Welcome to family therapy, Fairholm style.

When Osiris headquarters fell, Frankie ran away with Spark Dawson, hoping the open ocean would wash the chaos of her life away. The Nameless, and her own primal urges, soon intrude and before Frankie knows it, she and Spark are traveling to Hong Kong to face what’s left of the company.

There she finds her entire family under the protection of the Sha Lù. Kat and Addi are pissed, Nero has given up, Judah won’t let anyone leave, and her mother and aunts are getting along for once in their lives. Things are weird.

Because Frankie’s life is never complicated enough, Spark becomes dead set on uncovering the deadly secrets Judah hid from him–and gets more than anyone bargained for in the answers he discovers.

Tensions are high and morality is low as Frankie starts unraveling the threads that bind them all together. As old ghosts haunt her thoughts and new enemies dance just outside her reach, she has choices to make that determine the future of everyone she knows. Now all she has to do is convince everyone she knows what she’s doing.

After all, if Osiris doesn’t fight the Nameless, they’ll all have to hide behind the Sha Lù for the rest of their lives...and the wine supply is running out.

Where do I even start with my love for this book. Not just this book- this entire series- but today we are talking about TOTALLY WASTED. Or as I like to call it, THE BEST ENDING TO A SERIES IN THE UNIVERSE. Or maybe ALTHOUGH I LOVE THIS BOOK TO DEATH I WISH IT WEREN'T THE LAST. I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Let's start with pour favorite main character. Frankie Fairholm is a dynamo. She's badass in all the ways a female assassin should be, but she's also flawed and might possibly be coming apart at the seams, which makes her oh-so-relateable and super easy to identify with. I mean, who else can make you feel like you want to be besties with someone who kills for a living except Cara Vescio. Nobody- that's who. Frankie is back in this book with a vengeance, and I loved her to pieces. I wanted her to kill. I wanted her to survive. I wanted her to love. And thankfully, in TOTALLY WASTED, she does all three with panache.

Moving on...nobody writes fucked up family dynamics like Cara Vescio, and in TOTALLY WASTED we are thrust right back into the Fairholm family where everyone is screwy and possibly just a little scared. But not. You be the judge. Kat and Addi are back, and they steal the show in every scene they're in. I absolutely love this family, and in TOTALLY WASTED we get the conclusion to their stories.

If you love excite locales and non-stop action, you're going to be in reading heaven with TOTALLY WASTED. It's a hefty book (thank God) but the best thing about it is that not a paragraph is wasted. Every page is fraught with action and tension that left me turning pages long into the night. I love a book that leaves me feeling just a little bit on edge, and there is so much danger in this book. It's seriously fast-paced and compulsively readable.

Although I'm super sad that this book signals the end to the WASTED series, it was everything I could have hoped for in a series ending. I fell in love with these characters three books ago and loved this conclusion.

Start with ELEGANTLY WASTED and work your way here. You won't be disappointed.

Kat punched Frankie!?!?

Grandad Yeh has been chasing the white rabbit too long.

Watch out! Frankie is going to lose it! F* Bombs will fly and none will be safe!

Kat! You vicious, wino bitch! I love you! Pour me a glass, will ya?

Ohhh Frankie, your sarcasm warms my heart.

Spark, put your big girl panties on and quit being a shit!

Ohhh, Marko, you creepy Fuck!

Frankie! Rip his balls off!

Ya know, when the "save Frankie" show blows in ( bah haha pun intended) ya gonna be sorry, or slushy...Probably both.

I know this looks like someone with touretts syndrome reading something rather counterproductive to peacefulness. That might be rather amusing in a stuffy library, but alas, it is not the case here. These are simply a sampling of my thoughts while reading the third book in the Wasted Series by C. Elizabeth Vescio. I have followed this author since reading Elegantly Wasted. The first book in the series snatched my attention in a vice grip with love of wine, and limitless sarcasm. Much like Frankie, my first language is sarcasm and the fantastic comments she makes truly warmed my heart and made me smile. All of the characters in all three books are so amazing. Honestly, I would love to meet the people that inspired these characters. They must be amazing people. In this, the third book, we see a different side of Frankie as she is grieving the loss of a brother and confidant, and constantly on the defensive. At the same time we see her truly step up and become the person everyone needs. I don’t want to give away the story, so I won’t give specifics, but I will say that the series couldn't have ended more perfectly. I can’t wait to see more from this author.

First of all, thanks a lot GoodReads for not posting my first review... I don't know if I'll be able to replicated it now...

Anyway, this book. This book is one of my favorites...ever. I mean the whole Wasted Series is in my top 3 (as 1 entry because you have to read all of them), along with Gone With The Wind. I want to be Frankie when I grow up...hell, I want to be her now because I'm sure I'd feel better if I shot or stabbed something...I digress.

The stakes are high, the action is...actiony, and the family drama is the things that Dallas or Dynasty minus the big hair, questionable wardrobe, and shoulder pads, are made of. Or King Lear if you're getting Shakespearean.

Read the whole series, trust me. You will love it. I'd write more but I have an earache, so I'm going to self medicate with wine...just like in the books.

Total Thrill Ride!
Man, I was almost scared to read this book, knowing that it was the stopping point for now (and all the character’s lives hung in the balance). Frankie kicks ass as the book starts, and doesn’t stop until the end. She’s vulnerable, but strong and keeps her snark going to the last pages. It made me laugh, cry, and want to sign up to be a contract killer. I love wasted, I love the characters and this was a beautifully dark story. Kudos to Vescio for creating a world of kickass killer heroines. #TeamFrankie

Jesus Christ. I was taken on a fucking roller coaster ride through crazy town and I purposely stayed to see how far my mind could be fucked... Good shit, full review to come soon!

Merged review:

I loved this book, it had everything you have come to expect from C. Vescio and everything you didn't know you needed. The characters are well-developed and they take you on an adventure with them. You experience first hand the angst, drama, forgiveness, psychotic-ness, and the heart-stopping moments that take your breath away and Fuck up your head all in the same heartbeat. We get answers, revenge, and may even see a new side to Frankie that hasn't been explored in the previous books. This family is not all roses and sunshine. They are dark, twisted, psychotic assholes, but they have loyalty, respect, honor, and maybe even a little love intertwined to make you feel the connections of the characters.

C. Vescio did a PHENOMENAL job on this series and even if this last book dragged in places and it seemed like it took forever to get through, the journey was well worth the lack of sleep, the angst, and every other imaginable emotion she put me through. The story pulled me in from the beginning, grabbed my attention, and did not let go, even when I was begging for mercy.

If you have not read this series yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? Seriously amazeballs!

Meet the world of Frankie--yet another tale where music, tv and movies references are on every page, fashion and materialism haunt the forefront of the main characters, and everyone is quick with witty and snarky dialogue.

In short--white girl problems part three.

I have never hated characters more than the ones in this book. Fortunately for them, EVERYONE has happy endings and closure.

What started out as a recommendation from a friend for a book that sounded interesting, has forced me to trudge through all three in the series. The only silver lining in the third book is that at least the plot line was original, even if it was completely brain candy and pulp for twenty something girls.

So glad to have this done with. Oh look, there is a book four, makes me wonder if she's getting paid to drop all the endorsements ....

Once again, couldn't put it down!

The third book is I think the best due to the action and multiple character story lines being developed right from the beginning!

Hope there will be more to follow! I couldn't put this one down.. now to go save myself from getting fired due to reading most of my shift...
