The Proposal

Rate this book
A standalone billionaire romance.
Carrie Harper's life with commodities trader Josh Hobbs had been all gold and diamonds.

All that glitters isn't gold though.

Her friend sets her up with a tall, handsome, aloof stranger, but can she forget Josh? Blind dates never work out do they?

She enjoyed the date. Enough said.

J. Griffin was a new author for me & I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Proposal is a very short story about a girl, Carrie with a. long-term, wealthy boyfriend Josh, who showers her with expensive gifts & likes her to be in the public eye with him. She's more a possession than a person & when he proposes to her she asks for time to decide! She & her girlfriend seem to spend most nights out drinking at bars anď one night her friend decides to pick up a guy for Carrie to have a good time & help her make a decision about Josh's proposal . Carrie & Glen hit it off & she goes back to his hotel, spending the night. Next morning, he's gone...

The story is ok, there's little to no character development & the conversations are limited. The concept was sound but it read more like an outline of a story that needed to be fleshed out, rather than a story ready to be published. There are a couple more books listed under the author's name, so hopefully J. Griffin will develop his writing style with the help of a good editor. I'd read another book if it was a bit longer. Who knows, the next book might epic!

The Proposal by J. Griffin is a quick read. On paper, Carrie Harper has everything she needs. A rich boyfriend who showers her with diamonds and gold, check. A night at a fantastic restaurant, check. Being proposed to, check. But in between these fantastic dates with commodities trader Josh Hobbs, there would be nothing. Not even a phone call. All was going well for Carrie, or so she thought until he actually proposed. When her best friend told her to take some time to really consider the proposal, she never expected to meet a man like Glen. One who was actually interested in her and not just in her being arm candy. But who will she choose in the end?

This book tells a good story. There were times it felt a little rushed. I would have loved to see it develop further. It was an entertaining read though, and it kept me burning through the pages to find out what would happen next!

What an amazing debut book, I have to say that it was over way to fast and just when it was getting amazing it ended, I am left hoping that this is the start of a great series.

Carrie is stuck in a relationship with Josh, he has millions and gives her everything she wants, so why when he proposes does she not say yes right away? One night out with her friend Carrie meets a man who sweeps her off her feet and gives he the stars and the moon and everything in between, and this was all in one night, but when Carrie finds out who he is, he runs getting scared.

Glen, another millionaire was out for a night on the town, to feel normal for a night, and did not count on meeting Carrie, and he most certainly does not count on falling for her.

Will Carrie finally have found it all in millionaire Glen or will their relationship be ruined?

Cant wait for more for J Griffen.

WOW! Just WOW!! Carrie is dating Josh..he's rich and is very much into public perception of him/Carrie. He proposes to her, but she's unsure and ask for time to think it over.

Meanwhile, Corrine and Carrie are out and she meets a mysterious man, who is very interested in her. He too, is rich, like billionaire rich!! However, he's the polar opposite of Josh.

Carrie begins to date Glen and enjoying his company and still hasn't answered Josh's proposal.

Will she accept Josh's proposal or will she develop a relationship with Glen?

This was a very quick read and it was very good. However, I wish so much it was longer because I felt like the story just got started good and it was over.

Carrie has been dating Josh, very rich guy concerned with appearances, when he proposes. On a night when she's out with a friend she meets a new man, sweeping her off her feet. He has secrets but so does she. A very short romance, read under an hour, but it left me with lots of questions. I thought this was a standalone but it could be picked up for another short story or extended to a full size novel. Lots of questions left unanswered and it felt hurried, another two or three chapters could have covered all of that. As part of his new review team I was given an early copy to review.

Great story. At times felt a lil rushed. At the beginning of the book the Carrie just seemed like a pushover but showed that she could stand up for herself. I couldn't really get a good feel for Glen in the book. Loved the story felt it could have been a lil more in depth to get a better understanding of their love story.

Very quick read, seems to be a little rushed in some parts. Very sweet love story. Carrie seemed to be a bit weak, but grew more towards the end. Josh was a jerk and just wanted arm candy, he got what he deserved. I think Glen needed more development as a character.

Overall, it was a nice change of pace from the longer books I’ve been reading.

I liked the story, it was sweet. I did feel it was a little fast but overall was a good story. Carrie was not a confident person at first but she was able to gain her confidence and stand up for herself. I think we needed to know more about Glen. Josh did not deserve Carrie, she was nothing but a piece of property. Overall i liked the story.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a quick read. It was a good book. Just felt like the story could of been a little more to it, especially at the end. I would have liked to see more to the whole Carrie/Glen/Josh part. But the overall story was good. The flow was there, just felt rushed at the end.

Carrie wants to be loved. Can Josh give her everything? Or will his superficial desire to show Carrie off, be his downfall? Enters hot billionaire Glen. Is his goal like Josh's? Will he toy with Carrie's emotions or win her heart forever? The Proposal is a great quick read.
