Bestselling author Gia Riley has been in love with writing romance since high school when she took her very first creative writing class. From the small but mighty state of Delaware, she’s a country girl at heart, traveling back to her roots in Pennsylvania as often as she can.
She’d rather pick truth than dare, bake than cook, and will always choose coffee over tea.

Rock the Boat is the story of Lark Williams and Easton Beck. One is fresh out of a relationship and mending a broken heart while the other has been escaping his reality after a tragic loss. Both find themselves paired up during The Perfect Match cruise. It’s like online dating but at sea, and in person, and without the ability to escape.
I did enjoy this story. It was a quick and cute romance that also gave you a few great co-staring characters that were likable. The one thing that drove me a bit crazy was Lark. She seemed a little unreasonable at times – a tad bit too immature, even knowing that she had reasons to have her doubts...
I think Easton was really the star of this book though. I like a guy that is a man-whore when he’s unattached but is ALL IN once he’s taken. He pretty much could do no wrong in my eyes and I loved that he was vulnerable and broken. Those are the best kind of boys!
I didn’t adore this, as much as just enjoyed it. I’d definitely give the author a read again in the future – But I would have loved to have seen more emotional moments building these two and their relationship up rather than it relying so much on just the experiences of their pasts. I think that would have driven me to feel more connected with them in the end.

Easton is taking a break from his fame as a rock star. After he lost his love Shea, he and the band signed on to do gigs on cruise ships. He gets to keep his music, but he's out of the public's eye. Lark is just about to have her long time boyfriend move in with her when she literally catches him screwing the hell out of one of the secretaries from his work. Bye bye roommate.
Lark's girlfriend convinces her to go on the Perfect Match cruise. What's the worst that can happen-she has incredible sex with a gorgeous guy she'll never have to see when she's back on dry land?
Unbeknownst to Easton, his friends sign him up for a match on the cruise they are playing. It's their last gig before they are heading back out on tour with the band. Easton isn't opposed to having sex (he's had lots of that trying to get over Shea's loss) but he doesn't want any messy dating thing during this cruise)
Guess who Easton is paired up with? Lark hasn't really followed his music but she does know who he is, she's just not sure she can stop being Miss Responsible for once and just go with the flow. She thinks that's part of why her boyfriend cheated on her. How successful is their first "date"? Well let's just say Easton is very talented with his hands and there may have been some shenanigans with a set of drum sticks. Rock on girl!
Things get complicated (of course they do, this is a romance novel!) but maybe both of them are ready for more than a week of sun and fun. Maybe a little rocking of the boat will lead to big things on land!
Rock the Boat is a fun, sweet contemporary romance, with an interesting storyline and likeable characters. I really enjoyed the premise of this book...a kind of a modern take on The Love Boat. (Okay, I might just be showing my age with that one!)
Lark is trying to get over a break-up, Easton is still coming to terms with a devastating loss. Lark is convinced to take this cruise by her bestfriend, while Easton, the lead singer of the "house band", is unknowingly set-up by one of his close friends. Although they both came into this reluctantly, they can't deny the instant attraction and connection they feel.
All is not smooth sailing for Lark and Easton, though...there are some trials and tribulations along the way, as they both attempt to navigate their way through this new and exciting romance they find themselves in.
I admit it took me a bit to warm up to both Easton and Lark. But as the story progressed, and we got to know more about each of them, about what they had each been through, I was able to better understand some of the "whys" I had running through my head, especially when it came to Easton. The loss he suffered impacted him greatly, but with Lark he's finally allowing himself to feel something for another person, he's opening himself up and letting her in. And Lark is realizing that not all men are alike, and Easton really does set himself apart from the rest.
This book is a light, sexy, entertaining read that will leave you wanting to research to see if there really are cruises like The Perfect Match. Not that I myself have done anything like that, not yet, anyway. Easton and Lark really were the perfect match.

Reviewed @ Confessions From Romaholics Review copy kindly provided by author in exchange for a honest review I had high hopes for this book and whilst overall I wasn’t disappointed. There was some little things that should have not be said or thought. Rock the Boat is a standalone romance that capitalises the whole new trend of arrangement marriages but with a twist. A cruises for singles where everyone is paired up with their perfect match. However not everyone is too thrilled by the whole idea of the cruise. Our heroine and hero both are holding scars of their pasts especially relationships For Lark finding out the guy she thought she one day would married and has been with for a number years for hasn’t been exactly honest. Has turned her life into a tailspin and her best friend thinks this is the best way of forgetting Glen. Glen who hasn’t let up since they broke off. However with some hesitant she finally agrees to ago when Noelle saves her from him and doesn’t expect to find herself with the one guy that her best friend would die to have for herself. Easton Beck , the lead singer of Midnight Fate who disappeared off the face of the planet just as he was reaching stardom to deal with a deverstating lost of the girl he thought he would be with forever despite their challenges. He never found a girl since then who would capture his attention , and now living as a cruise band, taking advantage of the rotating passengers to meet his needs. However with their contract potentially up , his bandmate’s girlfriend wants him to try and find someone and decides to thrown him in to the mix for what could be his last cruise. Seven days, seven nights with their perfect match that neither wanted apart of . However it isn’t called Perfect Match for nothing as they get to know each other , Riley rocks their boats to speak as they discover that fate knew what it was doing when they pair them together. Thrown in some zealous secondary characters and this book lives up to its name. It is about going for the unexpected , face challenges head on and trusting. As both of them are scarred both positively and negatively by their past relationships and it shaped them to become the person that they are today. However will rock the boating mean forever. Rock the Boat didn’t disappoint story wise and the characters were perfect. Lark un-trusting and heartbroken, unsure what to do to move on and Easton still in love with his past and not willing to believe there is second chances. It is a very romantic new adult book but it isn’t perfect It read sometimes like it was part of a series that there was a book before involving some of the secondary characters and that threw me off. As far to my knowledge there wasn’t a prior book to this one. It got me half puzzle and intrigued as there seemed to be a story waiting to be told with those considered and I wonder if there was something missing because the way the author told her their story. To end on such a high note and then that epilogue, it left me frustrated. Surely their problems should be over by now. There is no need to revert to old behaviours considering that they have been addressed to that level. I get the why but surely she would of trusted him by then.
"Mine. It's been forever since I've been able to call anyone mine let alone have them own any part of me."
"I'm scared." I'm scared he's going to walk out of this room and I'll never see him again. Even worse, I'm afraid I'll never feel this alive again. Because despite the anger, tears, and frustration, he gives me more than I ever thought I needed. He taught me I don't always have to take care of myself on my own. That it's ok to depend on a man for even my most basic needs--love and happiness."
What an amazing, amazing story from Gia Riley!! As a fan of Gia Riley's books, I couldn't have been more excited to get my hands on Rock The Boat. Rock The Boat was so refreshing and so unlike anything I've read from Gia before.
Told from dual points of view, Rock The Boat follows the story of Easton and Lark. Lark thought she had found the perfect man. She was in love and the two of them were moving in together. So, imagine her surprise to find her boyfriend having sex with someone else. After this happens, Lark has decided to swear off men. All is fine and dandy until her best friend talks her into going on a match cruise. This cruise is supposed to match you with your true love. Lark doesn't believe this, but can't deny that she needs a vacation. What she didn't plan on was Easton. Easton is her exact opposite in every way, but the connection between the two of them is undeniable and makes Lark want to take a chance....Easton doesn't do love. He's loved before and ended up with a broken heart. But, just being with Lark makes him feel alive. It makes him want things he hasn't wanted before. Will Lark and Easton take a chance and go for more? Will they finally get the HEA they both deserve?
Rock The Boat was such a fun and refreshing read. It is such a departure from the books that I've normally read by this author and I loved every second of it. From the moment I picked up Rock The Boat, I was sucked in. My heart went out to Lark and everything that she went through. I found her so easy to relate to and hated the way her ex treated her. And Easton. I was intrigued by him from the very first meeting. He had ghosts and a past that haunted him, and I was dying to know what it was.
I loved the connection between Easton and Lark. It's was instant, scorching and undeniable. I loved watching the two of them navigate their way through things and watching them overcome their pasts.
Rock The Boat is a wonderful story about hope, second chances and moving on from the past. This book is smart, sexy, well written and utterly captivating. The characters are fun and entertaining; totally easy to connect with and relate to. And I gotta tell you, there is this one scene that I know I will never forget. I have one word for you: Drumsticks---Yep, I will never look at those the same way again. This book really knocked my socks off and I gotta say, this is my favorite book by this author to date. Read it for yourself and you'll see why.

4-4.5 stars. I really liked this storyline idea. Lark Williams is going on a singles cruise with the promise of The Perfect Match with her best friend Noelle. They fill out a questionnaire that generates a match for the both of them to meet up with on this particular cruise. Lark's heart has been broken by her most recent relationship so she's not too optimistic that she will find anything beyond a potential hookup on this trip. Easton Beck, a musician for Midnight Fate, has been living on the cruise ship for the last 6 months as a performer, hiding from his real life because his pain is too much to handle. Prodded into The Perfect Match as well, Easton meets up with Lark. Although Easton isn't Lark's usual type, she can't deny the attraction and Easton is more than willing to give her whatever she wants except his heart. They have 1 week to get to know each other and have fun while doing so. I really liked both of the main characters. Lark has a deep sense of compassion and kindness about her. Easton has a good heart and is loyal to the core.
There's a palpable chemistry between the two of them and they definitely appear to be opposites in certain ways, but at the same time, Easton always seemed to know what Lark needed and vice versa. It's the trust that they struggle surrendering over to the other based on past hurts. But even if they do have the compatibility required and the getaway bubble of a cruise ship, how does this translate into real life when the vacation is over? I had an appreciation for their struggles over the 7 day period they spent together and how hesitant they were to open up to the other based on the brevity of their acquaintance. Does love have a time period and can a computer algorithm really dictate who belongs together? For Lark, someone who is used to structures and plans, she would have to allow more spontaneity. For Easton, someone who has been wandering around without a defined plan, he would have to come up with a blueprint if he really wants a future. Fans of blind date type of matches and fate bringing people together will enjoy this story.

This book is difficult for me to rate. I had a hard time getting into the story or caring about the characters. The h is very much "woe is me, my life sucks so bad" and the H is a combination of borderline depressed and "I'm in love with an angel." Now, don't get me wrong. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would enjoy this book. It certainly has some things going for it. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people.
What I liked: 1) The dual povs. While Easton's pov doesn't really make me like him all that much, especially in the beginning of the story, it was a break from Lark's, the h's, inner monologue. 2) The H turned out to be
What I didn't like: 1) Some of the dialogue were more like extended monologues. A lot of it was also overly emotional and sappy. 2) While the premise of this story wasn't my cup of tea, I could believe it. However, the weight that the h puts on their computer generated matches is ridiculous. And her insistence that she isn't looking for a real love connection was dumb and untrue. 3) The h. She was a nice person, but she was just too insecure. I understand why she was, but she really wasn't in the right frame of mind to go on this cruise to begin with. Her inability to trust a man was annoying and just made for too much non-productive angst. I mean, honestly, 4) I'm sorry, but the name Lark kept making think that she was a joke. There's nothing wrong with the name, it's just the combination of that and her character. I'm sure there are cool chicks named Lark out there. :) 5) The H needed some professional help, not just love therapy.
“You’ve managed to heal me and tear me apart in the same week. That’s got to be some kind of record."
Will it take just one week to fall inlove with your perfect match?
Lark was still recovering from her failed relationship and with a big big push from her bestfriend Noelle, she agreed to come with her on a one week cruise. The catch? It’s a dating cruise called The Perfect Match. She said she has sworn off men, she won’t fall and get her heart beaten again. But one look at her perfect match throws all of it out into the sea. Will she throw all her inhibitions for him? After all, he is her perfect match even if they are the perfect opposites.
Easton is hiding away from the world, playing with his band on The Perfect Match cruise. He still can’t get over losing the love of his life but his friends wants him to move on. With a little help from his friend Gina, he was given his perfect match. When he sees Lark, he was captivated, after knowing her, he was addicted. Is she the one who will restart back his heart?
This is a different kind of story from Gia’s books. It’s light, fun but with a side of emotions that will tug at your heartstrings. I love how refreshing the story is and even all the characters. Gia sure did went out of her comfort zone with this one and nailed it. Loved reading this book and it keeps me guessing on what happens after that one week. Making me wish this cruise ship is real. I’d totally sign up for one and find my own Easton.
You know those books, you are super happy to read but when you’re in to it your like hmmm.
This book is kind of that for me. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it I am in the in-between, maybe I was expecting too much? I think the plot of this book was pretty cool.
You go on a boat cruise and meet your perfect match. Kinda cool I think. I love that Lark’s girlfriend gets her to go, to get her out of her funk after a terrible break up. Because let’s face it we all need that friend right.
Easton’s heart is smashed, after losing the love of his life he doesn’t know how to come back from that. He also has a pretty amazing friend who is encouraging him to come back to the land of the living not saying he has to forget her just that he needs to start to move on.
I don’t know whether it’s me or what but I just don’t see the meaning to “forgetting” with alcohol. Yes its fiction but I just don’t see the appeal.
In the end it was and ok book. I was surprised the audio has a male narrator. Don’t get me wrong his voice is smooth as butter. But I thought the book would have been more suited for a female narrator.
-This Audiobook was given for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.- *You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion and I am allowed to have it.*
soooo.. I just finished my very first Gia Riley book (I know, I know I am ashamed to even say that I have not read her books before) and I can tell you it will NOT be my last.
I received and ARC for an honest opinion and I'm going to give it to you :-)
I loved this book! The plot was original and the twists and turns that were totally unexpected made it very hard to put down! I loved the concept of a quiz like matching for potential partners on a cruise, it was a fresh take on meeting your potential match and it paved the way for the perfect pace of the book.
The story of Lark and Easton was full of love that was lost and found again, lust, romance, heartbreak, issues with trust and learning to let go of the past and look forward to the future. I felt that this could have been a story about friends of mine (and by the end I wanted to be friends with these characters).
I’m a sucker for HEA’s and this had one and I was totally swooning over it!
Thank you Gia for giving me a fresh plot and lovable characters!
"You’re my favorite addiction, baby, but believe me when I say, I will fuck you so hard on the ship, the boat will be rockin’.”
Another book by Gia Riley and she doesn't disappoint! I mean, look at that cover!! This story follows Lark and Easton while on a cruise, playing a match game. Lark is still trying to get over what happened to her just weeks ago and is using this as a distraction. Easton suffered the biggest loss of his life. He and his band disappeared from the limelight and they are now the house band on the ship. The connection between these two is explosive and in a short time, these two know they can't let go of each other. But what happens when someone is out to ruin their relationship? Will these two be able to survive the entire week and possibly time together when they get off the ship, or will someone from the past put a stop to all of their plans.
I highly recommend this book! I love that it is told in dual POV! The sex scenes are hot and Let me tell you, I'll never look at drum sticks the same way again!
Lark Williams did not want to go on the Perfect Match cruise, but she knows it would disappoint her best friend. Still trying to move past her ex's betrayal, Lark really doesn't want to get involved with another man.
Easton Beck has his own reasons for not wanting to get in a relationship, he doesn't think that will be something he wants again. When his friends sets him up for a Perfect Match on the cruise he is performing at, he reluctantly agrees. Things look up when he meets Lark. No rules, no expectations but will one week be enough.
This was fantastic. Loved Easton, he has a wicked side to him and you are instantly a fan. I liked Lark, she was different because she was completely out of her element. Delicious read.
”I’m human,--I don’t want to spend the rest of my life alone.
This is Lark and Easton’s story told in alternating POV.
Lark is talked into going on a cruise with her friend and completes the required survey to match her up with the Perfect Man. Easton is a musician whose band has dropped from the limelight due to a personal loss and has been the entertainment for the cruise line, his friend has convinced him to complete the match survey since it was his last contracted cruise. She so badly wants him to move forward with life and find love again.
Easton has suffered a huge loss and is still trying to recover when he meets Lark. He is immediately drawn to her. And I have to say the scene on the speaker was HOT. Lark and Easton decide to test the waters and spend time with each other in and out of bed until Lark see’s Easton with another woman. However, it’s not what she thinks. Will Easton be able to convince her he is falling for her? How will she react to his truth about his past?
Part of me fought the idea of being in love again, especially since my heart was still healing. But if I’ve learned anything from this experience, it’s that love will find you when you least expect it.
Rock the Boat by Gia Riley was a great romance of two people trying to move forward from two different types of loss. It hit them when they least expected it. Gia really pulls you in with her writing, I couldn’t put the book down. There was no cliffhanger and we do get to see a HEA. I can only hope that we might get a glance into their future someday or even maybe one of the bandmates, Dom?? If you like hot rock stars and a great romance 1-click Rock the Boat and get started. Thank you for the great read.

Well Gia Riley has done it once again. Her ability to venture into any genre of romance and write a page turner blows my mind. Rock the Boat was so different from her other books, here she really upped the sexiness. However, it still had the same charm and touches of humor that I've come to know and love from her work.
I really liked Lark. She is equal parts shy and sexy, sarcastic and soulful. She was a beautiful mess- and rightfully so after what her jerk of an ex did to her. Thank goodness for her best friend Noelle to help pull her out of her Ben & Jerry's funk and get her out in the world again. Noelle's plan can go one of two ways...spectacularly awful or beyond amazing. Lark is skeptical to say the least but goes for it anyway. Enter Easton. He is trying to out sail his heartbreak and it isn't really working. He's busy drowning himself in sorrow and songs while he tires to get his heart around the loss that shattered his world. With a little scheming from one of his best friends Easton sets off to meet his match. The first meeting between these two was ripe with sexual tension and sparks flew for sure but there was also something that neither could explain.
After spending some time together, they both know that there is something there and decide to just go with it. I loved seeing them both open up and Lark setting her limits with what she will and won't stand for. But the biggest change was in Easton. It showed in his actions and his music. At his core, he is such a good guy but it has been shadowed by his grief. I loved that they could just be with each other. Neither was expecting to fall so fast or hard but that is just the way love works. It blindsided them and put everything they thought they wanted into question. But time is against them and decisions have to be made. Easton thinks he has it mostly sorted however Lark has a different ideas. While her actions were selfless and she had everyone's best interest at heart it still hurt. UGH- I just wanted to shake some sense into her!
But Easton was sticking to his guns. It took some finagling but he was relentless and I loved seeing this determined side of him. He went for it, put all his cards on the table and held his breath, just like I did to see what Lark would do. What a whirlwind Gia Riley took me for. She went for it big time with this book and it paid off; this was so much more than a typical rocker romance. I cringed, laughed, fanned myself, shook my head and fist pumped in victory! Rock the Boat was a true page turner that left me wanting so much more of not just Easton and Lark but of the whole crew. Fingers crossed that I get to see them again somewhere down the line!
When I started reading Rock the Boat, I expected a good story. Gia has always delivered on that aspect. But I wasn’t expecting what I read. Sure if you asked me what I was expecting, I would probably tell you I am not sure, but it wasn’t this. Rock the Boat is really good. Like all around great, not that this should have surprised me. Perhaps it was just the book I didn't know I was looking for. It is a contemporary romance that features two people who have been broken by life and circumstance. The setting is fun and fresh. They are both on a single’s cruise. That is different, something I have not read about in a book, and I liked the setting! Easton is a musician that longs for escape and a way to heal. He, along with his band, are living a life of serenading couples day in and day out. Lark is only on this trip to appease her best friend and begin to let her past go. Neither expects for anything significant to happen on this trip. When they are matched together, it is lust at first sight. They both decide to take advantage of the situation and just enjoy their time. But as with most romantic stories, something happens along the way.
This book has everything you want and expect from the genre. There is a well-rounded main couple. There are the fun and supportive secondary characters. There is passion and connection. Throughout the story, there is a constant push and pull within Lark and Easton. The undeniable attraction they share bleeds from each word you read. Their hesitancy makes sense and allows for vulnerability and a chance to heal. Drama and angst go hand in hand with this story but it is never done in such a way that makes you roll your eyes. Instead, I found myself hoping they could make it work and at times exasperated that they would not see how good this could be.
Something I appreciated is that this book continues. I expected it to be solely on the cruise and a love at first sight story. It was so much more. The story continues as each character returns to their “real” life and you see a realistic unfolding of what a moment in time can do to you. This book is a fabulous embodiment of Gia’s emotional and fun writing style. There is humor and laughter, but there is also the deepest hurt and resilience of the heart. I loved this book! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a contemporary romance with a hint of something fresh and fun.
Rock the Boat is a new standalone novel by Author Gia Riley. It is fast, sweet, and saucy romance featuring a hot rocker and a scorned lover.
"I gave my heart away - and it got torn into a billion pieces. The last thing I want to do is fall for some guy who has the potential to do it all over again."
Lark found the love of her life. He was the perfect man who loved her in all the right ways...until he didn't. Now, she has the chance of a lifetime to meet her perfect match and live happily-ever-after with him. But, it's in such an unusual and, at times, comical way, that we know there are bound to be some hitches and snafus to accompany this dream. Easton Beck is the rocker who had it all, until it was ripped out from under him, and his life took a twisted turn. He is not looking for love or a relationship, so finding a match with Lark is not in the near-future plans.
"...I want to crawl inside your soul and be consumed by you."
Told in dual points of view, Rock the Boat was a story of finales, crescendos, and finding a new rhythm and beat. I was taken by this story from the opening pages, as the premise seemed so unique and promising. However, I became hopelessly lost to the story when first hearing from Easton. His point of view made me have an insta-fall, and I knew he would be a high-octane heart and panty melting machine. Equally as charming was Lark. She was guarded but adventurous, the perfect fit for Easton. Together, Lark and Easton had that magical "it" that I look for in a hero and heroine. At one point the devilishly sexy Easton said, "Your body is my favorite rhythm, Lark." True to this statement, he knew how to play her in all the right ways, and Author Gia Riley knew how to expose their chemistry in a mouth-gaping, I-need-a-large-glass-of-water fashion. Add to this connection their amazing group of friends who would stop at nothing to see their besties happy, and a great escape was delivered. Author Gia Riley wrote a novel filled with life and second chances at love that made me giddy with delight, leaving a savoring passion for rockers and their sweethearts.
"...love will find you when you least expect it. It will knock you on your ass and show you no mercy. Most importantly, it will rock you to your core. Without a shadow of a doubt, I've been rocked."
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Easton Beck is the lead singer of his band. A band that was on their way to the top until Easton's world was shattered. Now on cruise ships hiding from the world his entire band followed him. He's destroyed and angry. He's given up on love. He doesn't need it or want it. His band and his music is all he needs.
Lark Williams is six weeks into getting her heart torn out and stomped on. She however has agreed to go on a cruise called The Perfect Match with her best friend Noelle. Lark is so not looking for her perfect match. She has lost all faith in love and is really just going to make Noelle happy.
Can two shattered hearts find their way to their Perfect Match?
Rock The Boat is a second chance romance. Two character that have both endured heartbreak so totally opposite of each other but have given up on finding love. It's the perfect storm. I loved this story. Easton is a rock star who is hiding from the world and trying to get his life back together. He's fierce and funny and just down right swoon worthy. I love how he is in this book thought I don't want to describe him in to much detail and give something away. He is a character you just have to experience. I loved Lark just as much. She's hurt and angry and so untrusting. At the same time she is sarcastic and funny but with a shy side and drop dead gorgeous. Her best friend Noelle is hilarious and grounds her. There are some great secondary character in this book too. It's a story that you jump into fully invested from the get go and ride the waves as if your standing next to the characters experiencing what their experiencing.
Jump on board and enjoy this book. I think it was perfect and just exactly everything you look for in a second chance romance. Gia Riley has done a excellent job in writing a book I am sure I'll read many more times.
I have to say the only reason I first picked up a book by this author is because we share the same first name. After that I have gotten every book she writes because they are all awesome. Rock the Boat is a great read.
Easton is great. He's a rock star but he doesn't have the typical cocky rock star attitude. Easton is hurting from his past love. He and his band has been out of the spotlight for a while and playing on a cruise ship. The cruise ship they are on is The Perfect Match and it a cruise that matching singles with their perfect match.
Lark is also mending her broken heart. She has recently broken up with her boyfriend. Her and her friend, Noelle go on The Perfect Match cruise. Noelle is going to find love but Lark is going just to support her friend. Lark is not expecting to find love.
Either Lark or Easton are looking for love. As the week goes on you see how their walls start to come down and you can't help but root for them to have a lasting relationship.
If your looking for a book that will give you a sexy ass cruise filled with drunken nights, holy hotness, and emotions from cheating to saying goodbye to your past this is the book for you.
Lark and Easton had me smiling from the first few chapters. I really felt like I was on this cruise with them. They both have ugly pasts and they are just trying to move forward in the future, whether that is together or separately you will have to read to find out.
The friendships and secondary characters in this book made it just as addicting. I hope they all get a book of there own.
A great read from cover to cover. The romance was rocking the boat for sure. Easton is drowning his sorrows by disappearing onto a cruise liner not once looking for anyone that would literally rock his boat. Lark is just getting over a long term relationship and doesn't trust anyone. Can they overcome their pasts to make a future with each other? It's light hearted, emotional and funny. Sometimes I wanted to slap them and tell them to grow a pair but that keeps you enthralled in the book. Easy flowing storyline, great characters and it kept me interested for that hea. I was given this book as an ARC and this was my honest review.
This was a cute romance that had some FUN characters and a different story line (Cruise ship and The Perfect Match) that kept my interest throughout. Easton stole the show in this book - his character was tormented, yet he had that sweet side.
"Love will find you when you least expectit. It will knock on your ass and show no mercy. Most importantly, it will rock you to your core."
There are many things I learned from this book: 1. Always expect the unexpected, life is full with a bunch of surprises. 2. That true love isn't easy, it's complicated, because nothing that worths is going to be easy, you have to earn it, and then it will be yours for life...and 3. we don't have to take life for granted, we have to live every single day as i'll be our last.
After a tough break up, Lark decides to go to a cruise with her best friend with the idea of found their "Perfect Match", despite the fact that she didn't believe in that, she gets very surprised once they're on the ship. She has to spend one week with a guy she doesn't know at all, that isn't her type either, Easton Beck, the leader singer of a rock band, both have a past that they didn't want to let go, and maybe that's why they didn't belive that they can truly find their perfect match in one week thanks to a stupid program, but somehow they feel a strange connection between the both of them, one conection that they cant deny...but you know, there's no rules in love. One musician with a broken heart.
One gorgeous woman who stopped believing in love.
One week in paradise.
There's only one rule on the ship - there are no rules.
My opinion Gia really surprised me with this book. when i read the synopsis i told myself, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! and oh boy, I found another favorite. I loved it from the dedication to the last page of the book.
I like what Gia did with this book, was to be a story with a lot of romance and scenes that made me blush, it's a story about true love. I don't know how to explain myself because I loved everything of this book, I had so many feels with each chapter and god it was so good. so perfect.
I can't wait for you guys to read it because it's pretty awesome! you'll fall in love with Easton the way I did, because he is so dedicated to Lark, he is so protective with her and once you knew his past and all the things he's been through...you will be so in love with him. as I am.
I want to thank Gia for giving me the opportunity to read the book as an exchange for an honest review, it was my second time doing this for you and I want you to know that i loved this book!
for me it's a 5 stars!!! you'll love it as much I do. I just finished the book a couple minutes ago and I'm still smiling like a fool.
I have had this book’s release date in my diary for what seems like forever. Something about it called to me [ok so it’s about a rockstar!] and I couldn’t wait to read it.
Based primarily on a cruise ship, a match-making cruise ship no less, this story introduces us to Easton Beck and Lark Williams, both of whom have loved and lost [well, Lark forcibly removed her ex from her life].
Easton and his band are working on the cruise ship whilst he comes to terms with the loss of the love of his life, Shay. After they are “matched” together, both Lark and Easton must decide whether to humour their friends and agree to the match. Deciding that it is easier to just have drinks together, than to face the wrath of their friends, Lark and Easton meet and that’s when they realise that they both have something in common. A spark immediately ignites but with neither knowing what to do with, we spend some time witnessing them dancing around each other before they finally come to realise that fate may have played a hand in their meeting.
The start of this story was really enjoyable. The premise was refreshing but the story wasn’t able to maintain it’s momentum, sadly. I found my attention waning as the initial magic between Lark and Easton was lost within the storyline. The ending was as expected but the epilogue just didn’t work for me unfortunately.
I did enjoy Easton’s character but his role could have benefitted from more depth. His bandmates could also have been written more into the story to give readers more of a flavour of how they influence Easton and his daily life, espeically post Shay.
Lark started out a sweet character but then became a little lost in her role within the story. For me her sidekick Noelle was much more enjoyable to read about, as well as Gina.
Overall, an uncomplicated and reasonably enjoyable read.
I can’t put in to words how much I enjoyed this book. Gia Riley has completely blew me away!
This is the story of Easton Beck and Lark Williams who meet on a cruise ship after they both get pushed to taking part in a singles cruise called Perfect Match. Lark is there with her best friend Noelle, who after finding her long term boyfriend with another woman. Noelle being the best friend that she is, books two tickets on a singles cruise so she and Lark can meet their ‘dream men’ and also so Lark can get over douchebag Grant after totally crushing her heart.
“How am I supposed to find tomorrow when my today has just been destroyed.”
Easton Beck…lead singer of Midnight Fate. After losing himself in a bottle of whisky after losing his girlfriend, goes off the grid and packs his himself and his band off to perform on a cruise liner. He too is totally heartbroken and doesn’t think there’s anyone will take the place of his heart…Shay.
How wrong are they, when Easton and Lark get matched up they are both reluctant to go ahead but they get pushed to meeting up and when they do…BAM it’s all over. Both are trying to protect their hearts but they have this amazing chemistry and sparks fly! When obstacles get in the way of true love can Easton and Lark find a way to make it work after the seven days or will they forever have ‘one week in paradise’ to look back on for the rest of ther lives???
I absolutely loved this book. I adore the quotes in this book, they will make you swoon and completely fall in love with Easton.
“Because I want to crawl inside your soul and be consumed by you. I want you Lark.” Easton might be a rockstar and look like a bad boy but this man is sweet, sexy and totally gorgeous, he might be totally heartbroken but he sees through Lark straight away, he knows there’s something hiding behind those eyes and he sets out to change that.
I loved Lark, she was a strong career minded woman with such a big heart. I loved how, even though she had been betrayed she never acts the victim.
This book is angsty, sweet, heartbreaking in places and you’ll be rooting for Easton and Lark until the very end. I know I was. This is an amazing book and on fire too and what he can do with a set of drumsticks…..
This is definitely a 5 stars for me and I really hope we get a book for Noelle too. Well done Gia Riley, this was AWESOME!! Prepare to get ROCKED!!!!!!
Another book, another passion, another way to confirm that love conquers all and that nothing in life is guaranteed. While reading Rock the boat by Gia Riley I had this confirmation and I was so in love with the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book, and i know that you will love it too, because if you are a terrible romantic like i am, this is what you are looking for. "Rock the Boat" give us the story from Lark and Easton point of view and you can feel what they are feeling in that moment, it takes you inside their minds, feelings, frustrations. I was so into the story that i could smell the sea, i was angry for Lark and sad for Easton. It was really easy to love this book, from the first page, because Gia Riley have a very good way with words, i didn't lost my interest, on the contrary, it kept me reading and reading till the end, and don't get me talking about the hot factor.... Oh boy, it was hot as hell. I can honestly say that i've read some pretty amazing book and i can totally say, without a doubt, that "Rock the Boat" is one of my favorites. This is the story of Lark who loves her work and found her eternal love. Her happily ever after, the man she wants to grow old but when she sees him with other woman her world is turned upside down. From that day on Lark just want to live in peace, only focused in her work and don't want to fall in love again. Noelle, her best friend has another idea for Lark and part the two of them on a cruise, in which she believes they will find true love. Life for Easton has been very hard and he hits rock bottom when the love of his life succumbs to the illness and dies. Easton want to isolate himself from everything and everyone and board to work on a cruise with his band Midnight Fate, so they can do what they like and try to forget the pain that haunts him. Easton think that in life we only have the right to find one soul mate, similar to Lark. They met in this cruise and things will happen, but will it be good or bad things? My only advice to you is read it, you will love it as much as i did
My world was rocked, I mean my WORLD WAS EFFING ROCKED!!! I have been a fan of Gia Riley from book and I saw her grow as a writer, her stories getting stronger and this book is epicness to the hundreth power. Girlfriend, has delivered a book so hot I had to take a cold shower!!!
Lark goes on this cruise to meet her perfect match after catching the douche she was with with someone else. She literally gets dragged on this cruise by her friend Noelle; who I absolutely fell in love with and hope to see more of her, *hint, hint*.
So our girls are off on this cruise and the ideal matches name is sitting in the room when they walk in. What they don't anticipate is who their matches are and of course how the week on a boat will turn out. The adventures these girls go on and the things they learn about each other are funny, sad, intense and real life situations that best friends deal with.
Easton, the name alone demands attention. This man has a story to tell and as you get to know him you will absolutely embrace him and fall in love with him. He has been on a ship because he can't deal with his past. What he is currently facing is what his future will be and if he is willing to keep his band playing on this cruise ship of if they are ready to get back to what they once had. His friend signs him up for the Perfect Match and he has no expectations, what he gets is so much more than what he was bargaining for.
This book is one that you must read, what is hidden in the pages of the covers is something that will have you talking for quite some time. There are some very hot scenes and one scene in particular will leave a mark!
Lark and Easton are THE perfect match and a couple you will be sure to talk about for years to come.
Gia, you nailed this book lady and thank you so much for rocking my world!!!
Rock the Boat is seriously engaging and awesome read. I devoured this story – it made me want to go on a fun adventure with my best friend and see what fate has in store for me.
Lark Williams has been convinced by her friend that she needs to throw caution to the wind and enjoy a week of debaucherous behavior aboard a matchmaking cruise. Part of her agrees, so she boards the boat not actually looking for love but thinking maybe she can experience a tawdry affair. Definitely nothing permanent though.
Her match Easton Beck is not looking for a long term or serious relationship either. He has been working on The Perfect Match cruise for months now and is satisfied with his one night stands. He’s already experienced the real deal and doesn’t believe that there is another chance for true love out there for him.
The Perfect Match survey results show that they are destined for greatness, but Easton and Lark are both reluctant to agree with the findings. They obviously both have quite a bit of baggage they need to let go of but neither is truly ready to do that.
However, Easton and Lark get hit with a case of instant lust and regardless of their hesitation a bond forms and relationship develops between them. It’s spectacular. Not only are they incredibly loving with one another but there is so much sexual chemistry that I’m surprised they don’t incite an orgy throughout the all the boat passengers. Holy freaking hotness!!
I definitely recommend you meet this couple and read their book Rock the Boat. Their romantic journey was exciting to experience and highly entertaining. It’s a sweet and funny story that will make your heart swoon – get your copy today!
