" Unwanted Baby for Christmas " is a standalone steamy romance with HEA.
One foolish mistake results in an unplanned surprise...
Melanie Quin's life has been systematically spiraling out of control ever since the night she accompanied her roommate to a local hot spot. After a few too many drinks, she found herself in the back of billionaire Matthew Chase's limousine where a steamy hook-up left her unexpectedly pregnant. His striking good looks and mesmerizing smile had proved too hard to resist, and now she's paying a life-altering price. When she learns the man isn't even who he claimed to be, she's determined to avoid him at all costs. He makes it perfectly clear that the feeling is quite mutual!
Things go from bad to worse when she witnesses a murder. Melanie manages to escape, but she's seen the assailant's face. Fearing she'll identify him, the murderer vows to come back for her. Now her life is not only in danger, but the life of her unborn baby as well! Out of desperation, she seeks out the same billionaire who knocked her up and attempts to blackmail him into providing protection.
Will Matthew Chase offer the frightened young woman refuge? Will she fight the feelings she's beginning to develop for the affluent billionaire who's much more than he appears?
This is my second story by this author. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited.
When I read Fake Date with the Billionaire by this author I decided I would read her author stories because I enjoyed her style of writing. Well When I read the sampler for this story I thought I have to read this just to see how it works out. The story was jaw dropping. When the first twist hit I was sooo shocked because I was not expecting that to happen and from then on I was hooked. I read the book in one sitting. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book as a good read.
Why oh why must the woman character be so broke or have no post high school education be the billionaire choice. I know this is fantasy. However this type of story line is getting old.
This book was one cliche after another, it didn't seem to be well thought out. This book was more like several different ideas put together to make a book, instead of developing one idea and expounding upon that.
Ms. Rivers has done it again. What started as a quick sexual act turned into family and love. Chase/Matthew was looking for a quick sexual fix when Melanie decided to go along for the ride. Mel and her best friend have a break-in at their apartment. Mel and Roxy, her best friend, go to protect their place. Roxy was killed in the break-in. Mel packed up and Roxy's dad came for her things. Mr. Chanda, Roxy's dad told Mel to take whatever she wanted of Roxy's things. Mel chose a small blue vase Roxy had made. Mel doesn't know that the vase is what the murderer is after. Mel move in with parents while looking for somewhere to live. Mel is pregnant and scared. When Mel's New home gets broken into she goes to Chase for help. Chase has excepted that Mel is carrying his child and has told his fiancee. Chase is willing to provide security and a job as a cook. Problem. Mel is not much of a cook. When things progess between Mel and Chase so that g et along well
This was much better than I thought it would be. The introduction of Chase hooking up with Mel was far from romantic or a love connection. Chase seemed cold, mean and entitled when we first met him and again when Mel confronted him in his office. But with Mel living with him and getting to know him we saw the real Chase and that one was definitely a keeper. Chase and Mel developed the perfect friendship which easily developed into them falling in love with each other. I'm glad they became a happy couple ready to have their Christmas baby. Good
Great read. Filled with angst, terror and love. Loved both Melanie and Chase’s (Matthew) characters. He was a real jerk most of the book. Mel loved her friend Roxy, but Roxy got into something, unknowingly, and it didn’t go well. Chase and Mel’s story does have a happy ending. Annabelle, Chase’s finance is almost non-existent but pops up a couple of times…especially when their engagement is called off and she goes quietly. Did he pay her off? A must read. The right mixture of friendship, unknowns, terror and love to keep you reading!
Not great but not terrible either. Not too crazy about the H, Melanie. A little too stupid and weak for me. That nasty roll in the vehicle with a complete stranger ticked me off. Her lies by omission and taunt to those thugs that put everyone in danger...reckless & dumb. I couldn't like her. But the overall plot and the resolution kept my interest and the H..Matt grows on you as he steps up to the plate big time.
4-stars, this book is two-layered, romance meets mystery, you had to figure out, what was in the vase?, and who was financing who . Mel, Annabelle, and Chase. Also, the guy on the cover is a brunette, but the Chase was a blonde. But a good story nevertheless. I liked the storyline though even in the confusion, I would still recommend this book. I only wished, we could've met Nicholas.
I've read other books by this author and they were great but this book wasn't bad neither great. Hence my rating. Everything was a little rushed for me and I would have loved to hear the thoughts of Chase. Good story but not Ms Rivers' best
I couldn't put it down until I finished it but I wanted a little more at the end of the book. It needed just a little more to complete the romantic story.
I really enjoyed this book. The banter between the characters is awesome! The way he is so demanding and she just gives in is amazing. The suspense was thrilling. Great job Ms. Rivers! Keep writing and I'll keep reading!
This Is a emotional and very suspenseful story. I really enjoyed the characters, their relationship is drama filled with sizzling hot passion and surprise romance but it's believable, but that's what I enjoy about this story.
So much for juvenile writers. Baby mama drama in various versions is disgusting. Writer should read their manuscripts before publication and read established writers so that they don't pass junk as literature.
What a lovely surprise! Engaging from beginning to end. Kept me on the edge of my seat. A really good read that I will probably read a couple of times!
Chase was a true Alpha male he was strong and didn't take No as an answer. Mel was a shy young lady who knew how to get into trouble but knew she needed love.
when i started to read this book, I thought in the beginning, Chase was a real D---H--- and there was no way for him to be worthy of Mel. So, stick with it and you will enjoy!
Melanie was a strong woman who would do anything to protect her baby; even, go to the douche of a father and blackmail him for security and protection. Michael Chase was a douche in the beginning and that understandable because he is a very wealthy man and he cannot trust every woman that appears to him and say i'm pregnant and your the father. But he eventually step up and take care of his child and Mel. It was worth the read. I could not remember being any errors in the grammar. But i did not like the unknown at the end. One more chapter or epilogue would have been good to wrap everything up.
You immediately fall in love with Chase even though he first comes off as rich and entitled. Mel is a nobody who is lovable and a little naive bookstore. You immediately root for her and you are drawn into the journey of Chase and Mel falling in love. Great read.
Unwanted baby. OMG! I thought this book was going to be stale. I really enjoyed the suspense that came in the book. I started out not liking Chase only for him to be the good guy. He only played the role of bad boy/player. He needed someone in his life to care for him and him to take care of and that was Mel. He protects Mel and their baby from the Russian mafia.
I don't know what happened between "The Fake Girlfriend" and this book but I'm clearly confused. I had to check to see if it was the same author who wrote this. The H/h are a couple of idiots who belong on the Jerry Springer Show. I can't finish it. I hope Ms. River's other works are better than this.
I enjoyed reading this in a afternoon. He was a total jerk to her in the beginning. I really wanted to know what all happened to everyone in the end. Still a good story.
I like this book. Great job with the story line, different than the normal stuff written. If your looking for something that's funny and sexy try this.
