I read the first in this series as a free e-book, and was intrigued enough to buy the rest. The mystery /intrigue was well-plotted, paced and character development was well-done. The romance between Diggs and Erin was a side-story that I also enjoyed. (But this is NOT romance) I gave the series 4 stars because I felt the end came rather quickly, but then again I can't think of how else it would have gone. There were a few elements where I was like "whaaaat?" (Like the part with Nate and Laurie?? Should have been edited out, IMO). AND- I find e-books in general littered with annoying typos or grammatical errors. While this was not "littered", the author mis-used "wrung" and "rung" several times. All in all, a really enjoyable series & storyline. Well worth $10, anyway!

Seat of your pants till the end

Very entertaining and well written. A little
Outside believable at times but a good ending.
A few loose endings giving the possibility for a book 6 to the series...

I stumbled upon Jen Blood when I was looking for an editor. I remember I was bedridden at the time and in desperate need of something to distract me from the pain. This series really did the trick. It sucked me in right from the start. I had never read anything like it and since then I've kept thinking that I wish I could relive the thrill I got from reading this series. It's intense, and creepy, but it also has one of my all-time favorite romances. I'm really excited about her new K-9 Search and Rescue series, which is a spin-off from the Erin Solomon Mysteries.

Erin Solomon Mysteries, book's 1_5

Jen is very good at describing instances that make you want to continue reading. Keeping all the characters straight with reading 5 books is quite a challenge. She would refresh the situations by remembering the past. Very good read.

Full of mind-numbing terror!

This series is dark, twisted and ten times more terrifying than your worst nightmare but it is also strangely addictive!
It is a series and the final twist is not revealed and full plot unravelled until book five, so if you like standalone books, each with their own plot or puzzle that is solved by the end of that book, then this is not for you. But if you like fast action, high drama, lots of crime and heart racing terror, then you will love this and if you are not sure, you don't have to commit to the whole boxset - book one 'All the blue-eyed angels' is a free download so you can start the series with no risk or cost and then make your decision.
Whilst Erin and Diggs are the main characters of the series there are a number of support characters that take this journey with them and all the characters are fantastically written, they are strong in personality, full of irritating traits, psychologically scarred and.....totally amazing!

I read the first of these books unaware I was starting a series. After finishing the first book I had to buy the series. The author leaves the first book on a cliffhanger and if you want to find out whodunit you have to keep reading. But you won't be disappointed. The author knows how to build suspense and other than the heroine making ridiculous decisions that constantly put everyone's life in danger (and she's supposed to be smart) it had relatively few frustrations. These books have sharp, snappy dialogue, a non soppy romance and mysteries to solve. There are clear good guys and bad guys and some you're never quite sure whether to love or hate. If you like books that take you along for the ride these are worth the effort.

I truly enjoyed the series...actually devoured each word! I love that Jen Blood writes about Maine and an area that I have visited many times as a child and young adult. Many Québecois go to Maine since we are only a 5 to 6 hour drive to be by the ocean. It feels like home there.

It is one thing that I loved about Stephen King as well and he used many French names in his characters. Jen seems to write like she knows every inch of that little town near Portland. I could relate to the hot humid summers and cold frigid winters.

You cannot help but fall in love with the characters in this series and have mixed feelings about some of the villains too! I highly recommend this series and reading the Prequel first, Midnight Lullaby.

Solomon Series Must Read!

I have picked up individually over several years, but had 1 missing. So when I saw the set, had to get it. Started at the first book and never stopped until the ending book. It was just as good as I remembered and one book better. Jen Blood absolutely knows how to wind in and out of a story and keep you reading. Erin and Diggs are constantly in the middle of something deep and dark in their respective pasts. I very seldom read books more than once, but these books will definitely be read again sometime in the future. And very well edited, which is a must for me.

I enjoyed this series immensely and didn't want it to finish. The storyline was intriguing with twists and turns all the way through. Well written and fast paced with a wonderful blend of humour, thrills, mystery and suspense. The characters were varied, interesting and likeable (well the good guys were) even though Erin, the main character, was often very frustrating by making stupid decisions that endangered her and everyone involved. Thoroughly recommended reading.

Awesome.

Awesome. Just an awesome series. Couldn't put it down. The minimum 20 words is stupid. I've said enough. Go read it!
