Almost forty-one-year-old Annabelle Morris, wife to multi-billionaire record label executive Charles Morris of Zenith Productions, and mother of two is at a crossroads in her life.
Separated from her husband after walking in on him having sex in the public restroom of a charity event she was hosting, she has arrived on the island of St. John alone and rejected, determined to re-evaluate her life and her marriage. She's tired of being her husband’s showpiece while he pretends she doesn't exist. She's tired of trying to make their marriage work for the sake of their two teenage boys.
When she meets Johnny Lightning, a sexy but mysterious piano-playing, bearded sailor, she is tempted to break vows she has never before broken. But Johnny is much younger than her and seems to be hiding more than a few secrets of his own.
From the laid-back sandy beaches of the Caribbean to the elite circles of Dallas high society, Annabelle is forced to make critical choices.
Is a chance for happiness worth the risk of giving up the life she has always known?
Worth jeopardizing her own and possibly even her children's future?
In the end, will she stay on her present course or brave a new and uncharted one?

FIND ME is a romantic, sexy light hearted read about second chances in life. Ideal escapism for fans of the romance genre.

In an attempt to reclaim her life after she discovers her billionaire husband’s infidelity, almost-41 year old Anna takes herself off to an idyllic holiday destination to reclaim her identity and heal. Enter the very gorgeous and eight years younger Johnny and this is where the loveliness begins.

I loved the premise of girl is sad, girl meets boy, girl shouldn’t really like the boy, but she can’t help herself, then boom a lovely sexy and romantic story unfolds. There's a very slight forbidden feeling because of the circumstances and thought process of the heroine which always ticks my reading preferences.

I love how the protagonists meet. I was totally engaged in the scenario set up by the author, even though honestly speaking, it's clear what's happening, from the delightful misunderstanding to the progression of the story, but the predictability adds to the lovely comfortable tone of the romance. To counterbalance this aspect the age setting of the protagonists is refreshing and I really enjoyed the easy way the story made me feel. I felt assured that FIND ME would continue to provide pure romance and a hero and heroine who would endear themselves to me within the pages of their charming story.

FIND ME has great characters with lovely chemistry and I look forward to reading the final two parts of this novel and discovering how this beautiful and VERY SEXY love story develops.

Note: FIND ME is the first part in a novel that has been released in three separate parts. All parts are now available.

Very entertaining and delightful. The hero and heroine, as well as the story, are easily relatable. As a reader, you truly want Annabelle and Johnny to work out their relationship.

Anabelle is a forty-one year old beautiful married woman whose husband was caught cheating one year ago. Anabelle has retreated to the small island of St. John in order to regroup and find herself. With two teenage boys in tow, Anabelle must figure out how to move forward with her life. With the help of her best friend and her best friend’s brother, Johnny, Anabelle begins to find peace. Johnny is thirty-four years old and has his own emotional baggage. But he sees Anna’s inner and outer beauty and the caring that she lovingly gives. They surrender together in a wave of sensations and the cries of passion.

The author creates a beautiful setting, a small island town with sandy beaches, deep blue sea waters and magic in the air. I loved the mysterious aura around Johnny, his emotional generosity and kindness. I’d sure like to hear Johnny’s POV and know what his final thoughts were. And what a cliffhanger!! I’m curious to see how the story will go now that Anabelle’s husband hits back at talk about their marriage and says he’s ‘there for her’.

I read an ARC of this new book by Michelle Mankin it is an amazingly beautiful story about self discovery. Full Review to come soon!

Enter this special contest:
ADD Find Me, Remember Me, and Keep Me on Goodreads. You might be one of three lucky readers chosen randomly to receive an e-copy of each on release day 1-15-16.

Find Me is a story of self discovery. It amazes me that no matter how old we are we are still discovering things about ourselves. Annabelle is a married woman with kids and finds herself at crossroads in her life so she takes a time out to revive herself and goes to the beach to find herself. This story really resonates with me as a woman in her 40's and married. No matter what age women question their worth and confidence is shaken when we are hurt by the ones who should love us the most. Johnny Lighting is in the same boat, he has gone to the Island to run away from life and find himself again. These two find themselves in a situation where they spend lots of time together and have this electric attraction to each other. And the mystery behind who Johnny Lighting is really surprising. love this story it is really about self discovery and finding yourself and the journey to get to that destination. This book felt so real to me that I can imagine myself on the beach that is where I go to find myself again and again...

I quite enjoyed this first instalment of the Finding Me series from an author that is new to me. I have to say I am at a bit of a loss as to why this novel is broken up into three parts and feel it would have flowed nicely as a complete novel. As soon as I finished the ARC for the first instalment that left me hanging I had to quickly click the next two to see how these characters fared, I’m just thankful the release of the parts wasn’t staggered.
Annabelle Morris is a society wife married to a powerful man in the music industry that has beaten his wife’s esteem and character down with his infidelity. After her patience has finally snapped Annabelle has made attempts to move on and we meet her as she takes a much needed holiday to find herself, only for her to find Johnny Lightning.
Johnny is an almost reclusive figure that spends his time on his boat and a remote Caribbean island, he is a mysterious character that obviously has many secrets and issues but something in Annabelle draws him out. I loved how he kept pushing Annabelle’s buttons and in doing so made her look at herself differently. Though he wasn’t what she was looking for he seemed to be just what she needed and it seems Annabelle is for him. Unfortunately, Annabelle’s past catches up with her and when she is faced with possibly dragging Johnny down will she choose to return to her gilded cage life?
And this is where you are left needing the next instalment to see what path Annabelle chooses. A light enjoyable read that may have a few holes if you want to look deeply enough but on the surface a nice story of self-discovery.

What a sweet story about a 41 year old woman who is trying to find herself again after her marriage goes south. (due to a husband that can't seem to keep it in his pants)

Anna escapes to a small island after much her very persuasive friend. She's there to try to find out what to do with her life, but she finds more than just peace with herself. She soon finds that she's much more than her husbands arm candy. After spending time with her best friend's 34 year old brother Johnny, she started to feel beautiful inside and out. Watching to together, they have you hoping and praying they get that HEA you feel is coming for them.

The cliffhanger in this book has you screaming NOOOOOO!! At your kindle! The way the author leaves the story makes you want to beg for the next book!

The story was well written and a read I'd recommend to any of my friends! What an amazing read that makes you want to do your own self exploration to see if where you are in life is where really want to be.

I can't wait to see what happens to Anna and Johnny in book two!

I really enjoyed Find Me by Michelle Mankin. Find Me is part one of a three part series about 41 year old Annabelle Morris. Annabelle is recently separated from her record label executive husband after finding out he has been cheating on her. Now on her own in St. John Island, she’ll need to figure out what she wants in her life and in her marriage. Meeting Johnny Lightning wasn’t part of that plan.

Find Me is a fast heartfelt read, just make sure you have Remember Me on standby because you’ll want to start it right after you finish Find Me.

Find Me is set in the same universe as The Brutal Strength and Black Cat series. Of course, music is very important in some ways, but so is finding herself again for the female main character.
The writing is so well done, and I was swooning more often than not :)

Full Review posted at Oh My Shelves Blog.

This story felt very formulaic. I was hoping for more since the heroine was almost 41 years old and the hero was 33 year old. Unfortunately, the story, characters and even the verbiage felt cliché.

Find Me in the first book in a trilogy following a 41 year old woman Annabelle who is currently separated from her husband after 13 years of marriage. Anna’s best friend Claire offers to watch Anna’s two sons while Anna goes to Claire’s brother’s villa for some personal reflection time.

Anna meets a 31 year old Johnny and there is an attraction. It’s later revealed that Johnny is Claire’s brother, though Anna didn’t know him. There was an attraction but both Johnny and Anna were suffering from post-traumatic relationship stress. So there was a lot of uncertainty and fear to be hurt again. Despite the hesitation, Johnny and Anna embark on a physical relationship. Just as it appears that they will begin a new together, Anna’s ex-husband comes and asks for a second chance to be family and parent together. Anna has a tough decision to make between forgiving the husband who had betrayed her and vague future with Johnny who hasn’t shared what he is has been running from.

I had a number of issues with this story. How Annabelle and Claire were as close as sisters, but Anna had no idea what Claire’s brother looked like. After one night of sex with Johnny, Claire declared that it was the best night of her entire life. I felt like I was being told how to feel about the characters instead of letting me draw my own conclusions. Claire’s husband was supposed to be a monster but just because he didn’t love her doesn’t mean he didn’t love his sons. Are we to believe a millionaire like that wouldn’t pay for his sons to go to college? Why can’t Anna take time and figure out what she wants instead of making a decision now? Johnny kept alluding to be betrayed but there was only a vague mention by Claire of a broken engagement. There was just no real development of his character so it was hard to really see Johnny’s as a better option than the aloof husband.

I may read book 2 but I don’t feel compelled to jump into it now as this story just felt run of the mill.

I am loving every word of this new series by Michelle Mankin. It's almost as if yet again her writing has reached a new level of greatness. The fact that the heroine is a more mature woman has me smiling huge, showing me that this author can truly write any genre and any age group.

What I loved most about part one of the Finding Me series is the simplicity of the story-line. Annabelle sets off to St. John to get away from the stifling life she has lived being the wife of a music mogul. A man who cheats on her every chance he gets and who is still stuck on his college love. I could feel the moment Annabelle finally finds herself again and I was as enamored with her mysterious island companion as she was. Johnny provides our girl with some much needed attention and I was completely jealous.

The author provides the perfect backdrop for this burgeoning love story and her words masterfully convey the soft sand and cold beer being enjoyed by our couple. I felt like I was right there with them and didn't want to leave.

This is the story of a woman who wants more. Something we all want from time to time but might not have the drive to get it. Annabelle takes the first step. I can only hope she keeps moving forward.

It is beautifully written and filled my soul completely. I'm thoroughly captivated and hanging on every word. I look forward to more and the continuation of one woman's journey to feel whole.

5+ stars and very highly recommended.

Find Me is definitely about finding yourself

Annabelle is in a loveless marriage. She finds herself in a position where she can either continue on being the same woman to man who doesn't care about keeping "it" in his pants or move on to find herself after all these years. While on a mini trip to try to figure out what she is doing with her life she meets Johnny Lightening. He is the sexy man who at first comes off as being a jerk to her. Mainly because he stereotyped her as a rich snob. Then he soon realized that is so far from the truth. These two have a chemistry that does create lightening when they are together. Just when things start to come together between these two her husband has to come back and ruin it all.

Oh man! Bookworm Brandee told me I had to read this. I don't remember any kind of disclaimer that the world must be put on pause so I can lose myself in the world of Johnny and Anna and that amazing island. And the break between books, the ending that drove me to immediately open book 2. Good stuff Michelle Mankin. All that aqua water and sexy Johnny and almost broken Anna.

Island fun!

Every girl’s dream is for that perfect man to sweep us off our feet in a perfectly romantic way. Annabelle meets that man when she arrives at a tropical villa owned by her best friend’s brother. Contemplating her marriage to a cheating man, she makes a life altering decision but on her return to the villa she is confronted by her estranged husband. Where does this leave Johnny?

The Queen of RockStars is back!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Find Me, Remember Me, Keep Me books by Michelle Mankin. I always enjoy Michelle’s writing but I particularly enjoyed this romance which features older characters, and for once, an older than the hero, heroine (shocker!).

Michelle gave me a taster of the first book back in November and then left me hanging for more! When an ARC of all three books arrived on my kindle I was beside myself and delved back in straight away. I re-read all the chapters that I had already read so I could be transported to St John with Anna and Johnny!

Initially, the story is set on the Island of St John which Michelle describes beautifully. I absolutely adore books with an Island setting and this was no exception. This story, told mostly from Anna’s point of view, but also occasionally from Johnny, is more than just a romance story; it’s a story of self-discovery, and rejuvenation. At the start of these books, Anna’s confidence was at an all-time low, it was great to see that turn around and for Anna to find herself once more.

Annabelle, a forty one year old, mother of two teenage boys, travels to St John alone following her marriage breakdown. Her best friend Claire arranges for Anna to stay at her brother Johnny’s beachside villa. Johnny isn’t supposed to be there, and Anna believes that the caretaker is meeting her at the port. But, well, that’s not quite the situation! Of course!

We don’t get the greatest first impression of Johnny but he sure turns it around. What’s not to love about a mysterious, bearded, troubled but gentle souled fella? Johnny was a great character; he had his own issues going on but the way he gave Anna her confidence back and fought for her was heart-warming. Is that enough to give Anna the courage to end her unhappy and demeaning marriage permanently and find the happiness she deserves?

I read all three books in one sitting. It was effortless reading for me, and I enjoyed the escape. There was angst, drama, lots of swooning, and a terrible villain! The door is wide open for more from these characters and I can’t wait to read more!

I believe some of the characters in this book may be familiar to some who have read Michelle’s other work. I hadn’t come across these characters before, but that didn’t stop my enjoyment of this story. This story can be read without having read the other books, without question.

If you’re looking for a fab quick read that is a great escape but tells a sweet and heart-warming story (with the odd bit of nookie thrown in!), then look no further. Enjoy!

Oh and as a side note, I LOVED all the references to James Bond!

4 Stars!

I had the pleasure of beta reading this series and I'm so excited about Anna & Johnny's introduction to the world. I hope y'all love them as much as I do.

Anna - a wounded soul, a broken heart, when she comes to St. John in order to make some decisions about her life. She's been separated from her philandering husband for a year. It's time for her to find her way...find herself again.

Johnny - a wounded soul, a man who isolates himself as well as his heart, is back in St. John. He's working at finding his way after his life didn't follow the path he was expecting.

He found her - the real her. She found him. Have they found what they were looking for? Have they found more than they anticipated?

I was immediately drawn to Anna and Johnny. I could feel the hurt they both felt - their lack of confidence in themselves and their lack of trust in others. That they both ended up in the same place at the same time seems serendipitous. The pull between them was palpable, but I enjoyed the ease there was between them and how they got to know one another.

Some things are revealed causing a misunderstanding though, and Anna's husband appears as well. This first installment ends in confusion and indecision.

Hugging my bag to my chest, I stared out at the rolling waves and laid my forehead against one of the iron rails. It felt cool against my skin. As my thoughts drifted off on a lonely tide, I offered a prayer that while I was here I could find both the answers and the solace I sought. The sky turned light pink and then black before the rhythmic crash and gurgle of the surf eventually soothed the raging maelstrom within my heart.
***

I was so stinkin excited to get my hands on this book! I have loved each of the books from the Tempest series and to see a spin off just made my day. Mankin wrote another fabulous book that not only was fun to read but a little hawt! Ok, a lotta hawt!

I love to read about the older woman getting her time in the spotlight. Anna isn’t old but she isn’t the young twenty something girls running around on the pages of most the books I am reading. Me being *cough* nearly 38 *cough* I enjoy reading about the older ladies getting some romance. Makes the story more believable to me. Even with the rush to romance in this one, I was ok with it. Who am I am to say it can’t happen that quickly. Heck, I married my man after 3mths of dating. And here we are 16 years later. So, more power to Anna and her prowess ways.

Johnny took some getting used to. I was thrown off by his earlier attempt at being the nice guy after the horrible first impression he put on Anna when she arrived. But in the end I really liked him and hated what he was put through. I am hoping for better things to come for him.

I am looking forward to see where this story leads as we move on to part 2, REMEMBER ME. At this point there is no telling what could happen. But from the way FINDING ME ended it isn’t going to start out pretty. I can bet you that! Mankin, you have me hooked. 5 Stars!

If you love romance novels and sick of reading ones where the characters are in their early to mid 20's and filled to the brim of angst , then you need to check out Michelle Mankin's new series "Finding Me" as Part #1 introduces readers to the two main characters - Annabelle aka Anna who is in her early forties and Johnny Lightning who is mid 30's. Anna is currently going through a time-out from her life as she has finally had enough of her husband's philandering ways and needs time alone to recuperate and decide her next steps. Her husband Charles is owner of Zenith Productions and his arch-nemises is Black Cat Records - which readers will remember from Michelle's earlier works. Anna's best friend Claire's brother owns a house on a small island and offers it up to Anna to live in for a while and Claire will look after her teenage boys. Anna arrives and meets Johnny who turns out to be Claire's brother . The pair are stand-offish at first, but then Johnny starts to soften and we readers hope that Anna has finally found someone who will love her for her and not settle and use Anna as a second prize token. Readers are left wondering at the end of Find Me - Part #1 what will become of Anna and Johnny as Charles heads to the island - to "try again" for the sake of their family ? Will Anna go along with it, to keep the peace or has she finally grown some guts to stand up to him and choose Johnny ?
Find out in Part #1 "Find Me" by Michelle Mankin and stay tuned for Part #2 - Remember Me.

Part 1

This COVER!!! I'm in love <3

I'm a huge fan of Michelle Mankin, as both a writer and a person. I've read almost all of her books and each one pulls you into the story and has you loving and connecting with the characters. I loved how this book is set up In to three separate parts, coming together to create one whole story,

Part one gives you just a taste and has you needing more. We meet the main character Anna aka Fancy Face. It was refreshing to read about a more mature 41 year old character. She's a mom and that's what her life has always been centered on, I know I and a lot of others can relate to that. She's come to a crossroad in her life and has a lot of decisions to make, when a very hot wrench is thrown in her path.

You cant help but to fall in love with Anna and want her to really find happiness in herself and in her life. We definitely get some hot and steamy scenes, yay! Johnny will capture you heart and I can't wait to find out more about his past.

I cant wait to read more and see what happens next. I know there are secrets to be revealed. I highly recommend this captivating novel. One to Part 2!!!

Annabelle's life has been trying since she caught her husband, Charles, cheating on her. Although they have been separated for a year, she hasn't decided whether to make it permanent or not. Dedicating her life to her husband and her boys, her confidence has taken a beating. Heading to the island paradise of St John, she is using the trip as thinking and reflection time to make a final decision. What she doesn't count on is the presence of Johnny on the island and the attraction between them. Being older than him, she doubts his attraction to her. Johnny has secrets himself and keeps most of himself a mystery to protect himself.

Annabelle, at the start, is completely lacking in confidence and self-esteem but we see her blossom under the careful ministrations of Johnny. Equally Johnny's aloofness at the start melts away with nurturing by Annabelle.

Annabelle still has a long way to go, with Charles never far away. This was a beautiful start to one woman's journey of self-discovery.

Annabelle Morris, wife to multi-billionaire record label executive Charles Morris of Zenith Productions and mother of two finds herself at a crossroads in her life. Hosting a charity event she finds her husband having sex in a public restroom. She finds herself alone in St. John trying to sort out her lonely life and pretending all is well for her two teenage boys.

Enters Johnny Lightning into the mix, he is a sexy but mysterious piano-playing and bearded sailor who she is tempted to break her marriage vows. Johnny is much younger than her and he is hiding more than a few secrets of his own.

Annabelle finds herself force make some critical choices, to seek love but it might cost her sons and the life she knows. How far are we willing to give up for the chance of happiness? Are we willing to take that risk? Interesting crossroad that some must face.

Unfortunately, despite how much I wanted it to, this one didn't work for me. The deep poetic instalove felt forced, as did some of the dialogue. I would have liked to see more showing and less telling, but I know that's hard to do in a 100 page serial.

I also felt like I was missing the back story, so this may be a spinoff of another series (which I have not read).

Finding Me is book 1 of a trilogy. I am not a fan of short books and had the full trilogy not been immediately available I would have skipped it.

All that said, I really enjoyed part 1. Annabelle is married to a huge music exec, but he’s a cheating a$$ and a douch! She has 2 older teenage boys and with that and the help of her best friend she takes off for a getaway to the Island of St. John to make some decisions for her future. She and her husband have been estranged for about a year.

She meets Johnny while away. He’s a seemingly well off islander. She no longer a confident woman. She has a pretty low self esteem these days. In short, sparks fly between her & Johnny and she finally succumbs to a vision of a future with him. Then Charles, the estranged husband makes an appearance, intimidates Annabelle, and uses her boys to manipulate her to willingly try to rekindle their marriage….the end of book 1.

Disclaimer - I didn't pay for this book. It was provided as part of a subscription I have.
I would not have read this book if I hadn't received it for free and at first I did have my own views as to why it was free. I felt the descriptions about the island and Anna expensive clothes to be over the top in the first few chapters, and to be honest if it had continued like that I may have given up, but then something changed. The story, plot and characters got my attention and I realised there was a point in the OTT descriptions. When it came to the last page I was then shocked because the story didn't really end, but continues to book 2 & 3. By this point I was invested & want to know what happens.
I'm a first time reader of Michelle Mankin but I might give her rock star romance series a crack. Great storyteller.

This story is so sweet and heart breaking at the same time. I love how its not about people who are 20 something, but older and more settled adults. I love hearing about real life like issues without feeling like I'm being preached at or told this is how you have to be. Annabelle comes off as so put together and at the same time you get to see that she isn't perfect. Johnny comes off as a bit broken, but in the end you see they are just your average people trying to find true happiness in this impossible world. I love how Kai and Wen get all the emotions you'd expect, plus they add in an extra something to make hearing the story even more special.

Anna catches her husband in the act of cheating at a charity event and the feelings start to overflow from here. At over 40, she is gripped with the angst of needing to reclaim her life and heal from the trauma her husband mentally gave her.
While on vacation to find herself again, she meets Johnny. 8 years younger and hot enough to burn fields in passing. She shouldn't want him, but she does. And he is definitely not walking away.
I binged the entire mini series and loved every minute!!
