every town around the world.

Gunner is waiting and wondering who is mate is. Kenna doesn’t think she will ever find her mate. Kenna’s sister Payton goes into labor. Kenna and her other sister rush to be by her side. Gunner is in the home when Payton goes into labor, when he senses his mate. Kenna is very independent will she be able to handle Gunner’s overprotectiveness? How are they going to make it through Christmas with family everywhere? Can the come together in one place? Come join the festivities and find out.

Bound by Joy...

Cauld Ane Series book 8. Kenna gets her happy ever after. Gunner is a total alpha. His two brothers found their mates and now he has too. Both of them already know the culture so it was a simple burn intense courtship. This book was angsty and passionate. I loved seeing the whole clan together with the human family as well on the holidays. And all the new babies are beautiful. Plus If Sophia gets book she is gonna be something to see if rather read. Onto the next book.

I didn't want it to end...

I have enjoyed the Cauld Ane series so much, I really could have just kept reading book after book so knowing this was the last one in this series was rather bitter sweet. Gunnar and Kenna's story was told with more of a lightness than the others - especially set against the backdrop of the Christmas season and with the help of all of their family and friends to help them celebrate, it really made this story special.

While this is shorter than the rest in the series, it was perfect. Kenna and Gunnar were a breath of fresh air.
They're both very family oriented with strong values and familial ties. The extended family just keeps growing. I loved the quick peak into the rest of the clan that we've come to adore and there's no better excuse than the holiday season to bring everyone together. By the end of the story, we have new branches on each of the family trees and new traditions to share.

I loved this book because of Kenna and Gunner's story, but also catching up with most of the series characters plus BABIES. Some of this storyline reminded me of some of my family Christmas's when several branches of the family were together. ❤ Thank you Ms Davenport! This storyline/series is well developed and thought out with characters we have come to love. I can't wait to read the next book Bound By Sight.

A great Christmas-time read

I loved this Novella. The setting in Iceland at Christmas sounds so fantastic that I wish I could be there with the Cauld Ane/Kalt Einn families, and not just for the hot men!

I’m Scottish and I loved Kenna and her sister’s conversations as they were so typically Scottish. I also liked the reference to Belhaven beer which is brewed in Edinburgh.

Just not as well done as the previous books

The book lacks depth and detail. I understand it’s a novella as opposed to full length but those can still display good story telling and that’s absent here. The dialog is simplistic, there’s little story arc build and no character development. Very disappointing if it’s the last taste we’ll have of this universe.

Quick, nice little holiday type read. It features people we had met in the other stories. In this one Kenna and Gunnar meet and Immediately realize they are mates. The story continues to all of the family meeting for Christmas with a bit of excitement thrown in. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. Otherwise, I recommend.

Okay not disappointed

Jenna is a great character. She was introduced early on in the series. Strong working woman taking care of a rock band. She also works with battered woman just a badass woman. He mate is a prince and the best kind alpha.

I love how the families come together for a sweet catch up . just read it you would t be Diane appointed.

A good one albeit short

I enjoyed this adventure of two Cauld Ane finding their mate instead of one being human. It was quick but we got a glimpse of happily ever after with their little one. I just wish it was longer, just because I really enjoy these books!

Kenna and Gunnar find each other at the birth of her nephew and are bound that same night. Both have waited along time for their mates and are happy. We also get to visit theorem Cauld Ane families and join in their holiday festivities in this sweet and sexy story.

This is a short story in the series. Kenna and Gunner are both of the “cold ones”. So when they meet it is understood by both that they are mates. There wasn’t a lot of convincing to be done by either of them. It’s kinda a done deal.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. Kenna is absolutely a power woman! Gunner is a good character as well. I love how she tied these families together, and we get to spend the holidays with them.

This sweet novella loaded a lot of content into a shorter story. It was also set during the holidays so we got to see previous characters. Hopefully we'll get to see them all again.

A good easy read. We saw a brief glimpse of these two meeting so it was nice to see their story and to read about what other couples are doing.

It was good!

The only thing that I didn't like is that the book was short other than that I enjoyed the book and characters.
