This is for the books that I have read so far but I will continue to add my reviews as I read more of the books!

Captive by Samantha Jacobey

Wow! This is an extremely powerful book that deals with so many emotions and so many difficult topics. I loved the book but it is an emotionally hard read, with everything that is discussed.

Tori is found barely alive and is taken to safety by the FBI who are trying to find out about her past with a dangerous group, the Dragons. While with the Dragons Tori is subjected to many things that make you shudder, yet she is able to escape.

Agent Eli Founder, is trying to help Tori and discover what happened to his former partner when he was working undercover. Yet, he finds himself very attracted to Tori and is confused about all the information he has discovered.

Will Tori be able to move on and find love or will she be another pawn in someone else's game?

Blood is Power by Ella Medler

I read this book as part of The Edge of Madness Set so I unfortunately did not read the 1st book in the series. Had I read that one I'm pretty sure my review would have been a 5, so I highly recommend reading the first one in the series before this one.

Nick Hunter is trying to hunt down and eliminate every person that was involved in crimes against his family after his son was kidnapped and subsequently rescued. Nick begins tracking down people in hopes of finding out who the mastermind was behind everything and why.

The problem for Nick is that he is supposed to be detained by the police in England, but Detective Newton believes that Nick is innocent of what he is being questioned for and is helping him find out the truth. There are still people after Nick and his family and he is running out of time to prove them all innocent and keep them safe.

There was so much mystery in this book and some pretty difficult subjects dealt with. This book is definitely for mature readers only. I think one of the sad parts was to know that some of these things still happen in our culture. The author definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how everything is going to turn out as you really have doubts on whether everyone is going to be ok.

North by Northeast by Cherime MacFarlane

Lori MacGrough has flown to Seattle for an art show when she is taken from her Seattle hotel room and drugged at 3am. Her husband, Hamish, still in Scotland knows that something is wrong through his "sight" and desperately tries to reach her. Unable to do so he flies to Seattle and begins the hunt for her.

With the police not believing the story, Hamish and his former bandmates begin looking for Lori and start heading up through Canada in a quest to get her back, but from who he's not certain.

This was a book full of mystery but also camaraderie. I really enjoyed the relationship between Hamish, Glen, Thud and Lurch and how they all worked together to find Lori.

I felt so bad for Lori when she started figuring out the truth about why she was taken and for how long she had been watched!

A Crystal Snowflake by Holly Barbo

Chayse's friend Orion is on his way to her house with some important information when it looks like he is killed along the way. Chayse and her husband Matt must discover where the secret stop code is hidden for a major computer worm that Orion developed that was stolen from his safety deposit box. Only, they aren't the only ones after the code.

I found the book quite entertaining with all the gadgets that Orion created that helped Chayse and Matt with their quest to find the crystal snowflake. They had to be one step ahead of the bad guy with never knowing who the bad guy even was until the end, when they went after Orion's twin, Asha.

Tropical Nightmares by Kelly Cozzone

Tropical Nightmares is the great conclusion to Tropical Dreams!! In order to understand the story I really recommend reading Tropical Dreams first!

Tiana Alexander and David Murphy have escaped down to St.Lucia, the one place that Tiana feels safe after all of the events from Tropical Dreams. David doesn't feel like they are safe yet as Robert Dubose is still at large and after them.

David is trying to keep Tiana alive with the help of David's mentor and Tiana's godfather, Pete Sampson, yet someone still seems to know all of their moves. That same person seems to be giving Dubose a lot of cash to use to come after David and Tiana.

When Tiana is taken David knows time is running out and will he be able to get Dubose and figure out the mysterious link?

I love the characters in this book and the surprise ending!!

No Caller ID by Ruby West

On Beth Thomas's wedding day, her mother Glenda threatens Beth's husband, Jerome Emerson that he better not hurt Beth. Glenda is a strange lady with supernatural abilities and says she will hurt him if he does anything wrong.

Soon enough Jerome is cheating on Beth with his ex-girlfriend Claudette and loses Beth. That's when everything starts getting out of hand for Jerome and soon life as he knows it will no longer exist.

This book is definitely eerie but for me I didn't like Jerome at all so I was all for all the bad and weird stuff that happened to him! He definitely got caught with his pants down!

This is a great box set that introduced me to some great new to me authors. I started the book from the beginning and here are my reviews of what I have read so far:

Captive by Samantha Jacobey
We meet Tori when she wakes up in the hospital. She has escaped from a biker gang and what she had to endure during her time held captive with them will make you sick. This is a very emotional book and a very dark read, but gripping none the less.
Special Agent Eli Founder is in the room she comes too, and is determined to discover just exactly what has gone on as his partner was undercover within the same gang that Tori escaped from.

Blood is Power by Ella Medler
This one kept me hooked from the get go. Nick is dead set on hunting down everyone who was involved with the kidnapping of his son.
There is a book before this (which I feel I need to read now) that covers more in depth with what happens to his son, and this book focus on Nick trying to prove his innocence to the police whilst hunting down the people who are after his family.
A good book that will keep you hooked praying for the outcome to be what you want it to be.

North by Northeast by Cherime MacFarlane
Lori is in Seattle for an art show when at 3am she is drugged and taken from her hotel room, mean while her husband Hamish is back home in Scotland when a uneasy feeling comes over him about his wife.
He finds it hard to convince the police that anything is wrong, so ropes the help of his old band mates to head to Seattle and find his wife, where they embark on tracking her all the way to Canada!
I really like this story and the mystery surrounding why Lori was taken. The Scottish “accent” of Hamish was laughable though ( and I am Scottish!)
