I enjoyed this contemporary western romance - especially liked the characters. The story flows well as the plot builds. The one thing that didn't work for me was the villain...as in it was way too obvious from the start who the bad guy was - just never any doubt in my opinion. And being sure of that was a let down for me as it killed the suspense and tension that should have been building up to the big reveal near the end. No surprise there to this reader. Contemporary Western Romance fans may enjoy this one for the romance that develops between these two main characters.

I have never read anything by this author before, but I will be looking for her other books now. Wow this story was so good. Grabbed me from page one. I fell in love with the Conway family. Loved Big Jim and Cole ( grandfather and father). Then the three brothers Quinn, Josh and Jake. There was so much love and laughter in that family that you couldn't help but smile and laugh with them. I was sad that the mystery of their missing mother was never figured out. But maybe it shouldn't be. Sometimes that is life. Sad as that is.
Cheyenne and Quinn were so good together. I mean they had something right away even though they didn't act on it. There was just that immediate connection. Then poor Cheyenne had all these terrible things happen to her and Quinn was there to help her through it. I guessed who the bad guy was right away. I mean it was pretty obvious. The reason why I was almost completely right too. So not to much mystery on that. This was a feel good book even with the bad stuff that just kept happening. I cant wait to read the next book "Josh".

A contemporary western suspense, this novel has several characteristics to capture your interest, including cowboys, a despicable villain and a love story anxious for the calm after the storm. Fun beginning to a new series! I love it when a novel starts out with a poignant moment during the childhood of the main characters. The prologue for QUINN introduces us to three young boys who live with their father and grandfather on a ranch in Wyoming, just after experiencing loss in two different ways. You can feel the emotion and strength of the characters, which makes you hope for their happy-ever-after in the future. Great beginning!
Quinn Conway’s childhood experiences influence his career choice as a naturalist, specializing in wolf pack behavior. He also helps out at his family’s cattle ranch while on breaks in-between following the pack. Quinn’s research concentrated on five years of following a wolf he tagged while in college, which has earned him respect as a top authority and has become his life’s passion. Unfortunately, this same wolf, now a pack leader, is shot by a rancher just after the wolf’s mate gives birth to cubs. Years of research end with one rancher’s careless act and Quinn is determined to make that rancher understand the repercussions of environmental irresponsibility towards these beautiful creatures.
Quinn isn’t prepared when he realizes that his nemesis is a female rancher. Even so, he’s determined to let her know how wrong she was to shoot a wolf that was tracking deer to feed its family. Cheyenne O’Brien is no pushover and is fully prepared to prove to Quinn that his wolf was after her new-born calves. In a battle of wills, the two go head-to-head until they decide to ride out to the location and find out exactly who’s right and who’s wrong.
Will it really matter to either of them once they realize this argumentative heat is just a prelude to their irresistible passion and emotional need for one another?
Cheyenne and Quinn both have sorrow in their past, which immediately connects them with heartache. Danger is about to find them, so there’s much more than sexual attraction to keep them together or tear them apart. The question is…can they get past every obstacle and create a life as two very independent people living together as a loving couple?
It was easy for me to become enthused about the setting since I love Wyoming. It’s what attracted me to this book in the first place, besides the scrumptious cover. Quinn’s research reminded me of my favorite novels by Jack London, due to author R. C. Ryan’s description of the wolves’ life-cycle and hardships, which also sets the tone for this couple’s tense first meeting. There’s nothing more romantic to me than a rugged cowboy whose strength is matched with a woman who can hold her own. There’s no doubt that Cheyenne is used to running things her way since the death of her brother and father. But how much can one person withstand without some strength to lean on?
QUINN kicks off the WYOMING SKY series by R. C. Ryan, also known as Ruth Ryan Langan. The novel is layered with family time, sitting around the table together or evenings in front of a roaring fire, discussing ranching. When mixed amongst observing the camaraderie of doing every day chores, you have ample time to get to know all the family and friends while they interact in this tranquil, but hardworking, lifestyle. With the Grand Tetons in the background, it’s easy to become wrapped up in what seems like a rich life. It’s also a life created by living in sparsely populated areas where depending on each other can sometimes be the difference between life and death. That’s why when a series of accidents become more than a coincidence it gets everyone involved in setting a wrong to right.
I think my favorite part of this book is that it did have sections that captured my interest for different reasons. It’s a good contemporary western; complete with small town values and gossips, but the added suspense element made the last half of the book action-filled. Even though the suspense was sometimes predictable, there were still aspects of it that kept me engaged. I look at it as two halves of a whole because in the first part of the book I was enthralled by the people, but during the second half I was absorbed by the action. Add in the allure of Quinn’s two brothers, each with their own brand of sex appeal, and it’s inevitable that you’ll anticipate the next two books of this promising new western series.
For a contemporary western that includes the added adventure of suspense, QUINN by R. C. Ryan is a great way to dive into the sensation of the Wyoming wilderness. This novel’s picturesque setting and bold characters will make you yearn for a rancher of your own.

This is a new series by author R.C. Ryan, otherwise known as Ruth Ryan Langan. A western set in the state of Wyoming. The book opens with a prequel to intro you to the characters in the series when Mrs. Conway disappears and the boys are left without their mother and Quinn who grows up to be a wolf whisperer has his first encounter with a den of wolves. There are three Conway brothers. Quinn the oldest then Josh the expert mountain climber who rescues people and Jake the baby and newly minted veterinarian. Because of his love for wolves Quinn is a wild animal expert. Tracking a den of wolves is what leads him to Cheyenne O'Brien. Cheyenne has her own ranch she's been running on her own since the deaths of her parents and brother. Quinn ends up staying at Cheyenne's ranch when she kills one of his wolves and he thinks it's on purpose but in fact it was going after one her cattle. Since it's blizzarding out he ends up staying and from there a relationship blooms. Unfortunately there are several incidents at Cheyenne's ranch and the jury's out who is in danger Cheyenne or Quinn. I thought it was pretty easy to figure out who the bad buy was in this story. I knew as soon as the character was introduced and i hate that. I like to be surprised right to the end but that rarely every happens, but this was pretty obvious. The other thing that bothered me is the main characters never tell each other i love you. I was sure it was coming several times but never happened. I do like this western series with brothers or cousins though so i will definitely continue to read this series as i have a few things i am hoping to see cleared up by the end of book three. This was a good book but not as good as I have read from R.C. Ryan so i am hoping the next two are a little better. 3 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Quinn by R.C. Ryan.

Quinn by R.C. Ryan is the first book in her contemporary western romance trilogy.
In addition to being a rancher, Quinn Conway is also a wildlife expert who studies wolves. One night while he’s out tracking a pack of wolves, he runs into Cheyenne O’Brien and takes refuge at her ranch during a snowstorm. The two are attracted to and get to know each other. However, a series of accidents have been plaguing Cheyenne and her ranch lately, including a fire that destroys part of her home. Quinn insists that Cheyenne come stay on his family’s ranch while her own home is being repaired, and the couple grows closer together. But that doesn’t stop bad things from happening around Cheyenne — things that don’t seem like accidents anymore …
I really enjoy westerns, and this book has everything I’ve come to expect from the genre — a rugged rancher, a big, extended family, and lots of lovely descriptions of ranch life and western scenery.
Quinn and Cheyenne are both likable characters, and their romance develops at a nice pace. The secondary characters are entertaining as well, and I liked that Quinn and his two brothers all had different interests outside of ranching.
However, my main problem with this book was the suspense element surrounding all the accidents. I knew who was threatening Cheyenne fairly early on in the story, so the revelation of the villain’s identity near the end didn’t surprise me. Also, I found the villain’s motives to be a little unbelievable.
Overall, this one didn’t work for me on every level, but if you enjoy westerns, you may want to check it out.

QUINN is a captivating start to R.C. Ryan’s new Wyoming Sky series. A sweet romance, an intriguing mystery, and a breathtaking setting made this book an enjoyable read. Ranchers Quinn Conway and Cheyenne O’Brien are brought together by an unfortunate incident, resulting in an angry altercation between them. It’s not long before they realize that they’re very much on the same side with a lot in common.
When Cheyenne becomes the victim of a string of troubling events, Quinn steps in to help. Someone out there is very unhappy about their blossoming relationship, and the results are devastating. Quinn and Cheyenne have to find and stop their enemy before the situation turns deadly. While the villain wasn’t a shock, there was a surprising twist about this person at the end. Quinn and Cheyenne’s love story builds slowly and felt genuine, like they were two kindred souls finding each other.
This book set a solid foundation for the series. We get a strong understanding of the Conway family and how important they are to each other. QUINN is also the beginning of the series’ story arc, that of Quinn’s mother who went missing in 1996. That story will be continued in the next book about Quinn’s brother, Josh. The Wyoming Sky series is a must get for fans of cowboy romances.

My Review:
I'm just going to do a quickie review on this one. This book just didn't quite do it for me. The book is written well...definitely no issues there. I just had a hard time connecting with the characters. Also, I knew right away who the bad guy was going to be so I couldn't even hang onto that to keep me engaged in the story. I have an ARC for the next book in the series, so I am not giving up on the series yet, but this may just be a case that this isn't an author I enjoy. We'll see. I do enjoy the three brothers and all the characters from the Conway ranch, so I still have high hopes for Josh, the next book in the series.

the characters and story are very simple. the main characters love their families, love their work, love to eat big meals and laugh together. I would imagine there's a lot more grit and a lot less feel-good moments in a rancher's actual daily life, but that's really not what this book is trying to capture. Cheyenne (rancher) meets Quinn (son of a rancher, researcher tracking wolves) and they develop feelings for one another. everyone supports them, except for one villain (who is not at all hard to spot). I never really felt a connection to the characters.
I drove through Wyoming recently and I feel like I want to give this book a good rating because I liked Wyoming so much...

While I will read the next book in the series when it comes out, there were a few things that irritated me about this book, ie the villain being too easy to figure out early on, and certain words being used excessively. That being said, I do like these characters and look forward to what happens next with them.

This for me was just barely ok. To me it was way to predictable. I thought the brothers "shared a laugh" way too often made them appear soft and sappy instead of strapping ranchers. I believe for others who enjoy a light read with very happy characters this may be ok... I guess just to fluffy for my taste.

So I’m trying out yet another Cowboy Western Romance.

Cole his son and husband of a ranch wife who disappeared without a trace.
Quinn, the eldest, a rancher and wolf biologist
Josh, the middle son, rancher and high mountain rescue ranger
Jake, youngest, about to graduate Vet School.
Cheyenne O’Brien, Rancher and her major domo Micah Horn
50 miles east
Hawks are diurnal, soar on thermals and hunt by sight; all of which makes a hawk flying at night highly unlikely.
The pair spend a few chapters holed up in Quinn’s cabin in the woods engaging in athletic pursuits.
The familial camaraderie among the five men at the palatial Conway Ranch Manor is heart-warming, the meals make the reader wish to drop by. The family ranch obviously does well though it is oil, coal, and other minerals that back-stops the operation.
Aside from the long missing wife this story involves a pyromaniac on the loose terrorizing the principals here.
First in a series, there are the two younger brothers to marry off.

When Quinn was 10 his mother disappeared and he saw a rancher brutally kill a mother wolf and her pups. These events drew him to the study of wolves. Though his father, grandfather and brothers own and run a hugely successful cattle ranch, Quinn finds time to track, study and publish of wolf behavior. While tracking his pack he sees the alpha killed by a rancher and pursues in fury. But he finds the rancher to be a young women defending a stranded herd of cows and calves, instead of the deer herd he thought the wolf was pursuing. Cheyenne O'Brien has lost her brother and father in the past 2 years and is struggling to run her ranch, despite seeming random accidents. Decently written western romance, although the villain here was easy to pick out. A bit predictable.

I really enjoyed this story and the book keeps your attention and you don't really want to put it down. Quinn Conway is the oldest of three brothers who live with their father and grandfather on their range in Wyoming. Though an incident in his youth, he has always been partial to the wild wolves that can be a danger to the ranchers and their animals. When Cheyenne O'Brien kills the alpha male that Quinn has been following, he immediately confronts her but soon realizes that she had reason to protect her cattle. Quinn learns that Cheyenne has had a hard life that was filled with "Accidents" and now he wants to protect her. This is a good read and exciting story.

Quinn, Wyoming Sky Series by R.C. Ryan
What first attracted me to this book was reading the ARC of Josh. The scenery and nature called out to me that I had to go buy this book and have the author on email so i can keep track of the next book in the series.
This book in the series is about Quinn, the oldest boy of Cole conway. It starts out with when he was younger and his mother had just disappeared.
They have a ranch with cattle, mining and oil rights to companies that brings in a lot of money, along with the largest herd of cattle in the state. When younger he heard the gunshot that killed the mother wolf and her pups that he and his brothers had just played with.
Quinn is the one who enjoys the wolves who are nearby in the hills and likes to track them with a device he had put on the male lead, not to kill them.
Quinn is the one who found his father in the stall with his horse. Jake was away at college studying to be a vet. Josh was up in the mountains tracking down a lost hiker. They were all summoned to go to the hospital for their father's health had failed.
Love the connection he has with the wolves in comparison to his mother-it helps to fill the void. He tracks the male wolf but a rancher has shot him dead. 5 years of research is over and done with now as he hopes to confront the rancher.
He confronted cheyenne O'Brien in her barn and they rode out to where the wolf lay. He showed her the deer and she showed him her herd, one just gave birth and they together brought it back to the barn to warmth. He apologized to her and she thanked him for the help with the new calf.
He spends the night at her ranch along with her cook/housekeeper and their paths cross going to the bathroom and sitting down to eat. They get to know one another more.
With her sudden medical problem he decided to stay to help take care of her ranch while she recovered. They get to spend a lot of time talking about her family and her Indian heritage.
Because of the fire and others being in the area she will go live at Quinn's house til the repairs are done to her house.
Mystery is building as time goes on and other fires are set, others are injured and animals are now being killed. Things that were there that night are not there now with the investigators show up. Other heated arguments with others put you on edge.
With sensual romance and the mystery and the nature and learning about not only the wolves but the trona, the caring family life this is one heck of a book, glad I bought it after reading the 2nd in the series. Can't wait for the 3rd one now.

This book in the series is about Quinn, the oldest boy of Cole conway. It starts out with when he was younger and his mother had just disappeared.
They have a ranch with cattle, mining and oil rights to companies that brings in a lot of money, along with the largest herd of cattle in the state. When younger he heard the gunshot that killed the mother wolf and her pups that he and his brothers had just played with.
Quinn is the one who enjoys the wolves who are nearby in the hills and likes to track them with a device he had put on the male lead, not to kill them.
Quinn is the one who found his father in the stall with his horse. Jake was away at college studying to be a vet. Josh was up in the mountains tracking down a lost hiker. They were all summoned to go to the hospital for their father's health had failed.
Love the connection he has with the wolves in comparison to his mother-it helps to fill the void. He tracks the male wolf but a rancher has shot him dead. 5 years of research is over and done with now as he hopes to confront the rancher.
He confronted cheyenne O'Brien in her barn and they rode out to where the wolf lay. He showed her the deer and she showed him her herd, one just gave birth and they together brought it back to the barn to warmth. He apologized to her and she thanked him for the help with the new calf.
He spends the night at her ranch along with her cook/housekeeper and their paths cross going to the bathroom and sitting down to eat. They get to know one another more.
With her sudden medical problem he decided to stay to help take care of her ranch while she recovered. They get to spend a lot of time talking about her family and her Indian heritage.
Because of the fire and others being in the area she will go live at Quinn's house til the repairs are done to her house.
Mystery is building as time goes on and other fires are set, others are injured and animals are now being killed. Things that were there that night are not there now with the investigators show up. Other heated arguments with others put you on edge.
With sensual romance and the mystery and the nature and learning about not only the wolves but the trona, the caring family life this is one heck of a book, glad I bought it after reading the 2nd in the series. Can't wait for the 3rd one now.

I enjoyed this one and look forward to reading about the other two brothers. Quinn’s story was good but I knew who the bad guy was pretty quickly ha ha

Good book. Suspenseful . Depicted the joy of good food and family. There was a real insight into Quinn's desire to study the wolves. Definitely would recommend.

This contemporary Western romance embraces the experiences of a man who is deeply in love with his home, his ranching lifestyle, and the forces of nature that impact it. He has become a nationally known expert on the life and activity of the American Wolf and all this grows out of an early life encounter with a mother wolf and her pups, a family that was summarily killed by a neighboring rancher, just on principle alone. The deep grief he felt--probably hooked up with the ever-present grief and questioning growing out of his mother's unexplained and unsolved disappearance--set Quinn on a different life path, one that now takes him into the personal space of Cheyenne O'Brien, a woman now alone and trying as she best can to keep her ranch--her inheritance--up and running and profitable. Getting involved with Cheyenne on any level has now dragged Quinn into a deeper and more mysterious situation, one that threatens not only her lifestyle and ranch, but ultimately her life.
It is an entertaining and engaging and well-written novel that was a delight to read. The descriptive language was sufficient to keep the panorama of the West as a backdrop but it didn't take over the novel. Quinn and Cheyenne were written as strong and independent, yet both had experienced the close intimacy of family and both were grieving personal losses, some very recent. It is a romance that is spiced up and made even more compelling by the addition of a mystery, one that begins to draw Quinn more deeply into Cheyenne's personal life and the well-being of her ranch. Their relationship begins with a friendship that is built on mutual concern and caring and then on to a romance. In the midst of all of this is an individual who seems to always be present and whose presence is not always welcomed by others in Cheyenne's life. Underlying the story is the continuing question about Quinn's mother. I had to wonder if somewhere down the line the author was planning to resolve that question. I sure hope so.
I really enjoyed this book. I like cowboy romance anyway, and am coming to enjoy contemporary stories as much as I have enjoyed American historicals in the past. I've not read much from this author but I was impressed with the quality of the writing, the correct use of English pertaining to tenses and such (I'll probably have a rant about that one of these days), and a sense that the author's development of the story evidenced an overview that never let the story get out of hand. It was well balanced and the supporting characters created their own interest. The repartee within the family gave depth and deeper meaning in helping the reader understand Quinn. The values that supported his life work, his attitudes and his understanding of human relationships obviously grew out of the support he received throughout his life from strong people in his family circle--his dad and granddad as well as the two older women who impacted his emotional and psychological development. One of those women, Ela, an Arapaho woman who had been present in Quinn's life as long as he can remember, was a connection for him with Cheyenne whose mother was also an Arapaho and known to Ela.
This is a story that will be a delight to those who enjoy a contemporary Western romance and who especially like a story that is well-written and edited. This is one that shouldn't be missed.

This was an awesome cowboy romance with wonderful characters and a wonderful slow going love story!! it reminded me of books by Nora Roberts and I just enjoyed reading this story. i can't wait for the second book in this awesome series and to read more about the Conway family!!

Ich mag Cowboy Geschichten. Die Geschichte um die große Conway Ranch, die Großfamilie, die ihr Leben liebt, die Tiere, die Wildniss....hach, perfekt.
Quinn Conway ist natürlich ein toller Kerl, ein toller Charakter, der nicht nur als gut aussehend beschrieben wird, sondern der auch was im Kopf hat und Tiefe besitzt. Cheyenne O'Brien ist eine starke Frau, geboren um eine Ranch zu führen, mit einer großen Liebe zum freien Leben. Die beiden Charaktere hatten mich sofort! Ich mochte sie, ich mochte die Chemie zwischen ihnen und am meisten mochte ich, dass es keine Hopplahop-Liebesgeschichte war, in der die Hauptfiguren gleich mal in der Kiste landen. Die Autorin hat sich Zeit genommen, um Quinn und Chey ihre Gefühle entdecken zu lassen. Ich liebe solche Geschichten. Außerdem beweist die Autorin damit, dass nicht immer eine Sexszene der anderen folgen muss, um einen guten Liebesroman zu machen.
Von der Erzählart, der Geschichte und den Figuren her, musste ich ganz oft an Liebesromane von Nora Roberts denken. :) Es fällt genau in den Stil, die Geschichte bringt durch die seltsamen Vorfälle Spannung mit und als Leser rätselt man mit, wer denn nun der böse Bube ist.
Neben Quinn und Chey ist das Buch aber auch voll von tollen Nebenfiguren: Big Jim, Cole, Phoebe, Ela, Micah, Josh, Jake....sie sind alle so toll! Ich mochte vor allem Jake sehr gerne und freue mich, dass der Jüngste der drei Conway Brüder, natürlich genau wie Josh, sein eigenes Buch bekommen wird.
Ich konnte richtig in diese Geschichte eintauchen, wollte das Buch gar nicht aus der Hand legen, konnte mitfühlen, mitleiden, aufseufzen, lachen...es hat bei mir eine vollkommene Wohlfühlstimmung erzeugt und genau das ist es, was ich bei einem guten Liebesroman auch erwarte.
Ich gebe 5 Sterne für eine absolute tolle, kurzweilige Unterhaltung und freue mich jetzt schon mal auf Band 2, "Josh", der im Herbst erscheinen wird!!

Quinn is the first book in the Wyoming Sky series by R.C. Ryan. I rated this book a 3, but that's only because Goodreads doesn't give a half option. This book is definitely a strong 3.5 Stars.
Quinn Conway is the oldest son of wealthy rancher Cole Conway. As young children the family suffered a terrible loss when their mother, who was loved very much by her husband and children, just up and disappeared without a trace. Quinn stepped up and took care of his brothers, as the family moved forward. Quinn is now an adult and still takes care of everyone as much as he can. He alternates his time between the family ranch and his career following and researching wolf packs in an effort at conservation. This particular career path can take him away from home for weeks at a time living off the land as he follows the pack, documenting and observing. This arrangement has always worked well for him. He has his brothers, father and grandfather whom he loves very much, but he also has his solitary life that he loves.
Cheyenne O'Brien has stepped up to takeover her family's ranch after losing both her brother and her father within the last year. She has the help of her ranch hands, thank goodness. But, there is still a lot of work and a lot of pressure on her to keep everything up. One night while working in a snowstorm, she defends her calves against a wolf and finds herself dealing with a very unhappy Quinn Conway. Because of the storm, Quinn spends the night and that's when all of the craziness begins.
This book is a romance novel with a bit of mystery. There are unexplained fires (that causes Cheyenne to almost lose everything, including a father figure). The mystery part of it was way too easy to figure out. I figured it out in the first page that the character was mentioned. This is precisely why I didn't give this book a 4 star rating. I am not good at figuring out the bad guys and I figured it out right away. Other than that the book was great. I enjoyed all of the characters (well, except the bad guy, obviously) and their banter with each other. It's so nice to read a family who gives each other a hard time, but truly likes each other. I can not wait for the next book to be released in this series. September can't get here fast enough.

Quinn by R.C. Ryan.
Wow, I gave this romance novel 4 stars! Not because it was an exquisite, edge-of-your-seat story, but because I finally found an author that can write and/or has a good editor and doesn't rely exclusively on detailed sex scenes to be the focus of the entire book. In other words, there's an actual story here. I would normally have given 'Quinn' 3 stars but after the last few disastrous encounters with romance novels I was so happy I jumped it an extra star.
Cheyenne has had a tough few years. Her mom died when she was young and her brother and Dad were all the family she had left. Then Buddy died in a car accident and her Dad died up on the mountain chasing lost cattle. Now Cheyenne runs the ranch alone with Micah, who has run the house since her mom died and Buddy's best friend, Austin, who came to the ranch and stayed on to help after Buddy's death. Quinn Conway also grew up without his mother but he still had his 2 brothers, Dad and Grandpa as well as the housekeeper and cook for family.
Disturbing accidents start happening to Cheyenne and her ranch, the house is nearly burned to the ground with Cheyenne and Quinn inside, the bunkhouse is set on fire with Micah inside and when Cheyenne stays at Quinn's ranch while hers is being rebuilt, his barn is set afire. These events no longer seem like random accidents and call into question other "accidents". There is a handy villain but honestly I didn't believe it for more than a couple of pages. There was just something about the real killer that leapt out at me almost immediately.
"Quinn" describes ranching in Wyoming without getting preachy about politics or anything else. Quinn, a rancher, is also a wildlife biologist specializing in wolves, two jobs that are usually diametrically opposed on the wolf issue. There is sex, it is a romance novel after all. But Ryan doesn't take 16 pages to describe and bore you to tears with it. It's a part of the story, it isn't the whole story. When I want a more erotic story, I go with authors like Christine Feehan, J.R. Ward, or even Kresley Cole and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
For a light, quick-read kind of book that I call a "palate refresher", a book to read between other darker genres, I will definitely be coming back to R.C. Ryan aka Ruth Langan again.

Quinn is the first book in a new trilogy by RC Ryan centers around the three Conway brothers. This is my first book by RC Ryan, and I have to say I will be reading more!! I can’t wait for the rest of this series!!
When Quinn was young two traumatic events shaped his life path big time. First his mother disappears without a trace, and then he and his brothers witness an unnecessary killing of a momma wolf and her young pups. Now he not only works the family ranch, but he studies and documents wolves. He spends years studying one certain pack out in the mountains, until the day he watches his Alpha get shot by a neighboring rancher. He gets pissed enough to follow the rancher home. He wasn’t expecting the rancher to be the gorgeous Cheyenne O’Brien. After she proves she was just protecting her herd, he is forced to spend the night at her ranch due to the winter weather. He witnesses one of the strange “accidents” that have been happening at her ranch since the death of her brother and then not long after her father. Quinn takes her to stay at his house till the problems of the “accident” can be cleaned up at her ranch. While staying at his ranch neither of them can ignore the chemistry that continues to build between them. She brings out his protective instincts, and he makes her fill safe and happy like she hasn’t felt since the death of her father.
This is a really great romance with a suspense that keeps you guessing! I really enjoyed the way the Conway family acts around each other, and the way they included Cheyenne as one of them. I really love Big Jim Conway, the grandfather and head of the family. The banter at the dinner table had me chuckling. This is a great family, and I can’t wait to read about the rest of the brothers!! I highly recommend this book!

Does every step I take lead me somewhere?
Quinn Conway grew up in a rugged part of Montana knowing that nothing came easy or was handed to you. He had a great family that supports him, even though the mystery surrounding his mother’s disappearance still haunts them all. Quinn took his childhood passion for wolves and has made it his life’s work gaining a reputation and respect in his chosen field. While following one of his wolf packs Quinn happens to cross paths with Cheyenne O’Brien, a feisty female who happens to own the ranch next to his and wants him gone, now.
Cheyenne has suffered through one loss after another and she suspects that Quinn is someone coming to take something else away. It turns out after meeting her what Quinn wants is not real estate but room in her heart. Cheyenne is not sure she can accommodate him but when circumstances force them to share some space she begins to realize there is so much more to this man than she could have ever hoped for. Quinn is kind, thoughtful, and considerate of her need for space as much as her desire for affection. What more could a woman want, well Cheyenne is going to find out.
Quinn and Cheyenne are trying to find a way to stop the problems on her ranch, find out who is creating all these problems, and steal a few minutes alone. Quinn has a large, boisterous family that is more than willing to embrace Cheyenne. What needs to happen is for Cheyenne to put her arms out and accept all this love coming her way. Quinn Conway is the oldest of three brothers. After a horrible incident that he and his brothers witnessed he has spent most of his life studying wolves. When he witnesses his Alpha wolf die at the hand of a rancher he goes to confront him. Only it’s not a him.
Cheyenne O’Brien has had a rough couple of years with the death of her brother followed by her father. So when Quinn shows up yelling about killing his wolf she doesn’t back down, she puts him in his place. But then a series of “accidents” bring them together as they try to figure out who’s behind it all.

Quinn started out a bit slow and I was worried it was going to be a stilted cowboy story. But once Quinn and Cheyenne met the story picked up and I was completely drawn in. Even though I figured out the “villain” pretty early on and it seemed a bit far-fetched, the suspense had me turning the page.
There is no denying the chemistry between Quinn and Cheyenne but I almost wish it were drawn out more. Though when these two get together they certainly smoke up the sheets. I can’t wait to learn more about the brothers and I hope we discover what happened to Quinn’s mom.

Quinn comes back home for a few days after his Wolf Pack has settled in to their den. Since he was young and witness a killing for a mom and her two wolf pups, things changed in him that day. Not only did his mom vanish from his family’s lives with no trace he see the pups pass as well. He meets up with his family for a few days on the ranch. After a break he heads back up into the hills with his wolf pack and the leader of the pack has been shot. Quinn is furious and trails the person who did it. He’s shocked to find out it is a woman. Cheyenne is head strong and after loosing her bother and father in the span of two years takes over the ranch.
She’s alarmed when a strange man comes upon her in the barn. After talking, they made some peace and he stayed overnight as it was late and snowing outside. Things start to happen and Quinn decided to help Cheyenne figure out was is going on.
The story line was a page turner. The characters banter was humorous at times and romantic. The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. I figured out who was the bad guy behind things before the middle of the book but I still wanted to know why. It did not take away from the story what so ever. The setting in Wyoming was remarkable made you think you were there with the Conway family.
I am looking forward to book two of the series Josh which has a release date of September 25th.

So it's the kind of book that make me undecided even after I finish it.
Did I enjoyed it? Yes. But was it extraordinary ? No. But do I want to read the others one ? I don't know.
The success of this book was the family part and the relashionship between the three brothers and their father. In spite of their mother's mysterious disappearance when they were young and even if years later they still don't know what happened the members of the family stayed close and keeped a sense of humour. They laugh all the time. It was so touching to see the dad being so proud of his sons and that he wanted them near him after a life traitening event.
Now for the not so good part. This book doesn't stand out. I felt like I read this plot a hundred times before (the only original thing was that Quinn study wolfs but this idea wasn't exploit enough). Also we can see right at the beginning who the real bad guy is. And what he did, it was just too much. Finally I must say that it took me some time at first to believe that Quinn & Cheyenne attraction to each other was genuine. This felt more like friendship than romance at first but after some chapters I believed it was real and understood it just wasn't insta-love/lust and the end was so sweet it really sold me to their romance.
So I think finally I'll read the others coz even if I'm not a fan, there was still enough good things about this series and I wanna know how Josh and Jesse will find their HEA.

The first in a new series, Quinn introduces the Conway brothers and their father and grandfather – along with the back story of the boys’ mother’s disappearance. Each Conway son has his own quirk, and Quinn’s is tracking wolves. When Quinn first meets Cheyenne O’Brien, he’s on the warpath after she’d shot an alpha wolf he’d been following. Then he finds out how wrong he was, and when Mother Nature throws them together, he goes along with it.
I love Quinn, and I love his family. Their relationship is warm and caring, and you can feel the love they have for each other in their “manly” banter… (This is a family of all men, after all!) And when Cheyenne appears on their doorstep, you can tell they all know something’s up – but they all step in to help out. Yup, I LOVE these men!
Ok, yummy cowboys aside, Quinn has an interesting plot – even if I knew whodunnit a mile away. The tension is so-so, but the romance is awwwwwwwwww, and the boys will have your hearts melting.

LOVED IT
The story takes us to Quinn, the eldest of the three Conway boys and since his mother disappeared when they were kids, has taken the brunt of the abandonment. So when Quinn, who loves nature and all it's creatures finds one of his now adult wolf pups dead, he blames the nearby rancher, Cheyenne. She had good reason to believe that this wold was killing her cattle. Cute meet? I guess for the ranching world, this is normal. The pair find common ground even though they seem to be opposites. There is a lot of drama building with Cheyenne and you wonder if she is strong enough to pull through this latest development in her life. Overall, a great romance that takes this cowboy story in a new direction. For some reason, I was really reminded of parts of Little House on the Prairie where one calamity after another seems to follow the Wilder family.

An engaging story of today's West and the experiences of the oldest of three brothers, all deeply impacted by their mother's unexplained disappearance. Quinn is also changed by an early experience involving the death of a wolf mother and pups, and ultimately becomes a nationally known expert on the life and habits of wolves. Tracking a pack for five years, the death of the Alpha also changes Quinn's life direction and embroils him in a deeper controversy and mystery surrounding a woman who owns the ranch next to his dad's. It is an entertaining "cowboy" story that is really about a developing relationship and the effect that one deeply disturbed individual can have on all their lives. A really terrific read.
