I honestly forgot to put in the last volume and this one. Things really aren't tense anymore, but it's still a fun read. Lighthearted.

I had to break down an buy this volume because my library has random volumes in this series missing. It’s pretty frustrating. Luckily, I found it at 2nd and Charles, so I didn’t have to pay $10 for it. I always feel like that’s a bit much for manga, but I suppose all those graphics are expensive to print.

This volume focuses on Akiha, the photographer that ropes Mizuki and the boys into a shoot. It’s just to test the waters, he says. Most of the boys seem keen to go ahead with the real deal, but Sano is worried that Akiha knows Mizuki is a girl and he has to help protect her secret. When Mizuki spends some time getting to know Akiha and hears the way he talks about photography she decides she wants to model for him. Sano feels like he needs to protect her and grudgingly acknowledges that he just wants to be near her as much as possible, so he decides that if she’s going to model he will too. But complications arise with the shoot. Mizuki and the boys might have a new enemy. The plot stayed on track the whole time, and that made me enjoy this volume more than the last couple.

There are some adorable moments with Mizuki and Sano. Akiha delivers the same photo to each of them in an envelope. It’s a photo of the two of them together smiling. He SO knows what’s going on there. I have to agree that they’re pretty transparent, but for whatever reason none of their friends see it. Of course, they also think Mizuki is a guy so maybe they just put the possibility out of there mind. After all, Sano is as straight as they come. There’s actually a moment when I thought Sano might tell Mizuki he knows she’s a girl. Alas, it’s not time for that yet. Akiha really interested me in this volume. It’s rare for me to care too much about supporting characters when there’s a romantic development going on. Still, I really enjoyed Akiha’s character. At first there seemed to be something mysterious about him and I worried he was going to do something to ruin everything. After his conversation with Mizuki about his passion for photography, I kind of loved him. By the end, I was excited about him and I hope I can look forward to more of him in the future.

This volume ends by leading into the next story. Io, Umeda’s sister, has recruited Umeda, Mizuki and the boys to clean up a house for her so she can have a party there. When they arrive it’s a complete disaster and it might even be haunted. I guess I get to look forward to a ghost story in the next volume. Now… if I can just track it down somewhere.

This volume gained back my interest, which has been waining through the last few. I’m still frustrated with how slow Mizuki and Sano’s relationahip is developing, but I really enjoyed the new character, Akiha.

Volume 10 is peak “How is Mizuki still not caught?!” energy. Every chapter flirts with disaster, only for some bizarre coincidence to save her at the last second. Nakatsu’s feelings are now so obvious that even he is starting to notice—kind of. Four stars for laugh-out-loud close calls, dorm shenanigans, and the unstoppable power of plot convenience.

Sesi foto Mizuki dan teman-temannya berlangsung lancar. Namun, model yang seharusnya bekerja dengan Akiha marah dan diam-diam merusak negatif film sehingga pemotretan harus diulang. Meski begitu, hasil foto Akiha langsung jadi hit dan menarik perhatian publik begitu iklannya bertebaran di jalan.

Setelah itu Nanba Io minta tolong dr. Umeda dan para muridnya untuk membersihkan rumah tua. Namun, kawasan di sana ternyata ada hantunya.

A photographer is sniffing around the guys! He knows the doctor...ha. And he wants to take photos of the guys. Sano doesn't want to do it and is worried Mizuki's secret will be revealed (he thinks she is too careless about it). They went to his art show (I think in the last book) and saw his beautiful shots.
What secrets will be revealed when they stand in front of the camera?

This volume is just filler. This series seems to like putting Mizuki in a position where people might realise she's a girl, but don't. Sano gets jealous and recognises his feelings for Mizuki, but it's such a small part of this volume that this book is still largely just filler.

Honestly, this volume is a filler. We get introduced to Akiha who is talented and all but he shouldn’t be going around kissing people. There’s too many forced kisses in this series now that I think about it. Not much of substance happens since it’s just filler but we do get to see the core boys looking ikemen AF. By the way, I like the random inclusion of some Tokyo sites. That’s all I have to say. 3/5

Quite possibly my favorite Hana-Kimi volume in a long time! Sano and Mizuki both are coming so far and it makes me really excited. I loved the whole photoshoot plot, if only because I have a soft spot for cosplay and dressup. I also really like Ebi, and she and Mizuki have a really cute friendship going on. I really hope all the photography stuff isn't gone forever.

The introduction of a new plot at the end really has me interested too. Can't wait to read volume 11!

Oh, and let's not forget the Umeda paperdolls. That quite possibly makes this the best thing ever.

Oh my god!!!1! I loooove this seriesss!! It's my favorite shoujo series and my second favorite manga series of ALL TIME! I just love everything about it!! I would totally do what Mizuki did.. though I don't think I could get away with it.... especially not in a Japanese school... -_- WELL! That's just not fair. Anyway, It's sooooo funny! AH! It's all so great! I can't contain the fan-girl in me! :O I even loved the TV series! (Especially the Taiwanese one! Ella and Jiro were hilarious!)

I binge read all of Hana Kimi. It's easy to see why that is so easy once you get into the second chapter of the series. Hana Kimi is filled with complex character moments, tension, and fun. All the characters come to life and its hard to put the story down. I've read my fair share of manga over the years and will continue to. I have the feeling that Hana Kimi will remain one of my favorites. I can't wait to get in a reread.
