My Dope Boy From Atlanta

Rate this book
Nothing ever came easy for the eighteen-year-old Déj Renee Clark. Raised in the grittiest section of Dallas, TX known as Oakcliff, grinding hard was her only means of survival. She knew the real meaning of struggle because she never had much but wanted everything. Instead of waiting for life to get easier, Déj dives head first into the game. On her paper chase, there was no time for a boyfriend and she made that known. Déj also has a façade to keep up as being a tough chick. That is until her dope boy from Atlanta, Reign Black returns to D-Town after being gone for 8 long years. Reign is the boss now and he has it all…the money, the cars, the clothes. He sets Déj's heart on fire and she suddenly has a change of heart. There wasn't a man alive that the young beauty couldn't have, but Reign Black...she needed him. However, he comes with a price tag that the young dope girl might not be able to afford. What does it cost to be with The Boss?

This book was everything and more. I loved Reign and everything about him. Dej wasn't looking for love or anything like that, but when Reign pops back into her life, she doesn't know what to do. Someone is out to get Reign Black (Malik), but he is getting help from someone inside of Reigns operation. Can't wait to see who it is. The ending was very shocking, I wasn't expecting that cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what happens next. Great job Sol.

A MUST READ!!!!

At Sol you got another BANGER!!!! This story kinda touch me a little... I love Some Dej, Reign, Tasha, Mack!!! I like Sheena but I felt like she didn't fight for Reign.. But you can tell she love him. Reign love her too but he's in love with Dej...I don't like Dej mother at all. Nicki and Big Sean I don't like and I feel like they are sneaky as hell. I haven't been through what Dej went through but I felt connected to her... But by me reading your books and being a fan I know you got a great turn around for her. But I just want to say I love your books bc they are like Mysteries and you have to pay attention to the clues you throw out there!!! Definitely a pager turner to me... I can't wait for part 2 bc the ending had me like OMG!!! And who is the STICH!!!

Omgggggh

Let me start out saying this was one hella book. Deja was that hard core type of girrrrl. That dang Sheena got on my nerves with her insecurities like chic you gave your man away. All she did was talk about Deja even even Reign had did no wrong. When reign find out he surrounded by a bunch of snakes it's gone be hell to pay. I can't wait to read next book cause i hope Deja be ok

🤷🏽‍♀️

Didn’t really hold my attention. Moved slow and was very predictable after chapter 8. Not sure if I will read book 2.

No Originalty

This was the first book I read by this author and let's just say I was not impressed. The misspelled words, incorrect word placement and poor grammar were a distraction from the story. There were also slight inconsistencies throughout the story. The poor editing and consistencies didn't warrant the 1 star rating, however the lack of originality did. Immediately upon reading this book I noticed similarities to another book and the similarities became so blatant that half way through this book I stopped reading it. I think originality in this genre is important, as a reader I'm always looking for an urban novel that has a fresh innovative take on the age old "dope boy" story line. And I must say this writer totally missed the mark. This story was done recently, and might I add it was done significantly better by the previous author. Needless to say I would not recommend this book to fellow readers.

As women we sometimes want that bad guy or what we call thug in our life. Sometime that is a bad idea. Reign & Dej have history from when they were kids. They decide to see what could be between them. In the process Sheena feels betrayed & hurt. There is nothing worse than a bitter women who feels that she has been used & hurt for no reason. so they sometimes seek revenge or to get you setup. I'm not sure who was the one who called the cops but Dej got caught in the long run . I just hope Reign be there for her through this. I hope they figure out who did it cause it was just wrong. Good book to read especially about love when it been years & it's still there.

This was everything anticipated

I really liked the chemistry that Reign Black and Dej had. Everyone has had that one to get away and it was clearly showcased here in this book with the residual feelings that Reign and Dej were unable to fight. I felt sorry for Sheena but the heart wants what the heart wants. All in all this was a good read and I can't wait to see what Ms. Sol has in store for us for pt. 2. As always the writing was Grade A once again exhibiting the God given talent that she has been blessed with!

I thought this was a really good read with a great storyline & content. I'm hoping Dej & Reign make it through this turmoil. It helps they were childhood friends & know each other quite well. While Brenda is a horrible mother, Reign seems to be providing the support & care Dej needs in her young life. Sheena is not to be taken lightly...The ending has me definitely ready to read the next part.

Expected more

This read had an awesome storyline, but I felt it was prolonged and repeated. The characters are easy to love and relate to. However, the ending was too predictable and although there is some suspense it's still lacking in my opinion. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Loved it

Good job with painting the characters so good that I felt as if I knew them personally. I was so wanting Reign to get his act together but then I thought about it possibly being true love. As we all know, true love never die. Heading over to start book 2 I have to see how this unfold

Reign and Dej

This book is awesome.. The author made the situations and characters seem so real.. The connection between Reign and Dej is so real and I love it, but will Reign ride for Dej? Sheena is heartbroken and out to hurt Reign. So I am ready to see where it all ends..

OMG! OMG! OMG! This book had me on the first paragraph! I literally could not put it down. One thing I loved most about it is that the book takes place in my neighborhood. It's rare that I've read authors form Dallas. I'm so ready for part two and I can't wait to read more books from this author.
