From the New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author of The Forgotten Child
Falling in Love with Jed Friessen was a dream come true.
Married to Jed, Diana has a family and is living her happily ever after. She knew heartbreak and suffering as a child, and the pain of rejection, but she now understands what it means to be loved.
However, when the past comes knocking on her door, reminding her of everything she's left behind, everything she was, and everything she's lost, her guilt and doubt threaten the life she's built with her husband.

This was another great read in the ongoing series featuring the Friessens. Once again, trouble has descended on the Friessens and they have all come together to protect their own. This time the trouble seems as though it is centered on Diana as her mother keeps stopping by under the guise of making amends for all that she put Diana through as a child. Jed, however, is certain that she wants something more and is determined to protect his wife at all costs. Surprisingly, it seems she really does want to make amends as she reveals that there is yet another threat against Andy's wife. Will poor Laura ever be safe? This was another great read and I'm eager to find out what is going on with Neil since the past few books have hinted that he is troubled.
I received a copy of this book in return for leaving an honest review. I love reading more about the Friessens. And I really do love this Abook. We get to spend some time with Jeff and Diana. And thank god we get to see Diana form a somewhat stronger backbone. Jed is still annoyingly over protective, and that's just my opinion though. I 20s really happy that Jed's parents and brothers were able to talk a little sense into him. We got to see Diana grow as a person, wife and mother. The one thing that I always love about this series is that it shows that at times it does take a village. That we all are all human and make mistakes, and that with family and those that we love our mistakes are redeemable. I cannot wait to read what's next.
The Friessen men are certainly dominant alpha males, Jed especially. At first glance you might think overly so, and you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong. But what they all want most, besides keeping their families safe from harm, is the happiness of their wives and children, and they’ll do anything for that to happen, even if it means going against their own nature. The Friessen women have grown to be strong and confident knowing they have the full support and deep abiding love of their men. Like his brothers, Jed’s initial instinct is to keep Diana close to protect her from getting hurt, but deep in his heart he knows he has to let Diana find her own path, which won’t be easy, since the return of her mother has certainly made her feel more vulnerable and uncertain; feelings she thought she had put behind her. There’s a lot of twists and some surprising turns in this tale that eventually brings the Friessen brothers, including Andy, all back together. But the surprises don’t stop there and there’s even more to come. This is definitely one that will keep you completely involved from the start. It’s a page turner from beginning to end that you won’t want to put down, so be sure you make the time for this one; you’ll be glad you did.
We are back with the Friessens, this time, though the story centers around Jeb and Diana who have been married for a few years, it also includes Jeb’s parents as well as other members of the Friessen family, mainly Andy. Jeb is still processsing secrets he’s discovered about his parents , when Diana’s mothe , and her past, come knocking on their door. Is Faye really wanting to reconcile with Diana? WIll bringing someone that needs a lawyer put a wedge between Diana and Jeb? And what really is Faye’s agenda, especially since past experiences makes them all suspect she has an ulterior motive. Once again, we are reminded that as wonderful as life is, it’s sometimes messy. That everyone has a secret and things are not always what they seem. That life is not black and white but rather various colors of gray. This is another engaging story with complex characters that will keep you on your toes from the beginning to the end. The narrator in this audiobook did a good job with the various voices in the story. You always knew who was either speaking or thinking.
Once you start reading about this family it is very hard not to keep carrying on this one is about Jed and Diana.she did not have a very good beginning to her life though her motherhood she has not had anything to do with for years now has started turning at their ranch Jed has told her to stay away when he finds out she is still calling and this is having a worry effect on his wife he calls is brothers and Andy for help they find out why she really is here and deal with it. This has had a lasting affect on Diana Jed thinks he knows the best way to deal with this but-to. start with it is not what Diana needs great story yet again
Dianna and Jed are living a wonderful life together, full of love and happiness. Until her mother makes an appearance after being told to never come near them again by Jed. What he finds out is that Faye has visited twice before while he wasn't home. What does she want this time? There is always a plan behind her front, but what is it? Is she there to destroy their happiness? The Friessen brothers all come together to help Dianna and to stand behind her all the way. Their plan? Find out just what Faye is up to and get her out of town. Another wonderful story about the Friessen family.
Ms. Eckhart does family sagas like no other! I have jumped around this series and am working on filling in the holes. I always forget how awful the elders of this family are (were) because the children are phenomenal. All of the boys are a little over-protective but extremely loving with their families. This book deals mainly with Jed & Diana but we get to see the other boys a little bit. As usual, a wonderful read with lots of emotion.
The Promise (The Friessens #3) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Being married to Jed, Diana has a family and is living her happily ever after. She now knows what it means to be loved after feeling heartbreak and suffering as a child. Her past comes knocking and reminds her of everything she left behind. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
I found this book a very heart warming book , just like Lorhainne Eckhart's other books. It's bad to keep secrets, they will always come back to bit you in the end, and you may loose everything that you hold dear.
I just discovered Ms. Eckhart's addictive writing this month, thru a free ebook alert service I subscribe to. After reading that book, I was hooked. I have since read several of her books, and signed up for her newsletter. I received a free copy of this book from the author for an honest review. This was another book in the Friessen Family series, featuring Jed and Diana Friessen. Since I was first introduced to Jed and Diana's relationship in Fallen Hero, I've loved his protectiveness of Diana and the way he fights against being overbearing, which is sometimes hard for all the Friessen men; Jed's brothers Brad and Neil; his father Rodney and his cousin Andy. This story revolves around the disruption to Jed and Diana's family life with their sons, Danny 5 and Christopher 3. Someone responsible for all the turmoil in Diana's childhood is back, and the question is why? This person may also contribute to a current physical threat to Andy's wife as well as Diana. The male Friessens circle the wagons and do what they do best; protect their family, no matter what.
Now that the kids are in school, Diana is feeling a little restless. She wants to use her law degree a few hours a week. Jed isn't sure she'll be able to keep it to the hours the kids are in school. He admits he's possessive and selfish and wants her to focus her time and energy on him and the kids.
As Jed and Diana are trying to sort out how to handle Diana working, someone from her past shows up. Unlike in the past, this time when they show up, Diana isn't alone. She has family now to stand by her and help her.
There are some surprises in this book. We also get to catch up a little with the other Friessen men and their parents. I have enjoyed all of the Friessen books and The Promise did not disappoint!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Jed doesn't want Diana to work. He wants her home taking care of the boys Danny and Christopher she had with Jed. Jed like to have her home, when he come in from the ranch after working with the horses, she is there greeting him with a smile and kisses. and when the boys come home from school she there waiting for them. Then Faye comes back to town and Diana is scared that her mother will ruin everything for her. But Jed calls his brother and the whole gang shows up and takes care of business. and Todd shows up at the meeting with Faye. And Faye decides to leave town and not to bother Diana again.
I received this for my honest review. This is the first book I have read by the author, even though I haven't read the first two this was easy to follow. Diana is happy with Jed and her two boys but there is a niggle at the back of her mind that she wants to use her law degree now the boys are bigger, but she knows she may have a hard time convincing Jed. Before she can get started a visit from past throws things in the air and it brings the other Friessen brothers to surround her in their protective way, There are plenty of twists and turns and you do feel their turmoil but also their loyalty to their family.
Jed and Diana only thought they were through with his crazy family after his mother passed away. However little did they know that the mother had set out other little plans that were taking place from Beyond the Grave. I quickly fell into this story the narrator did an amazing job and kept the characters alive through each individual book in the series. the narrator made me wish the book was never going to end. Hopefully we get to hear more from them as a collaboration in the future. I have to say I'm not a big fan of Jed he is very old school I am man you will listen to me which gets quite annoying especially since he got his way in the end.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Having said that, it does not change my opinion of this book.
The Promise is Eckhart at her finest. The protective, alpha family men elicit such complex emotions from the reader. This book like all other Friessen books leaves such a strong sense of family. The characters in this series keep you coming back for more. This book answered some questions from previous books in the series and had some intriguing twists in the plot.
I’m so happy to revisit Jed & Diana. When I first began reading, I thought that the book was going to be about their lifestyle. Then I got to the middle and found the next part of a very exciting and unexpected storyline. At that point I couldn’t put it down as the Freissens again banded together to resolve an issue for one of their family members. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!
The Friessens saga continues. Questions are answered in the book, and the boys are back together. While short, it packs lots of storyline. I would highly recommend you read the previous books first to get the total impact . Please note that I received a free copy of this book and I have in turn left this honest review.
Enjoyed The Promise and how Jed and Laura solved their differences. The ending chapters were quite a twist. Not expected that suspense in the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
