Summer Nights

Rate this book
When two people are murdered in a normally sleepy, peaceful suburb, Lena Franke is roped in to find the killer, even though many consider Lena a liability.

There is no apparent motive, witnesses, or trace – but a discovery near the house turns the case into a baffling mystery. And the murderer is only getting started.

Along with her conservative, procedural colleague, Lena races across Western Stockholm in search of clues, but her hunt for answers reveals an enigma larger than anyone expects.

Before long, she realises that even the most idyllic places can hide dark secrets, some of which might push Lena over the edge.

Because some people will do anything to make sure the past stays quiet – and Lena begins to suspect that the murderer might not be her greatest concern…

I've read book 1, but this book really blew me away, I give it 5 stars. He makes Lena Franke into a wonder woman. I'll scale it down, but she's amazing. It has everything, it turns from going in this direction to one you wouldn't believe. Sometimes she was too sassy and I didn't like her and other times I liked her. Boman makes Lena into a person of interest and I'll be there for her next story.

I am giving this one 4* the same as the first one. I found this had a lot more errors in and I did get a bit bogged down by them in the beginning and was torn as to whether to stick with it or not. I'm glad I did but I don't really understand why he's gone backwards in this department.....
Once again Lena is having herself a rough time of things with this latest psycho she's pursuing, though she seems to suffer some of the very same issues he does, so therefore is closer to the resolution of things than she'd probably like to be. I look forward to getting hold of book 3 to see what transpires but do hope the editing or proofreading is going to be more accomplished in that one.
Once again, his little disclaimer tucked away in the frontal blurb tickled me. The only other author I recall doing this is Harlan Coben, and I think I only ever spotted him doing it just the once and not again.....a shame. There are some quite funny lines throughout, mostly courtesy of Lena herself, and I adored the character of Jimmy....what a smashing guy. Hope we get to see Gustav again in the next instalment, too.
Much of what he wrote appeared to be getting lost in translation in some fashion. He wrote, "Except that in difference to the giants" which doesn't read correctly in English and I'd have written, "Except that as opposed to the giants..." Then he demanded a dinner was on someone when he clearly meant insisted, a wardrobe being mentioned in a restaurant totally threw me till I finally realised he meant the cloakroom !! He also refers to a Samaritan person whereas Samaritan is sufficient. Then fixating a screwdriver when I believe he meant to stabilise
There were also odd words missed, speechmarks dropped, a lot of wrong tenses (spend not spent or surprise not surprised) then revers not reveres.
So I will be reading the next story, but just hoping it is presented better.
