Book 4 Montana Luck
The good folks of Echo Valley rejoice in new acquaintances, newly weds and new born babies. Our Irish rogue feels the need for a woman's help in raising his son, and places an advertisement for his own mail order bride. Our brothers from the dark side both seem to have had a change in heart, it might be the young ladies that have captured their hearts. Yes, like any other town, there is the baser side of human existence, but the good folks try to help those affected by other careless and callous ways.
Book 5 Montana Fire
When Thad, Echo's resident bounty hunter, ended up with three adopted kids, he knew he needed a woman to take the rough edges off. So, yes, he resorted to a mail order bride. This episode is, as all the others, not just a couple, but the whole of the inhabitants of Echo. A very relatable episode.
Book 6 Montana Hearts
Wild Wind hadn't wanted thought of a bride for himself, until he had established himself. Then he tried to follow up on his attraction for the new female preacher, but the difference in religious beliefs put a barrier between them. Then Roxie came out and made her interest clear. However, the township had a couple of other problems, and the drama, although hectic at times, showed what bigotry and racial prejudices could cause so much strife.
I wanted to like this series and made it to book 6, but really, how many inaccuracies can one take? First, the setting is a small Montana town on the verge of becoming a ghost town yet in every wedding the men are able to deck out in tuxedos. The time period is supposed to come the early 1890’s, but the author writes about Native Americans being forced onto reservations, which happened about 40 years earlier. The final straw for me came when the author writes about “Molotov cocktails” being thrown to burn one of the characters out of his home. This incendiary device was named after Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, a Soviet politician who was born in 1890. The device wasn’t created until the early days of WWII. Just where did these folks in a horse and buggy town obtain the ingredients for a bomber that hadn’t been invented yet?
I have now read quite a few of Linda's books and while I still wish they had better editing, I really enjoy them. The storylines are good. The characters have depth, and I like that each book can stand alone even though I do get a little impatient with the snippets of back story that are needed to inform the reader who may be coming into the middle of the series. The variety of personal and societal issues that are dealt with is also refreshing and keep the stories from becoming monotonous. Thank you for another great series, so far.
I have fallen in love with Linda’s Echo Canyon brides. I have enjoyed the first 6 books in the series and I am itching to start the next set. I enjoy her romance, the setting in the late 1800s, and that they are clean reads. I am glad the residents are finding their true loves but I don’t really have to read all the intimate sex scenes to know what transpires, therefore I love that her characters get to that point and she lets your mind know what happens without having to put it in words.
I loved the concept of the books, mostly male community and mail order brides. Each little love story was so unique, showing the strengths of men and women. I was impressed on her handling of the Native Americans in the book, their traditions are often not discussed among not Natives. I loved how the town pulled together for every occasion, and had it's tiffs and camaraderie. If the books had any faults, and it could just be me, I thought Lucky sounded more like a Scot than an Irishman. I loved all the quirky characters, and their community spirit.
This was a very lifelike series and I really enjoyed reading your story’s and looking forward to reading the next installment of this series! You did a masterful job of how prejudice & hate can be hurtful and how love can overcome all, and how being willful can hurt both parties, and how understanding can bring two harts back together. This was very enjoyable to read so nice job!
I liked issues 1-3. If I like a book or series I see the book to the end. When I was half way through book #2 I finally got into it and had to read #3. That brought me to book #4 . Now I was totally hooked. Book numbers 5-6 where great. Now it is on to #'s 7-9. There are so many twists and turns in each book. Each one is better than the one before. I can't stop reading Ms. Bridey's books because there are subplots that I have never read in a book. Enjoy
All of these books shared very poignant stories of some of the histories of our ancestors. The struggles of learning to live a different life than the one they were born into and realizing that God is their hope and refuge. Thank you for giving us insightful, inspirational literature to give us the same hope and faith in our own journey in this life. Truly enjoyable!
Just like the last box set, I totally loved this one! Linda writes the most awesome and individual characters. You can't help but fall in love with every hero and heroine. They are each so different that I couldn't even begin to pick just one favorite! If you haven't tried any of her books yet, you're missing out, check one out today! You won't be sorry!!!!
I love the way we still read about the characters from all the previous books and are introduced to new ones. Linda Bridge is a great writer and I am amazed at all of the stories she continues to entertain us with. She makes me feel like I am reading about old friends. I would recommend her to everyone. You too could be lost in the world of mail order brides.
Each book is articulate, descriptive and written with style and class. Linda Bridey didn't have any trouble depicting strong, courageous characters, with excellent plots and storylines. The "family" from Echo keeps growing and interacting with each other in such a wonderful, amazing way that I would like to live there. Love this series.
Leah and Lucky, Jessie and Thad along with Roxie and Wild Wind are the main three couples in this 3 book box set in the series.
All three romances are typical of the series with a few notable differences here and there.
All three stories encompass a range of emotions that bring the reader closer to the characters portrayed and make them real in many ways so they are easier to relate to.
I love reading these books! The characters are amazing and so real. As you read you actually travel through the characters lives sharing their happy loving times and shed a few tears when heartache or bad things happen. Beautifully written and I definitely recommend reading this book!
Fairly good stories, too many characters to keep up with. Full of grammatical errors. Needs a good edit. Also, many anachronisms. In 1890, tuxedos and paper matchbooks were probably not found in Wyoming. And Molotov cocktails were unheard of until after the 20th Century. Just to mention a few. Otherwise, a lot of romance and children.
These were really three great stories. Families living in Echo, Montana. Some were white and a few were Indian. Most of the Indians had been driven to the reservation , but some had escaped in were living in Echo. This tells of the different families, how they became a family, and the troubles they encountered. Enjoy the journey.
Echo was the home of a diverse group of people whose lives were intertwined in intricate ways. Each resident has endearing qualities, yet the are fiercely loyal to their own families and friends. Each person has endearing qualities and faults that make them come alive for the reader. It has been a pleasure to read the works of this talented author.
This series just continues to get better and better. All new characters meld really well with the characters from the first books of the series. Don't want to put down and can't wait for next set. Enjoy!
I read incessantly. I have up trying to follow the characters in the first book of the set. There were so many issues with so many characters that I finally gave up. Too bad because several of the issues in a story line might have been entertaining.
I am so enjoying this series. Loving the characters and how they grow through the stories. And I absolutely adore Sugar and her sweaters. lol There is sadness, gladness, hatred, love, racism, acceptance. Such a variety of emotions and situations.
Love this series! Such well developed characters and plotline, you feel they are so real, you could visit them and Echo on vacation! Can't wait to gopn! Great read!
Great, exciting stories, but what centuries are they from? Some parts sound like they are from a few decades ago. Other seam to be from the 1870's . While others seam to be from the early 1800's ?
Linda Bridea knows how to create the perfect man. They cook, crochet, play the piano and sing. I am in love with each one. The women are strong and do not take a back seat to their me. I love the Echo sries
This box set is worth reading and it was informative, exciting, and thrilling!!! Reading the history of prejudice between different races and cultures is still sad today.
This continues the story of Echo Canyon and the search for brides. I love these books. They are a breath of fresh air. Each guy or lady can be stubborn but they come together at the end.
Endearing continuation of the series. Characters more fully developed, stories more rounded out. Love that many characters aren't typical (ie. African Americans, Indians, and deaf) and are shown as positive, realistic folk. Especially enjoyed Otto, Lucky. Wild Wind and Thad. Good read.
The books kept your interest. Would like to read the next set but not able to get. Sometimes I got the characters confused but then figured it out. Very good story.
I After a slow start, I am thoroughly enjoying this series as much as I did the "Montana Mail-Order Brides". The story keeps unfolding and I don't want to put it down! I would definitely recommend both series.
Really enjoy this series but the typos drive me nuts. And there are a lot! I listen to my books in kindle app and those grammar mistakes are just too much! Make sure you read these in order.
I have lost sleep reading this series. Its so very good. So much detail and interesting story line. Loved the tiki in the final book. Highly recommend reading this seriies
I really enjoyed reading this good early American western series. It is a great bargain bundle. The characters are all interesting and very believable. With a lot of sweet romance, action and adventure you get great entertainment.
