Too short
I was trying to enjoy this story, but it seems to have left out too many details. There was a mystery of the Laird's son, but few details. This story had too many details of what was in each room, but too few of the characters lives, loves, and feelings. The end leaves me very unsatisfied, as the story continues in another volume. Cliffhanger or sneaky way to sell a series. Too many grammatical errors and misspelled words.

Started like a possible good book.... BUT
I didn't like how the first meeting took place and she jumps into bed with him and I detest that it was not a full book. I go out of my not to download cliffhangers and if it is o e without it being clearly stated I am disappointed and avoid that author in the future.

I just love her stories. She has a fantastic way of bringing you into the character's world.

As an episodic serial, it stinks. Too much time is devoted to characters who don’t feature again in this story. Additionally, there is no build up in romantic tension. Muira jumps straight into bed with the Laird’s son, almost before she learns who he is. The premise os ok but it would be much better published as a full book.
I definitely won’t be paying $25 to read the rest of the story.

Short Fun
A fun short story. It gives a small glimpse into a servants life, while moving along the paranormal portion. It ends abruptly, but that's what hooks you into getting the next one in the series.

The story started out fairly well, then it became disjointed and abruptly ended with sex and a bite. It did not intrigued me into reading any more of the books in the series.

3 Chapter "book"? What a joke. I would have never bought it of I had known. I guess we need word count these days like we are back in school to meet basic standards.

Not sure why yet this has only 3.5 stars, the writing is much higher quality then the other werewolf romance books I read this year.
Nearly every sentence holds a purpose and is detailed:
I slipped into the passage and walked down the hall in a thick pair of my laird's stockings. The ground was cold, but I felt very little through the fine, thick wool dyed as red as his anger.
I do dislike that the sex is immediate chapter two or something, but it doesn't become ridiculous and slow down the story.
If this changes I'll update. People should give this a chance once you get accustomed to "ye old engish" speech then it's pretty fun.
Also, in this romance they seem to stand up for each other. Though the nain MC she needs to grow more of a spine, for now it's not her fault as she's been taught to be a servent.
- "Do you mean what you say?" he whispered to me.
I smiled and cupped his cheek in my hand as he had done to me so many times. "Every word," I swore.
His face was brightened by a wide smile. He swept his hands under my arms and pulled me from my seat so he could swing me in a wide, fast circle.
"My love! My beautiful goddess!" he yelled.
"My laird!" I gasped.
He set me down and wrapped me in a tight, warm hug. "I have waited so long for you, my love, and yet I dreamed I would have to wait forever to find such a creature as you." -
AWWW! ❤
Humm... I don't like this he's using her to call on powers like a ringbof fire and in this book there's Christians so he's making it so she could be treated like a witch and killed in horrific ways.
- I also noticed a change in the servants. They skirted away from me, and hurried threw filling my goblet after I had drained the contents. I smiled at them, but they averted their eyes and stepped back.
Tristan leaned over to me and laid his hand on mine which lay atop the table. "Heed it no mind, my love," he whispered.
I closed my eyes and nodded, but I felt as an outcast. I belonged in no world, or between them. The life of a servant lay behind me, but the life of a lady still lay far in front of me. -
Great, /s now people fear her, when it's Tristan's doing. (Can't say how it'd be a spoiler.)
A very exciting event happens, I'm sure if there was any foreshadowing or not, not sure if the author played fair, I'll have to go reread this book again later.
Everyone is overpowered the battles are won too easily, thry should have been drawn out more so they were earned.

I've read a few of this author's stories. They always ranged between good and not so good. I saw this pop up as free on Amazon and I had to grab it. Why not? Look at that cover! Plus who doesn't love a smexy Scottish werewolf ;)?
It started off okay with Muira who is a lovable gal who can't wait to start her new career at the castle as a cook servant. An opportunity that is rare. Things happen and she comes across a secret and a love and a dangerous world.
Things happened quickly...maybe a little too quickly. I was confused because one moment she is serving bread and the next she is in bed with the hottie. Wha? Where? When? *blinks* Okay. AND THEN IT ENDED. Bigger huh? Sighs okay.
The ending wasn't bad for a cliff hanger. Honestly...it was one of those cliff hangers you can pretty much be okay with. You know they live HEA and etc.
So yes, a big meh for me. I wanted more of a story and building of characters. I get it is a short story, but sometimes a short story can be too short. That cover though is awesome. I'll give it 2 stars.

I enjoyed this Scottish shifter romance between Tristan and Maura who is a servant for the Laird Campbell family and there are stories going around about Tristan and the employees in the castle love gossiping and Maura talks about her dad and lived with her mother and brother and love how descriptive the village and the castle is in the book and live the spicy scene between Tristan and Maura and I don’t like Tristan’s dad or lady Annabelle in the book and love that Maura likes sneaking around and find out stuff within the castle. And Maura brings up her dad and his death and is still wondering about it and just love that this was a quick spicy shifter romance set in the highlands.

Liked the way this novel is headed... Some dark mysterious man lives up in the north tower all on his own hidden away from the rest of the world. Who is he? or more important what is he? Shame this short novel leaves you on a cliff hanger, i would rather read the whole novel instead of a part of it, which is totally not worth reading unless your like me and often find you have an hour or so to read during the day. Liked the characters as well as the plot so far?! But i do feel that they fell into bed rather to quickly...would rather have that build up and a little romance first.

Mac Flynn has done it again with the Highland Moon series. The first of the series takes place in Scotland during the time of clan clashes and fights with England. It appears at first glance that all of the series of books by this author center around The same family, Campbell. I may be wrong, but I will continue to read first of series books by this author just to quench my own curiosity about the author.

I agree, this was a novella series, which I regret reading because having read this part for free, I now have to purchase the rest...anyways, I digress... Everything was rushed. At least the important elements. But descriptions of places, things, etc had more thought placed on them then the actual characters.
This story seemed written by a high school project/final.

Lots of mystery
This was a good story with a lot of mystery to it. I look forward to reading more of the story and find out what is going on in the castle. There's many pieces of the puzzle missing.

Not the best, but definitely not the worst I've read.
I did like this book because the intense storyline, however there were a couple grammatical errors. I did quite enjoy the twist in the plot at the end, if you need to fill some time in your day, read this story.

Good too short.
