I didn't really care for this book. The best part for me was Harry, Clara's assistant. There was a lot of sex, some BDSM, a lot of sex, but I never really felt the chemistry between Luca and Clara as a couple.

There were many things going on in this book that didn't seem to fit together. Luca crashing through a window. The MMA theme. The confusion for me about whether it was Clara who owned the land, or the university. The mob, Clara's very wealthy family. Then, the murder mystery.

I still don't know why Clara's wealth, or her family's wealth was included. It all was too much and a little confusing. The title threw me off too. Would not have associated it with the actual storyline. I'm assuming the tycoon was Luca. I won't go into any additional detail so that I can avoid spoiler alerts. I recommend you give it a try. Many people really enjoyed it. This one just didn't do much for me.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars easy to read, simple book that combines romance, mafia groups and suspense which is gritty and action packed with drama from start to finish.

The Tycoon’s Baby by Julie Farrell was not my first book by this author and I have to admit I didn’t enjoy this as much as The Billionaire's Kisses: Billionaire Obsession. This book was not exactly what I was expecting as it’s not an obvious baby romance but that being said I did enjoy this book for something different. I found the plot to be a slightly different type of plot for a mafia romance and while there is some violence, it’s not overly graphic if you are squeamish.

Clara and Luca have a clear chemistry that is completely undeniable, despite their differences. I was a little uncomfortable at first with Clara’s aim and wants but soon overcame that and really liked the dynamic of the developing relationship with Luca. The challenge of family vs love crop up, adding further complexities for the couple and everything going on around them. The book is mostly told from Clara’s point of view but does also do odd chapters throughout from Luca’s point of view, giving further understanding of both characters. Secondary characters throughout the book including Harry and Ade added another dimension to the story; I even struggled to figure out the angles of all characters, Ade in particular.

The Tycoon’s Baby is a fast paced, easy to read, simple book that combines romance, mafia groups and suspense which is gritty and action packed with drama from start to finish. I certainly did not see some of the twists the author was going to throw in, which is always a nice surprise! Some characters are from other books by the author and it possibly helps if you have read about them but be assured you do not have to have read them; you can follow along with Luca and Clara’s story to the greater degree. A word of warning, this book does contain some mild F/F, voyeurism/public sexual displays and definitely borders on the more erotica side at times. While I am ok reading it, I’m not the biggest fan of F/F and I know some people will be put off by it as there is no warning whatsoever. Also, while there is a HEA as such for this couple, the book does end on a lingering kind of cliffhanger that is obviously setting up the next book in the series. The only real negative I have is a few small errors here and there (e.g. missing words, letters, grammar) throughout stopped me rating this any higher but not enough to deter me from finishing the book.

Overall, if you enjoy mafia romances, definitely give this book a try for something slightly different!

I received an ARC from the author for an unbiased honest review. The writer’s style is not as well developed as many other authors that I read and the dialogue is somewhat stilted. But the book does move along and has a decent theme to it. That said, it could use a little more editing but it’s still a good read.

This is the continuing series of books about the Quinlan family and features Clara, the lone sister. As you might expect, with Alpha brothers, they think they can run her life. She’s a ‘scholarly type’ and works at a university doing scientific research. Mostly they leave her alone since she isn’t involved in anything remotely dangerous.

She and her assistant, Harry, are doing just fine until someone decides they want to buy the land where she is conducting her research. Enter Luca Romano and his underworld family. The married head of the department dies in the arms of a hooker and Clara becomes gets his job. She finds out that the land can only be sold with her signature and she doesn’t plan to do that any time soon.

Luca is sent by his older brother to seduce her into selling the land to him so that they can develop it into luxury real estate. Upon meeting Clara in a bar, he doesn’t tell her who he is but he definitely knows who she is. What he doesn’t know is that she wants a baby without the ties of a man in her life. Harry thinks Luca is a perfect candidate and encourages her to seduce him and move on.

Clara finds out who Luca really is but can’t seem to stay away from him. Luca plans to get his job done and leave until his brother tells him that he has to marry someone else. And then someone gets murdered and their whole future changes.

A HEA with a bit of a cliff hanger.

Clara is the sister to the Quinlan brothers. She’s working at a University and very engaged in environmental issues. Clara is thrust into a strange situation where he boss dies in a way that will embarrass the university and she is called on to step into his shoes. What she doesn’t know is that there is a lot more than meets the eye and it’s much more dangerous than anyone could have guessed.

Luca is part of a New York “mafia” that has been making a secret deal to buy the land. He has the advantage of knowing who Clara is from the beginning, whereas she’s been blindsided from everything except the research that she has been doing.

This book is a must read in the Quinlan series. It is suspense, romance, and danger all rolled into one. It pushes Clara beyond her comfort zone and finds her on the highest highs and the lowest lows. Yes, Clara gets her wish, she’s pregnant by the end of the book but I don’t want to give this one away because there’s so much more to this book than Clara getting what she knew she wanted. She gets so much more, everything else that she didn't know she was missing too.

Head spinning

The author really did try to pack everything in this one. It starts out with two people who hate each other but are sexually attracted. It then bounces around from exhibitionism at an orgy, to old-fashioned farce, to more sex, followed by murder, followed by sex in a BDSM dungeon, then a way-too-easy bust of the bad guys, more sex and finally the HEA. I'm quite exhausted to be honest.

The Tycoon's Baby is the first book in the hotly-anticipated new 'Tycoon' series by Julie Farrell, & certainly gets the series off to a cracking start.
The story revolves around Clara Quinlan (one of the popular characters from Julie's Billionaire 'Quinlan' family series), & for this new book she becomes intertwined in the lives of the American-Italian Romano family - who are rich, powerful, Mafia-linked & always seem to get what they want.

At the start of the story, we find Clara working as a biologist at a University - conducting important research into life-saving drugs which are cultivated from plants on a big piece of land under her care that is protected by (& connected to) her University's department.
But it seems this attractive piece of real estate is also becoming rather sought-after from the watchful eyes of others' for their shady financial gains, & Clara becomes involved in a power-battle with the warring factions, who could threaten to destroy years of research.

To complicate things further, she gets herself reluctantly involved in a romantic tangle with one of the Romanos - whose powerful family appear to be keen on grabbing her precious land. However, Clara's maternal yearning for a baby kicks-in when romance blossoms with the aforementioned gorgeous, tough & charming Luca Romano - & when he seems to tick all her boxes as potential father material for the baby she would dearly love to have....

Once again Julie has crafted a fast-paced, clever & entertaining story - free of clichés, & packed with intrigue, suspense & real surprises for the reader. The sizzling-hot love scenes (that are such a highlight of Julie's excellent Billionaire series) are plentiful here too & extremely varied & inventive - & are certainly not limited to the bedroom! She really turns the 'love' heat up to the max in this story too - & doesn't hold back!

This is a wonderful start to the series, with plenty to thrill current readers & new readers alike, & a great promise I'm sure of even more red-hot adventures to come.

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation.

We met the alpha Quinlan brothers in the Tycoon Billionaire Series and now we met the only girl in the family who is also just like her brothers. This new series Tycoon Romance looks to be just a great continuation with the Romano brothers.

Clara Quinlan, works in the Life Science department of the Pennsylvania University and may have found a source to help with fighting cancer on the ground of the university, but someone wants the ground to be sold to a development company (seems oil has been found on this land). This lead to the death of her department head and someone trying to kill her and her assistant. At the same time Clara wants to have a baby and wants a smart, intelligent, alpha male but does not need to be in a relationship or marriage.

Luca Romano is a smart, intelligent, alpha male who wants the ground (along with his family, particularly his oldest brother Antonio) for his development company. After his first meeting with Clara the sparks are flying and he wants to be the man she is looking for but he decides he wants more than just a fling. As he continues to see her things start going downhill and he comes to find out about the oil on the land but he also wants Clara to keep the land. Therein lies his dilemma as to whether the land is really what he wants or is Clara what he needs…..

Lust, hot tempers and hot bodies and lots of puzzles…does love win or lose in the end????

*explicit content -Some BDSM elements*
The story is fast paced with a mystery to solve as well as the baby aspect. I really liked Luca. He really grew in this story and you could tell after his meeting with his family he realized what he wanted in life may not coincide with where his brother was leading them. Clara has an agenda, but seems to be going about it in all the wrong ways. I expected more from a strong leading female character as she was described with her upbringing, but she let everyone run over her and claim everything for themselves. There are many sex scenes and I would have liked to have Luca and Clara get to know each other better outside of the bedroom to move their relationship further.

The Tycoon's Baby

Julie Farrell has written a true romantic thriller. The Tycoon's Baby has a shady land deal, dealings with the mob, and murder. It us the story of Luca Romano and Clara. Clara works for a university and is a marine biologists who may have discovered a plant the can help cure cancer. The land the plant grows on belongs to the university. Antonio Romano Luca's brother wants to buy the land. The land also has oil on it and when you add this all together it makes for a very interesting read. The love that Luca and Clara find for each other must wade through all the underlining issues and come out the other side intact. It all started because Clara wanted a baby but didn't want a husband and Luca was just realizing that he didn't want to become his brother. They are two strong characters and have to learn how to trust and love each other. They deal with the murder of Clara's assistant and the attempted kidnapping of Clara. This book is extremely well written and you will enjoy it. Since Clara is a Quilan you also have references to her brothers. A very enticing book.

Clara Quinlan, a university researcher is working on a piece of land, but her work is threatened by a land developer who wants the land. Clara is also single, and she wants a baby; she has no need for a husband, she doesn’t have time to date much. When Clara goes to a bar, a gorgeous man literally falls in her lap, unfortunately she soon learns he’s her enemy: Luca Romano, whom she finds particularly irresistible, is the one after her precious land. However, he could be a solution for a baby…

THE TYCOON’S BABY is a new series, and a spin-off of Julie Farrell’s Tycoon Billionaires series. And this is much more than a romance, as there is a murder, nasty university politics, and lots of action, and many unexpected plot twists; in one case, I was left completely speechless! The characters are particularly interesting, as expected the writing is exceptional; it’s a very fun book. Julie Farrell doesn’t disappoint: THE TYCOON’S BABY is a fine start to a new series.

Clara Quinlan is a lot like her brothers very driven, educated and she knows what she wants. She has been working on land that the University owns conducting experiments but the land may be sold if she will sign the legal documents. Luca is a very sexy and intelligent businessman and when Clara and Luca meet for the first time the electric energy between the two is off the charts. Clara wants a baby but does not want a husband so she is on the lookout for a sperm donor. Luca is a casanova with the ladies and is not looking to settle down any time soon if ever. This story has a bit of everything suspense, humor, romance and sex. Ms. Farrell has a real flair for writing a romance that captivates the reader attention and keeps you reading to the last word only to hope the next book comes out soon. I myself can't wait for her next book and I think once you read this book you will be feeling the same way.

Clara and Luca are combustible. Clara is tough, educated, and trying her best to deal with Luca. He is sexy, and intellectual , who has woman the room notice him. There is no denying the fact that Clara isn't immune to him any woman with a pulse would be but that's the TROUBLE. He's not what she needs in her life right now or is it. Can they work together to reach the goals they each want?? Well knowing how the Quinlan men work you have to know that the woman are just as stubborn as them. These to make a awesome duo. This is my favorite book out of all the Quinlan stories and I seem to be been saying that after the last two brothers (books) Then again I'm loving it for Luca Romano!! This new series is going to be amazing!!!!! They just keep gettting better and better. Grab a drink and some quiet time. You'll appreciate it. I can't wait for Alex book!!!!!

Julie Farrell writes another best seller. The Tycoon's Baby series is getting better and better. Clara is the only girl of the Quinlan brothers. She is working at the University in Pennsylvania in the Life Sciences Department. Clara wants a baby. Harry, her assistant, and her go to a bar near the campus, when she runs into the most amazing looking man. She wants him for his body and his babies. Harry gets a phone call that tells him that he and Clara need to go back to the university. They learn that the head of the department, Stuart, has died. They want Clara to take his place. Stuart had also planned on selling the land that Clara was working on. Clara meets up with the hunk from the bar and life begins to change for Clara. I don't want to spoil the rest of the book, so you will need to read it. It will be worth it.

This was a very steamy story with some twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. Clara Quinlan wanted a baby but not a husband. Luca Romano wants the land that Clara has. Both will stop at nothing to get what they want.

When I read about Luca I agreed with Clara that he wasn’t very likable. As the story progressed Luca grew on me. We got to see other sides to his personality that had me loving him. Clara was getting a lot of stuff thrown at her and expected to just go with it. I felt for her, knowing she was getting a raw deal.

The author had me on the edge of my seat at certain points wondering how it was going to turn out. I love that it’s part of a series, but it is still a stand alone. You see previous characters and a lead into the next book, which leaves me intrigued.

Let me start of with saying I was very disappointed after reading this book. I generally enjoy books with alpha males and BDSM,but this book did not hit the mark. I felt that there were to many components to this book which were both pointless and confusing. Luca's character did not make sense because he was an alpha male who could not stand up to his brother Tony as well as I was very confused with his relationship with Clara's brother Ivan. There were too many things that were left unanswered and too many different points of view in the book. Julie had given this book the wrong title because when you read the book you expect something very different. I am sorry to say this book didn't interest me and I hope Julie Farrel does better next time.

Finally happened. I got to meet the one girl in a family of alpha males. Clara Quinlan as expected is smart, beautiful and has every bit of the in your face, take charge personality as her brothers. She just has her focus on a different arena. Science. That is until Luca Romano enters her life and shakes up that focus. These two were a great match. Go-getting personalities, raised in families that breed contradiction with something to prove. The Tycoon's Baby was a hot bed of innuendos, lust, hot tempers and puzzles but it worked. Kept me interested in learning more. Great start to this series. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

What a great read! This was the first book I've read by this author. It reminded me a lot of the JS Scott and Cali MacKay books that I have read. Luca is from an Italian family and for him family is everything. Clara is a marine biologist at the university who finds herself in a situation when a colleague dies unexpectedly. I loved Luca's cockiness and Clara's feistyness. They were so much fun together. The sex scenes were HOT! There is a story in here too that gets Clara and puts her in trouble. Luca has to decide between Clara or his family. I thought there was a good cast of characters in this story and I look forward to the books about the other brothers!

I was provided an ARC in return for my honest opinion...I tried to like this story I really did I made myself read the whole story in hopes that the characters would give me a reason to root for them a HEA they never did the male lead seemed like a total bully and the female lead seemed like a total pushover who was content to let the people around her push her around my favorite character was Harry who seemed to have the best heart... I won't be continuing this family storyline. But I will give this author another try as I liked the way she handled the background action and the love scenes were nicely done.

A K/U book.

This book was a struggle for me to get through. This book seemed as thought
it was written by someone whose first language isn't English. For this reason, I
can't complain about the grammatical errors.

The storyline started off strong and quickly turned strange. Murder and Mayhem,
Fighting and Threats, Mob Mentality and College Presidents, it just all seemed
unbelievable to me.

There were a couple of good parts of the book. I loved Harry's character. He seemed
like a lot of fun and the kind of friend that everyone needs. Then there was the chemistry
between Lucas and Clara. That seemed really hot and lasted throughout the book.

The Tycoon's Baby: Billionaire Obsession is a fairly short read, a perfect choice for those with limited time for reading. This quick read is a steamy read, so if you don't like your pages curling, this might not be the book for you. The Tycoon's Baby is well written. Clara and Luca's story is full of suspense, action, sizzle and humor. I loved Harry! I enjoyed The Tycoon's Baby and will happily read more from Julie Farrell in the future. The Tycoon's Baby is book 1 in the Tycoon Romance Series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger....but she does throw a little hook out for the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book but I did like it and enjoyed reading it. Bit of a spoiler: Not usually a “mafia” type reader but this particular story really dealt with the relationship between the two main characters, and the “family” was secondary. Clara and Luca are smart and funny; they had ups, downs, intrigue, and a love story that I think surprised them both. LOVED Harry, Clara’s assistant, and his story, even as a secondary character, will knock you right off your feet. Great book – enjoy!

Quite an interesting book on allot of levels!! I found that once I started it was very hard to put down as I didn't want to wait to read what happened next and see how it ended!! I like a main female character like Clara that stands her ground, but then I also love a main male character like Luca who's HOT, ALPHA etc. and also becomes thoughtful, caring and protects the woman he falls in love with. I really loved this book and am "HOOKED". A very good read and I plan on reading the rest of the book in this series by Julie Farrell.

Definitely a must read. A great start to a great series and looking forward to the next book. As always I love a new book and this did not disappoint. I hate giving away details because I want you hooked. I love the one liner in the book when Luca asks Clara what kind of flowers should he send her snitch snatch for the murder it was going to receive and he did not disappoint. I love alpha characters with hard shells and the alpha type women who can beat them at their own game. My 1 disappointment was the lost of a beloved character and hope his memory lives on somehow in the series.

My first story by this author and it won't be my last. Although the story of Clara and Luca is complete, mentioni is made of other characters and deeds from prior books. From hints dropped understand Clara comes from a powerful family as does Luca. For those of us new to this series a little recap would have been nice especially that Luca had a run in with Clara's older brother. The book ends in a crisis for another character that may affect the duo. Overall an intriguing story with the strong characters and great sex. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this book by the auhtor in exchange for an honest review. Another great story by Julie Farrell. The chemistry between Clara and Luca is sizzling. They both want something from the other that neither one of them wants to give up. They come form entirely different family structures which clash. You won't be disappointed with the outcome of this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I really liked the chemistry and therefore conflicts that surrounded Luca and Clara's characters. In life we all have to make difficult decisions concerning work, family and life itself. Julie Farrell does a good job of demonstrating the complexity that is involved with making those decisions through the development of her characters. The intrigue and suspense that surrounded the university land and the people involved will keep you reading till the end. Definitely worth getting.

This book is about as unreal as can be, none of the story would happen in this way were it real. There is murder and mayhem galore, but it is very funny. Not sure I liked any of the characters very much, apart from Harry, but Luca turned into a bit of a sweetheart by the end. Clara was feisty and funny. An easy read for a lazy afternoon.
