Jena Jenkins lived an ordinary life. She'd learned the hard way, after nearly losing her life at a young age, that nothing came easy. So she settled for safe and cautious Ted, and a life without love. That is until she comes home one night and finds him dead. Could her life get any worse? She doesn't think so until she bumps into the most arrogant man alive. Erick MacClyne has never met a man he couldn't beat or a woman he couldn't bed, that is until he bumps into Jena. The moment he lays eyes on her his Scottish blood begins to boil. When she balks at his advances, he's thoroughly baffled, but a twist of fate intervenes, forcing them to find a way to bridge their differences and show them that love can blossom in the most unusual places.
It started great but when the going gets tough, all the heroine did was bemoan how tragic her life was. Even when she faced the bad guys its with the secondary character's power. Almost all the characters has to force her to take a step forward because all she wants to do was "poor is me" party. The hero was great though, at least he knows and fights for what he wants. The heroine did not desreved him, in my opinion.
