THE RACHEL PLUMMER NARRATIVE: A stirring narrative of adventure, hardship and privation in the early days of Texas, depicting struggles with the Indians and other Adventures,
These two narratives give a first-hand account of the massacre of Fort Parker, and the subsequent abduction of Rachel Plummer and her child along with others. The book describes in detail the great dangers and perilous times of the pioneering days and the settlement of America.
I’d give this book 5 stars if 1/3 of the book was not James W Parker’s account on the geography and politics of mid 1800 Texas. If you decide to read. Read the beginning chapter and last chapter.
