"I'm a poor lonesome cow-boy and a long way from home..." Traduit en français, cela donnerait à peu près ça : "Je suis un pauvre cow-boy solitaire, loin de son foyer..." C'est la complainte que chante Lucky Luke, "l'homme qui tire plus vite que son ombre", chaque fois que s'achève un album de ses aventures. Et comme il bourlingue dans l'Ouest américain depuis quelques dizaines d'années, il a eu tout le temps de s'éclaircir la voix... Lucky Luke apparaît en effet pour la première fois dans l'Almanach de Spirou daté de 1947 et publié fin 1946. Son créateur est un certain Morris - Maurice de Bévère pour l'état civil. Un passionné de westerns et d'Amérique, qui séjourna d'ailleurs aux États-Unis au début des années cinquante. Il rencontra notamment l'équipe du délirant magazine Mad, qui lui donna l'envie de faire de son personnage une pure parodie. Il croisa aussi la route de René Goscinny, futur père d'Astérix, qui deviendra le scénariste de Lucky Luke en 1955 et le restera jusqu'à sa disparition en 1977. Les albums de Lucky Luke revisitent l'histoire du western et mettent en scène avec humour et distance les grandes figures de l'Ouest, comme le juge Roy Bean ou Calamity Jane. Et, bien sûr, les fameux frères Dalton, transformés ici en un quatuor pitoyable et drolatique, passant son temps à s'évader de prison avant d'y être reconduit par le héros... Et puis, il y a Rantanplan. Celui qui a dit un jour que le chien était le meilleur ami de l'homme ne devait pas connaître Rantanplan, le chien le plus stupide à l'ouest du Pecos - et sans doute partout ailleurs. Heureusement que Jolly Jumper, cheval du héros et, à l'occasion, son partenaire au jeu d'échecs, est là pour rétablir l'équilibre... Aujourd'hui, Lucky Luke a un petit peu changé. Par exemple, il ne fume plus. Il a remplacé la cigarette par une brindille d'herbe. Il boit plus volontiers du coca que du whisky. Mais avec sa chemise jaune, son jean à revers blancs, son gilet noir et son foulard rouge, il reste sans nul doute le cow-boy le plus célèbre de toute la bande dessinée. --Gilbert Jacques

Veroordeeld om tot in de eeuwigheid de aarde te verlichten, komt de zon weer op boven het sombere silhouet van de gevangenis van Yuma, Arizona.

De Daltons trachten weer te ontsnappen, maar door Averells stommiteit mislukt de onderneming. Joe geeft 'm een flinke pandoering waardoor Averell plots zijn geheugen kwijt is. Om te ontsnappen veinzen de broertjes ook geheugenverlies.

During their latest escape attempt the four Dalton brothers manage to tunnel into the neighbouring cell just prior to a visit from the prison authorities. With the tunnel entrance concealed beneath the bunk they learn that the cell’s occupant is suffering from amnesia, and because he has no knowledge or memory of his past crime he is told he’s like a new man and can go free. Naturally, this offers a potential new route out of jail for the Daltons.

The problem they have is convincing the authorities, and Lucky Luke, that their amnesia is genuine, and certainly, from time to time, following occasional blows to the head, it is. But naturally Lucky Luke smells a rat and sticks with them to ascertain whether or not it’s true.

This is another great Lucky Luke tale with plenty of opportunities for some great gags and puns, not least Rin Tin Can, the prison dog who suffers his own bout of amnesia and becomes convinced he’s a cat, and the gradual temptation of the Daltons that reveals their true colours as the story rolls on.

Der neuste Trick der Daltons: Sie tun so, als hätten sie Gedächtnisschwund und wären damit schuldunfähig, da sie Taten an, die sie sich nicht erinnern, nicht bereuen können. Lucky Luke wird also damit beauftragt, die Brüderbande mit Bank-, Zug- und Postkutschenraub zu konfrontieren, damit sie sich wieder erinnern können. Er bekommt dazu sogar die Vollmacht des Gouverneurs, diese Verbrechen begehen zu dürfen. Das führt zu allerlei Verwirrung - auch, weil zwischenzeitlich zwei der Brüder tatsächlich beginnen, unter einer Amnesie zu leiden. // Ach ja, "Lucky Luke" Band 63 "Gedächtnisschwund" schafft es leidlich, ein paar Schmunzler hervorzurufen, krankt aber an der steten Wiederholung der gleichen Witze und holt aus der eigentlich ulkigen Prämisse viel zu wenig raus. Highlight: Hund Rantanplan, der denkt, er sei eine Katze.

The Dalton Brothers pretend to have lost there Memory.
Lucky Luke has the Job to remind them of there criminal Instincts, or to proof there frauds.
It seems to work quiet well until he seeks help from Ma Dalton, who imideatly tricks him, leading into Joe Dalton taking over the next Town as new Major.
His attempt to sentence Luke to death fails, and he gets what he deserves.

Artstyle and Pacing are Top, the Humor is realy good, only some Pages are a bit Pale, if I remember correctly. Pretty good Comic Issue.

Kali ini Dalton Bersaudara berpura-pura menjadi amnesia supaya dibebaskan dari hukuman serta keluar dari penjara. Tetapi Lucky Luke tidak percaya begitu saja, ia selalu mencari cara agar Dalton Bersaudara terbukti tidak amnesia dengan melakukan perampokan yang sudah menjadi kebiasaan hidup mereka dengan alasan mengingat kembali ingatan lama mereka. Meskipun terkadang tidak sesuai dengan yang diharapkan, Lucky Luke tidak mudah menyerah sampai akhirnya mereka dibawa kembali ke penjara.

Red Kit'in bu kadar basit çaresiz kalması ayrı saçma, Joe'nun diğer herkesi alt ederek yargıç rolüne girmesi ve valiyi hiçe sayması ayrı saçmaydı. Nihayetinde seri benzer çizgilerinde gidiyor ama konu bildiğimiz Red Kit serisinden basit gidiyor. Rintintin ise salak köpek rolünü eşsiz devam ettiriyor.

This is a good one.

When the Daltons see a prisoner with amnesia being released from prison, they try to fake it. But sadly, with Averell and Lucky Luke trying to sabotage the act, this soon becomes a fun filled read.

Z pogoscinnovských Lucky Luků zatím asi ten nejlepší! Daltoni předstírají ztrátu paměti, aby se dostali z vězení, což samozřejmě vede k mnoha vtipným situacím. Příběh drží pohromadě a hezky odsýpá.

🤔Zeker een leuk album en weer leuke rollen voor Rataplan (die na een steen op zijn kop denkt dat hij een kat is) en Averell, die advocaat van Lucky Luke wordt en voorkomt dat Luke opgehangen wordt.
