The contract is signed. My life is now in Sylvain's hands.
Where will that lead me? I don't know.
But I'm excited. Excited to learn about the man with the dark desires inside his heart. Excited to come to grips with the perversions that have made me susceptible to him.
Yet just as we're about to embark on our journey together... doubts start to rage through me. I see a side of Sylvain that I didn't know existed. It's much darker, angrier, and more intense than I could have imagined.
The thing that terrifies me most? It's not contained, it's barely leashed. I see glimpses of it not just in the Black Tower... but pervading through his whole existence.
And now that I've made my choice? I'm at it's mercy.
I live near beautiful Seattle, Washington. I grew up reading all types of fantasy books before discovering the wonderful world of romances in high school.

In this third serial, the story is once again centered on the relationship between Dani and Alastair. I am completely addicted to the bat-shit crazy relationship between these two. I'm honestly not sure who is sicker, but I enjoyed every, twisted minute!
Dani has consented to be his submissive and has made it out of her first experience in the Black Tower relatively unscathed. Despite the fact that they are in the very early stages of their arrangement, Dani has already taken on a surprisingly submissive demeanor. She rationalizes all of his abusive behaviors or blames herself for inciting his wrath.
In contrast to Dani's ever-increasing passiveness, Alastair has become increasingly violent and aggressive. His moods are all over the place. He is constantly playing mind games with Dani, building her up so that he can tear her down again. He definitely doesn't follow any rules. Honestly, he's extremely abusive and unhinged.
Since I love a dark, twisted story, this series is everything that I'd hoped it would be. Alastair is quite the depraved anti-hero. Dani is shaping up to be the perfect little victim. Meanwhile, I'm loving every sick, sadistic moment!
If you're a fan of dark erotica/romance, then I would recommend giving this series a shot. If the darker side of things isn't appealing, then pass this one by. There are themes of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, manipulation, etc. Personally, I love the darker stories, so this one is right up my alley!
Well I love dark twisted stories but for me this did not live up to mark.
it jumps about so much from each character with massive holes in the plot. Too much repetition and not enough action and the blurb and book are worlds apart.
I have so many issues with this plot and storyline - so underdeveloped and so many missing links........ ....... and when I got to around 78% it was clear this was going to be dragged out to fourth book 4 in January.
Glad it was on Kindle Unlimited cause it was a bit like reading wacky races!
This book wants to make me throw up. This author supports violence and abuse towards women. Sick story and characters. I like dark stories but this is just plain down evil.
This book is utter fuckry!! I cannot believe I'm stuck reading this series. I'm stumped, stymied and confused. Alastair backhands her and slaps her to the ground, but Dani looks at it like it's affection. What the heck is this teaching us??? That this violence is acceptable in certain situations. But it's never acceptable. There is no way that a hard slap to the face brings pleasure and therefore I can only interpret it as abuse. And dumba** Dani is just deluding herself.
Dani says there is light in Alastair and says she's felt it. The only emotions he's shown for her were cruelty, malice, and pretty much every other negative emotion I can think of. One moment of tenderness does not erase everything else he's done. Especially when within an hour of that ONE moment of tenderness, the man slapped you to the damn ground. Where the freak is this girl's self-respect??? And why is she ok with him acting disrespectful to her. I'm no expert on D/S relationships, but for all the trust that Alastair wants from her, he's done nothing to earn that trust. And I would assume that a modicum of respect would have to exist for the relationship to work, right?
The next book is supposed to be from Alastair's side. I'm not sure how a HEA can even be possible. I actually hope there isn't one. At least not between these two characters. There is just no justification for his treatment of her and her acceptance of it.
Scarlett Edwards does a brilliant job in the series The Alistair Affair, she's shown a wide range of diversity when it comes to her writing style,I'm completely enthralled with Sylvain Alistair, from his exceptional body to his controlled brutality of Dani .I hope that as the series progresses that Alistair and Dani finds out that they are truly and completely made for each other . I can honestly see and understand why Dani has given her mind and body over to Alistair,he is compelling and captivating, with the power he exudes through pain which causes emence pleasure for both parties involved, you can't help but to understand why Alistair Affair is so addictive. Excellently written ,without question it's brilliant.
Oh my god . If you want to read a dark sexual novel with two dark lover with mentally malfunctioning disorders this would be the novels. The storyline that Scarlett Edwards bring across to her page pulls you in with dark overture of a collector (Alastair) of young woman who seem to be lacking in self-esteem . Alastair the sociopath whom tends to be a little wrap up in his childhood abusive father. However, a romantic as I am I keep reading thinking the outcome of the storyline will change and this is what draws me to continue with a billionaires dark romance.
When I said this book wasn't really dark yet, wow what an understatement. It's there, and it kind of makes me cringe. The cruelty is frightening and makes you doubt Alistair"s sanity, as well as my own, For keeping reading this. Scarlett is that good!
I'm still trying to figure him out? Everytime I think I know what's going on, it switches up. Split personality? This was fantastic and I'm dying to find out what happens next
