By day she is a high-powered hustler with an enviable career, while at night, in her dreams, she plays a deadly assassin. Tormented by the crimes she has witnessed, Zahra doesn't tell anyone about her nightmares. But, when she meets her new boss, Mr. Jayce Tohmatsu, she soon realizes that they have more in common than just the company they work for, and that her dreams are the storytellers of her long-forgotten past.
Unable to resist the magnetic pull between them, Zahra and Jayce embark on an all-consuming and passionate affair-one that is built on love as well as lies. As Zahra's dreams intensify, she will discover that she is not the only one keeping secrets, that the past is never truly forgotten and that all debts must be paid, one way or another.
BOOK #2: The Ghosts of Their Pasts
LOVE HADN'T BEEN ENOUGH TO SAVE THEM.
Zahra Foster is alone again and once more haunted by the night. If Zahra thought Raven's past was bad, nothing could have prepared her for Makare's.
While Zahra tries to piece together the fragments of her past lives, Jayce is dealing with his own demons. The Tohmatsu family is being threatened, and Jayce blames himself.
With a security situation spiraling out of control, Zahra and Jayce are brought back together--along with the ghosts of their pasts. Can they make amends for their mistakes and learn to trust each other? Or are they still keeping secrets?
BOOK #3: The Blood of Their Sins
SOME SECRETS AREN'T MEANT TO STAY BURIED FOREVER.
Zahra Foster screams in the night, and wakes in a cold sweat. But for the first time in her life, she wants to see her dreams. She needs to. Because this isn't just about her anymore--it involves Jayce, too. And her dreams could save their lives.
Blood has been shed, betrayal committed, and the sins of their past are coming back to haunt them. Zahra knows that if they want to survive, they will have to uncover the damaging secrets buried deep in their souls. They will need to see who they truly are and what they have done, because those whom they have hurt want one thing: revenge.
The Blood of Their Sins is the gripping conclusion of Zahra and Jayce's story--a tale that shows the heartbreak and beauty of life, and that every moment, no matter how insignificant, is designed to make us who we are.

I loved Jayce and Zahra!! This series was amazing! It was full of mystery and suspense. Zahra had lots of dreams that felt very real. Then she recognized someone from her dreams of the past and they knew they had been together in several past lives. They reincarnated together with other people from there past. Those others were out to destroy them so they need to stay safe to stop the wrongs of the past.
What a story! The story of past lives running in with the current lives. Lessons to figure out and to learn from. Great characters and great stories. Hated it to end.
These are the first books from this author that I have read. Before purchasing this book set I had got the first book free. Noticed the ad on Facebook & downloaded. Wasn't to sure if I was going to read it because it was a series based book & I tend to stay away from those. Though for some reason every time I open my kindle app I was drawn to it so I thought well I'm not really out anything but a few hours of my time if I don't like it. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised!! I finished it that night & like with any series based book I was left wanting more, why the book set...lol I was a little disappointed in book number 2. I don't think it was as good as the first but understand where she was going with it so all in all it was still a great read. Number 3 I think was my fav! If I had one negative, it would be the ending. I was left wanting a little more especially after investing myself in 3 books. It felt to rushed & still unfinished. Even with some negatives here or there surrounding the book but hey what book is perfect & at least she wrote a book. I loved them. Thank you Brooke! I look forward to your other series James Thomas.
Ok... I read these books AFTER I read the James Thomas series and Deacon Thomas books. It did fill in some gaps that I didn’t know when I read the other books. These were very different. I don’t believe in reincarnation so while reading that part it was as though I was reading two books/stories at the same time. I found myself just as interested in finding out about the “past life” as I did about what was going on with Jayce and Zahra. I loved the connection of the family, blood related or not. And I felt myself becoming angry at the cousins. Very angry. (Not gonna say much else about that). I didn’t really know what to make of Kyoji, but in the end, he only had Jayce’s best interest at heart. There was a different culture throughout this book that doesn’t surface in the others. The lead-in to the next series (James Thomas) is phenomenal! I love the easy flow of reading, word choice, etc. I’m thinking of just continuing on with the James Thomas series again followed by the Deacon Thomas story again. ALL really great reads!! Worth a second read! Maybe even a third, while waiting on what’s next.
Posted on FB was a free copy of book one in this series, however after finishing the first book I was interested enough to buy the series book set, much as I did with the JT series. Brooke led the reader through what I considered to be a well written and interesting romance in book one, then I started on book two and that tame fantasy romance became something else. The author leads the reader softly through the turbulent dreams of previous lives that coalesce with the life lovers are living now. Anyone wanting to read the James Thomas series should start with this one but it's not obligatory as Brooke Sivendra cleverly finishes the story at the end of each series but as all good writers do leaves her readers gasping for more. I highly recommend both The Soul Series and The James Thomas series to any reader who wants books full of mystery, mayhem and romance.
They were trashy, easy reads but UGH. Abuse of power by the boss from their very first meeting to SUCH a significant degree that I found it infuriating. Zahra being into it and Jayce being compelled by his past life didn’t make it ok or sexy. Both felt so strongly about their values and priorities, then drop those values like a hot coal as soon as they meet each other. Also, it completely glorifies 80+ hour work weeks. I enjoyed how the past lives came into play, Kyoji, and the James Thomas parts...but then there would be more workplace inappropriateness and toxicity and I’d get angry all over again.

This series delivers in all areas! Told in multiple POVs that moves the story along and keeps the suspense building. There is serious steam between Zahrye and Jayce that keeps you cheering them on toward the eventual HEA ending they deserve. It also introduces the James Thomas series main characters so out is best too read this series prior to the James Thomas series. Awesome read! You won't want to put it down.
