The tides change for Kira as her life becomes not only more dangerous but more confusing. She learns she might not be fully human and must discover more about her lineage to understand herself and her powers. She confronts her father and her past and learns they have more in common than she ever knew. Meanwhile her powers become more intense, while her visions become more vivid and terrifying. With the help of family and old friends, Kira’s powers grow, and she’s able to save herself, but at a tremendous personal cost. Her boyfriend Pyre, a fire demon, questions and confronts his own past. While he starts to slowly forgive himself for past crimes with the help of Kira and his family, Kira and friends grow concerned over unexplained changes in his behavior. As the present seems brighter and the future more promising, everything he’s worked for is threatened by a new foe. To save her, he sacrifices himself and their future. Protecting the girl he loves has never been harder. Their friend Lowell, a wolf demon also known as Ulric, finds happiness again with the help of his girlfriend Lur. However, he can’t be completely hers until he moves on and forgives himself for what happened to Cadel, the love of his life from his past. Lur must help him figure it out or lose him forever to his dead fiancé. While she struggles to help him deal with his past, she must resolve her own issues with being a human dating a demon, and decide if she can accept the risks and consequences involved. Kira’s Elemental story continues with the present slowly unraveling for Kira and her friends. The past must assist before time runs out and the present is completely lost. Will they succeed in saving their future or will they drown in Water's Reflection?
I majored in English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I studied dance for twelve years, and still love it. I feel strongly about wildlife and environment conservation, animal welfare in general, and issues affecting children, women and senior citizens. I love my family, and my sweet, beautiful dog. I am strongly against hate and discrimination of all kinds. I enjoy a variety of books, but especially enjoyed the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling and the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. All-time favorite authors include Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Emily Dickinson, and Edgar Allen Poe. I have too many favorites to name them all. The Elemental Series is a planned five-book series which will follow the adventures of Kira as she goes to college, encounters demons, confronts evil and finds love. Kira’s story came to me during my first year of college while waiting for class to start. I began to scribble and the next thing I knew I had the beginnings of a story. I continued to imagine what would happen next and wrote bits and pieces in between classes and during work breaks. Once I typed up all the notes, I realized I had enough for a full novel, and ideas for more, resulting in the Elemental Series. I am both blessed and grateful to be following my dream.
I really believe that the story keeps getting better. Also I hope this is not the last book in this series, because I have to hear more about what the future will bring for the group of friends.
This installment centers around the three main characters - Kira, Pyre, and Lowell. Other than a couple of Kira's school friends, the rest of the group, Pyre's sister Eira, Caedmon, Eros, etc. don't really make an appearance until near the very end of the novel. It seemed .
It was nice to see how Kira and Pyre's relationship is evolving, but the romance seemed to bog the overall plot down. I kept waiting to see signs that Kira was learning to control the powers she discovered in the 2nd book, or for the threat her dreams were warning her about. Both appeared in the last six chapters.
This installment is good for readers who are looking for the romance to be in the forefront and the action to be in the background. If the 4th book comes out, I will probably pick it up because I still really like Lowell (and the other two.)
“Water’s Reflection” is an excellent addition to the Elemental series! The story is a fast-paced, well-written paranormal/adventure/romance. Kira’s powers are growing as she struggles to control them. Intriguing new paranormal beings are introduced, and some are terrifying.
This unique world has become increasingly complex and fascinating, with new details like the hierarchies of demon power. Kira and Pyre consider their future together while both fear that they won’t have one; it’s a poignant discussion of love. Philosophical musings on friendship, acceptance, and loss add even greater depth. "Water's Reflection" is a great read for all ages!
This installment continues the saga and we once again are transported into a world of fantasy where the danger is getting darker, the characters must get wiser yet they stay likeable and loveable even. Definitely, start at the beginning and fall in love with these characters!
The author amazes me again with a great writing in this third installment. She has made great efforts to describe everything in detail without losing pace. I have to say this again I like her underlying message which is to wait till marriage and proper age to have a physical relationship. There is again lot of clean romance, action and adventure plus forgiveness and moving on in this book. The characters are well developed and beautifully described. Crystal and a water demon are the villains in this book which keep the plot interesting. I am waiting impatiently for the next book to come out. Great series to enjoy.
Phew I feel like I've been up through the ringer after reading this book. There are so many elements working that I officially have a book hangover. The author's writing is getting so strong and it is flowing beautifully. The characters are getting more complex and the secondary characters are becoming stronger. I'm a big fan of character development and that is why I love series as much as I do. You become deep in their lives and you fall in and out of love with all the characters. I have noticed a improvement especially with the secondary characters.
My favorite character in this book was Lur. She is new to the party but I have a feeling that she may become a major player. I love her carefree attitude and how strong she is. She is sweet and forgiving but isn't afraid to tell Pyre off. I feel like she could be a role model for young women and a great one at that. I hope she sticks around and we continue to learn more about her. I think she plays off of Kira very well. I also noticed a change with Pyre. I'm hoping it doesn't last long because I did not like what I read but I still love his character.
My favorite moment was at the cemetery. It was sweet and just a wonderful moment full of pain and forgiveness. I'm hoping this moment is special for all the readers as it was for me. It brought tears to my eyes and I was sobbing on my Kindle. It will be a moment that will be hard to top. It was special and I will treasure it.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I'm hoping it comes out soon because I'm going to be jonesing for it. I have recommended this series to all my friends and hope to talk about it with them soon.
Could not put this one down.... new characters brought in and things started making more sense and of course I'm obsessed with Prye and his bad boy image
I loved this book! It only made me want more! I can't wait to get the 4th book in this series when it is released... I have to find out what happens to Kira and her friends!
