The messages in this book are strong and simple. When we embody the 10 core habits of Yogis, based on the wisdom of Ayurveda, we thrive. By becoming vibrant, dynamic human beings on a growth path, we are a boon to ourselves, our families, society, and the planet.
Ayurveda is based on living in sync. When we synchronize our bodily rhythms to nature’s clock, our physiology harmonizes. We experience balance, ease, and flow. When we live against nature’s body clock, we experience stress, rapid aging, and dis-ease.
This book grew out of my online Body Thrive coaching program, where my Body Thrive Coaches and Yoga Health Coaches guide their pilot groups into 10 specific, habits from the teachings of Ayurveda in 10 weeks. In doing so, our bodies, minds, emotions, and even our kitchens, homes, relationships, and lives uplevel into thrive. We experience the best time of our lives from living in cooperation with our bodies and our ecosystem.

This is a wonderful book full of amazing, ACTIONABLE advice on how to form healthy habits based in ayurveda. The 10 Habits are wonderful but beyond that the format of the book is really easy and comfortable and Cate's voice is firm but friendly. I just like everything about it. It's a very Doable program. Before I'd even finished the book, I'd already recommended it to 2 friends who saw it on my table, thumbed through it, and immediately bought the Kindle version.
This is the best self help book I have every read ! I recommend this book very highly as it is truly one that will improve and change your life for the better. Thank you for the ARC for review. My opinion is my own.
Here the author has begun her book with a simple question to her readers- "How are you designing your body?" This will give you pause as reading this we realize it really is up to us how we design our body around the habits we have incorporated into our lives. Many of our daily habits work against our bodies and that is what the author will change here . The author then asks "Do you want to survive or thrive?" Considering so many of us are in pure survival mode in these hard times it is a question to ponder and opens up the possibilities that we are our own downfall in regard to our health. By these simple questions the author opens up her program to readers that will change our lives.
The author then does open our minds to having healthier habits as we age by beginning right away. Now the author gives us 10 habits that we can change going through each 4 times a year taking one week to form each new healthy habit. I found this so amazing and simple to incorporate into my own life. The healthy ways the author recommends are easily done so any reader can choose to improve their life . Al.l the changes she suggest do improve your life substantially. They are so simple like eating dinner earlier, exercise, simple yet potent health improvements we all should be doing.
The author gives examples from her personal Ayurveda practice and how her clients felt. She encourages us to use Ayurveda practice and yoga as part of our new health routine . I have to say that since following her program I was able to move further out of a deep depression organically and feel better, look healthier and appreciate my body more .
Read this book! It will change your life!! It is not to be missed. i will be giving hard copies away for gifts and buying a hard copy for myself . .This is a book to refer to daily and use going forth as part of your health routine. I highly recommend it ! Truly this is a most inspiring book that we should all incorporate into our daily lives. Don't forget! Come back to your R
I read this as a galley ... Stillman does a great job making the ten habits from ayurveda & yoga doable. She encourages readers to add one each week (go to bed early, get up early, meditate, add plant foods, etc.) I can see how they would build on each other and bring results.
When I first opened this book, I thought it would be hard for me to read - "woo-woo"y, silly, pseudosciency. In the end, I really enjoyed it. It could have been more concise (hence not 5 star) but the messages were simple and actionable. I loved it.
anyone looking for a natural approach healthy living should read & re-read this book. Cate Stillman approaches 10 daily habits that can change your life in a light, easy to understand way. Beware. Don't feel pressured into doing all 10 habits during the 1st read. She even stresses the outlook of taking baby steps into changing habits that have taken a lifetime to form. I'm planning of picking this up again. And again.
Best self-care book I've ever read. The author provides clear and simple habits that transform a tired body into a vibrant one. She also provides a roadmap for actually making the changes using an integrated system of behavioral science/habit change research. I recommend this book to anyone looking to use simple methods to live a life of health and integrity.
Pretty sure I won't adopt all of her advice, but there were some good points. I think I will work on having a more constant sleep schedule. And an earlier dinner. We'll see.
This book is marvelous, written by a creative genius. It pulls you in and lets you realize how a change of certain habits makes you see, feel and enjoy life to its fullest. Just starting with one suggested habit, is having an immense impact on you and your family. It`s written with a deep knowledge and feeling for the ancient wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda, but still written in modern terms and language so that everybody young, old, female, male... can profit from it. And the best thing, once you read it, you will never put it to the side.....you will read and use it over and over again.
