Lon Strickler is a fortean researcher, author and intuitive who writes and mentors on a variety of subjects.

Lon is a resident of Hanover, Pennsylvania. At an early age, Lon realized that he had the ability to sense spiritual energy and found this useful in the field when conducting investigations. Most of his early field work concentrated on spiritual activity at historical locations, in particular the Gettysburg & Antietam battlefields.

In 1981, Lon experienced a "Bigfoot" encounter near Sykesville, MD while fishing on the south branch of the Patapsco River. As a result of the incident, he included cryptids as an important part of his research.

Lon started the 'Phantoms and Monsters' blog in 2005, which has steadily grown in popularity and read daily by thousands of paranormal enthusiasts, investigators and those seeking the truth.

Lon's research has been featured on hundreds of online media sources. Several of these published reports have been presented on various television segments, including The History Channel's 'Ancient Aliens',' Syfy's 'Paranormal Witness', 'Faked or Faked: Paranormal Files,' & Destination America's 'Monsters and Mysteries in America.' As well, he has been interviewed on several radio broadcasts, including multiple guest appearances on 'Coast to Coast AM.' He was also featured on Destination America's 'Monsters and Mysteries in America' television show for 'The Sykesville Monster' episode.

In 2014 Lon and Sean Forker founded 'Arcane Radio' in which they both host with Butch Witkowski.

Creepy, and a little goofy, but entertaining. Lori keeps the reader, enthralled, he has a way with words, and dry humour. Some of the stories are believable., while others are a little far fetched..Would I recommend it?' Yes, if you like the unknown, UFOs. Big Foot, Skin Walkers, Ghosts, this is for you.

“Phantoms and Monsters: Mysterious Encounters,” the fourth book in Lon Strickler’s series, is a compilation of serious and credible eyewitness accounts, and like always, Strickler allows the reader to sort through the tales and decide which to believe. This time, Strickler has saved the more believable and credible accounts for this fourth installment.

The book is divided into sections, including a prologue entitled, “The Eckhart Ordeal.” Other sections include “Cryptid Accounts,” where Bigfoot sightings and encounters are reported from western Pennsylvania, as well as other national paranormal hotspots. “Bizarre Humanoids” detail sightings of reptilian aliens, winged beings, abnormally large birds, and more. “Mysterious Encounters and Events” provide the reader with just that. Like many others, a story called, “The Golden Boy,” will chill the spine.

“Dogman” had landed his own section in the book, though many accounts are not limited to this creature. Other unexplainable canine encounters are reported, including werewolves. In “Perspective: Odd Accounts,” Strickler has left the strangest, most mysterious reports for the end of the book. For many, the subject matter may seem outrageous, but chillingly, the accounts read with credibility. Among them is a report of a hidden alien body, ghost cows, and a crucial account that sheds more light on the theory of Bigfoot’s alleged extraterrestrial origin.

“Mysterious Encounters” is more of a page-turner, rather than the usual presentation of accounts divided between authentic and outrageous. Another hit for Strickler.

Great Read

The book is very well written and the stories are very entertaining.

Even if only a handful of the stories are true, that's enough for a person to question what we know to exist in this world.

Super interesting catalog of Fortean phenomena from witness reports. Extraterrestrial visitors to skinwalkers and everything in between. My first exposure to this author -- will be following his blog and his future work. Recommend for anyone with any interest in paranormal.
