Okay, I admit it. These books are definitely a guilty pleasure. On my read through all of my physical books on my bookcase to decide whether to keep or get rid, I'll probably keep these books and hide them at the back.

However. This was really and truly, a nothing book. Nothing happens in this book. Aside from two tiny things at the end of the book, which will undoubtedly get recapped at the beginning of the next book anyway, you could skip this book and not miss anything. In fact, because it allows you to skip Jason and Dani's whining, I'd probably recommend skipping this one.

I will say this again. This series is definitely a guilty pleasure. I know I shouldn't like it but I do. I will admit that I feel bad for Jason. He finally gets the girl he's wanted for awhile now and because of what she is they have to hide their relationship. I was just glad that in the end everything was better.

aimed I think at the younger end of the YA scale but if you're after an extremely light, no hidden secrets, no adult content at all this is for you.

For some reason I have read up to book 6 (I think that's all published till now). if I'm honest the spin on vamps is a little different and some of the characters a little endearing.

And it's sometimes good to get a little light relief from heavy serious reading!!!!

An odd one this. I daren't say much as it will give too much away. A lot is revealed to us as readers and to the characters too.

Belle is getting over Dominics death by befriending Dani and she's also taken it upon herself to make Adam either cool or at least get a girlfriend......not sure what it is but as they get more comfortable with each other they seem to just....fit. That would be a cute thing to happen - unless you were a patent of a vamp that is.....

Some things to worry about later but I think there's some bridges to be crossed at a later date.

But I still couldn't in all good heart give any of them more than a 3* .
Yes Jason was a cute new guy who does well against all the vamps. Sienna does well as the beautiful yet is-she-isnt-she reachable female...... but there is STILL the whole vamp theme. More explanations are needed in the way of how they exist in general day to day etc....

And as much as yes I like Jason...how does he keep besting vamps? A mere mortal shouldn't. There should at least be a close call but he always saves the day....a little more will-he-wont-he or let a vamp be a hero with their strength or speed?

.....or maybe I don't have a clue what I'm talking about!!!! 😂😂😂 I don't know.

Sorry author.....you give a YA audience vamps in a great way and I try to ask for more than what you can give!!!

apologies!!....ill go sit in the corner over there.....!!!!😉😂😂 lol!!!!

A boring end to a boring series. There was never anything that hooked me here, and it's not something I would ever want to re-read or suggest to someone else. Honestly, it wasn't even worth reading once.

Vampire Beach Book #4

Legacy is all about Jason and Sienna’s new relationship.

Free to express themselves in public after Brad ( Sienna’s ex and Jason’s friend) gave them his approval.
Coming to the conclusion he and S, we’re better off as friends.

So.

Things seem to be going sweet for these two love birds.

THEN!

Before you can say “Romeo and Juliet” plot twist!

Sienna’s parents put their foot down disallowing them to see each other.

Vampire and Human, forbidden to fall in love.

Which is exactly what has happened.

Thus, this lead is to the other part of the story.

Jason’s dilemma!

If given the opportunity, would he go through a “transformation” and become vampire?

He loves Sienna so much, that desperation is pushing him in that direction.
However, it would mean, he would age considerably slow as an adult,
and
is he prepared to watch his parents and younger sister pass away while he lives on.

And!
He would have to go through the whole flirting with human strangers to drink some of their blood…
Yeah.
He’s not too keen on the whole blood drinking part.

But it WOULD mean Sienna’s parents couldn’t keep them apart.

Unfortunately, for Jason, his Aunt Bianca, shows up

( Bianca who was once human but transformed for love, and is now acting extremely irrationally )

and takes that decision out if his hand when she catches the two love bugs in an embrace in Jason Pool house, threatening to tell the Vamp, council AND, more importantly Sienna parents.

However she up for striking a deal..
Bianca, has no children and she will lose all vampire wealth without an heir

So. She’s desperate for Jason to become Vamp,.

Sienna, is fearful she knows what some of the repercussions of becoming a VANP, can mean for humans

Then, Adam ( Jason’s nerdy friend ) discovers a little Easter Egg nugget on a Paranormal Website.

Jason just might be able to transform after…

This book, for the large part deals with the whole Vamp falling for human problem.
as Jason and his little sister Danielle, both have this to deal with.

So it was a little heavy on the High School teen angsty kids disobeying the parents vibe.

Thank goodness unstable Aunty Bianca showed up, or we would of just had Jason mooning about over the hauntingly, beautiful Sienna,

It got to the point, that I knew exactly in the story where Jason was going to run into Sienna.
Over, and over again.

Why was he being tormented like this ?

But Boy, OhBoy! …When he did, did he gush.

I began to think Sienna had cast a Vampire glamour spell over him, he had it so bad.

Anyway by the end…we’ll let’s just say, it involved, a car, and a sunset… yawn!

All about these books already feeling bad because there are only two left. It is simple and that's a good part of what makes it work. Not simple meaning predictable just stays reasonably straightforward.

I picked this up during my YA vampire binge (which I began for a class paper). Basically, I was intrigued by the fact that it's narrated by a male character which--someone correct me if I'm wrong--I believe is relatively rare (Peeps notwithstanding). Also, the set up--French vampire in-crowd = high school vampires / human-vampire romance poo-pahed by vampire parents--sounded pretty gleeful and campy. And honestly, it is. It just isn't really about vampires--at least, doesn't seem to be by the 5th chapter. I'm calling this one early on account of my being a little burned out on young adult blood sucking at the moment.

I mean, yes, the main character has a vampire girlfriend and vampire friends, but they go to high school and seem to go out during the daylight and also apparently do drink human blood, but don't kill people. (It's a little unclear--I am jumping into the middle of the series and while the plots of several of the preceding novels have been summarized over the course of the first 50 pages, some of the basic elements really have not been cleared up.) Mostly, the book starts with some residual drama from the previous book (vampire hunters stalking the girlfriends), an ill-fated yacht trip (because you know, the vampires are waaay rich), a human friend who sometimes adorably, sometimes annoyingly makes it very clear that he's a 'movie guy' (he mentions Baz Luhrman, Heathers, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather I and II, Top Gun,Saw III etc. within the first few chapters), and, of course, the disapproving vampire parents totally ruining things by telling their vampire daughter that she can't date a human boy.

But when you get down to it, it's really just a novel about high schoolers' dating lives. Which is fine. Just not what I set out to read. I read someone call this series 'Vampire Lite," which might be accurate. But if you just like to see supernatural beings doing totally normal things (at least normal by Malibu, California standards), then this is the series for you.

Legacy by Alex Duval is the fourth book of the Vampire Beach series. In the book, the protagonist, Jason Freeman, has to make a tough decision between whether or not he is going to transform into a vampire and be with his girlfriend, Sienna Devereux (who is a vampire) or let Sienna move away to somewhere across seas and break up with him. Since vampire and humans do not belong to another, Sienna was forced by her parents and the “high council of vampires” to break up with Jason although they both like each other and was forbidden to see each other again. If Jason chose to remain as human then he would not be with Sienna forever. On the other hand, if Jason chose to become a vampire, he might have a possibility that he would go insane or even die. Therefore, he is caught between these two choices. While reading this book, I thought that idea and the plot seemed really interesting and captures the reader. However, on the other hand, after finishing this book, I was not completely satisfied with the ending because it seems like nothing really happened but just taking a long loop and ended up in the same place while being satisfied with the way they are. While reading, I thought that the book is similar to Romeo and Juliet in a way how they are completely from two different groups but rather the outcome ended up differently because Sienna’s parents found out unlike Romeo and Juliet’s situation. In addition, the idea of transformation of a human to a vampire reminds me of the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer when the protagonist, Isabella Swan wanted to be transformed into a vampire by Edward Cullen.

Jason Freeman is not what you would call an average teenager who lives in California. Unless, to you, battling the evil vampires, only to win and be secretly honored, befriending the good ones, trying to save his friend from the world of vampires, falling in love with his best vampire friend's girlfriend, and trying to keep this all a secret, is normal.

Fortunately for Jason, this all proved to not be a challenge since not only was he able to survive the vampires, he was able to survive the social ladder of the high school world, all in one shot.

Now, with Brad's approval, Jason is finally able to date Sienna, the first and only girl he had a crush on since he moved to DeVere Heights. Their relationship couldn't get any better; that is, until Sienna's parents discover who she is dating in place of Brad. Their main problem with Jason is how he isn't a vampire, since it is wrong to date outside of their clan.

Of course, Jason doesn't take this lightly, but his aunt believes she has the perfect solution. Aunt Bianca, a vampire herself due to her late husband, hasn't been able to have children and wants to pass on the blood and the inheritance to Jason and his sister, Danielle.

At first this seems like a plausible solution. But when Jason takes it into consideration he isn't sure if he should change his whole life just for Sienna, or stay the way he is and live a normal life with his parents, away from all of the dangers that come with being a vampire.

The thrilling conclusion to the VAMPIRE BEACH series, LEGACY will put chills down your spine, only to leave you hungering for more.

Jason is still in love with Sienna, one of the vampires of Malibu. Sienna's parent has forbid her to see him because they did not want Sienna to transform Jason into a vampire because it could be very dangerous. He uses a machine and figure out that his aunt was one of the victims of a unsuccessful transformation. slowly, her mind pushes her into insanity.
I thought this book was a very interesting, like the other books in the series. i am a fan of these books that relates to the real world and to some fantastical element. the plot was interesting, unlike most books i read. Even though some idea were very common in other books, it was interesting to read. i read this book in the course of 2 days, because i couldn't put it down.

Okay, so i thought this was the last book but i found out there are more n im super excited to read the rest. if this was the last one id be really satisfied , jason finds out he can turn into a vampire without dieing or slowly going insane like aunt bianca is, n now he's free to be with sienna , he doesnt turn into a vampire at the end, cuz him and sienna r taking it slow, but they practically have her parents ( who r agaisnt the relationship )black mailed because they know its safe to turn jason so they could run away and she could turn him i mean , jason would have all he's every wanted and all he'll ever need; sienna, he'll inherit his aunts money, her power, and ofcourse .. her legacy (hence the title lol )

I'm not sure why I assumed this was the last book...probably because I bought the newly published versions and didn't know there were two more! Even better! In this book, Jason is tested to his max and of course overcomes all odds to be with his true love, the vampire Sienna. In this book, Dani also gets a bigger role when she decides to start dating a vampire as well, described as the "golden retriever" of vampires Ryan Patrick. Everything is going well until Sienna and Jason are forbidden from seeing each other and Aunt Bianca comes back. Now, Jason has the opportunity to be turned into a vampire to be with Sienna forever, Dani must stay human, and Bianca is slowly going insane. Can't wait to find out what happens next!! :D

Now that's what I'm talking about. The romance builds, then drops, the builds again (as it supposed to). The action is exciting with intrigue, expionage, family problems, etc. Jason has it coming from all sides.

I love his Aunt Bianca. I'm sad about her condition, but it's needed for Jason's benefit. I'm also both sad and happy over Dani, but it would be weird if they both.. well... ;)

I didn't find any strange foods in this one, unless you count the lemons for the hair or the ten-alarm chili. But there are alot of movie references. I'm not sure how I feel about all Adam's movie stuff. I'm kind of on the fence between liking it or starting to be annoyed with it.

Fave scene: The DeVere Center "visit'.

It is very unfortunate to fall in love with a vampire because you have to overcome many difficulties. Jason falls in love with a vampire named Sienna. There is a chance for him to transform to a vampire. But there are so many thing that he has to consider. First of all, it si really hard to make a choice between the girl he loves and his family. Once he transforms to a vampire, the relationship betwwen he and his parents would be different. He can't tell them the truth, he has to lie to them. Furthermore, there is a risk to be transformation. This is a big decision for Jason, a decision that can change his whole life.

This is a really good book.

There really isn't much to say about this book because a lot of stuff didnt happen. Jason found out that sienna cannot be with him because her parents don't was her with a non vampire. So those to are sneaking around but sienna parents threaten to move her to France of they catch her with him

Jason's aunt suggests he turns into a vampire so he can be with sienna. Jason doesn't no but his aunt threaten to tell if he didn't

Siren a found a way to test his DNA to see if he can be a vampire or get a sickness but the results end in another adventure that Jason gets into

Four whole books before the possibility of|| the human becoming a vampire|| is mentioned, must be some hind of record for this genre. For an even more unique take these teens dont seem in any kind of rush, ||well unless you count Dani but even she saw sense quickly||. ||I did really feel sorry for Dani though, loosing the option and realising the mistake she almost made||. I am so happy for Jason that now ||he will have his sister there for him to talk to||. Will be interesting to see how the reveal in this book will affect the series

I loved the way that Duval captures your imagination and holds it till the very end of the book. It’s a gripping love story with a lot of wit and humor along the way. I love how even though Jason and Sienna is in love with each other they ad to go through so many obstacles to be together. And that made the story more interesting. This is what set this series apart from the rest. You just don’t get the simple happily ever after. It’s a fantastic YA fiction and for those who enjoy a quick read.

I've been loving the Vampire Beach series and I think this one might be my favourite so far! They're really fun, easy summer reads to speed through with lots of tension, romance and of course vampires. They are definitely intended more to a YA audience but I still found them enjoyable and not too predictable. As I say, this one is definitely my favourite but I don't want to give too much away so just know I recommend it haha!
