The World Burns, Episodes 1-3

Rate this book
Tension grips the country as the nuclear talks with Iran start to go poorly. This is largely ignored by the populace, and the threat of war goes unheeded.

Blake has lived his life through hard work and his blog—Back Country J. He's an off-grid homesteader, blogger, and author. He has the life that preppers dream of, and he never knows it. As an on-again-off-again handyman, he learns how to fix everything in his life except loneliness, until he meets Sandra.

Sandra is an army veteran who has caught his attention, and she’s also the preacher's daughter. Sparks fly the first time they meet, and the shy hermit asks her out on a date.

Follow the couple as they try to survive raiders, hunger, and human nature when the balloon goes up after an EMP is set off.

This is episodes 1-3 of the 7 part best selling series by Boyd Craven.

I must be in a good mood or either this series was good. My only two tiny complaints are 1. That freaking ending! 2. I think the homestead was not far enough away from the remaining population.

I actually enjoyed the first three books in this series, so far. I honestly didn't think I would like it and can't tell you exactly why I did, but I did.

I read a few reviews on Amazon and thought I'd give this book a try. I'm glad I did because this story kept me engaged and was better than I had expected. I'm starting to love indie authors for their raw talent more than some of the big wig authors. There are quite a few stories out there that's geared along the same lines as this one and I liked this a little better than most.

I do wish the author had went into a little more detail on certain parts. I'm glad the series is not over yet. I'm going to grab the next book now and hope it doesn't let me down.
