2019: I feel like we are hitting peak complicated. Still really good, but a lot to keep track of!

Yujinn takes deviousness and determination to make Ishtar happy to an entirely new level with his latest scheme. Ishtar at last confesses her feelings to Darres, resolving some of her resentment toward Sir Keld. It looks as if happiness may actually have a chance of finding Ishtar in spite of her duties as princess and queen. She still has enemies, though, lurking in the shadows, waiting to destroy both the House of Phelios and her. Ishtar is finding the resolve to protect everyone at the expense of herself, a resolve that reminds former Vampire King Duzell entirely too much of his archenemy, Phelios.

Once more, there wasn’t as much intrigue as I liked in this volume (or homoeroticism). Most of the intrigue was Yujinn’s. The villains didn’t do much, although a new one was introduced. Ishtar made some personal resolutions, growing a bit more as a character. Readers got to see the varied leading powers of this world, their reactions to Yujinn’s scheming, followed by Yujinn’s counter actions. I missed Sharlen’s sinister, seductive hand in the overall evil plots. Lord Lassen appears to be taking his place as the main villain. He has a much heavier hand than Sharlen. The storyline and character development kept me turning the pages, plus there was a sweet Valentine’s Day side story. Once more, the artwork was beautiful.

For plot, character development, visual look, and my overall enjoyment, this gets four stars.

Ada valentine day segala, hahaha. Ini mangaka lagi keabisan ide kali ya, haha.

Sampe volume ini, aku mulai ga tau mo mendukung Ishtar dgn siapa... Kalo Ishtar ga jadian dgn siapa pun rasanya oke2 aja.

Vord ---> aku kecewa krn dia akhirnya

Illsaide ---> sejujurnya aku lbh senang kalo dia ama Duzell... :p

Seiliez ---> terlalu cantik buat jadi suaminya Ishtar... Ga tau dia bnran suka Ishtar atau malah uda jadian dgn Laphiji...

Btw, kenapa sih cowok2nya lbh cantik semua ketimbang yg cewenya?? Ishtar sih masi enak dipandang mata, walaupun tdk cantik2 kali. Tapi Falan dan Leene, sama sekali tdk menarik. Leene seperti anak kecil. dan Falan kelewat biasa buat ukuran seorang putri padahal KATANYA Falan ini terkenal dgn kecantikannya.

You know what the worst thing ever is? When you write what seems to be a perfectly worded review, and then whatever piece of technology you're typing it on ends up crashing and deleting that review. -_- #everyreviewi'veeverwritten
So, lets see if I can even vaguely remember what I said about this volume!
I feel like something was different about this volume. It wasn't as openly enjoyable as the other ones it seems. It started out like usual, concluding the last arc and slowly building up to the new one, but once we got to the actual storyline it gave off a completely different feel.
Maybe it's because Ishtar finally confessed her feelings to Darres. Maybe it's because of the insincere claim of throne that is obviously incorrect (yet nearly everyone in the family simply accepts it), or maybe its because of all the random characters that are appearing out of nowhere without explanation.
With the death of our dear aunt Sonia (who was supposed to live like another decade I thought) and the forbidden love between Illsaide and Fallen, there are the extra problems that just keep piling on. Yuujel/Yujinn is creating a huge predicament by attempting to make everyone believe that Darres is the true heir to the Zi Alda, and is therefore able to marry Ishtar. What is still a mystery is WHY he is doing this.
What has been confusing me so much is the whole situation with Sharlen, Diaage, Lassen and Hume. Sharlen was using the name Diaage, right? But then Diaage (the female) was also revealed to have been the Sharlen under the cloak when Duzell had been a Kyawl. So is Sharlen and Diaage the same person...? And then Lassen is their supposed boss, while Hume is another servant but a human one serving a vampire? I'm not sure, the sharing of the name Diaage really REALLY confused me.
Overall it just seemed to lead a different tune from before, mainly with the whole thing with Darres. I'm sorry this review is worded so terribly, but I cannot remember all the parts of the volume I addressed before. *cry cry*

The big plot point in this one is lady Sonia dies, and her dying request (co-concocted with her son Yuujell) is to pretend she had a bastard son (Darres) - this means that he can legitimately marry Princess Ishtar - but the burning question is... does he want to? We know Ishtar adores him, but just how does the Captain of the guard feel? Will Ishtar get her man or will she fall for vampire king Duzzell?

We have all the other love tangles in the background as well - Illisade can't stand seeing his beloved half-sister Fallan with Vord - but will he do anything about it?
Looks like Laphji and his adopted brother Seiliez have finally got together, but how long will that last? And what of bitchy Lady Leene? Will she ever give up on Yuujell and realise her husband Ashley adores her?

Another great episode, but again nothing much happens. We are introduced to yet another villain - these bad guys are popping up all over the place and lurking in the background - I do hope they come to some sort of purpose because it's becoming mighty confusing.

Over all though, love this series - great characters and a plot that keeps you guessing, with lovely artwork.

The series as a whole was good in the beginning. Very funny and intriguing. I love romances where the characters have loved each other forever but have never told each other or something like that. lol The series declines in quality, I think towards the end. There are too many characters in too many places and things get a little confusing.
