JB Heller is an average Aussie housewife and Mumma in her early 30's. She lives on a mini farm with her family and a few cows, sheep, a parrot, cats, fish, dogs, and a butt load of chickens. It's JB's dream to one day add a llama to the mix and an alpaca or two.
She writes across several genre's including RomCom, Romantic Suspense and Contemporary. You can always expect a healthy dose of heat, intrigue and wit in her stories.
Monday to Friday you can find JB glued to her laptop weaving words or trolling Pinterest for her next potential muse. Come the weekend, it's family time. (And of course lots of reading and Netflix binges.)
This is a good low angst instant love romance. I really liked there was no real push/pull between the hero and the heroine and all the drama came from outside the relationship. It was just an easy read. But you must be a fan of instant love because the hero and heroine's relationship develops EXTREMELY fast.
Note: It is on sale at the moment for 99 cents.

I felt like I’d been uprooted and teleported to an alternate universe. This whole situation was so far from anything I’d ever known or even heard of. I mean really, who took in homeless pregnant women, fed them delicious hot chips, babysat children that weren’t even their own and joked about nailing their friend’s wife?
I was all over him like a fat kid on a triple choc cupcake. He started reading in his office or the car to try hide from me.
I’ve been shopping with Ivy a million times before. This is easy compared to going with her. I just grabbed whatever I wanted. I didn’t have to stand around discussing the difference between a bath towel and a bath sheet for half a fucking hour before picking one.
The thing with tragedy is it rarely happens when you’re ready for it, or when you’re expecting it. No, it sneaks up like a thief in the night, takes what you hold dear, and rips it from you with no regret and no remorse. It leaves only grief, fear, and guilt in its wake.
My Review:
J.B. Heller is an instant one-click purchase for me. No thought required – unless of course, she changed genres to YA zombie hunting vampires… that I would need to think about. But I adore her sassy and steamy stories, they are unfailingly entertaining, just the right length, deliciously steamy, humorous while also highly emotive and squeezing my heart, and jam-packed with quirky smart-mouthed characters. I also love learning new words/Aussie terms and naughty word combinations such as wank stain, and dag. Such fun. Pure Attraction has two broken social isolates finding each other through an act of kindness, and ultimately saving each other emotionally, mentally, and physically. And believe me, when I say the sexy bits sizzled and fogged up my kindle. I required a second glass of wine just to cool down, sipped slowly of course. More, please!
I don't care for this type of writing style. I can't explain it. It just feels ridicolous, rushed and unbeliavable. The heroine is always looking back at her sad life, feeling unworthy and ugly. At least in the pages I've read. There was just too much of it. The hero was meh. The way he acted and talked, I just couldn't picture him ex-military. And he spent his days as his firends nanny? Always going to the park with the twins and being home every evening. Just too weard. And to top it off, the 11 month year old twins? Oh they're so cute, look they instantly love the heroine. And they want her to move in with them, and they can feel she's very sad, so they have to give huggies and whisper "Shh, shh". Yeah, like I believe that.
Sorry to say this wasn't my story. Nothing bad, just not my cuppa.
Mia Lynn entered a relationship with a man knowing she didn't love him, but he was an out to a life that she needed out of. She had not expected for him to be so controlling and to find herself losing who she is, finding out she is pregnant is a game changer though and she decides to leave. With no plans she finds herself pregnant and homeless not knowing what to do.
Kai has been living with his best friend and his wife and has not been given a reason to move on. When he meets Mia he feels a protective instinct for her and quickly realizes she is the woman for him. He doesn't care that she is pregnant, he plans to treat the baby as his own. However, he needs to get Mia to accept that she can trust him and begin to build a life together.
Overall I really liked this story, but had a few eyebrow raised moments when Kai moves her into his friends house when they have little twins and they don't really know who Mia is. Mia was a bit clueless wasn't sure what her master plan was but she figured it out in the end. The chemistry is there between Kai and Mia, a slow burn but entertaining story.
This is a "new to me" read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's cute, sexy, and an easy read for any season.
Kai and Mia's story falls in the middle of the Attraction series, but there is also a duet series before this one which I'm curious about. I picked this read up when I saw the synopsis floating on my Facebook feed several times. It lured me in and caught my attention.
Kai is a natural protector, but after two unsuccessful attempts to save and protect lives he closed himself from those he's closest to. His heart just couldn't take that disappointment again. Then he comes across Mia who is homeless, pregnant and conditioned to believe less of herself. As they grow to know one another, the lines become blurry. Who's actually doing the saving and the protecting?
If you like easy, insta-love stories, this is the book for you. Kai and his friends will make you laugh and swoon with their humor and banter.
I read the first book in the series a few years back, and I really enjoyed it. I had seen this book advertised a lot over the past few weeks and decided to pick it up because I pregnant heroin and a man who fall so hard for her is something I can't read this. This was a book that I easily read and enjoyed. It was well written, it had a story that kept me hooked, and it just made me swoon a bit. I really like that even though it had been so long since I had read the first book, I felt like I had a really great understanding of these characters and all they were sharing. This book definitely has a bit of Insta love, but it works and I really enjoyed the characters. They were sweet, they definitely had a connection, and I liked getting to be there as they fell for one another. I love how easy it was to sink right into this book with these characters, and this author definitely made you care for them a lot.
I really do like this series .. the plot is good but like the first it feels rushed.. I love the characters. The sexy alpha men . This time Kai ..Mia I felt for her and I love the other women but I really want more details .. it's like the first book first 20% really good the last 20 % good but the middle feels rushed and im left wanting to know details about what happened with ivy in the first book .. im hoping the twins get there own book so I find out what's happened.. again will carry on with this series maybe I'll get my answers will defo read axels book x
Insta-everything but cute and enjoyable wit low drama and likable characters. I especially enjoyed Kai’s relationship with the twins and he deserved to be happy.
Pure Attraction by JB Heller is the second book in the Attraction Series. The story involves Kai (who we met in the first book in the series) and Mia Lynn. Mia had a very difficult life growing up and did what she thought she could to get away from it. One day she discovers she is pregnant then her world is really turned upside down. We met Kai Phillips in the first book of this series as Gabe’s best friend and co-worker. We saw the struggle he had with Tessa’s death and issues from his past that still haunted him. Kai and Mia meet through a simple act of kindness, soon realizing they both might just be exactly what the other needs. While I struggled staying invested sometimes with Undeniable Attraction, I enjoyed this novel much more. This book made me laugh, cry and the sexiness it offered practically made my kindle fog up sometimes. I gave this novel 4 stars, and probably would have given it 5 had explained a few things that we were left in the dark about from the first novel. I was sitting on the edge of my seats waiting on those details. This book was written in alternation persons which alternated between Kai’s perspective and Mia’s perspective which is a technique I really like. It helps me stay emotionally invested more understanding what is going on in the guy’s mind as well. My favorite part of this book and what really grabbed me was Mia’s character. The way her character was written and all the emotions involved made me really connect, which is something I look for pretty early on in a novel. I enjoyed seeing Kai and Mia’s journey as well as seeing Kai finally open up, become vulnerable and finally let someone in. JB Heller knows how to make you feel when reading which I commend. Pure Attraction did not leave on a cliff hanger thankfully. I also especially enjoyed that I knew they were not in American culture just by context clues. Axel provided a great comedic relief and I am anxiously waiting for JB Heller to write a novel about him! I would definitely read more by this author. She is fantastic!
This was one incredible story. Mia and Kai are both lost and searching for more in their lives. Mia was willing to stay in an abusive relationship until she found out she was pregnant. She ran to a better life for her and her baby. Kai was running from his past and was not expecting to change his life by talking to the homeless girl in the park. This book was a fine example of two people needing a change in their lives and finding that special someone to believe in them. Kai was a true alpha hero with the need to protect and care for Mia while she was trying hard to make it on her own. This story moved at a slow and steady pace which only added to the anticipation of the romance which did not disappoint.
“‘You’re so goddamned beautiful. I’ll never not want you,’ I breathed against her skin as my mouth descended and met her lips.”
4.5 Sizzling Sexy Stars!!
J.B. Heller stories are my kind of books. "Ang Friendly" Heart, Humor and Sexy!!
Mia has not had it easy, and that goes for Kai as well. I really enjoyed this story, it seriously had me in stitches laughing and quickly page turning. I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
I received this book as an ARC for a honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Stacy Aube for Cutting Muse Blog Review.
Mia had a hard life where she was tore down and made to think she was nothing and that no one wanted her. After realizing she needed to make a change she ran. A chance encounter led her to Kai. Kai saw something in Mia that drew him in. Everything is good but will the past tear them apart?
When I first started this series, I was quite to sure what to think about it. I liked it, but I was not freaking out about it.However, this book changed that for me. It is a wonderful book. It is sweet, and I just absolutely loved it!
Loved reading the journey of Kia whose had such heartbreaking loss learn to love again, and Mia whose dealt with a bad relationship in the past learn to trust.
Mia leaves her ex, who has made her feel like nothing, when sitting in the park wondering what she is going to do with her life now she’s homeless and pregnant, she meets Kai. Although Kai, hasn’t had a relationship in years due to his past, Kai finds himself instantly wanting to protect Mia, although they move fast and Kai lets Mia know how much cares and makes sure she understands he doesn’t just want a fling. Mia gets overwhelmed sometimes with how nice all Kai and his friends are as she’s never had that before and never felt like she belonged anywhere. Although both Kai and Mia have to work through their past and emotions as they both realise that what they have is special. When Mia’s past catches up with them, Mia realises the bond that the group has when they are all there to support her and Kai. Can’t wait to see what happens with Axel’s story and will be reading more from this author.
I absolutely adored this story. It brought me tears and best of all happiness. Mia was in a bad place when she found out she was pregnant. I admired her when she decided to leave these terrible circumstances for something better for herself and her baby. Mia had no where to go homeless at a park.
Kai is also sort of in a bad place. He lost his younger sister years ago. He is still hurting from this and he recently lost someone else he was supposed to protect. Kai is living with his friends helping them care for their twin and you just see what a good guy he is. At the park with the twins he meets Mia and immediately knows something is wrong.
Being the person he is he helps her and may also lose his heart to Mia. I loved these two story , but there is also a little drama towards the end for the heroine. Will these two and baby get their much deserved happily ever after.
This story’s characters are more likable than the first story. Here Kai decides to help a homeless pregnant woman, & by helping her, he starts feeling better about himself, too.
There are still some parts that aren’t written well. For example, Mia knows nothing about what being pregnant entails - her words, not mine (example, she doesn’t know what the first trimester is), yet she knows that sleep is very important for pregnancy.
Towards the end, Mia’s ex comes back into the picture. The author then writes part of this story from the points of views of secondary characters, & not the two main characters from the story, which doesn’t add to the story, in my opinion.
When the ex comes back, it is written that Mia “did nothing to deserve this behavior this time.” I have no problems with Mia’s character thinking this (since she was abused & it’s normal for her to think this way). I don’t like anyone else thinking this, though.
A whirlwind romance of a book with sizzling scenes and a protective alpha male in love at first sight. The beginning felt very rushed, if readers can suspend their disbelief then Kai and Mia’s book is truly a pleasure to read.
Mia’s been though a controlling relationship and does not want to jump back into one but knows she needs help, especially as she is pregnant. I empathised with Mia a lot and loved that she progressed through the book and was able to stand up for herself. Kai has a protective streak a mile long and a history that is truly sad. When these two sparks fly and chemistry fizzles.
This book is a pulse-pounding romance with drama, love and heat that had me eating up every single word. This hot series of companion books is a true pleasure to read with protective alpha males that just steal my heart.
I thought it was very sweet. I felt like it was a solid book-I did however wish there was more. I felt like there were elements missing-a bit more drama, a bit more humour, a bit more interaction between Gabe and Kai, maybe even a bit more interaction between Ivy and Mia. I also felt like the Trent story line was rushed. He was there and then he kidnapped her and then he was dealt with. I don't like when the kidnap plot is drawn out to no end but I still felt it was a little short. I was pleased with the book and it had serious potential at the start I just felt like it became quite flat which to be honest was a little disappointing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the second book of he series. They can be read as a standalone but so much better if you read them in order. Mia has just found out she's pregnant. She can't bring a baby into her life right now. So she decides to leave her no good boyfriend and start a new life for her an dher baby. Kai has been in a depressed state since his friend died. Only when he sees a lonely girl on the park bench does he get a spark of life. I really enjoyed Kai & Mia's story. They are definitely my favorites so far of the series.
I liked this book better than the first one in this series. There is an interconnected book about two of the side characters in this book series that I would suggest you read first. The book is about Stella and Sloan, two sisters. Mia and Kai’s story is an insta-love which I am not fond of. He basically picks her up in a park and falls for her immediately. Some unrealistic parts in this book but at least in this 2nd book the Security team that the men are a part of comes through in this story. H saves the damsel in distress this time.
From the first page I fell in love with Kai. He was so sweet. caring and protective. Both characters were dealt a bad hand in life and both deserve to be happy and have something good happy. I only wish that it explained a little more about Kai's past. About Kelly and Tessa. You don't really get a full story about it but I guess it may be in the first book which I didn't read. Overall this was a very sweet and enjoyable book. Great ending and I loved the cover.
Kai and Mia’s story Kai and Mia meet in a park where Mia found herself after leaving a toxic relationship, she’s homeless and pregnant. Kai realises almost instantly that Mia is homeless and his protective instinct kicks in so he take her home.
Their story is all about dealing with their pasts and finding their way forward together.
At first, I have to say, how Mia and Kai came together wasn't that great. Instantly like that but then I have to say these two really grew on me.
Kai was such a lovely character and you couldn't help but be on the sidelines cheering him on. Mia was a nice character as well and her come into her own with Kai showing her what live was about.
The loved the extended family and seeing them pop in through the story.
Pure Attraction was a enjoyable read with a possessive alpha male and a woman who needs to find herself. I enjoyed reading Kai and Mia’s journey of trust, love and finding yourself.
If you like a intsta lust/love story with a protective alpha male who is will to do anything to show a woman what a family and love truly is and a woman who is will to move froward and become a stronger person and realise that she is worthy then this is for you.
This book was short enough to finish quickly without saving you feel like it was lacking. I hadn't read the first book but I just might have to. Although Axel is a funny interesting character and I'm assuming he is next so I just may have to go there first.
Mia has run from the only life she has ever known only to be thrown into a life she doesn't think she deserves. Kai feels like he's always fails the people he is supposed to protect but hopes to be Mia's saving grace and maybe in the process find happiness.
