Assassin's Mate
Scarlett Jennings is on the run from a sadistic ex-fiancé. She takes refuge on a supernatural cruise liner as a dancer. She doesn’t make plans for her future because she knows he will find her someday. Brock Martin is part of an order of assassins. He hops on the supernatural cruise to kill his next target but is intercepted by a red-headed tigress. After one kiss he makes plans to take out his mark and spend the rest of the week courting the beautiful dancer. I love pretty much ANYTHING from Jami Brumfield, 'Assassin's Mate' is another one on my LOVE list. 'Assassin's Mate' is book 1 in Jami's new series "Supernaturally Shipwrecked".
I really enjoyed this short new story from Jami, Scarlett is on the run, hoping a cruise liner would keep her hidden from her ex-fiance. Brock is on a mission, he an assassin but just before he finds out his next target, he bumps into this fiery red head.... I loved this short, intense read,it sucked me in, keeping me glued to my ereader until the last word. I can't wait to read what happens next in this series.

Assassin's Mate (Supernaturally Shipwrecked Book 1) by Jami Brumfield is a supernatural short story. I gave it four stars.
Brock Mortin was an assassin and a panther shifter. He met Scarlett Jennings when she was working as a dancer for a cruise line. She was a tiger shifter. They meet backstage when she followed him. Curiosity killed the cat. She's on the run and he's on assignment to kill. He kissed her to avoid getting caught by the security guard. He was supposed to be off the ship. He couldn't continue the spark that had ignited. But his panther wanted to rule the show. She wanted to submit.
"He laced his fingers into hers and led her back to his cabin. Neither spoke, neither trusted the other or themselves. Something about this man wasn't right. She felt it deep down. Underneath his sexy exterior, under the desire they both felt, there was something dark. A warning rang in the recess of her mind."
When they got to the cabin, the hair on the back of her neck stood and got her attention. She couldn't go in.
This has adult content with sexual situations and violence.

Really Good Short Story
I enjoyed the way it gets from her thinking there is something wrong with this guy,and following him. To him trying to find out who and why. As everything comes out, with many surprises to a HEA. Would love this in an even longer story.

I found most of this story good, but some smaller parts are a bit boring to me.

I love reading Jami Brumfield’s books. It is a short story, I finished it over my lunch hour. And I hope there is going to be more to this story. Brock Martin is A good looking assassin he is hired to kill a lovely redhead on a supernatural cruise liner, by the name of Scarlett Jennings. But what Brock does not know that the lovely and beautiful red head will turn his head the other way, Brock ends up helping Scarlett instead of killing her.

What a creep her ex fiance is.
He even sends and assassin to have her killed, but Brock is her mate.
What follows is some building up to hot scenes, but not going through with it. (this made me give the book 3 stars and not 4)
An evil ex and her sister having some tricks nobody knew she had.
This book you can read as a stand alone book.
The ending is not an open ending.

You have a very spunky Tigress Scarlett, and sexy Panther Assassin Brock. Brock has been hired to kill someone on a cruse ship. While he is casing out the ship he runs into Scarlett. He falls for her and is sure she is his fated mate. There is one big problem Scarlett turns out to be his mark!. Broke is confused as Scarlett is suppose to just be a dancer, but she has a two million dollar contract out on her!. Brock does not want to kill his Fated mate but how can he protect her!.

This is short sweet and to the point as only a short read can be. The author packs a lot into a short period of time. Scarlett and Brock meet in the dark and sparks fly. Just one touch he knows he has met his mate. The kicker is there is a hit on her head and he has been sent to take her out. Brock was very surprised when he opened the note with the picture of who he is to kill. Will he go for the money or will his heart win out.
Ms. Brumfield has always been able to put a lot in a little time never leaving anything out or losing her reader. This is fast paced from start to finish as the author takes you through a story of one man who wants it all and another who might be willing to die to have it all. I promise you will finish this at one setting with a smile on your face. It is well written with a lot going on.

This is a great short supernatural suspense romance that can standalone, yet is a series opener. Scarlet is a professional dancer and tiger shifter who carries the element of fire, though she's unable to control it She is in hiding from her rich and powerful ex-fiance aboard a cruise liner when she meets a mysterious panther shifter who tells her she has a $2 million price on her head. On top of that, he is an assassin sent to kill her. But worst of all, she suspects they are fated mates, which changes things. Or does it?

This is a great shifter short story that I really enjoyed! Scarlett is on the run and the super sexy assassin Brock is on a mission to hunt down and eliminate a mark when he comes across Scarlett and her whole world of problems. There's a bit of a twist that makes this story even more interesting and I liked how everything played out in the end. Overall, this is a highly enjoyable short story that I recommend reading to anyone.

This is a wonderful hard to put down short story. Scarlett is a tiger shifter that has escaped her cruel fiancée on board a supernatural cruise ship as a dancer. Brock is a panther shifted assassin that is on board the same cruise ship to kill his next mark, which happens to be Scarlett, whom he thinks is his mate. There are lots of twists and turns in this story, so I did not want to put it down. This book was a gift from the author, but this is my honest review.

Interesting way to meet your true mate
When the chips are down thing can get worse. Silver is in hiding from her Ex Fiancee who either wants her dead or married to him. Brock is a hired assassin who finds out his target is his true mate. Interesting plot and storyline that very entertaining to read.

For anyone who likes shifters, this is one for you. The action starts right off and doesn't stop throughout. There is definitely an HEA in this. If you are looking for down and dirty, there really isn't except in the middle.

Great Story
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review,
I have not read any of the Refuge series but I have to say this book was great,
I loved how much action but love was in this short story and look forward to reading about Zoe

Can't keep a good mate down. Action packed, evil vs good, all are in this story. Our heroine is on the run our hero is sent to kill her, oops, can't do. She's his mate.

Rushed boring.
The entire story was beyond rushed. The writing was juvenile, and awkward. But at least the grammar and spelling were decent.
Wouldn't recommend this story.

This introduction to this series was fantastic. The paranormal books happens to be my first choice in reading. I can't wait to read more books by Jamie Brumfield.
