One woman is dead. Another is missing. And a 12-year-old girl might be the next victim. Is a four-pound Chihuahua really to blame? Police Chief Randy Sorensen and the Dog Ladies at Redbud Area Dog Rescue are on the case in this second book in the Dog Lady Mystery series. The first book is Redbud: A Dog Lady Mystery.
A good mystery set in a small Nebraska town, with likable older main characters. I nearly gave it a four but for a couple of things that started to really bug me. One was the constant use of "Redbud", which is the name of the town. It was always thrown out there, whenever speaking of the town itself, the animal rescue that two of the mcs own, the high school, the flowering trees, or the citizens. The second is the general cozy mystery problem of repetition (facts, names, places, etc.). Despite those irritants I may be curious enough to try the next in the series.
2nd book in the Dog Lady mysteries, great read, so much help for the abused animals. Finding a fortune gives the ladies a chance to make a more comfortable home for the rescued dogs. Great mystery, several suspects, a lot of surprises! See 3 and 4 will be out this year, waiting patiently for the next book. Romance blooming for a couple of the ladies(?
Great book, I enjoyed this story very much. As a dog lover I love the way that the care of the dogs were so important to the story. I give this 5 stars. Enjoy
I enjoyed reading this book. It kept you wondering who the murderer was. It also made you wonder about the past lives of Sylvia and Shirley. I would recommend this book to all my friends.
