Escape From Avoria

Rate this book
New Release Sales Price! Limited time only!

Bits and pieces of Nani's shattered memory begin to return
and she learns that her task of restoring the six Pillars is not as simple as she had hoped.

The broken Pillars are scattered across the world, and Nani and Tai realize their quest will take them out of the Border Mountains and far beyond the province of Avoria. They and their friends seek refuge in the hidden Mari Kai village of Talaris and search for a way across the border and into the nearby province of Bayrudaal.

Can they piece together enough of Nani's memories to make sense of the world around them and discover who their true enemies are? What affect will the Pillar of Light have on Alexi? Should the B'nli fear the people of Bayrudaal, or seek their aid?

Nani must embrace her past and Escape From Avoria or watch as her enemies drag the world of Milana deeper and deeper into the shadow of darkness.

The Milana Legends are a Christian Fiction Fantasy Adventure series and are considered middle grade young adult fiction (that's similar to saying the movie Frozen was PG).

I love to write about fantastic worlds where young characters choose to place a high value on courage, loyalty, freedom, and faith.

One day. Just one day...and I've raced through the first two delicious books in one gulp. They were wonderful. I NEED book #3 (and 4 and 5 and 6!) It's 2 am; should I start rereading?

Suspenseful sequel to the Pillar of Light

I liked Escape from Avoria even more than The Pillar of Light. Although there were some typos and awkward spot, like in the first book, this book was somewhat better written and had fewer of each of those. The story line seemed to flow better than in the first novel, as well, and there were a lot of questions that were filled in, as the plot unfolded.

Things made more sense to both the reader and the characters of the Milana series as Nani slowly recovered more of her memory. The connection between her and her sar, Tai, increased, along with their ability to use their powers. We begin to see the effects of the Pillar of Light on Nani’s friend Alexi. And we can better understand the role of the Val Dinia to her people.

It was interesting to see the various reactions of people along their journey, as Nani and her friends encountered them in their effort to leave Avoria and the threat of the Hunters and the Tarn. The action comes to such a dramatic and suspenseful crescendo, I could hardly stand to put the book down. But then stops rather abruptly.

Nevertheless, I can’t wait to read the next novel in the series to see how things go for Nani and her friends with the Breathless ones!

4.5 Stars.

Once again Travis created a great and exciting story that was also clean and wholesome fun that I would recommend to all ages.

The second book to The Milana Legends series was definitely not a disappointment after the first! This book was also fast paced and creative. Here in this book you meet new characters and discover more of Nani's secrets and past. I finished this book in a flash and was unable to stop myself from immediately picking up the third. Once I started I found that I couldn't put it down! This book was shorter than the first, though, as I said before, I am currently a college student and don't have a whole lot of time to read, so I really enjoyed this about the book.

This book explores new ideas and leaves you hungry for more information and character development, but in the best possible way! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and watching them grow more through this second book. They are changing and developing nicely which is hard to keep consistent in most stories!

Again, there were a lot of grammatical mistakes, so only 4.5 stars, but honestly I really stopped caring about them once I got into the story.

Happy reading, and I hope you enjoy the books as much as I did!

Next in line and still reading

I was excitingly expecting this in my reader as I pre-ordered it. I was not disappointed. As the group now continues their quest. Their enemies are getting more fierce and more desperate. The group keeps going. Trying to complete the next step. The plot keeps going and does not lag abit. This is such a wonderful read. Can't wait for the next one.

Rounds out the story beautifully from the first book. It showcases how the people of Avoria have been lied to all of their lives. It also has good character development, and has a further chance to showcase handling to a further extent.

The quest continues and the plot thickens. I think what I love most about Anna Travis' books is the growth in characters. Some books leave their characters in much the same way we found them in book one. I have never once found this true about Anna Travis. I love watching these characters mature as they face trails and hardships. I enjoy seeing their friendships deepen.

I also love the way Anna writes themes in her books. Without even realizing I'm being taught, Anna wove one of my favorite Bible verses into book two: Micah 6:8. This verse if SO convicting! Such simply tings God asks of us, yet we struggle to do them. I love how this has become a motto for the B'nli and I cannot wait to see how they live up to it!

This was not a christian science fiction as it was labeled

The only thing christian in this that I could find were the parents of Nani. They were not very successful missionaries and were going to resign after five years of working to help a small village near them with no results other than to set a broken bone or mend medical needs a few times.
Until ten year old Nani was dropped off by a stranger. She came to them bound, in ragged clothes, and and undernourished. For the next ten years the village accepted the new "family". Nani had no memories of any kind.

This book well written and executed but not Christian. It's a good clean science fiction just take out the label.

Great prequel to the first book!

Nani and her gang must continue their quest to return home... only as obstacles start appearing in their way, they will discover that doing so won't be as easy as they had hoped.
