In 2015, Indonesia developed into the largest democratic country with the biggest Moslem population. Compared with all countries which majority population is Moslem, Indonesia is the most advanced one. Democratic index report from Economist Intelligent Index 2014 showed Indonesia is at rank 49. is is the highest rank compared with other countries with Majority Moslem population such as Turkey (rank 98), Malaysia (rank 65), Pakistan (rank 108) and Mali (rank 83). Will Indonesia become the successful laboratory of Moslem population in applying democracy and become the model that will be the example for other Moslem countries? is is a very important as well as sexy research subject for the democratic study in the future. In this research, I will touch one dimension only from that big picture, on the social origin causing the democratization of Indonesia. Moslem variable is not yet to be explored.
From the causes that ignite this democratic transition, Indonesia’s pattern can be one of the road maps for other Moslem countries to transform themselves from the present condition. is book is my dissertation in achieving my Ph.D from Ohio State University, Columbus, United States of America in 2001. I deliberately present this dissertation in complete format as the record of events and theoretical debate developing at that time, which do not updated by the data and theory developed lately. is is the academic portrait in its era.

In 2014, he was awarded by Twitter Inc. as The World No 2 Golden Tweet 2014, and the No 1 in Indonesia. He was also awarded by MURI as the first and the only political consultant in the world helping and winning presidential election three times in a row. In his case, the presidential elections he was involved were in Indonesia in 2004, 2009, and 2014. In the same year, he was chosen as one of 33 the most influential literature figures in Indonesian history by a team of eight (a team of prominent poets, critics and academicians). Denny JA is also known as a social activist promoting and campaigning non-discrimination movement and funding this movement by his own money after he is successful as a businessman.
