I was really looking forward to this concluding part of September and Jesse's journey and I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint.
I loved September in Sins of September, she loved Jesse and she did what ever she had to do to get him, however the reality that taboo relationship and with the added reappearance of her mother she tries to do the right thing and pulls away. I did miss the old September game playing but if things were going to work for these two people she needed to mature and in this second book you see that.
The best thing for me reading this, was that I got to climb in side Jesse's head. I loved the addition of the duo point of view, Jesse understandably had misgivings about him and September but he's also changed in this second part of their love story, he loves this woman and he's set to fight for that. I loved how the author writes Jesse he's a real man who loves his family, I defiantly felt more of a connection to him in this book and can understand how September could love him, (I've got a bit of a crush myself.)
This was a great series for me, some people may find the taboo of there relationship too much and I was one but I took a chance and found a wonderful read.

I was so happy to hear that we were receiving a conclusion to the slightly taboo, Sins of September, because I honestly needed to see that our h, September, was going to be alright. I was truly invested in her character after the first book partly because of her young age and naiveté, but mostly because of her dream of a perfect life that was, quite literally, crushed by her own reality. What I got surprised me because, not only did I love the h in this book, but I also grew to love the H just as much, possibly even more.

When September Ends is a beautiful story that makes you believe in love that comes in all forms and not just the “traditional” and “politically correct” that our society focuses on and praises. This book is not about hearts and flowers, but the ugly truth that surrounds real life love. And, in that emotional rawness, you cannot help but recognize and appreciate the beauty between the two main characters. There is such growth and acceptance in the h and H it is amazing and truly made this book memorable for me.

The conclusion of this series could not have been better and left me feeling complete. Thank you for another amazing read, Andrea! You have truly shown us your depth of character creation and superb writing prowess.

3.75 Relationship Status: Complicated Stars

Warning: This is the sequel to Sins of September. Don't read this one without reading the first one first.

So lets recap: September is in love with her stepfather. They have been in a relationship for the better part of her senior year. In high school. Yep...cue the taboo. So how is September free to have this relationship with her not-that-old stepfather? Her mom disappeared years ago. But now....she's back.

In this one, September learns that you reap what you sow. September used some pretty underhanded and tricky plays to get what she wanted. Now she understands karma.

September is trying to grow up. Trying to move on with her life. Make good choices. Be mature. But that doesn't always work.

I have to tell you, September is hard to like. She is pings between whinny and bitchy. There are times you want to feel sorry for her, but is hard to muster up much sympathy.

I do feel for Jesse. He is a nice guy who has been manipulated by everyone. His wife, his stepdaughter, his neighbor, his in laws. I wanted to think he was a doofus. But I liked him too much.

I didn't really if September got her HEA, but I wanted Jesse to get his. Does that mean September or someone else?

1.5 'what a fucking mess' stars

The whole thing was like an episode of Jerry Springer, and not the good kind. Nope. The kind were you're cringing all the way through and thanking God you live nowhere near those crazy ass weirdos.

Every single female in the book is a raving mad conniving bitch.

The main man can't think past his dick.

And September, well, she can just description
Yep, seriously.

I dived straight into this after the cliffhanger at the end of the first book. The first book was a smut-tastic read but lacking in romance, this one was lacking in smut too.

This time we got alternating first person pov and that helped to make Jesse a more vivid character and that helped to pull this one back from the brink and kept me reading I think because September seemed to regress, running away and going into sulks. Now I pride myself on my sulking abilities, but even I know that, if you're sulking, you need to make sure everyone knows why. September spent a good chunk of this story sulking and even when she's narrating, she wasn't able to say why. Drove me completely nuts.

September and Jesse's love is tested even further in this book thanks to a return of a figure from their past. There was also the constant presence of Casey - the bunny boiler neighbour Jesse poked on the sofa then promptly dumped - sticking her oar in and trying to come between them whenever she can. The intervention of these characters, along with the interfering presence of September's highly religious grandparents really drove the narrative along and created lots of dramatic tension and angsty feels that were missing from the first book. It felt to me like September's sulking on top of all that was a shade too much; it seemed to prolong the story unnecessarily and I wouldn't have minded a shorter story or a longer epilogue instead of all of that extended sulking. At least Jesse had finally located his big boy pants and was acting like the grown up this time, so that was much better.

There's more story and much less smut in this, but what there is is hot. Thankfully, Jesse has ceased comparing September to her mum when he's shagging her too, so that made for a welcome change.

I've enjoyed this series, it's definitely worth a read.

Enjoyable but understandable.

Now as I recapped both books I realised I couldn't remember it and now I've actually gotten to reread them both I've really grasped onto the story as I should. Take time and enjoy it or take time to see the outcome of it

Now I wasn't too keen on the age gap or too keen with how September is but I totally took it and how it should be viewed.

Love.

September was maybe conniving and young I won't lie but Jesse also didn't help and in that ending of book , I knew that what September decided to do I commended her for it and yes I started to hope more from her. The story may have started in a way I tried not to judge but I knew while reading and understanding both September and Jesse's POV I just wished for their HEA. Although I wished for more POV of Jesse, however that ending was my closure.

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when the one you love walks away? What happens between Jesse and September? Do they work it out or will the outside interference cause them to give it all up?

You will get all the answers to these question when you read this great love story. We see Jesse fight for the love and life he has with September. We see him realize exactly what he needs to do to make things right. We see September grow and mature in a way that will have you loving her even more. We see them struggle to come to terms with their feelings for one another. They go through some major ups and downs, but is their love strong enough to have them come out on the other side stronger and together? You will have to read to find out. You will definitely love this story.

Sins of September (September #1) & When September Ends (September #2) by Andrea Smith writing as Graysen Blue
3.5 stars!!

“...the truth is she is mine. I’ve claimed her; I’ve marked her, hell I’ve fuckin’ imprinted on her if you want to know the truth. September does belong to me, in every possible way.”

This is one of those series that is hard to review, the subject matter is not for everyone but personally I felt the way that the story was delivered was not on the gross side of uncomfortable, it was honest and a situation that I can see many families finds themselves in. There were a few lines that had my stomach churning and I felt should have been left out, but other than that I really enjoyed this series.

September had to grow up fast. Her real dad had never really been on the scene and September’s mum had married a man a lot younger when September was 5, his name was Jesse and they eventually had a daughter too. September’s mum was a waste of space and oxygen, she should never have been a parent, she was extremely selfish and this hit the extreme when she upped and left leaving September and her little sister with Jesse, she didn’t even have the guts to face Jesse herself, she left that to September too. They managed to cope for a while but it soon becomes clear that it is not working so Jesse leaves September with her maternal grandparents thinking it was for the best.

September felt as if she had been abandoned once again and herein lays the crux of her issues, everyone she has loved has left. September is a gifted student and as she hits her late teens the raging hormones take over and she develops into a beautiful young woman. As we grow older, we all develop fantasies of our ideal man and for September that man is Jesse. She idolises him, despite the feeling of abandonment and in her teenage brain she has him firmly set on a pedestal. They have kept in touch and she still sees him on and off with her sister and these feelings have only progressed and strengthened through the years.

“...but maybe someday he will finally see
How he broke my heart when he set me free...”

One summer when September is fast approaching eighteen, Jesse asks if she could come and look after her sister during the summer holidays as he will be working out of town for long stretches at a time. September jumps at the chance, not only to spend time with her sister but also to see the man that she loves and idolises. September throws herself into “wifely” duties, ensuring the house runs smoothly and everyone is happy and cared for and it is here that the lines begin to blur.

September could be as conniving as the best of them and she is no martyr by any stretch of the imagination, but she was fighting for what she wanted by any means necessary. Coming up against a neighbour that could be just as conniving certainly makes for interesting reading and also ups the ante in the anger stakes too. For a girl that was inexperienced she could certainly flirt and knew how to use her fine womanly attributes. September actually becomes the seductress and I felt she actually took advantage of the situation, she took the lead. Poor Jesse didn’t really know what had hit him, but it seemed he had the same attraction to her for quite a while too, so in essence they were both as bad as each other.

Yes, they are step-daughter and step-father, yes there is a bit of an age gap, but I read it the way the author intended, as a love story. We have the conflicted emotions, the rights and wrongs but the heart wants what the heart wants and when feelings and emotions are running high there is not much you can do about it. As they spent so much time apart, they didn’t have that close father/daughter bond so for me those boundaries hadn’t been crossed. Yes it is taboo, yes it is not the norm, but it can happen and it does happen.

“...I don’t want you with me if you can’t trust it too.”

There is a great plot running throughout both books, at times I was angry, at times I was sad, but the re-introduction of a certain character certainly brought a lot of anger back to the surface for me. This is where a new direction is taken and brings the story back full circle.

The grandparents I wanted to throttle, as I did the neighbour and the mother. Some choices are hard to stomach but I can see why they were made, but at the end you do see the grown up September where she makes choices for herself and no-one else.

For me I was glad that I read both books back to back, I felt the ending to book 2 was rushed and I didn’t feel completely satisfied at the end but loved the epilogue. I would also have loved a deeper character connection, while I felt it, I didn’t live it with them and at times I felt more lust than love, but overall I enjoyed their story and more importantly could empathise.

Let the sinning commence. The only sin I can think of is not reading this book. It was brilliant with sinners at every turn. The mother, the neighbour, the friend. September and Jesse's world is full of them. Two people that love each other with everything they have end up not being able to have what they most want in the world, each other.
Now if you've read book one in this fantastic series, you are not going to be able to put this book down.
Yes it's a complicated relationship but you tell me what relationships aren't. Forget who's related to who, there is no crime here, only love.
September is at college, meeting new friends, working hard and missing Jesse terribly. Jesse is working hard, ignoring the wife LOL, it's only on paper people, the woman abandon them all years ago, let's not forget. He is trying to forget all about September and failing miserably. He will always love her, that much is very clear.
The grandparents of September and Scout are desperate for Jesse and Sarah, formally known as Libby, to rekindle their love and give the marriage a second chance. Pfffft not in this life time. Sarah would jump at the chance but no way is Jesse that stupid. He is a caring, loving man but he no longer feels anything for her, she's Scout's mother and that's it.
September hates her mother with a passion and in all honesty she has valid reasons. I don't think she will ever forgive her.
God knows what the neighbour Casey is up to now, befriending Sarah, that woman wants Jesse all to herself, HA! another big fat NO. I think they are all forgetting one very important detail here, he's found real love and when that happens nothing can compare. So all the women that seem to be in heat around Jesse need to take a cold shower and quick. I just had mine haha!! Seriously the man is HOT!!
Them rip off your clothes moments melted my panties. He's got everything any woman would want in a man, hard working, great father, helps around the house, fun to be with, caring, loving, pleasing to the eyes and an exceptional lover. What more could a girl want? Oh yeah for him to divorce his wife, that might help.
September has yet another secret and Jesse is about to find out, giving September no option but to do as he says. Dominant Jesse is in the house, I love it.
Bless Scout she's a great kid, probably knows a lot more than she should but that's life. Sometimes it's best to be open and honest because you want your children to do the same.
September may have ended but the love in this story will last a life time. Happy smiles all round for a fantastic ending. I am now looking to see what other books this Author has written as her writing is off the charts epic. I recommend you pick up a book by Andrea Smith today. Thank you for once again for another awesome book.

I began this title immediately upon completing Sins of September and I found it to be just as riveting. Unlike Sins of September which was told from September’s POV this title was told from alternating POVs. Now that I am able to get Jesse’s POV it was easy for me to develop a connection with him that I never got while reading the first book.

In this installment, September leaves Jesse. I know you must be thinking why, after all the trouble she went through to get him. Well the unthinkable happened. Libby (September’s mom and Jesse’s wife had returned). September left because she did not have sufficient faith in Jesse’s love for her. Libby’s return threw a wrench into Jesse’s plan to divorce her and move on with his life. Scout, Jesse’s daughter wants a relationship with her mom, as she never got the chance to know her, while September wants nothing to do with her. What will Jesse do? Will Jesse stay married to Libby or will he go looking for September?

There is a lot more drama in this installment. Jesse had to contend not only with his meddling neighbour (who wanted to drive a wedge between him and September) but also with his bible thumping in laws who did not approve of his relationship with their granddaughter. The actions of these characters made for an interesting read.

I loved that the growth that Jesse demonstrated in this installment. He finally got himself out of that self- pity party that he was celebrating. He has proven that he is a man of action and is not afraid to fight for his right to be with the woman he loves.

The one thing that disappointed me where this story was concerned was the way in which the situation with Libby was dealt with. Personally, I believe that she got off lightly. There may be persons who do not agree with me on this based on her traumatic experience, however it was evident she had not changed. She was still the selfish woman who had abandoned her family four years ago.

The story was well written and the characters were well developed. The pace was just right; there was never a dull moment. I finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed this series and would definitely read more of this author’s work regardless of the name she chooses to pen her books under.

5 Amazing Wonderful Sinful Stars

I was given this book for my honest review by the author

“What part didn’t you understand baby? This shit has gone on too long. I know everything. Had a little chat with Brandon yesterday. My question is why the hell did you run off and not share this bit of news with me?” Jessie to September

This is the 2nd book of this series. The first is Sins of September and needs to be read in order.

September-pretty, brave and scared

Jessie-hunky, scarred

As September and Jessie’s journey continues we can see that the path taken is a hard one for both. In the latest troubling of waters comes a big wave that was not a surprise coming. With strength all things are made possible if only they truly believe in one another’s true love. Though doubt maybe in the forthcoming of times Jessie and September have hearts that let them astray but really how far do their true hearts go? Can the love that they have hidden from the world come to the forefront and be equalized to finding their common ground of two strong hearts? This is their amazing journey.

When one gets lemons what does one do? Make lemonade? Sure that would be the obvious thing to do but what about making an amazing cake with the still amazing lemons but add the flour, water, eggs and sugar to the mix lets then bake it and taste the amazement of our creation. September and Jessie’s journey is one that will have you craving different but in an amazing yet tantalizing way.

The author has done it again in this amazing 2nd book and to the conclusion of Sins of September. She has brought forth a closing that is one pure enjoyment yet a subtlety that no one else can come close too. When you think you have the book figured out this author takes us on a different path that will have you in pure Awe. Jessie and Septembers journey is fun, light, airy and sensual but also sorrowful. It will have you hoping for the conclusion to end all conclusions but in the end the author will surprise you with plenty of “Oh Wow” moments.

Happy Reading

*I was provided an arc of this book, from the author, in exchange for my honest review*

This was a perfect sequel to Sins of September. This book was just as hot as the first. Jesse was just as sexy. And September just as annoying (in a good way). I couldn't wait to read this because of the cliffhanger that happened and it truly picks up right after it. As horrible of a person Casey was, I kinda loved whenever Jesse would "put her in her place". The ONLY reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I really, REALLY wanted Libby to get more than she got for abandoning them.

I truly enjoyed these books. I think the controversy surrounding them is silly. There's many more books out there way more taboo than this (and she WAS of legal age & He didn't raise her). It's a great story. I highly recommend it! Thank you, Grayson Blue/Andrea Smith for the opportunity to read this book!!

Perfect Ending ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is Book 2 and oh wow! It’s so good, this is another great read!
September, I love her name, is away in college. Jesse is her dysfunctional mother’s soon to be ex husband. Scout is her sweet little sister. This is such a page turner and such a well written storyline with attention to details. I enjoyed the narrative and the intense love between the main characters.
So much suffering for September and I was so happy for her and Scout in this book!
I absolutely Andrea Smith’s writing and have read almost all of her books.

"A TOTAL PAGE TURNER, I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN" Once Again Andrea Smith delivers a fantastic storyline with plenty of depth and with every ingredient to make this a top rated book.

In this second instalment of the September Series, the story reaches its climax and we rewarded with a nail bitting plot and with an EPIC finale!

September is ready to start her freshman year in college and at her stepsister insistence she decides to remain close to her and of course Jesse. Jesse seems to be growing his business and becoming very successful and he has finally given into the desires September ignites in him, and even though thoughts of what society or family might think still plague his mind, time with September seems to stand still when they are together. For September being with Jesse is all she has ever dreamed of but his insecurities regarding their age difference and fears of committing the same past mistakes are a constant barrier to eternal happiness and soon things become even more difficult when a person from their past re-apears putting a hold to their relationship.

September will have to take drastic measures in spite of her love for Jesse in order to protect herself and her heart. But heartbreak is sometimes all it takes to give one a wake up call, and soon Jesse is faced with the painful reality of a life without September.
Secrets are revealed as new ones are kept. But can we really put a time frame on love? Time or distance doesn't change such strong feelings and Jesse will stop at nothing until he has September back where she belongs.

There are many songs about September out there, but whilst reading this book a particular tune kept playing in my mind, September Morn by Neil Diamond and I will close my review with a line which in my opinion says it all: "We Traveled halfway round the world to find ourselves again". I loved September's and Jesse's journey and I was delighted to have taken this trip with them.

I actually haven't read this and to be honest, I'm not eager to do so. Normally, I wouldn't rate a book I've not read but to quote another reviewer: "someone was nasty enough to rate it badly when they haven't read it so I thought why not?"

From the synopsis I gather that Jesse engaged in a sexual relationship with his stepdaughter. Probably not the wisest idea but not something that nobody's ever heard of before. People seem to be up in arms about it as if she were his biological daughter from the reviews though. Nobody seemed to mind when the stepdaughter and stepbrother got together in Clueless but apparently stepfather/stepdaughter is taboo. I personally just don't like to read graphic sex scenes, but that's my problem and is why I wouldn't have gotten this book in the first place.

I just can't fathom how anyone could read the synopsis and then be offended by that particular aspect of the book. Perhaps there's some huge twist involving Libby or Scout that has people so horrified. I don't know and I have no intention of finding out, unfortunately for the author pen named Graysen Blue.

The conclusion of September and Jesse love story is here!
I was expecting a little more angst in this book, with Libby returning to their lives and the way Sins of September (#1 book of this series) ended, but that's not the case.
The story is well conducted, September leaves her home to start college and Jesse returns home, not understanding why she left.
He tries everything he can to get her back, but shes determinate to stay out of their relationship.
There's a twist in the story that no one was expecting and they grow stronger.
I loved having Jesse POV, hes so strong and mature, it was great to get inside his mind.
September is having a hard time, but with the help of a new friend she becomes mature and accept that love is everything!

And the message of this story is... LOVE IS EVERYTHING!! Doesn't matter what others may think about it, just let the heart choose!

Honestly, I wasn't sure how this story was going to end. How the MCs would come together and find their HEAs but as usual Andrea/Greysen skillfully tied the knots. The love in this story is potent, raw and so very real that you forget the taboo that surrounds it and just let yourself be guided by the words on the page.
A Must Read.

I was over the moon when this landed on my phone. I loved book 1 - Loving Jesse, and book 2, Forever Jesse has proved to be equally as enjoyable. Following on directly from book 1 we find Jesse doing his best to win over September once and for all. He’s made mistakes, he knows that, it appears that all the cards are stacked against him, he has so many people trying to sabotage his relationship, and to be quite honest, he is a little too trusting and gullible, but his heart is definitely in the right place. September’s all grown up and trying to find her place in the world without Jesse, not an easy task. A sweet and sexy, if not a little corny, story. I loved it. Narration again is by Alexander Cendese and Rachelle Williams. Loved their take on Jesse and September.

Glad I kept reading

At first, I considered not continuing on with this storyline after finding out that the newbie author I thought wrote it was actually a we'll-established writer. I know that people write under different names all the time, but after reading and falling for the author's note in Sins of September, I felt like I'd been had.

Then I realized that when I choose a book to read, the author himself or herself doesn't matter to me. What does matter is if the story draws me in. And in a plot like this that spans multiple books, when I'm finished with the first installment, do I think it's worth paying money to continue on? The answer here was yes. Never mind the fact that a friend gifted this to me, I would have paid for it eventually because curiosity would have won out.

So off I went. And we do get resolution of September and Jesse's relationship. I still can't say that I agree with their choices, but again I'm intrigued. A stepfather/stepdaughter relationship is taboo no matter how one looks at it. True, there are points made by Jesse that soften the ick factor, but it was still hidden below the surface for me. And I do have to give major props to the author for including characters who had a dissenting opinion. Other taboo romances that I've read too often have unrealistically open-minded people, and the conflict that should be capitalized is swept under the rug. Not here.

That being said, I was disappointed in the execution of the plot twist that occurred. In fact, considering all the conniving ladies that these two know, I took the bombshell as a figment of someone's imagination, planned to tear the couple apart. Instead, it was actually true.

As expected we are treated to an ending that should make most readers happy. Predictable enough, which doesn't necessarily bother me, but it almost seemed a little too perfect, considering the controversial subject matter.

Wow. What an amazing read! Yet again, I opened this author’s book and was sucked right back into the story line of September and Jesse and their love story. I literally began reading this book right before bed, tired as one could possibly be and positive that I’d read a chapter and call it night. Nearly three hours later, I sit here with a finished book in my hands and absolutely captivated by this story.

September and Jesse’s story to say the least is an interesting one. It’s unconventional, considered taboo in many circles, and a story a whole lot of people will just write off because they aren’t comfortable with the subject line. But let’s face it people, it’s a story and a damn good one.

In this book, we find September and Jesse separated due to September’s mother’s/Jesse’s wife return and September’s lack of faith in Jesse stepping up and getting over his own issues regarding their relationship. This story focuses more on Jesse. His ability to come to terms with where his heart lies and how can his relationship survive the scrutiny of others but also his own.

To say Jesse truly “mans up” in this book, would be an understatement. He takes command of the situation he is in and handles it with authority, love, and conviction. I loved seeing his character step up, act like a honest man and not someone scared of what others would think. Although there is a bit of slight regression in September’s maturity during this story, I think it makes this story more believable. In the end, September is just a young woman coming into her own after having grown up so fast due to her mother’s actions.

This is an absolutely amazing series. Blue gives you enough twisted plot lines and interesting characters that you love to hate and hate to love that you will absolutely love this story if you give it a chance. You might just find this story isn’t quite as unconventional or as taboo as you once thought.

Sins of September took me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect from a book with huge age gap and "relation" of the two main characters. However, as the story went along, I enjoyed it and was glad to hear that Jesse and September were getting a second book to bring things to a conclusion for them. This review may contain spoilers for book one.

"I love Jesse. Jesse loves me. But sometimes that's just not enough when so many others are in the mix." ~ September

Book two starts us off right where we left off, September and Scout's mother is back. Sure not back, back, but in the picture none the less. This creates a huge problem for September and Jesse because little Scout has decided she wants a relationship with the mama that left her all those years ago. September knew there was a storm brewing ahead and decided to make the first move, not giving Jesse a chance to leave her for her mother.

Sheesh, that sounds bad, but it isn't. Graysen Blue has a way with this story that keeps the creep factor low. September is mature for her young age and Jesse is pretty level headed. Not immature bu any means, but is a guy that has been through the ringer and now knows exactly what he wants. If she wants him is a totally different story altogether. Grandma and grandpa are sill not approving, along with the nosey neighbor Cassie causing problems for this fledging couple.

I have to review a bit vague as to not spoil any of the story line. The book is well written from dual points of view. We get some major angst, as well as confusion for our characters this time around. They aren't on the same page for quite a while, which I secretly loved. When September Ends fleshed out and then wrapped up the relationship of Jesse and September nicely. We even get an epilogue to let us know where everybody is a few years down the road.

Ahhhhh!!!! I have been dying to get the final installment in this series and boy was I not disappointed!

Book two picks up where book ones leaves off with September trying to start out on her own in a world without Jesse. Now I have to say that part of me really wished that they would have just gotten back together because come on now we all know these two were hotter than hot together, but another part of me was glad that they spent a great deal of time apart. I loved that September was strong enough to stand on her own and not give in to him. It was honestly like watching her grow up before your very eyes and I just loved that part of the story.

Now even though that September and Jesse are apart for a good deal of the story, there is no shortage of heat throughout. I was also pleasantly surprised that having them apart did not make for a slower paced story. It still have an amazing flow to it and is super easy to get sucked into. Im pretty sure that other than putting the book down to do the basic necessities like eat and use the washroom I was unable to put it down until I hit the end.

Now without giving any spoilers, Im just going to throw in that I loved the ending of this book. The series was ended beautifully and I really dont think I would change a thing. I will however miss these two something fierce and I would happily jump into a spin off series (hint hint). One can only hope!
