Sheryl Lister presents a second-chance holiday romance as her seasonal gift to you—her readers!
Will former lovers be reunited just in time for Christmas…
Melissa Tucker broke off her no-strings attached liaison with Kyle Jamison the minute she realized that she didn’t just like him—she’d gone and fallen in love with him. Now, months later, the former police detective is the only one she can turn to when the threatening notes she’s been receiving start to escalate. Only she didn't count on still wanting him...
Kyle shared a sensual affair with Melissa and was completely blindsided when she broke things off. Granted he'd made his position against long-term relationships very clear at the start, but she's the one woman he hasn't been able to forget and now that he has the chance, he intends to prove to her that he is indeed a one-woman man.
Sheryl Lister has enjoyed reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She writes contemporary and inspirational romance and romantic suspense. She been nominated for an Emma Award and RT Reviewer’s Choice Award and named BRAB’s 2015 Best New Author. When she’s not reading, writing or playing chauffeur, Sheryl can be found on a date with her husband or in the kitchen creating appetizers and bite-sized desserts.
Ten months ago, Melissa Tucker broke off her no-strings attached affair with Kyle Jamison and ran when she realized that she had fallen in love with him. Kyle made it known that he wasn’t looking for a long term relationship but felt blindsided when their affair was called off.
As fate would have it, Melissa and Kyle are thrown back together when Melissa starts receiving threathening letters at work. When she reaches out to Kyle for help, he drops everything to help her. Kyle wants to use this opportunity to prove that he is a one woman man.
From the beginning, I became engrossed within the pages and was reminded of Sheryl’s ability to tell a great story. I could feel the chemistry radiating off the pages between Melissa and Kyle, along with the suspense surrounding her stalker. If you want action, drama and jaw-dropping moment’s with a Christmas theme, this story is for you.
Great job Sheryl!!! I love this series and great group of friends. I'm interested in seeing who is up next. This is a definite must have for the holidays.
I enjoyed this book, Sheryl did a a great job mixing, love, mystery and abuse. I am not fond of abuse in any shape, form or fashion. There should never be any physical or mental abuse and the children should most definitely not be involved.
I am really glad that Kyle and Lissa Raye (Melissa) got together, it was there own fears that kept them apart. Goes to show you, you really need to get all of the facts before jumping to conclusion. Kyle and Lissa Raye spend 10 long months apart of which they could have been together. Being apart those 10 months allowed them both to come to grips with their fears and insecurities.
Kyle is a man after my own heart he drop everything when Melissa called him and said she needed his help.
It was really great that Karen got her boots and Melissa got not only her man but a winter wonderland wedding.
It was nice even though they were at the very end to read about them again, Janae, Terrance, Simona, Donovan, Yasmine.
Sheryl, you gotta give us a book on Troy, he needs a lady love also.
Sometimes love isn't the easiest emotion to embrace. Both Melissa and Kyle need to face their fears and anxieties regarding their relationship before they can find their bliss. However before either of them can get there, Melissa encounters a real threat and Kyle must come to her rescue to protect from an unknown assailant. This story has both mystery and intrigue all wrapped up in a happily ever after. I was looking for to reading Kyle and Melissa's story and it did not disappoint. Kudos to the author once again for an amazing read.
Kyle - the forever Bachelor and Melissa - never wanting to take a chance on love again, are brought back together by circumstances. Will they make the most of it!
Loved it! Kyle and Melissa thought they could have a "hook-up only" kind of relationship. They were mistaken. Melissa fell in love and then ran before Kyle could break her heart. Now it's Christmas time and someone is stalking Melissa and Kyle may be the only one that can save her!
Melissa is a caring woman who worked in the school system and volunteered at a shelter for batterd families. Recently she had gotten two notes on her car that was threatening. Her friends said she needed a bodyguard after a disgruntled husband hit her in the face. She reached out to a friend and former lover, Kyle. When Kyle got the message from Melissa, he dropped everything to see what she needed. They had ended their friendship because Melissa wanted more and she knew Kyle didn't. Great read that has mystery and romance.
Second Chances are awesome because the time you are apart from that special person, you have a chance to reflect on what you want and what you want with that person. When you two reunite it could be a great reunion or it could be something you both don't want. In my opinion most of the time the relationship is wanted especially when the chemistry is so magnetic. LOVE is such a beautiful word. Love the story. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
I enjoyed reading Kyle and Melissa's story about love and second chance. This was really a great read and would absolutely recommend this book to anyone and everyone who enjoys reading a good romance story with a bit of suspense and lots of fun. I just love read Ms. Lister books and this is one I will definitely be reading again. Great job Ms. Lister and please keep these wonderful stories coming and thank you. 👍🙏❤
I REALLy love the chemistry between both of them but I still think it was kind of rushed at the end. Loved it nonetheless. I would recommend this series to anyone that wants a quick read and I think it could be read as a standalone because I was fine with following all the characters without trouble.
This book was overall pretty good. It started off strong and drew me in right away, but the pacing slowed down in the middle and then wrapped up very quickly at the end. I felt like the last chapter was a bit rushed, and I didn’t have much time to process what happened. Hopefully, the second book will go into more detail and explain things better.
I loved this book! I love second chance romance and that’s what this was! Kyle didn’t hesitate to come to Melissa’s aid! I love how this story flowed and especially how it ended! 🥰
I just loved It’s You That I Need by Sheryl Lister. I enjoyed the storyline. I also enjoyed the chemistry between Kyle and Melissa. This was definitely a hot and steamy book.
This was my first read by this author and it was perfectly fine. The premise is that school counselor, Melissa, broke it off with security specialist, Kyle, months ago, when she started catching feelings in the “no strings attached” liaison. Now months later she has not one, but two stalkers, who seem to be escalating. And who does she call but security specialist, Kyle, who has been feeling like she’s the one that got away. In the middle of her troubles, sparks fly- but will it be a distraction and leave Melissa vulnerable to her stalker as a result.
I think this was a cute story overall. It’s a pleasant read that I would categorize as sappy romantic suspense. This is scaredy-cat approved as the suspenseful parts were not particularly suspenseful. And more importantly the whodunnit was a complete surprise to me. I wish that suspenseful aspect of the plot had been developed to me because it would have made this a bit more compelling. As it is, it often felt like this ominous stalker hanging over Melissa’s head was secondary to their love story. And then the conflict in their love story didn’t feel significant enough to carry a whole book. I also didn’t understand Kyle’s rush in the end.
Overall, I enjoyed this and though it wasn’t the most compelling or exciting all through because the conflicts weren’t always the strongest, it was gentle and calming to read. This is sweet and sappy romantic suspense and if that’s something you might be interested in, definitely check this out.

You always find a way to return to the one who has your heart. With Melissa being in danger it gave Kyle the opportunity to be with her in a way they haven't been in the past. With great friends like Karen and Damian it was just what was needed to get the couple back on course.
This was a great book to maybe end this series. There's always room for more......and Troy needs love too. I think I figured it out early on, but it's great that my thoughts were right. Great job Ms. Lister.
I love a good who done it coupled with a good love story it makes excellent reading, especially when the main characters were introduced in an earlier reading. All I can say is way to go K
This is an excellent story of lovers to friends to back lovers again. If you want a little action, drama and lots of love mixed with your Christmas story, read this book.
