“You look like shit and I can smell the scotch seeping out of your pores from here.”
His editor’s words sting but Danny knows they are true. He’s in a tailspin. Though the celebrated author of several bestsellers, his work feels empty. He needs a new direction. When his agent suggests he travel to Paisley, Scotland to research his new book, Danny believes the sleepy town is the perfect place to recharge his batteries and refocus his career. He couldn’t be more wrong. Paisley’s unassuming appearance is dangerously deceptive and Danny plummets into a tumultuous journey of self-discovery that unearths unimaginable horrors. He will learn a hard truth. Nothing good can come from dredging up the past.
I'm giving five stars because this was a well written story with a well thought out plot. Paisley drew me in and fulfilled my every hope of what it would be. I'm hoping there will be more to Danny and Ashley's story.
Horror isn't my normal genre. I am a tacky romance novel kinda girl, through and through. That being said, I was so wrapped up in the story that once I started, I couldn't put it down. I loved the suspense and darkness that's woven into throughout the whole story. The author clearly has some strong feelings on the subject and this book made me want to research Paisley even more! It's a great read that I'd highly recommend!
