2019: I didn't remember Ishtar being so ridiculously funny before! I somehow missed all of that when I first read this. I am so glad this is one of the few series I kept throughout the years.

The Ci Xeneth arc comes to a climax when Ishtar makes a dangerous decision out of the best of intentions. Illsaide confesses his true feelings to Duzell, breaking the vampire kitty’s heart a little in the process. Darres, with some assistance from Laphiji, tries to get to Ishtar’s side before she can get herself (and everyone else) into too much trouble. Way too late for that. Fortunately, Vord is in Ci Xeneth to deal with the crisis, but he’s beginning to figure out Ishtar and Duzell’s secret. Diaage reveals a secret of his own, using his more sensual arts of persuasion to bind Lord Jened to him. One gets the impression this mysterious vampire sorcerer is much more interested in Illsaide than in Illsaide’s master, regardless of how, ah, intimate he’s willing to get with said master.

Ishtar is continuing to play out her turning point as becoming a more responsible future queen all the while remaining Ishtar. Duzell is developing into something far more human than he’d ever dreamed or wished to. Illsaide reaches a crisis of his own when he learns of his true heritage. We’re left on a cliffhanger, wondering what he’ll do next. I’m still drawn into the developing characters’s conflict, more engrossed in their journey than ever. Oh, and have I mentioned how much I enjoy the homoeroticism and gender bending of all this? :)

For darkening drama, continued character development and humour, all depicted via beautiful artwork, this gets five stars.

Omg, Duzell rupanya

Wajahnya Duzell wkt dia , kenapa pula dia harus menangis dlm wujud kucing??? He's soooo moeee XDDD

Banyak kejutan dan plot twist di vol 6 ini. Makin seru aja ceritanya. :D Illsaide dan Falan, their , I really didn't see it coming...:'(

Penultimate volume in the Ci Xenith arc - Ishtar releases all the creatures her uncle is keeping captive and they go on a rampage, led by the king of the sea who wants revenge over the death of his daughter.

Really love this series because its nothing like any other vampire manga out there and is constantly surprising. Also the characters and art are beautiful. The one down side is an overly complicated plot and waaaaaaaaaaaay too many characters, all with secrets and hidden agendas.

we learn that lord Jened isn't having an affair with Ilisade but may in fact be his father! Which makes the Falan love interest even more taboo.... (Not only is Ilisade a half breed, but might be her half brother too) Jened IS however having an affair with Diaage who is in fact none other than vampire Sharlen and should by rights want to kill him. And there's plenty of gender confusion going on as Duzell continues to have Ishtar's face and a man's body... when he isn't a cat that is! I got so much of a headache trying to think this one through I just gave up and went with the flow. It's over complicated, but tremendous fun and fairly exciting.

Oh I love seeing Duzell's embarrassed side. Like he said in the last volume: "It's strange for a vampire to feel embarrassed" he seems self conscious around anyone that is not Ishtar. Like when Falan wanted all of them to take a nap together. Hah she probably wouldn't have if she realized he was a guy. And the vampire King.
The continued plot twists make for such an interesting storyline, I just LOVE it!'
And we keep bringing back characters instead of dissing them (like Vord) which made me very happy. :)
More forbidden love, which I won't go into so I don't have to hide this review.
Overall; LOVE IT!!

The series as a whole was good in the beginning. Very funny and intriguing. I love romances where the characters have loved each other forever but have never told each other or something like that. lol The series declines in quality, I think towards the end. There are too many characters in too many places and things get a little confusing.
