The integration of electronic engineering, electrical engineering, computer technology and control engineering with mechanical engineering - mechatronics - now forms a crucial part in the design, manufacture and maintenance of a wide range of engineering products and processes. This book provides a clear and comprehensive introduction to the application of electronic control systems in mechanical and electrical engineering. It gives a framework of knowledge that allows engineers and technicians to develop an interdisciplinary understanding and integrated approach to engineering. This second edition has been updated and expanded to provide greater depth of coverage. It is split into five main basic system elements, actuation, system models, basic digital principles, and microprocessor systems. It concludes with a chapter on design, design solutions and case studies.
Key features of second edition provides the mix of skills in mechanical engineering, electronics and computing which are required for students to be able to comprehend and design mechatronics systems enables students to operate and communicate across the range of engineering disciplines increased depth of coverage throughout better coverage of microcontrollers includes chapters on Assembly language and C many more examples and case studies included Mechatronics is essential reading for all HNC/HND and undergraduate students studying mechatronics. It covers the BTEC Mechatronics A and B Units (1413G and 1414G) and also provides the depth of coverage required for undergraduate courses.

I t is a good book, easy to read with simple English. This book is touching up on main areas of mechatronics with few applications, I recommend it for those who are interested in mechatronics.

Wow! I mean, really, WOW. This is a modern classic. Bolton paints a landscape so rich in detail so as to be utterly believable and completely indistinguishable from fact. This work of utmost dedication crescendos with a suspensful chapter on operational amplifiers; I was on the edge of my seat! Bravo Bolton!!
