One night. No regrets. No repeats. "We said one night only. Too bad I'm a rule breaker." Before I left for the military, I spent one night with Catherine Jackson. That was supposed to be the end... But what if I want it to be the beginning? "I never should have slept with Kyle Richards. He's ruined every other man for me..." I'm trying hard to move on. New job, new fiancé. But will any of it last when Kyle comes back into my life? **One Night Only is a full-length bad boy military romance with a guaranteed happy ending!**
"Gosh darn it." Who in 2015 says that- no one- not even the Na'vi. I have read and enjoyed other books by this author, but this one was a let down. The staring couple, Kyle Richards and Catherine "Cat"Jackson, meet in their senior year of high school; he does not give off 'bad boy' vibes, he's a former football star of his school who is still very popular and one who is trying but failing to get rid of the attentions of his ex-girlfriend. Cat is a new student and because she is insecure, she is uncertain about the sincerity of her acceptance in general and the intent of Kyle in particular especially after witnessing how his ex is hogging all his attention. Suddenly, Cat has a beau and the two double with Kyle and his unshakable ex for senior prom; but in the next sentence, Cat and her beau break up and she and Kyle go to her house to have her virginal one night of unforgettable sex. Five years pass, Cat and Kyle, reunite and remain a couple in the face of all that happens; but they fail as a loving romantic couple because no chemistry is generated due to their lack of interaction other than sex. Aside from the "gosh darn it" statement, the most awing occurrence among many was the author's description of Cat's face, the black protagonist, as turning "white as paper".
3 stars. This was a good story but too long. There were some things that needed to be expounded on more.1) Catherine’s first fiancé, Aiden, was a real piece of work and already had a mistress. Like father, like son. 2) Lana and Kaden and Kaden’s death. I don’t recall any of that in other chapters. Then the threesome in which Kaden was the father and not Kyle…although that is what Lana was saying until paternity test proved different. 3)What set Ryan off? Although when he said Catherine again, he wanted her and not Lana. Then why act like he did? I couldn’t find an explanation for that.
This story features; Catherine, a curvy, sassy, dark-eyed beauty; Kyle, a traffic-stopping gorgeous, charismatic, retired soldier.
What you’ll find in this story; a cast of remarkably impressive and engaging characters, exhilarating story-line, dynamic scene descriptions, phenomenal banter, gripping suspense, gut-wrenching moments, life threatening incidents, betrayal, skyrocketing spine-tingling jaw-dropping sensual romance, and a magical holiday melt your heart conclusion leaving you wanting more.
On high school prom night Catherine and Kyle make a deal to do a tonight only evening of sizzling romance. They part ways for years both never forgetting that night or each other. When they return to their home town and meet each other again, memories of heated passion and buried feelings are unleashed.
INCREDIBLE well written creative read by a truly gifted author. The fusion of authenticity and fantasy make this a most impressive story. The characters spring to life with the exhilarating plot and they are certainly praise worthy. Catherine and Kyle face many emotional obstacles which make them stronger, and the chemistry between them is filled with unwavering devotion. I adored the altruistic persona of both characters. This was a sleep-stealer for me; a true love story, a most gratifying read. If you treasure fantasy romance this is a fabulous addition to your library. {I received a copy of this book for a completely honest review}. In the world of fantasy romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book.
Alyse Zaftig had done it again. Another chart topper book. I have to say that this book really tugged at my heart. Loved how Alyse made this book seem more life like than a fairy tale, but we get the fairy tale ending. This book will make you laugh, cry, and want to beat the other woman's butt. She took a story line and made it come out as if you are reading a real life story. You could feel everything that Catherine and Kyle are feeling as they are trying to find their way to each other. Then you feel the pain and anguish as the third person butts in and tries to pull them apart. Alyse really out did herself with this book.
Catherine Jackson is trying to get on with her life she even has a fiance. It seems that every time she and Kyle try to make it back to each other his ex from high school still does not want to let go. The one night she sleeps with him she knows then that she was ruined to any other man.
Kyle Richards has loved Catherine Jackson since high school and just when he thinks they are getting somewhere, someone always pops in and makes it bad. He sleeps with her and then leaves for the military. He comes back home wonders if there is a chance for him and Catherine.
Can Kyle and Catherine make a go of it? Will they be able to finally lay the past to rest?

Alyse Zaftig happens to be a new-to-me author. And her book Tonight Only also happens to be the first book I read in the BWWM genre. Tonight Only was indeed, a wickedly entertaining and sexy romance! The characters are fun, sexy, and definitely interesting while the story is yummy in ALL the right places! The sex is something else that was beyond good. Hot, sensual, and sometimes sweet, the sex had me squirming and turned on. Heck, if my husband wasn't sick, I would of been ALL over him because the sex was THAT good and I definitely could of used some relief.
Recently I have gotten into military romance because I well, love a hero. And Kyle was definitely a sex-on-a-stick hero with a charming and irresistible personality. Catherine is a beautiful curvy black woman with spirit, sass, and a fun personality of her own. These two click in the best way and everything they did together was HOT! I will definitely be checking out more books in the BWWM genre thanks to Alyse Zaftig.
Tonight Only gets an OUTSTANDING FOUR AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS! Alyse Zaftig is an author to look out for. She writes a beautiful sensual story that is both H-O-T and sweet as hell! A MUST READ BOOK.
Okay so I enjoyed this book for the most part. There was just a lot of WTF moments. This next part includes spoilers, btw. Okay, so I think my first wtf moment was when Aiden just came out about cheating. That was just a little over the top for me. Another would be when the day pushed the button to the wall. I definitely did not except that by far. It was kind of pointless to put that in the book also. It's not like not it was mentioned down the road. Then biggest wtf was when Lana got shot. I'm sorry, but the first thing I thought was "that bi***". It was unnecessary death like Finnick in the Hunger Games. It also came out of no where! After all of this time Ryan wants her back. Why not just stalk her life like any other creep. There is a lot of random things that pop up. I surely didn't expect Johnny, even though he put a nice touch on the story. She should have went more in depth about Kade's and Kyle's friendship.
Truthfully I don't regret reading this book, but it is definitely not worth a second read.
Okay I think maybe I've been reading the wrong story. This was one of the most disjointed story,I mean I felt absolutely nothing for any of the characters in this story.First you have no idea who these people are be you get no description.I mean you only guess at what you think they look like. The series of events that happen in the story are told in a way that you are given the impression that someone is telling you about a series of events.I'm sorry this is not worth any of your time because this was not worth mine.
I had tears, though most of the story, Catherine who was a beautiful girl, thought she was ugly, shy and always jumped to the negative and hid away, without find out what was really happening. Then their is Kyle who who had a ex who keep coming after him, and could not understand why he did not want to still be with her, even after so many years later, he went into arm. But secretly loved Catherine, but with heartache and determination he finally won Catherine's heart. This story is a tear jerker. But so worth reading. I was given this story for a honest review.
"Tonight Only: A BWWM Military Bad Boy Romance" by ALyse Zaftig is my first read by this author and I really liked this book. The premise of the story is that Catherine Jackson and Kyle Richards spent one night together before he left for the military. What sounds like a good idea at the time turns into the both of them not being able to truly move on. When he comes back to town they have unresolved emotions with each other, and having them find their way back to each other is an enjoyable journey.
This is a story about young star crossed love. Catherine is trying to fit in with a new school crowd. She meets Kyle and both are attracted to each other. Enter Lana who wants Kyle for herself and you get trouble. The year is a disaster except for the night of the prom. College follows for Catherine and the military for Kyle. They meet after they return home. Will there lives every join? Will they end up together? I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
There were a lot of great things going on in this story. I liked that Catherine and Kyle found each other again and made amends with Lana. I kind of felt like this story was just a little to fast paced. Things didn't ease into each other it felt like they skipped some. Overall it was great and it had some very sizzling hot scenes that will knock your socks off.
This is not the best book she has written and it had a good story line. The characters needed a little more development. The premise of the book, they have one night together then part ways. They both end up back in their hometown some years down the road and seemingly try to get back together I wont count this author out as I have read other stories by her and they were quite good. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review..
Maybe I have a different picture of what a bad boy is because I did not think Kyle was one. Kyle and Catherine's relationship was adorable. It just took them way too long to get together because she kept running. The book was choppy; did not flow well.
Yes I would recommend this book to others I really liked the storyline cat and Kyle meant to. Be but Ryan her ex boyfriend I didn't see that coming no time soon it was crazy
A lot of detail in the beginning but toward the end things got vague. Did they get married ? Or just living together? There were other questions as well but all in all this wasn't a bad read
I expected so much more from this book. Kyle wasn't a bad boy. I must have missed that chapter. I wanted bada$$ military alpha man, I got regular boy who says "darn it". And Catherine was forgettable.
The story between Kyle and Catherine was sweet. The end felt rushed. Wanted a little more of a completed end. I felt a lot was unanswered. Marriage? Job?
This was very confusing to read the time lapses made no sense (to me) the lack of chemistry... they had one "special" night some time ago .. ugh I just don't get it
