When it comes to love, Becky Jansen’s had some spectacular disasters, but all those Mr Wrongs haven’t put her off. One day she’ll find Mr Right. She just needs to be more . . . selective.
For example, she’d never get involved with Mickey Madden. He’s cute, and funny, and knows how to warm a girl’s . . . ahem. But he’s a workmate, and all their flirty sex-talk is just talk.
So when that talk whoopsies into something rather more active, Becky’s left confused. Is this as real as it feels, or is Mickey just another disaster in disguise?
Warning: contains one sexy Santa suit, one cheeky Rudolph, and plenty of heat in the middle.
Hi there. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand (aka QuakeZone) with my partner, two children, and a snooty cat who thinks we're all her slaves. My days are spent running around after kids or doing one of my 'real' jobs, so my writing generally happens in the dead of night. (Morning? Ha! I'm a third-generation night owl. Enough said.)
I love chocolate, hate being cold, and am ever fascinated by the possibility of time travel. Obviously, my ideal experience would be to wake up on a tropical island eighty years into the future, with an endless supply of chocolate on hand.
There's nothing I love more than a good chat (except perhaps a good chat and chocolate--see the theme here?). So don't be shy--get in touch!
Looking for a flirty, sexy quickie? The Fling Thing by Maggie Le Page is so much fun! It's a prequel but you don't need to know the characters because Le Page does an excellent job with this one. Well written, moves quickly and the comedic humor is priceless. I almost fell of my chair from laughing so hard. A must read anytime of the year!
I received a review copy I was just recently introduced to Maggie Le Page’s writing, and when asked to review The Fling Thing, I happily said yes. And it was a wise decision! I read this right after Christmas when I was still determined to hang on to the holiday spirit, and thought it was super cute that it was labeled a Christmas Quickie. I think that helped clue readers in that you should be an older reader for this particular novella, as it does feature several steamy scenes. What I liked most was that even though it was a short read, I still thought the plot was very strong and didn’t leave me feeling hanging at any point. And the ending – ha! Not how I was expecting the resolution, but loved it all the same. Such a quick and cute read!
I am so pleased to of discovered Maggie Le Page, not only does she write great books but she is also a lovely person. I wasnt sure weather i should of read this over Christmas rather than New year but it really didnt matter. I got so involved with the Charactors, i forgot what time of year it was. The Fling Thing follows Becky to her work's Christmas party dressed as Mrs Claus, not only does she have the hots for fellow office worker Mickey, she thinks all her dreams have come true when he makes that move. Without giving away too much there is a twist in the story and it left me rooting for Becky for revenge. I am now going to get myself glued to the next book - A Heat of The Moment Thing, cant wait.
I first met Becky in A Heat of The Moment Thing, and she became one of my book besties. I loved hanging out with her again in this short and steamy prequel. I really connected with Becky. We both get sucked in by the charming flirt, fall for them hard and fast and always see the best in everyone.
This is the perfect read for Christmas afternoon, when you want to escape from all those noisy toys that Santa gave the kids and hide away with a glass of wine by yourself. Or anytime really.
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
Crushing on a co-worker is nothing new, but Maggie LePage's 'The Fling Thing' manages to create something fresh and fun. Becca and Mickey have been flirting and sex-talking for weeks, so it's no surprise that the company Christmas party creates an opportunity for them to takes things a step further. Okay, maybe two steps. What happens next is pure chick-lit pleasure!
I really enjoyed this quick romance. I read it all in one sitting! This book is a lot of fun, you get the feeling that Becky could be your best friend who you are exasperated with their energy but secretly love that they never give up on love. Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Maggie Le Page.
Such a fun read! I love the raw emotions that Maggie Lepage creates in her books. Becky is a relatable character and I hope to read more books with her in it! The Fling Thing and The Heat of the Moment Thing are two must reads that'll keep you wanting more.
