This is one of the best detailed books I've read on the Appalachian Trail.

I have read around twenty books by people who have transversed the trail. This is by far the most entertaining and informative. The pictures are great and numerous. I was impressed with the positive nature Mr. JENNY wrote the book. There was almost no negative comments about other hikers. He truly seemed to enjoy the hike. The end of the book gave so much useful information to anyone interested in taking this challenge. I enjoyed Bonespur's summation at the end of the book also! Good read for a sixty-five year old wannabe hiker!

A tale of an AT through-hikers Northbound trip on the AT. It has lots of good information that would be helpful for anyone who is planning an AT backpacking trip. Also, it has some really humorous stories and some good “trail humor”, especially appreciated by anyone who has done any backpacking. It was good to hear of the trail magic was encountered and of the great camaraderie that exist amongst the hikers. It is a good read, makes me want to strap on my backpack and hit the trail!!!
