LaShawn Vasser is one of the most consistent storytellers I’ve ever read. When I say consistent, I mean that you can count on her to deliver a quality, well-written story with surprise twists and turns, jaw-dropping moments, sensual romance, and grown folks handling grown folk business! Book 2 brings the pain, the funk, and the noise! I don’t think I’ve yelled, a-ha’d, cooed, booed, and sighed this much during a book in a minute. This story is just so all-encompassing of how a story is supposed to grab and engross you as a reader.

Braylee Hinsdale is probably one of the most relatable female heroines I’ve ever encountered. She adjusts that mask (we grown women tend to don when shit gets thick) and continues to weather these storms in her professional and personal lives with such class and grace, but she’s also a woman who’s so used to being everyone else’s rock, that she doesn’t know when to let go and allow herself to be loved and comforted without being perceived as weak or incapable of “weathering the storm.”

Alex Manchetti is the perfect blend of dashing alpha (sans the asshole factor) and loving brother/uncle. He’s take-charge, but also much attuned to how his actions affect the ones he loves, and that’s what makes him so dreamy. He is Braylee’s rock, her umbrella in the storm, and that is why he’s alright by me.

I hope we haven’t seen the last of this dynamic duo and their family. The door is certainly open for another Manchetti/Hinsdale saga, and Gina Lee Xiou? She needs her own story! Click it up!

This book picks up where book one left off. Gina Lee Xiou was every ounce sexy, menacing, and vulnerable. I loved how she got revenge on her father, it was a classic move. A Perfect Storm had enough action and suspense for me to keeping reading non-stop and the twist was great.

What I really enjoyed about this series is the theme of family and healing. Alexandro Manchetti & Braylee Hinsdale are a devoted couple that put family first. Both main characters have different experiences and upbringings but family is important and dictates their daily actions. Instead of running away from each other’s baggage they support each other making the Manchetti & Hinsdale’s families the perfect blend.

If you like interracial reads with a bit of suspense then check out The Storm Series by this author.

A Very Good Suspenseful Interracial Romance Thriller

A Perfect Storm (The Storm Series Book 2) is a very good suspenseful interracial romance thriller that earned five stars. A successful independent woman meets her match in a strong successful alpha male. They had too survive many obstacles from family and outside forces that made them closer and their love even stronger. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read suspenseful and thrilling romance novels.

This is why I love reading LaShawn Vasser books. When I tell you she do the damn thing she holds no punches!! In this installment we get to see a softer side of Braylee. She still was the hardcore lawyer, but you see her evolved in this book. Now that Gina girl is a trip. She need to stay her crazy behind where she's at. The one thing that I didn't see coming was Nate. That was just to emotional for me. I'm so glad her mother got some help cause I was ready to cut her myself. All in all I'm happy for Braylee and Alex. They deserved their happy ever after!!

If I should compare A Perfect Storm to A Storm is Coming. I would say that, it was twice as good. It started off a little slow ( in my opinion) but the pace picked up quickly. Then it was one friggin' rollercoaster ride of nail biting mystery and suspense. Enough so, that I was glued to my kindle. There were so many unexpected twists that I didn't see coming. A great story of love, deception and power hungry ruthlessness. LaShawn delivered a perfect conclusion. Great job.

I am surprised of how many 5 star reviews there are on this book. I thought the second book fell short. The first book was much better. The first book had much more intensity, with the relationship between Braylee and Alex and the level of violence the family experienced. It was shocking and heart wrenching. In book 2 everything seemed superficial in it's intensity. The exception being the dynamics between Braylee and her mother.

At the end of book one, when Alex opens the door to his Ex, it felt explosive. But, when the scene picked up in book 2, it felt anti-climatic. Again, the intensity was not there. The trip to China too, felt anti-climatic. The most dramatic scene was Braylee, Alex and his niece trying to safely get down the mountain in the storm. The only thing worthwhile that happened was Alex finding out what really happened and why between him and his ex. To me, there was no real point of them going only to turn around and come right back. It was just page fillers...surface no substance.

I also, was let down by the ending. SPOILER...Braylee's water breaks and eight hours later she has a baby. However, the reader does not get to experience any of it. The panicked father, the rushed trip to the hospital, Braylee in labor, Alex by her side, the actual birth, family at the hospital to see the newest arrival. It was just a few words at the end to let the reader know she had a baby. Total missed opportunity to give some substance, to a joyous event.

This was a good read, but could have been so much better. A lot of missed opportunities.

this is a powerful continuation of "a storm is coming", well it arrived in this part and it caused quite some damage on many fronts !!
so many secrets are being dug up and spread around. just when you think they had found their HEA and old flames comes forward and tries to drive them apart. luckily both are strong enough to fight against that, but once the secrets and lies are being untangled things are going from bad to worse.
will everyone make it out alive?
that is the big question because once you think "we had our bad times now" something else happens that has you desperate to keep on reading!

a must read when you loved the first part, the same fast paced feeling to it like the first book, you just get thrown in the deep end and get sucked in from the get go!

“A Perfect Storm” is the PERFECT sequel to “A Storm is Coming”. There were many surprises/secrets that are revealed in this follow-up. Character Chemistry was on point as usual in a LaShawn Vasser book. Another thing that intrigues me about LaShawn’s writing is the fact that she is not afraid to take risks with her writing. The old saying that you don’t get to choose your family, rings loud and clear in book one and two of this series. No SPOILERS in my review, but I cannot resist revealing that I’m hoping that there will be a spinoff for a certain couple that I would love to read more about. This is another great job of writing as usual from a very talented and gifted author.

A Perfect Storm is definitely a must read!

LaShawn Vasser is one of the best IR writers on the market today. As always she hooks you into her stories and has you so throughly engrossed that you never want it to end! Finally Braylee and Alex get their Happily Ever After, but not before all sorts of drama ensues. Characters from one of LaShawn's other novels makes a cameo appearance it was awesome! Loved this book and I know you'll love it too! LaShawn you are da bomb and I can't wait for your next story to take me away from this thing called life, even for just a little while!

My favorite genre in the whole, wide world is suspense. That beings said, Ms. Vasser exceeded my expectations in the action department and then some. Explosions, murder and a cold hearted female had me power reading each page.
Now, suspense with a side of romance is always a great recipe. That being said, Alex's love for Braylee brought A Perfect Storm to life. There were heartwarming moments and some very sad ones that will have you invested in the storyline so pick up your copy today!

A Perfect Storm

Braylee and Alex's story continues in A Perfect Storm. I read it in one day. I had to know who Gina was and how much of a hold, if any, she had on Alex. Gina kept me on my toes and had me turning the pages at lightening speed. Braylee and Alex had me smiling. I also liked that the author didn't shy away from dealing with real issues, the scene with Braylee's mom and the secret that was revealed about her mother's past was very powerful. It showed that damaged people will hurt others and that some damaged people want to stop the cycle of pain, but don't know how. I don't know what else I can say, but I enjoyed the story and wish this book was a movie. Oh, I almost forgot, Stephanie and Fabi need their own story. LaShawn, please give these two their own story.

This was really good and I am glad that Alex and Braylee got their HEA. Even her sister, Stephanie got a nice ending, too. This was all about family and choices. That Gina is something else! I am now going to read Gina's story. This book showed a bit of Gina's past and she is one tough cookie! Great read!

I am very pleased!

Gina is one bad female. She takes no prisoners and her father was a heartless individual. That's a big wow. I really want to know more of Stephanie and Fabi get together/relationship.

So Good

This was definitely drama, mystery and romance done so well and great execution. The chemistry with Braylee and Alex is so sexy that you feel the heat from the pages. This is story with a great deal of adventure happening and its done well that don't realize you are in the middle a whodunit and throw in corporate espionage and we have a party. This is such a good story not only what's happening with their jobs, but what we get to see of there family life that has shaped them into the people they are.I love that Braylee is so take charge and kick butt, girl power!Such a good follow-up to a exciting series and so well written.I love when a writer gets it right and does it right.
