Taylor Delaney is the love of my life.
She’s also the one I've hurt the most.
Two years ago, I made a disastrous mistake.
One I’m not sure I can make amends from.
But I have to try, because I’m nothing without her.

Brad Ashby's here, in my hometown, asking for a second chance.
All those unresolved feelings for him have resurfaced.
Not that they ever went away.
I know I should run him out of the town, but I can’t.
He needs to know that I wasn’t the only one who was deceived.

When I requested this from Netgalley, I didn't realise there had been a previous book about Brad's sister and his best friend. I'm presuming a lot of Brad and Taylor's history was mentioned in that book as in this book, we only get brief flashbacks of their relationship. I feel the author wrote this book assuming all her readers would have read the previous book. Therefore, I didn't really believe in the great love that Brad and Taylor were supposed to have for one another. It sounded more like a College romance. We weren't told how long their previous relationship lasted but considering it was written as if it was some great love story, I found it odd later in the story that she had never met his parents and he didn't know the history with her father and sister.

The storyline is not original. She caught him having sex with another girl just as she was about to tell him she was pregnant. She then left town and didn't tell him he was a father. Brad went through a bad time and had turned to drugs etc but now he's sorted himself out and it's two years later and he tracks Taylor down to tell her he's still in love with her. He soon learn he's a father but there is no angst in this story. He accepts it and doesn't get angry and the next day she's allowing him to look after their daughter by himself. They just fall back into a relationship and everything is hunky dory!

As for Taylor...well she is a feeble heroine. Not only did she catch Brad having sex with another woman, she then found out that he had got engaged to another girl and was to be married (I believe that plotline was part of the first book). Yet the minute he's back in her life, she forgives him instantly and trusts him instantly. It just didn't ring true for me. Also, I didn't like the way she just dumped her friend Sam who had been there for her the last two years but because Brad wasn't happy about him, she was happy for Sam not to be in her and her daughter's life anymore.

This was a sweet, second chance romance with no angst. It became a bit boring three quarters of the way through...possibly setting up storylines for future characters in this series. For me though, it read a bit like a YA romance. The characters came across like kids when in fact they were mid twenties.

I am so confused by the high ratings. It was unnecessary angst and drama with an asshole hero and a doormat heroine. This book was full of cliches and was so predictable. I actually quite like second chance romances if they are done well, this was not. Brad was an ass, maybe the whole cheating due to intoxication could be forgiven if he actually fought for Taylor. I hate drama that makes no sense, he loves Taylor, yet when he gets clean does he track her down? Write to her? Remain celibate and get his shit together? No, he dates and gets engaged to another woman. The whole, ‘I got engaged because I was trying to forget you’ was bull as well. How does that make sense? How is that fair on the other woman? It just showed me what a self absorbed tool he was. Taylor was no better. She kept Emerson from Brad, but I don’t understand why, because he literally shows up and she straight away agrees to give him another chance and continually apologised to him? Why bother staying away all this time? This was just not good and the characters weak and boring. I didn’t believe Brad had changed enough and really loved Taylor, and I felt Taylor made no sense!

Taylor & Brad were dating in college when Brad's dream of Olympic selection ended. This was the beginning of a downward spiral for Brad. He indulged in the temptation of alcohol and drugs to sooth his disappointment. Taylor had seen this behaviour before from her own sister and father. She was shocked to now be experiencing this with Brad but after some really deep soul searching she decides to give him one more chance to pull himself out of the hole he was falling down. However, the scene she walked in on was enough to send her running from him for good.

Two years later, Brad is back in town and he wants Taylor back. He knows that she is the only girl he has truly ever loved and he just has to know if she still feels the same way. Taylor is completely gob smacked to see Brad again, she has moved on with her life without him. She is living back in her home town in her own home and has the job she always wanted. She has a man in her life that truly cares about her and makes her busy life easier to cope with.

Is she truly happy though? Seeing Brad brings back all those overwhelming feelings she had for him when they were dating and she is completely conflicted over what to do about them. She has never stopped loving him either but can she risk being hurt again? Can she trust him with her heart? How will he react to the secrets he knows nothing about from back when she left him?

This book had everything in it that I love in a second chance love story. It was full of hope, regret, forgiveness and love. I didn't want this story to end. I loved it!

So much better than the first book in the series......but then I absolutely hated that one so it couldn't technically get much worse for me!

This had a Duo POV which I preferred and I liked the MC's more in this book than in the last.

Now for what I didn't like......He cheated on her and she walked in on him high and shagging some bird he has little recollection off (even thou this was 2 and half years ago.......that'd be hard to recover from)
When she ran over his foot when he first approached her I thought "YES!" But then he spoke one paragraph (it was probably more but you get my point) about only needing a week (a fucking week!) and he'd win her back!

And he was right I don't even think it took him that long! Which is bloody pathetic! This man cheated on her, was a drug addict, never tried to apologise or win her back, and until recently had been engaged to someone else! I mean come on h grow a pair of lady nuts and run over the fuckers other foot! Don't give in that fast!

So yeah it was written better than the first but the main H was a complete DoucheBag!!!! And the main h was pretty much a strong woman who'd picked herself up and survived getting over the boy who destroyed her only to (pretty much) bend over instantly for the man he'd become!

I don't mind a second chance story because when well done they are really good
This one though was not well done, at all. He really really messed it up in unforgivable ways and so had a lot to make up for so I expected a lot of groveling and drama and tears and sooooo much angst but nothing, just nothing. He messed up big time, repeatedly, and then came back and basicly she had the red carpet rolled down for him because he didn't have to do nothing to get her back. It's like she was just waiting for him to come back and regardless of what he said or did she would take him back. It's just low angst and no fun like that.

This was a cute story about second chances. Taylor caught her boyfriend cheating on her so after graduation she went back to her hometown. Now two years later Brad has come to win her back but earning her trust back won't be easy.

Brad hit a downward spiral after he found out he wouldn't be going to the Olympics. He drank, did drugs and cheated on the woman he loved. Now he wants Taylor back in his life but gets the shock that he is a father. Is he mad he missed out? Yes but he doesn't blame her. Now that he's back he will do everything possible to show Taylor that he is a changed man so he can have his family back.

I love second chance stories and this one was no different. Since Lynn is a new author to me I wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed reading about this couple.

What I liked most about this book is that it had dual povs which I thought was very important to the story and I liked knowing what the characters were thinking and feeling in their own words.

It had some romance which I enjoyed but I would have liked to have seen more time with them together. I liked how easily Brad took to being a father and how he just embraced it right away.

I would have liked to see maybe some sex scenes between these two characters. There is one and it's a fade to black but that didn't take away from the appeal of this book.

If you love second chance at love stories this is the story for you. It's filled with love, forgiveness and a wonderful HEA.

I haven't read the first story in this series and I don't really think it's necessary to read this, but I think it could add to it.
Taylor and Brad dated in college, his dream of becoming an Olympian is shattered and his life spirals out of control. In his haze he cheats on Taylor and gets caught in the act. Now, 2 years later he's back in her life, but she has a secret.
The story was good, a sweet story of second chances. It doesn't have a lot of drama, but it kept my attention. I enjoy the second chance romance with a bit of fun. The character Em really makes the story and melts your heart along the way.

Oh, my heart! It PLUMMETED with the first words in Love Rekindled—a book I knew had the potential to bruise my heart, but which I couldn’t wait to read… And I am so glad I did, because while it may have plummeted with the opening line, in the end, my heart had soared higher than high.

Brad Ashby… He could have been—and was—an arrogant bastard. A heart-breaker. But he wasn't just that. No, actually, he was HARDLY that. Because at his core, Brad was a loving, caring, good man looking to make amends for his mistakes. Looking to win back Taylor, the love of his life, and the woman he pushed away—destroyed—after his dreams crashed to the ground around him. Looking to be the man he needed to be to deserve all the good that was returning to his life. And he managed it.

I was barely pages into this book before I was head-over-heels for Brad Ashby. Michelle Lynn has gifted readers this amazing man who owned his mistakes, refused to hide behind excuses and stood up and took responsibility. He might have fallen—and nearly stumbled again as the tension rode high—but he picked himself up. And I was cheering for him the entire time.

This couple went through so much, and in such a realistic way, I couldn’t help the ACHE in my chest. The frown pulling at my forehead. The tears that threatened with each new thing—good or bad—that turned this rekindled love from a flame-out to a blazing inferno. Taylor and Brad were heat and chemistry and electricity. They were beautiful, real, and their mistakes, their apologies, their honesty, their love made me want to sink into this story and never, ever leave it.

I'll never fail her again.

And I truly believed he wouldn't either. I could feel the honesty in that statement. I could feel Brad’s desperation for Taylor. I could feel everything, and that, THAT, is what made this book so remarkable. That is what made this book so utterly unputdownable. That is why, when I think back over the moments that spoke to me, I want to sing the praise of this book and its author at the same time I try to calm my romantic heart so that I have a chance of being able to move on.

I loved Love Surfaced something fierce—it was one of my top reads for 2015—and I was desperate for more on what happened with Brad. That phone call? I've been turning it over in my head for months. And while Love Rekindled can be read standalone, why deny yourself the magic that is Love Surfaced? Read it, fall in love with it, and then do what I did…fall even more in love with this second, perfect book. With Brad Ashby, and his perfect, strong Taylor—who I loved just as much as our hero. Find out why, when the opening line makes your stomach drop, you should press on so you don't miss the magic that is this book. Let your heart soar. ~ Beth, 6 stars

~~~
The opening line.
I died. Right there. My heart stopped for a moment in time and then started beating at a super rapid pace. Then I had to go back, way back in time, and think. Did I miss something? Should I have attempted a re-read before I broke into this? NOOOO, with that opening line, I was already committed to the deep end and was swimming for my life. And it just got better!!
I love L.O.V.E. So, of course, Love Rekindled was perfect for me. Oh, the feels on each page. No flailing but plenty of blushing, smiling, maybe an oooh or ahhh, or even a gasp or two. And this was all while I was stuck next to the window on a plane, in the last row by the bathroom. Thankfully my seat-mate wasn’t sure who the oohs and ahhhs were coming from... ;)
Brad and Taylor have the relationship that so many of us have lived, loved or experienced from the outside, as a friend or family member. Young Love. The kind where nothing can go wrong until…it does. Then, one person is left broken-hearted and the other walks away, seemingly with no regrets or hurt. In this case, Brad admits his mistake right out of the gate. But what we also learn is semi heart-wrenching.
Two years ago, I fell into a hole, and as fast as my fingers clawed to escape, the dirt continued to pile on me.
—Life isn’t perfect, neither are we. We make mistakes. We survive them the best way we can and sometimes we get second chances.
Taylor is a strong, determined, amazing woman. A woman who never stopped loving Brad. She picked up the pieces of her life and attempted to move on. Yet remembered him every day, her love never waining. I loved Taylor as much as I loved Brad. She pulled herself up by her bootstraps and made a life for herself. She didn’t stop living when the going got tough. She didn’t give up or wallow, she worked hard and survived. She wasn’t waiting for a man to save her and that was refreshing.
When Brad came back Taylor was leery—I think we all would be, with a broken heart that never healed. But ultimately, her unwavering love for Brad triumphed and she gave him a second chance. The rollercoaster was just enough for me. It wasn’t too high or too full of twists but sweet perfection! I’ll can’t wait to revisit these characters soon! ~ Heather, 4.5 Breathtaking stars
description
I wish there more star ratings were available for reads like this! I loved every page of this book.
This book is a second chance romance and is told in dual POVs, which I love. It already started off on a positive note in my eyes with being one of my favorite genres and the dual POVs.
We got a glimpse of Taylor and Brad in Love Surfaced and I for one, was curious as to what happened and if they got their happy ever after.
I don’t want to give any of the details away with this one, but I will say that there are a couple ‘Ah-Ha’ moments in it.
Brad and Taylor were college sweethearts, the picture perfect couple, until his dreams of swimming in the Olympics shattered and caused his entire world to collapse around him. Leaving Taylor in the midst of all the chaos, betrayed and heartbroken.
I for one loved Brad from first meeting him so I was instantly rooting for him to fix the issues and win Taylor back. And Taylor, I loved that she was strong and independent. I love that she stood up to Brad and wanted him to prove himself to her after all of his mistakes in the past.
These characters were diverse and well thought out; I felt as if they were real people and not characters of a book. I laughed, cried and loved right along with them. The realism is incredible throughout this entire story, you as a reader put yourself into Taylor’s position and even Brad’s at times, and feel the same emotions as the author wrote.
This book is phenomenal, after reading Love Surfaced (a book about Brad’s twin sister and his best friend) and now this one, I have to say I am a huge fan of Michelle Lynne. She’s what I consider as an automatic one-click now. Her writing is beautiful and heartfelt, and this book is no different.
3,5 ⭐ Me ha gustado menos que el primero, la verdad, ya sea porque él la engañó al principio de su relación o porque ella no se lo puso demasiado difícil. Tampoco es que me gustase mucho la personalidad de Brad, tan inmaduro y egoísta. No pasa nada del otro mundo entre ellos, ni se dan graves circunstancias que angustien, es sencillo y bonito también, porque al final el chico se da cuenta de que debe centrarse y madurar si quiere que su nueva familia se quede a su lado.
Bueno y ahora a por el tercero tengo curiosidad por ver como se desarrolla la historia entre Bea y Dylan (creo que este sí es mas mi tipo) ;-)
I really liked this and loved seeing Brad get his happy ending, loved seeing Piper and Tanner again.
I only gave it a 3 because while I liked it, I didn't love it. I am an angst queen. I would have loved more angst involved to give it a higher rating. :)
This is a second chance romance that will leave you with a sweet, happy feeling when you are done. I did not read the first book in this series but I don’t believe that I lost a beat so don’t let that keep you from reading this one. That isn’t to say that I’m not going to go back and read the first book because this one was really good.
Brad was an Olympian hopeful in swimming but his dreams came to a crushing halt when he was cut from the team but his best friend Tanner made it through. Brad’s whole life was swimming and competing so when this happened he crashed and burned. He let drugs take over his life and he lost the love of his life because of all of his poor decisions from his actions. Taylor did everything in her power to pull Brad out of this dark time. On the day that she was going to tell him that she was pregnant she walked in to see him with another girl in his bed. That was the last straw, Taylor had to cut her loses with Brad and try to make a life for her and that new little baby who was going to be coming in a few short months. Taylor knew that until Brad wanted to help himself there was no way she wanted him in her life. She had learned this with having a drug addict for a sister and her dad was the town drunk.
Taylor did move back to her hometown and had a baby daughter all by herself. She did her best with her little girl Emerson. Taylor got a job as a nurse in the hospital and made a life for her and Em. The last Taylor had heard Brad was engaged and about to be married so you can believe that she was totally surprised when Brad showed up at the hospital that Taylor was working at two years after she had walked in on him and the other girl. Nothing like getting your foot drove over to make a guy wonder if he was doing the right thing by pursuing her again! Once he was able to get Taylor to listen to him he asked for one week for her to see that he had really changed and that the reason he broke off his engagement right before he was to walk down the aisle was because he never got over the real love of his life. And all of this was before he learned that he was now the father of a cute little girl who looked just like him.
Was Brad going to be able to convince Taylor that he was a changed man and that he was worthy of not only her but that cute little girl of theirs? Would Taylor be able to forgive the man who wouldn’t let her help him and then tore her heart out especially now that she had Em to think of too? There was no way she wanted Brad in Em’s live if he was just going to tune out like he did the last time things feel apart for him.
BETH'S REVIEW
I am a true sucker for second chance romances so when chance to check this one out, I was more than happy to. Love Surfaced, the first book in this series, was a sweet read I enjoyed, so I was glad to get to see more of Tanner & Piper in this one. This book could be read as a stand alone, but I am glad I got to read both as I think I enjoyed the story more plus we got a glimpse of Brad in the first book.
Taylor and Brad were once a happy couple. That all quickly began to change when Brad’s dream of making the Olympic swim team disappeared due to a drug incident and then things began to spiral downward until he did the unthinkable by cheating on Taylor. But it was at that moment of Taylor catching Brad with another woman that her life changed as well and she changed both of their lives by walking out and never looking back. Now two years later, Brad has learned how much life changed for Taylor two years ago and he’s back to win her back and get his family back together
I really loved Brad’s character. He made so many mistakes, especially when it came to him and Taylor but he was back to make amends and hopefully get her forgiveness. He’s cleaned up his act and was not afraid to own up the mistakes he made, but he wanted and needed to do something with his life, now more than ever that he had not only Taylor to be better for but his daughter as well. Brad was hot and sexy, and definitely cocky and arrogant, but I couldn’t help falling in love with him and was rooting for him to win Taylor over.
I really enjoyed Taylor’s character, I admired her strength to walk away and raise her daughter on her own. She made a life and a home for them but she also never stopped loving Brad. I loved the fact that even though she still knew she loved him, she also didn’t back down and made him work to win her trust and forgiveness.
I really enjoyed the dynamic the author built between these two characters. I really enjoyed that the author didn’t throw them back together immediately but also didn’t drag it out through the whole story. I also really enjoyed getting both their POV’s throughout the story.
Overall a really enjoyable second chance love story. I enjoyed Love Surfaced but must say that I really enjoyed this one more. This book was very well written and filled with a great story and lots of emotion that left me laughing one minute and ready to scream the next. I have not read much by this author but the more I read, the more I love her work more and will definitely be checking out her other books.
This book was originally reviewed on The Book Hookup.
4 sweet stars That first paragraph wow’d me. The raw honesty of it…I couldn’t help but want to know Brad, even though he had some really big regrets… I can admit I kind of fell for him right then and there. It’s ok if you judge me, he redeemed himself big time and I was glad Taylor give him a second chance.
I think what I loved most about this story (besides sexy as hell Brad Ashby) is that while yes, secrets had been kept and mistakes had been made, all that all ended in the past. This book was about healing, about moving forward and taking a chance. It could have so easily drummed up so much drama but it didn’t, and that’s because both Taylor and Brad had really matured so much. I soaked up their honesty about how scared they were and relished every touch, every kiss, every gesture that brought them closer together.
The romance was sweet and just the right amount of hot. It was a second chance romance, but I really could feel them discovering each other all over again. I think my favorite parts were the sweet, chaste kisses. They symbolized so much.
I want to touch on the cover. In all honesty it’s what drew me to the book in the first place. It is saying so much and I love it… yet after reading the book it doesn’t make sense. They were never out swimming and it doesn’t tie in. oh well….
The secondary characters in this story were great. I have not read the first book, but I know Piper and Tanner have some kind of epic love and I’m going to need to read their journey. My favorite secondary character though, was Brad’s mom. She pulled on my heartstrings and I really felt the true love she had for her son and family. It radiated out of her and I loved her! On the flip side there were quite a few bitchy women in this book, and they were a little over the top. I know women can be mean, but it’s usually behind the back, not to the face like several women in this story were to Taylor. I don’t know if it needed to be done so strongly. It didn’t take away from anything, but didn’t add anything either.
Rec this? YES! A heartfelt story about second chance love, forgiving, and falling in love all over again. I am looking forward to discovering more works by Michelle Lynn.
An all consuming, emotive read about second chance love, that I literally did not want to put down from start to finish. I knew from reading the opening page that my heart was in for a bumpy ride, I was just hoping it would survive...
Taylor and Brad were dating in college, when Brads Olympic dream was ended he turned to drink and drugs. His life spiraled out of control, resulting in him be so out of it that he ends up cheating on Taylor, Taylor happens to walk in on it, fast forward two years and and Love Rekindled picks up their story.
Brad Ashby's here, in my hometown, asking for a second chance. All those unresolved feelings for him have resurfaced. Not that they ever went away. I know I should run him out of the town, but I can’t. He needs to know that I wasn’t the only one who was deceived.
Taylor Delaney is the love of my life. She’s also the one I've hurt the most. Two years ago, I made a disastrous mistake. One I’m not sure I can make amends from. But I have to try, because I’m nothing without her.
Will they be able to give their relationship another go? Can Brad rebuild the trust he destroyed? Can Taylor forgive and move past all the unresolved issues she has?
I have to say that this story hit me emotionally on so many levels, I don't want to divulge certain parts of the plot as I feel you need to read them without having it spoilt but all I will say is the thoughts and feelings that Taylor has throughout resonated on such a personal level that at times it made for difficult reading but that in it's self is a testament to the author. I didn't just read their story I felt it. As for Brad I wanted to dislike him for what he had done previously I really did, but I just couldn't.
This is the second book in the Love Resurfaced Series, something I did not know until I was part way through, however that being said it didn't hinder my reading experience as there was enough of their previous background covered. I have since purchased the first book in the series and can't wait to read it.
Would highly recommend to readers who enjoy second chance romance reads.
There's not much more I love than a second chance romance. Toss in another big secret that's a favorite of mine, which I won't give away, and I'm hooked! While it would help to give you more background context, you don't necessarily have to read the first book in this series before this one. In fact, I might almost recommend reading them out of order because I didn't much like Brad in the previous book. I'm all about stories of redemption though, so I had to find out what happened. I was super excited when I saw this book was being released and couldn't wait to see where Lynn would take the characters.
Whereas the Brad we knew from Love Surfaced was a shell of a man, the Brad in Love Rekindled is about 90% towards the man he wants to be. I loved his carefree attitude, yet his stubbornness drove me crazy. He bent over backwards to help others and offer forgiveness, yet wouldn't accept it for himself. There comes a point in our lives where we reach a crossroads. Brad chose the wrong path the first time, which led to our couple splitting up. But when he was faced with another fork in the road, he jumped in head first without any reservations. He knew as much as he had going for him, his life would be empty without Taylor. She was it for him; there could be no substitutes. I loved how he fought for her. I love that they took the time to get to know each other again and developed a much more stable relationship.
I admired Taylor's strength for all she had been forced to endure. This girl was a fighter and a healer; she truly just cared about people and fought for those she loved. It's at this point I wish I could talk about something else, but I'm just going to let you figure out that little morsel all on your own. Just know it heightens the love I had for this book tenfold. This is a story of forgiveness, learning to trust, and following your heart. It's equal parts heartbreaking and sweet and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series and to discovering all of Dylan and Eva's secrets. Bring it on!
I was really looking forward to reading Love Rekindled after I read the blurb and pretty much the moment it appeared on my kindle I jumped right into it. I LOVE love so a second chance romance novel is one I cannot pass up. Love Rekindled is the story of Brad Ashby, who broke the heart of his one true love, Taylor, when his dreams crumbled right in front of him. After many years of reflection and trying to change for the best Brad realizes that the one who he pushed away is the one who he doesn’t want to live without. When Brad breaks Taylor’s heart she quickly wants to move on with her life leaving Brad in the past forever. As time goes by and Brad realizes the biggest mistake of his life lead him to loosing everything he never knew he wanted and needed, Brad makes it his mission to win Taylor back. I absolutely loved how honest Michelle Lynn made Brad’s character-he owned up to all his mistakes and demons and realized how important it was/is to continue to strive to be the best he can be regardless of what life throws at you. I have such a crush on Brad and couldn't help but root for him as he tried to win Taylor back! I loved Taylor as a main heroine in the book because she was such a strong, fierce, and awesome person. She took the cards that life dealt her and handled them with grace and class. As you read the story you can’t help but feel and cheer for Taylor as well. The book is filled with life lessons, twists, love, and forgiveness-personally its everything that I look for in a second chance romance book.
I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to read this book- it was just the perfect pick me up book that I was looking for. If you are a fan of love you will enjoy this book! Michelle Lynn did such an amazing job writing this story and I truly can’t sing her praise enough. This is my first time reading a book written by her and it surely won’t be my last!!
Love Rekindled by Michelle Lynn
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
*Clapping* Brad the DB gets redeemed!! I am happy because I liked and felt sorry for Brad at times in the last book. Granted he DESERVED the issues he had too contend with BUT still he does deserve a HEA.
Brad has been in love with Taylor forever. He messed up and move on but never really forgot her. He shakes stuff up in the last book and decides to go after his woman. We see Brad stalking Taylor outside of work. He is so scared and afraid of her because he wants and needs her in his life.
Taylor is stunned to see Brad. She literally drives over him *snickers*. He is a mess. She loves him but the hurt he caused her is a very real wound. Taylor is afraid of her heart plus a huge secret she has kept from him for over 2 years.
Brad put son the hard core press to get Taylor to forgive him. He also decides to work part time at the swimming center near his house. When Taylor shows up at his lessons he is stunned and happy over this new predicament he finds himself in.
The two really open up, deal with her family, her closest friend who happens to also love her , and his ex while figuring out how to be together and move forward. Their relationship still had the college romance chemistry but a new grown up feel. She is there to help give Brad the strength to move on and up with his failed Olympic dreams plus he is there to help her realize that she made all the right choices in keeping the secret she did from him.
I CANNOT wait for Dylan and Bea’s story. Those two made the book so funny. They are this weird love/hate thing going on and I cannot wait to see them both get all mushy over the other.
Taylor Delaney met and fell in love with the love of her life during her last years in college. Brad Ashby was on the swim team and a known lady's man. Just the type of guy Taylor knew she shouldn't fall for but just couldn't help herself. Then when Brad's olympic dreams crash around him his life goes into a tail spin, one Taylor tries to pull him out of. Instead he breaks her heart when she finds him in bed with another woman. What is worse is that Taylor went that night to tell Brad news of her own. News she never shared and ran far from Brad's drug use and deceit.
Now two years later Taylor has somewhat of a life but Brad shows up in her small town wanting her back. The question is how will he react when he finds out she has secrets of her own.
I really enjoyed this book, in fact I found myself not wanting to put it down. I love second chance love stories so this one was right up my alley. I took off a star for a couple of reasons, one this is a stand alone and the first time I have read this author (but will not be the last). However, there were other characters in the story that I have a hunch are in another series. I felt like I was missing part of the back story of the characters. However that did not take away from Brad and Taylor. I really liked these two, they both made mistakes but both are willing to listen to their heart and make it right. There isn't a lot of angst which is nice to have a break from time to time. Taylor is strong and her decisions are understandable based on her past and her family. And you can't help but to love Brad when you see how much he has grown and the type of man he is now.
Love Rekindled is the first book I have read by Michelle Lynn, even though I have several of hers on my Kindle. I was consumed with the book from the very first few words I read. There is nothing better than a “feel good” second chance romance. This one left me with warm fuzzies!
Both characters, Brad and Taylor, have made mistakes in their pasts. Brad’s mistake, in particular, caused the demise of their relationship. In fact, I’m not so sure I could have forgiven him for all that he put Taylor through. Taylor has kept secrets and made mistakes as well. However, I could understand why she made the decisions that she did. She is truly a strong woman who can stand on her own two feet, but Brad is back and not only wants her forgiveness but also another chance. She must make a huge decision that will not only impact her, but can she trust Brad with her heart?
Despite the synopsis of the book, it’s not filled with too much drama or angst. It’s a love story, and I love that it isn’t rushed between them. It’s also a story about redemption, trust, and taking responsibility for your mistakes and turning them into positives. Brad changed dramatically throughout the book; he grew and matured from a boy to a man. I loved the dual POVs…it really gave me insight to the both of their thoughts and emotions. Loved the bit about Piper and Tanner. I’m really hoping for Dylan and Bea’s story!
I have been waiting for Brad’s book since I finished Love Surfaced and it was sooooo worth the wait. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down and was so sad when I finished. This is a second chance romance with one big no way surprise that is revealed. I wasn’t expecting it, but we find it out quickly and it isn’t drug out, which I loved. There is some drama and roadblocks but nothing is exaggerating and is just enough. This is a fun and hot romance, with characters that you will connect with and fall in love with.
Brad is one of those characters that you can’t help but love, no matter his past mistakes. His growth throughout this book is astounding, and he finally has things in his life that make him complete. Taylor is such a strong female character. I found myself relating to her. She was hurt by Brad in the past but her fellings for him never went away. However, she has also made some decisions that have a major impact on Brad. There is so much that has happened in the past that threatens to harm their future. I loved them together, they fit well and brought the best out in each other but love isn’t always enough.
If you are a fan of a second chance romance that pulls you in and has you falling in love right along with the characters then Love Rekindled is the book for you. I can’t wait for more and I NEED Dylan and Bea’s (hopefully) story. The bits and piece of their relationship have me intrigued and I can’t wait to get into their heads.
Taylor, uhmm. I get the girl and why she did it but we could never know if was or not a good choice, yes she gave him space but she could had approach. Like a said he fails with her once she could have at least told him.
Em gain my heart!!!
The grandparents and Dylan, Bea and the other couple make an appearance and turn the story more light.I did not like Bea I did not like her kind of character and I did not belive the friendship btw Dylan and Brad, why Dylan did not tell him about her?? She is sap...I am the only one who did not like this sail.
I have to say that I started this book and I honestly could not put my kindle down. I had to finish it because I was hooked from the first sentence!
"I'm a cheater"
Of course we were aware from the first book how he cheated at the drug screening for swimming so we already knew this. When, in the opening of the book, he was waiting in the parking lot to see Taylor and spoke those words my heart was broken. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Brad and I was secretly hoping Taylor wasn't going to give him the time of day.
Well let me just say that the story that followed was perfection. I fell in love with Brad because, even though he comes across as cocky and arrogant, he loves with his whole heart. I loved Taylor as she is such a strong heroine and you honestly can't help but fall in love with her. The two of them together were a romance that you love reading about. They deal with life challenges together and they are determined to make it. I would definitely recommend reading this book and if you haven't read the first book Love Surfaced you really should!
